Pink hue when opening apps

Yesterday I completed a software update and elected not to update my OS from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3. I installed a TWAIN plugin for an older scanner and VueScan. Both the plugin and application were uninstalled using App Zapper after learning that neither worked out for me. I haven't changed anything else as far as the computer goes.
Every so often upon opening an application such as Text Edit, Safari, App Zapper, Photoshop, and Aperture, my screen changes to a dark pink hue that is transparent, but it flashes once and stops.
The other thing that has happened and continues to happen is in iTunes, Safari, & Firefox I have noted some odd behavior as far as page rendering goes. I'll have the screen size set to anywhere from 1269x963 to 1530x1385. These are just random measurments of typical window sizes from time to time. Clearly they vary.
When I am scrolling up and down white blocks appear, they're dynamic really, flickering even. I noticed this from day one but almost figured that was just how things were. I haven't ever noticed this on my old PowerBook. The number and placement of such boxes varies. I think it's how pages are being rendered but I am not sure.

Hey Edward Staines1,
Thanks for the question and congratulations on your new iPhone 6. Your iPhone 6 includes the beautiful Retina HD display, with a higher resolution and more pixels than previous models. Some third-party application developers may have not yet released updates for these larger displays, so built into iOS 8 is a desktop-class scaler - technology that helps make this software look beautiful on different sized displays. This scaler will resize the entire interface when one of these applications is launched. • Repeated log ins necessary when opening app

So I've noticed that mobile link doesn't stay on. Then I realized it wouldn't because I wasn't logged in. I have an account. I've signed in to my Adobe amount multiple times after a clean start but it never seems to stick. It doesn't sign me off every time I close the app so it's manageable but it happens often enough to make it a nuisance.

  • HTTP 500 error when opening "App Server Control" (EM) in OAS 10.1.3.5.0

    Hi,
I have some (but not much) experience with OAS and am currently stuck. So hope to find someone who can help me further here.
When i open Oracle Application Server Control from the SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.0 home page i get most of the times an HTTP 500 error.
Initially i got this even when i opened the login page (/em) but worked around this by increasing the ThreadsPerChild from 100 > 250 in the httpd.conf and replacing the loopback adres 127.0.0.1 in the dms.conf for the virtual host configuration to the actual (fixed) ip-address.
The current situation is that when i restart the environment (opmn stopall & opmn startall) i can open the the EM login page.
After logging in om the Enterprise Manager, the page is partly loaded and a HTTP 500 error is shown when i refresh the page.
    The apache log files now still shows the following errors;
[Tue Sep 07 15:46:19 2010] [error] [client 10.157.1.68] [ecid: 1283867060:10.150.50.110:10312:9568:5,0] mod_oc4j: Failed to find a failover oc4j process for session request for destination: application://ascontrol (no island or jgroup).

    Any hints ?
    Kind regards,
    Peter

I was wondering if anyone else might have some insight on this. Whenever I try to have Siri open an app for me, it tells me that I don't have an app with that name. • Error Message when opening Apps in PSE10

I don't have any issues opening external Apps such as IPhoto, PSE Organizer, ACDSee outside of PSE10.  All of my photo's and elements are stored on these three programs and work fine on their own.
However when I open PSE10 and try to open and access my Iphoto, Organizer or ACDSee applications I get the following error message:
Could Not Complete your Request Because of Program Error
I can't open any external application to bring in my data to manipulate in PSE10.
We had a problem getting PSE10 to upload from the discs and had to download the free trial version online and enter our key code to convert to an owned copy.
Is this part of the problem.  Help!
Right now it is useless if I can't bring in my data.
I am operating on a Mac OS X system.

Adobe is protecting you from yourself here. It is a very, very Bad Thing to poke around in the iphoto library from outside iphoto, for example, because that library is for iphoto's own use and you can easily corrupt it and lose your photos the way you're going about it.
You have two choices with using a photo management program: send the photos to PSE as external editor or export them, edit the exported copies and import them as new files. The whole point of an asset manager is that you let it manage for you. If you don't like that, don't use one.

  • When opening apps a message pops up saying access iTunes to receive push notifications. Already tried syncing any other suggestions

I updated my iPhone a week ago and everything was working fine. I got on my PC laptop yesterday and there was a notification for an iTunes update. When I tried to update my Internet was down and the update cancelled. I called my ISP and they fixed the problem, but up until I got the update installed my phone kept beeping like there was a push notification even when there wasn't. Every time I open an app it tells me to access iTunes to receive push notifications. I synced my phone today, but I still receive the message and I'm unable to get notifications from any of my apps.

The same with me, i did restore, the problem was fix. But it came over and over again. Annoying pop up!

  • Music stops when open apps

I have an iPad 2 and iPad 3.  Both have the same issue.  I will start playing music using the music app (standard app which came with the iPads).  Music plays fine.  I will then open an app such as Safari or iBooks.  Sometimes the music will continue to play.  Other times it will stop.  I can't seem to reproduce the experience the same way each time.  For example, I can open the music app, start the songs playing and then click on home button to open Safari (or iBooks).  When I do that, the music will stop.
I am using the latest iTunes, have my iOS up to date etc.  I regularly sync to my MacBook Pro which has Mountain Lion.
I suspect I am simply doing some step in the incorrect fashion.
Any suggestions oir advice are welcome.

