Pinterest for Gallery

Is / has anyone worked out the pinterest widget for a photo gallery in BC?
In short - are there any tags I can use to substitute the image file that is generated dynamically?
Ideally it would be great for it to appear on the footer of each image that appear in the the lightbox

Have to talk to client - they have about 40+ galleries and just wanted a quick solution to add the pin it button to shots.
would be quicker and cheaper to go with wordpress or other for this I think
From the inner circle - is there any changes on the horizon for the gallery mod? I seemed to read it back quite a while ago (and even saw some screen shots I think) of a new image gallery system in the making?

Help with dreamweaver gallery - or ext. for gallery

This link is to a template that I found that I really love how the gallery looks... but I am trying to figure out how to create this gallery with thumbnails along the top where you can click on one of the thumbnails on the left first (in the mouse over section) to activate which set of thumbnails you see at the top. Then once you click on one of those thumbnails at the top the image changes in the main section along with the extra 2 or 3 images that you can right or left arrow click to. http://www.templatehelp.com/preset/pr_preview.php?i=20121&pr_code=J3Yh
More info on what I am trying to do. incase that wasn't just jibberish.
The boxes that have the images on the left (which is the mouse over section) I want to be able to click on one of the images for ex they would be listed as performing arts, restaurants, education etc. I would like to be able to click on one then once clicked have a set of thumbnails at the top of the main image that have one thumbnail for each job. so once you click on the job the main image changes to whatever job image I place in there along with still being able to click through more of the same job in that area like it does now.
I am using Dreamweaver CS4... but if you know of an extension that can do that ... that would be great to.

That's a Flash site, you know? You can't build Flash sites in DW.
If you're really good with JavaScripts, HTML and CSS, you might be able to cobble something together that resembles the Flash site but it won't be exactly the same. Sorry, I don't know of any extensions that would do exactly that.

Columns for gallery!

Hi! I'm nearly there but I can't get this scipt to work!! Its
a basic gallery I'm building that imports images via xml with
thumnails. Problem is I started trying to make columns and it wont
work! I'm nearly there though I can smell it! The Column bit is
declaired at the top and in a for statement at the bottom! Can you
take a look?

that last bit of code can't possibly work. you're trying to
position those movieclips before they even exist.
you had it right the first time. you just need to use

Ok big question...
how would i go about loading XML data in this format ,

Then About 20 additional Infos like that. Now the whole xml
list has the same tags. How would i go about displaying them in
flash? I wanted to use one MC and have it duplicate for each info
category and place the MCs on the stage so it looks like a gallery.
Each MC would have a picture with some info on it loaded form the
XML.
I think i would need to use the Dataset but im not even sure
how i would go about doing this.

also i don't need to sort anything. I was hoping to just use the
components and bind them. Also the xml feed would be updated every
couple of minutes with more content so i might need to list like 20
thumbs then make a button to seperate the loaded content. So maybe
like 20 thumbs showing then they click a page 2 button and it shows
the next 20 thumbs. That layout out is perfect though.

Extension for gallery/slide show

I am looking for a versatile gallery/slide show extension that is completely independent of Flash - ie will not require Flash Player for display (curse iPad) - . Any suggestions please?

Help re: special effect for gallery

can anyone please help, even if it is to just name the effect
I need to look for.
I need to create an image gallery that (i'll try to explain)
The images need to be upright - and on an invisible wheel -
rotating. Sort of the position slides would be in a projectors
slide machine. The front image would be facing the viewer and the
rest on the invisible wheel at an angle, side on. The images can be
clicked from the wheel and there needs to be forward and back
functions to scroll through the images.
I have seen this done but cannot for the life of me find it.

Animation, or similar - Sshape Tweening
is all in the help docs that comes with Flash - it applies to
shapes (vectors) made in flash - not
imported bitmaps. You will need to trace your image using
Flash's drawing tools before attemting to

Resize question for gallery

I need to run a slide show in "kiosk" mode where the image
takes up as much of the screen as possible. The screen will be set
to 1024 x 768, so basically I need to make sure the images either
show at 100% because they fit, or reduced to about 85% because I
know some of them are too big for kiosk mode.
We are hoping to avoid having to create a sub-library of
images that are resized down to 85%.
Yes, I know resizing in the browser will cause degredation,
but the max size of each image was decided on before we dreamed up
the kiosk mode. So, new images going forward will be resized to the
right size, but we can't resize the existing ones.
QUESTION: Can Spry handle the task of resizing an image to a
max height? Or can it only spit out what I put in?

