Pinning edge objects to the left of the browser window

With Adobe Muse, How can I pin an object to the left side of the screen, but still have it scroll up and down?

I've having the SAME issue, and agree with an_adverman, a missing pin anchor point could possibly solve this!
Here is my site's HOME PAGE navigation:
http://pluscreative.businesscatalyst.com/#featured
I want it to be pinned to the left side of the browser window like my SUBPAGES:
http://pluscreative.businesscatalyst.com/health-american-dental-education-association.html
However, when I pin on the home page, it completely disappears...nowhere to be found. So for now, I'm not pinning it, but am trying to find a way to push it to the left side of the browser window. I can't pin it, since the naviagtion on the home page is no where near the top or bottom of the page and pinning would make it stagnant on the entire page, as opposed to just the section I want it in.
So maybe pinning is the wrong term... but how can I get that navgiation to snap to the left hand side of the browser, as I'm easily able to do on the subpages?
HELP ME I'M GOING BONKERS.

  • Pinning an object under the header with a y value- Possible?

    Is it possible to pin an object to the top of the browser but define it a y-value so that untill you start to scroll it will remain a fixed distance from the top of the page (under the header) and then when you start to scroll it will stay pinned to the top once it has scrolled to that point?
    Screenshot for example:
    I want the topics navigation to stay under the header when at the top of the page, but when you scroll down to stay in the top right of the browser…? Is it possible to do this in muse by defining a y-value? or Other method?

    Hello,
    The feature you are looking for is called sticky header. Unfortunately the feature is not there as of now in Adobe Muse.
    A few feature requests have already been added for same and hopefully it will be there in future releases of Muse.

  • Can an abritary html object fill the brower window?

    Can an abritary html object fill the brower window?
    I have created a slideshow in Muse using the 'Full screen' slideshow widget. I like how the slideshow expands to fill the user's browser window when the browser is re-sized. However, I want to replace this widget with an html5 animation; and I want the animation to expand to fill the browser window just like the slideshow widget does.  I snapped the edges of the arbitrary html object to 100% browser width, but it still does not expand to fill the browser window. Anyone know of a way to achieve this?
    Thanks!

    Yes, that's still accurate. Select the MSO, open the Overlay Creator panel, and you'll see an "Auto Play" option.

  • Floating Items in the browser window

    I have a stage that is 4000 some pixils wide.
    I have some items tht i would like to be on screen and in a fixed position no mater where you scroll.
    2 to be centered - content and intro
    1 to be top left and  - logo
    one to be top right - contact
    i have the following code that is present in the compisioionReady that floats a symbol named content in the center of the browser window.
    i need to add the other 3 items to this code.
    Thoughts?
    $(document).scroll(function(){
        var leftEdgeWindow = $(this).scrollLeft()
        setLeftEdge(leftEdgeWindow);
    function setLeftEdge(base){
        //get the content symbol
        var contentObject = sym.getSymbol("content");
        //here it is in jQuery
        var content = contentObject.getSymbolElement();
        //get some important widths
        var contentWidth = content.width();
        var windowWidth = $(window).width();
        //find the left edge position
        var leftEdge = base + (windowWidth/2) - (contentWidth/2);
        content.css("left",leftEdge);
        //content.css("position", "fixed");
    setLeftEdge(0);

    Hi, blonde_rik-
    You can also just set the CSS position on these specific elements to "fixed":
    sym.$("content").css("position", "fixed");

  • How can i get my movie to expand the browser window?

    hi everyone,
    thanks for checking out my post...
    i want to create a fullscreen site like www.danwheldon.com or
    www.highlandspring.com where the movie expands to the whole of the
    browser window.
    ive made my movie 1024x768 and just copied the html source
    from the pages just to test it but my movie just appears as
    1024x768 in the top left of the screen and doesnt reach to the far
    corners.
    when that didnt work i checked out loads of tutorials and
    spent a whole day trying to figure out how to do it but to no
    avail.
    does anybody have a clue what im doing wrong?
    thank you very much and i hope to hear from you.
    all the best,
    mark

    Hi Mark,
    First thing: in the HTML tab of the publish settings, set the
    dimensions to percent and choose 100 for width and height.
    Depending on your content, you might then need to play around
    with the scaling of the objects on stage. There's some info in the
    online help about this:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/main/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=Liv eDocs_Parts&file=00000150.html

  • How do i get my navbar to stay on one line when the browser window is minimized?

    I am new to coding and have just created my first website in html and css.  I know that the coding is pretty dire and that I have a lot to learn and hope that someone can guide me in how to solve this problem.  When the browser window is minimized, the navbar breaks down into 2 or 3 lines but I want the navbar to fit to the window whatever the size of the client machine.
    I think I need to add a media query but i'm not sure if i do and if so what code to use and where to put it?
    I am worried that the page will only be viewable properly on a desktop and i really want to learn how to make a fluid layout which can be viewed on 320px, 768px and 1200px.

  • How to create an MenuBar that stays at the top of the browser windows?

