Pinned tabs stay highlighted

I use pinned tabs for Facebook, Twitter, and emails. The blue highlight feature for new notifications is staying on continuously even though I've addressed the notifications. This is a recent development in the last week or so.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Pinning Tabs in IE 11

Is it possible to pin tabs in IE 11? I don't mean pin them to the task bar, I mean pin them to stay open. Chrome allows us to right click and "pin tab" and it moves over to the left and remains open and returns to its place next time we open

there is no 'Pin tab' context menu option in webkit or gecko... It must be one of your Chrome/FX extensions. View your webkit/gecko Addons management tab and try to identify which addon it is.... the vendor may have an equivalent addon for MSIE.
Tools>Manage Addons>Get More addons to install additional addons to your MSIE browser.

NWBC 4.0 : pinning tabs language dependent

Dear experts,
I had some strange reaction when pinning tabs, being logged into SAP with different languages.
Whatever the language I log with in with to NWBC 4.0 PL13, the tabs I pinned stay in the language I was logged in when creating them.
I pinned a tab when being logged in English, another when in French.
When afterwards connected to SAP in Dutch, the pinned tabs showed all screens and additional tabs opened via OBN links in French or English.
Only the newly opened sessions are in Dutch (the login language).
Any solutions ?

Pinned tabs and toolbar bookmarks disappearing.

I have set up pinned tabs twice, and they disappeared when i went to a new website. Then I decided to put bookmarks on the toolbar, and they keep disappearing, too. I had no trouble using Firefox on my Windows XP machine, but am now on a Windows 8 laptop.
Actually I think that I tried both bookmarks on toolbar and pinned tabs on a previous Windows 8 laptop, and I think it worked there, fine. Maybe I have something set wrong?

Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.
#Use one of these methods to open the Bookmarks Library window:

Report link stays highlighted

I have created a Print "column link" on my report that displayed with all the records on the report, so users can just click-on Print on the record that they want to print out. What I wanted to do is the last link that was clicked stays highlighted or something to indicate that it was last clicked. Why isn't "report column link" work like a regular html link, where the text link change to purple after it been clicked?
I have employees who have to print off hundreds of records each time and if they were interrupted they will get lost after they come back, because there is nothing to indicate the last link that was clicked. Please Help!

How do I resize pinned tabs/deal with tab group problems in Firefox 22?

With the automatic update to Firefox 22, my pinned tabs have ballooned in size; not only does this look horrible, but it reduces the real estate available for other tabs. While NoSquint has sorted the issue with websites randomly resizing themselves, everything else (add-on menu, toolbar icons) has also increased in size, which affects what can be displayed.
Another problem with 22 is that my tab groups are no longer behaving normally: I click on one group and another group moves around the screen, typically jumping behind the original group I clicked on. Any suggestions for how to improve these problems are much appreciated.

if you want to set the text size/pixel density in firefox different from that of your system's settings like it was handled in prior versions, enter '''about:config''' into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''layout.css.devPixelsPerPx'''. double-click it and change its value to '''1.0''' (or any other zoom factor that fits your purpose; 0.8 equals 80%, 1.15 is 115% and so on..., -1.0 is the default value and will adhere to the system settings).

I have updated to the new version of iPhoto but it will no longer let me edit text in the preset text boxes. The text is highlighted for a nanosecond but will not stay highlighted so I can amend it. Can anyone help me with this. Many thanks.

You might try using the add-on 'NoSquint' which allows numerous zoom options specific to each page you visit & keeps your settings - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/

In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side.

Why does my first pinned tab always load as the google play store when I don't have that saved as a pinned tab? This happens to every site pinned in first tab.

This happens no matter how many tabs I have pinned and no matter what site is supposed to be in that first pinned tab. If I close that tab and close and reopen firefox, the next tab in line that became first now loads as the google play store. I can see that for a couple seconds it starts to load the correct site. Then it loads the google play store instead.

Is there a way to close a pinned tab without unpinning it or closing the browser completely?

when i have one of my pinned tabs opened and i open a new tab, i cant find a way to close the pinned tab without closing the browser completly.

You can also middle-click a tab to close that tab and that also works for pinned tabs.

WHy do my pinned tabs not come up when I reopen Firefox?

I have pinned my email and internet radio in the tab bar. After I exit Firefox 4 and then return - the pinned tabs are no longer there. Also the "ghost" tab with the + sign (to open a new tab) is missing at the right side of the tabs in the tab bar...where did it go? I have to hit the button in the Navigation bar...dont like that.

Another issue that manually creates this problem:
Open browser with the App Tabs
Open a second browser window (no App Tabs here)
Close the first browser window using the top-right 'X' and then close the second browser window the same way (all browser windows are closed now)
Reopen the browser & the App Tabs are gone.
Although I rarely do this, sometimes I'll be working on multi-windows & forget the order of closing. I solved this my getting the "Toolbar Buttons" add-on [ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/toolbar-buttons/ ] and putting the "Exit" icon in my navigation toolbar & had to train myself to use that to exit Firefox. Now I don't lose my App tabs.

It's possible to put tittle in the header of pinned tabs?

I have son pinned tabs, but his headers are only favicons. If I need to have some pinned tabs from the same site all of the looks the same.
It's possible to have a tittle on the tab's header like a normal tab?

Pinned App tabs only show the favicon and not the title text to make them take as less space as possible (they won't scroll if you've opened a lot of tabs).
You can consider to create your own favicon or modify the current favicon and use that instead. 
That probably only works if you bookmark the link.

When I click on a bookmark to open it, the bookmark (in the sidebar) does not stay highlighted. Why?

When I open a bookmark, the bookmark title from the list in the sidebar does not stay highlighted. It used to but doesn't anymore. Do you know why? Can I change an option to get that feature back?

Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. As for your issue, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. My pinned tabs are not saved. Changed the settings still does not work?

This changed before upgrading to the new version of FRFX. I cannot save my pinned tabs, nor does Firefox open to the last tabs open. Tried to change Settings...still does not work.
I have a new iMac 3.4, i7, 16g for video editing. Its running LION 10.7.2

Well that was odd, decided to check addons and started firefox in safe mode and my pinned tabs were there so restarted it to disable addons one by one but before I could do anything my pinned tabs were back in place. Lets hope it lasts.

I updated firefox yesterday to 9.01 and now my pinned tabs are not saved when I reopen firefox. I had hoped the days of having umpteen problems on each update were gone now there is a little one every couple of weeks but no, it's still a pain.