If your XML has the image widths and heights embedded in it,
you can use an onPostLoad observer on the data set to run through
each row of the data set to constrain the image width/heights to
the proper dimensions.
Something like this:

Feature Request for Gallery Demo

Hi, Kin
Elsewhere, a while back, you mentioned it would be possible
to have a caption in the Gallery demo by adding something to the
photos.xml file? I'm a lightweight when it comes to writing
javascript but I can typically read functions well-enough to
understand how to hack what I want.
Is there an example somewhere that shows the gallery demo
with a caption? Is there a resource I could look at? Suggestions?

I just verified that it actually works for starting the Slide
Show, but it also has the side effect of auto-starting the slide
show when you change the gallery you are looking at with the select
widget. But that might be desirable right?
I'm guessing you're going to want to have a caption for each
image right? If so, you'll have to edit the photos.xml file and add
a caption entry for each photo. For example in the
galleries/china/photos.xml file you'll see lots of photo tags of
the form:

</photo>
If you're guaranteed to have a short one line captions, you
can add it as an attribute to the photo tag:

Or you can add the caption as a tag underneath the photo
node:

To add the caption to the HTML page, you simply need to add a
spry:detailregion some place near the main image:

The reason you have to use a detail region is because the
code will set the current row of the dsPhotos data set to the row
that contains the URL for the main image. Because detail regions
listen for row changes, the caption will auto-magically update
itself when the main image changes.
In the example above I used a {caption} data reference. If
you went the route of using a caption attribute, you would have to
use {@caption} instead.

I have MX 6 and think this is a problem.
I can generate what looks like xml in the browser, but when I
try to save it to a file I get this sort of output for the above,

You shouldn't search for line 145 into the CFM file but into
the answer that is sent to the browser. The resulting XML sent by
the CFM is invalid so you have to identify first the line 145 into
the response and than to look where the line is generated.
As Don did I opened the URL into Firefox and when the XML
error displayed I look into the source (View Source). The server
instead of serving a valid XML answer a HTML content which is not
correct. (Maybe a CF server error ?!)

Need CSS Help for Gallery

I have an image gallery which is working fine. But I'm at a loss for what CSS rule will center my large image vertically within its div. I've tried several attempts, none of which have had any affect. I've temporarily resorted to using a top margin to bump down my portrait image (image 1) so it appears centered... but that won't solve my landscape image (image 2).

Sorry to say there is no CSS vertical centering rule that can automagically center your portrait & landscape images on screen. Perhaps if you display all your portait images in one division and all your landscapes in another you can apply the correct top margin. Or consider using another scripted gallery based on JQuery or Lightbox.

Missing plug-in for gallery videos

Several videos from Apples home page and product galleries are giving me a missing plugin prompt on the video window (example iOS 5 gallery video) and display the circle of bars like it is attempting to stream the video but never plays. Any ideas or solutions. I am running the latest Lion OS.

Need sa password set by Web PI for gallery app install

I am a newbie just trying to get up and running in .net
I installed VS2012 Express via Web PI. The "packages" seem to also include many versions of SQL Server:
SQL Server Express 2008 R2 SP2
Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0 SP1
Microsoft SQL Express LocalDB Edition 11.0
When I try to install a sample app from the Web Gallery, it asks for the sa password for SQL Server. I never set it and don't know how to. I sure would be grateful for a push off the diving board into the deep end.

Do you have access on SQL server?
If yes than you might reset the lost the password
Or you can create a new SQL login and provide the password and use it for installation

Duplicate objects for gallery

I have tried a couple of times to duplicate objects, in
different ways, so I can later put image into the objects. The
problem is that it works in Flash but when i try it out in my
browser or my friends browser it wount work at all.
So if there is one out there that can explain this or can
point me into right directions it would be alot of help.

Not really, as Coherence only compares keys for equality, not the values, when deciding where to store the objects.
What you could do however, is something along the lines of what I described in the previous post -- you could introduce an intermediary pointer/reference object that would only contain an id of your true value object:

Assuming your object is much bigger than its key/identifier, this approach could save you a lot of space in the cluster, as each reference object is very small, while still allowing you to access your value object using different keys and dereferencing:
MyObject myObj = ((MyObjectReference) myRefCache.get(1)).getValue();
You could replace key 1 with 2 or 3 above and the result would be the same.