Actually, in my experience - if you are using the music app and then switch to another app - the music may stop ever so briefly - and I mean for about a second - and then it will start playing again. That split second of stoppage is just because the device is switching to another app and may be short on memory - at least that's my assumption. Otherwise, the music should continue to play.
The built in music app should run in the background as do radio apps like Pandora, iHeart Radio, TuneIn Radio. Those apps should continue to run in the background when you switch apps. They are some of the few apps that really do run in the background in iOS.

  • Last used files suggested when opening app

When I open a app - for example text edit - I am offered a preview of the last files I have used with this application. Is it possible to hide these (or preferably, just some of them) as I do not want others to see what I have been working on?

Hold down the option key when quitting any app.

  • Disable force-space-shift when opening Apps/Docs?

I like it sometimes, and others not, so for me the solution would be greater control over whether I my space shifts to the Applications space, of which I just opened.
As it is, when I open Safari, while in Space 1, and Safari is set for Space 2, I'm automatically forced to Space 2. I don't always like this. Is there some right-click menu to open an app without going to it's space?

Me too post. This is driving me nuts after having used Virtue for a long time on Tiger (where you can turn this 'feature' off). Most frequently I just want to open a new terminal on a new desktop, it used to be a matter of cmd-tabbing to terminal and hitting cmd-n, now I have to zip to the last desktop with a terminal, make a new one, then go into spaces (or use cmd click on the title bar) and drag it to the new place. PITA.
I do like that Apple wants to make things simple, but removing basic configuration options has perhaps gone a little over the top in Leopard. I guess its easier for the (politically) to add stuff in later if there's a loud cry than to support tons of stuff no one uses untill the end of time.

  • Redirected when opening Apps Store to iTunes Store on iTouch. Help, please?

Recently after updating my 3rd Gen iTouch with the 4.0 software, I get redirected to ITUNES store when I try to access the APP store from it. I have tried rebooting and I have restored my device several times. Nothing has made a difference.
I do not have this problem when I access iTunes from my laptop.
This is my 3rd iTouch (in less than 2 years)and I am beginning to lose hope on Apple Products. I would like to avoid a trip to the Apple Store for yet another replacement.
Does anyone have any help to send my way? I'm willing to hear it all.
    Thanks so much, much appreciated.

I'm getting just the opposite, when i click on itunes store i get redirected to app store

  • Finder behaving strangely, temporarily unresponsive when opening Apps folder, External Drive.

Hi I'm running 10.7.2 on a 27-inch iMac 11,1 (Late 2009). Everything has been working great up until a few weeks ago. I can't remember if it was after an update or what.
I have an external 1.5 TB hard drive, and whenever  try to access the drive's root (lowest-level) directory, Finder freezes up for 1-2 minutes, I can't do anything, it just stays unresponsive. If I keep a window open of that same directory and open the directory by opening a new finder window and going to the external drive, it works just fine, but this isn't an ideal work around, since it keeps me from opening the drive via the icon on my Desktop (since that would just point focus to the already-open window, and if I navigate away from the base directory, the problem happens all over again once I try to re-access the drive).
At first this was the only problem, then I noticed that the exact same unresponsive Finder would result if I tried to open the Applications folder, and then again it turns out the Documents folder does the same thing when whatever program I'm using tries to open a 'Save As..' sheet that points to the Documents folder by default, for example. This behavior renders some pieces of software super impractical to use.
Finally, lately, whenever I try to open a directory in Finder that is a sub-directory of my home directory, the directory will use the same 'View Options' as my home directory (background color, etc.). If I navigate away from the folder and back, it's styles appear as normal -- this only occurs when I open a new finder window directly to another directory that is a sub-directory of my home.
Then, I ceased having problems with the Documents and Applications directories (can't remember when), but still have problems with my external.
Phew. I'm not completely sure that the last issue is related to the main problem, but it seems likely.
Any ideas as to what's going on here?
    Thanks,
    Sam
Edit: This has been going on for a few weeks now, restarting the computer, restarting Finder, fixing disk permissions have all been tried.

I am pretty sure I used Apple's Migration Manager to move my account which easily could have pulled over some legacy CS folders in my user's Library.
After some more searching I did find a .plist file for the Adobe Application Manager by having Spotlight look for /Mars. The .plist did include the these (incorrect) paths: /Volumes/Mars. After I corrected that I was able to install InDesign in the right location and it works now.
Strange thing is that Adobe Application Manager still created the invisible folder /Volumes/Mars and put the Adobe Extension Manager in it.
Since I have a book to finish and ID is working now I won't rock the boat but I have no doubt it will hang again and a re-install is in my future. So I downloaded the cleaner-tool and will use it next time.
    Thanks
    Peter