    We are trying to develop a screen in WDA. It has a menu (UI element MenuBar) at the top. Based on the menu selection it calls a WDA to display below the menu. The requirement is to have the menu bar be stationary. The bottom container (TransparentContainer) with the WDA object is allowed to scroll, but the menu on top should not move. The scrolling should be dynamic based on the browser window. The bottom WDA can have more data then can fit on the screen.
    How can we make the menu stationary and the called WDA scrollable? The scroll bars should automatically update due to different browser window sizes.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response. Our system is functioning on SAP Ver. 7.00, Service Pack 16. I do not know when or if we will be getting the upgrade to 7.01 or 7.02.
    As far as separating the menu and the actual view, each menu selection leads to the loading of a different WDA view inside the TransparentContainer by dynamically linking the ViewContainerUIElement to different WDA views. The trouble here is that when the View becomes too large, we will have to scroll off to the right or down to see additional content. This results in the menu not being accessible unless we scroll back. The requirement is to have the menu stay at the top of the page no matter how the user scrolls through the secondary view container below the MenuBar element.
    So far our best solution was to place an arbitrary pixel size to the TransparentContainer of the view, generating in-window scroll bars for the menu-controlled view. The MenuBar always stays visible because it is on top of the scrollable container. However, with varying screen sizes, set-pixel-size is not an ideal solution. I am hoping that there is a more elegant solution than set pixel size since % does not work with height size setting.
    Are there any ways to achieve this via 7.00 layout settings? Or perhaps a method to detect browser window size? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

  • Missing bar @ the bottom of the browser window

    in previous versions of FF (up to 3.x?) there was a bar at the bottom of the browser window which showed:
    - a lock when on an encrypted page
    - a field when the download pop-up was closed while there were still downloads going on and showing how much time was left for the download(s) to finish
    are those icons / functionalities still available available ?
    if not, would it be possible to put them back?

    The Statusbar is gone and the "lock" with it, as of Firefox 4.0. Security information about a web page is shown by the Site Identity Button.<br />
    The old padlock could give users a false sense that a site is secure by not supplying all of the information about a site and only showed that there is a secure connection that didn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. The Site Identity Button was introduced in Firefox 3.0 to show more complete "identity" information for HTTPS web pages. <br />
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Site+Identity+Button
    You can add a padlock to the location bar with the Padlock add-on- https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/padlock-icon

  • Firefox crashed even before the browser window is shown

    Immediately after I double clicked the icon, it immediately showed crash reporter dialog.. I don't even see the browser window to try the safemode.
    I uninstalled and resinstalled. Still crashed.

    Hello josat2013. The cause of this could be a corrupted user profile in Firefox, which if I remember right is not removed by the uninstaller.
    Could you try and see if creating a new profile works?
    I am going to assume you use Windows 7 for the walkthrough. While on your desktop, click the start menu and write '''firefox.exe -profilemanager'''. Unless Firefox crashes while doing this, it should show a small window with the name of the current Firefox profiles on your system, usually it is named ''#randomcharacters#.default''. On the left hand side you should see a button called '''New Profile''', click this and follow the instructions where you specify the name and etc.
    After you have finished the instructions you should see that there is a new profile in the list with the name you specified. Highlight this one and choose click on '''Choose Firefox'''. If the Firefox window appears without crashing, then the cause is that corrupted profile.
    To transfer all your files and settings to the new profile, follow the instructions on this webpage: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
    Good luck and hope it works out! :)

  • Site automatically scale to fit the browser window

    hello all!
    i'm working on a site that i'd like to automatically scale to fit the browser window, without any scrolling and while preserving its aspect ratio.
    my client is very particular about the design & does not want the width & height of the images & text to change like they do in a responsive site- he just wants the site to scale to fit in a browser window. Yikes!!!
    could anyone give me a hand with this please?
    thanks so very much!
    -sharon

    Hi Andreas
    I'm really looking forward to hearing about your tests tonight. As I said to Elaine (above) I will be delighted if someone proves me wrong. I'm just looking for a solution.
    I've just had another quick go on Edge Animate to try out your suggestions:
    My findings are that it doesn't matter whether a graphic is wrapped in a div or not. If the graphic has L, T , W & H pixel values and the surrounding div group is set to L, T , W & H % values, the L & T will scale down but the W & H will not - the graphic will just stay the same size when the browser is shrunk. The only way to get the graphic to scale down is to change its L, T , W & H to % - but, as I've said it won't retain its aspect ratio.
    As soon as images are imported, the situation changes. The layout preset offers 4 more options including 'Scale background image'. And Background image settings now appear offering W 100%, H Auto by default. These both seem essential to achieving scale-to-fit. I've tried images with and without being wrapped in a div. Just as with graphics, I find that if I add the % to the div then the image doesn't scale. But if I add the % to the image it scales perfectly.
    As far as I can see the problem is that, with graphics, the link width and height feature doesn't seem to work properly. I would expect that if I create a graphic 100px square then change W & H to %, then both W & H would be the same %. But I get all sorts of results. It doesn't seem to make a difference if I fix the percentages so W & H are both 100%. Changing from Global to Applied doesn't seem to affect anything either. Surely if W & H are set to 100% (and linked) then a graphic should remain square regardless of browser size? I can't find any combination that will allow this. Is it just me? Am I doing something stupid?
    Good luck tonight.
    Cheers

  • Scrolling issues within the browser window

    How do I stop my screen from being able to scroll all the way to the right once the site is published?
    Not sure If that explains it very well, I have just published my site using the business catalyst and everything displays correctly, the only problem I have is that the bottom horizontal scoll bar on the browser window allows me to scroll all the way of the page to the right?
    Hope this makes sense!
    Thanks
    Mark

    Could you please check if you have some object (may be transparent object) outside the pge on the right? It might either be on the page or on Master page.
    Could you please provide us the Website URL where you are facing the isue. It will help us understand the issue better.

    If you use Lion, go to Applications/ Mission Control and, if you have more Desktops, as attached, it means you have more, and you must select the one you need for a certain app. If default settings has not changed, this is Control with left / right arrow
    If in Snow Leopard and earlier, you have these settings in System Preferences only. In Lion, you also have some settings in Sys Prefs.
