Pioneer car stereo and iOS 7?

I recently purchased a Pioneer car stereo so that I could play music from my iPod Touch 5G. (My stock stereo did not have a conntection). I uploaded the new iOS 7 and plugged it in the morning on the way to work and there was an error on the car stereo. Then the iPod said (this is not a compatible device). Obviously it is the new OS that caused this. What can I do?  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not tell me that I have to contact Pioneer to rectify the issue. THANK YOU!!

- First reset the car system, and reset the iPod,
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Contact Pioneer. Maybe there is firmware update for the car system
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem then the iOS update broke compatibility. That happens sometimes. You will have to wait for a iOS update or a firmware update to the car system

This is a typical response from the manufacturer. Did you try the fix that Lawrence mentioned. When Apple or any other phone manufacturer update phone software, they have the latest Bluetooth installed. It is usually the problem with the radio manufacturer that they devices are using the older Bluetooth protocols. You can try this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581 and see if anything there helps, but generally it requires the radio manufacturer to update their firmware.

  • Ios 8.3/iPhone 6 problem connecting to Pioneer car stereo

    Pioneer model AVH-X2600.
There are two ways to connect to my car stereo to play music: iPod mode or Bluetooth.  Prior to 8.3 the BT connection would automatically pause my music after about 10 seconds.  After I push Play on the stereo it would continue on without issue.  Following the 8.3 update, after about 10 seconds on the BT connection there is this awful scratching/skipping noise, not unlike a skipping cd.  But after 5-10 seconds of that, everything is back to normal.
Prior to 8.3 the iPod mode would take a good 20 secs to connect, but then everything would play normally.  Now, with 8.3, it won't connect at all.
I don't have any problems with BT connections to other speakers, so maybe this is a Pioneer problem??  Anyone else having this same problem?

Apple is messing with car connectivity for the new car functionality. The "updates" are breaking iPod mode on multiple vehicles. iOS 8.4 Beta 1 is even worse. Connects fine but most functionality is broken.

  • Deperately need help with my iPod and Pioneer Car Stereo

I just bought Pioneer's newest deck from Best Buy. The Model number of the deck is DEH-P6800MP. It has a mini jack (2.5 mm stereo jack) on the front of the deck that you can plug your iPod into. I purchased the little adaptor that allows me to just plug the iPod in using the Headphone Jack. It works great. I can use my click wheel to navigate the menus and the sound is awesome...except for one thing, it only plays through the right side speakers. I thought maybe the Fader needed to be adjusted on the deck but everything is dead center. I thought maybe something was wrong with the deck but the Tuner and CD player both work perfectly. I even tried using different cables with no success. When I called Best Buy they told me they were familiar with the problem and to download the newest software for my iPod and it should fix it. It didn't! I am so frustrated by this. I paid alot of money for this deck thinking I wouldn't have to buy any additional interfaces and would never have to deal with an FM transmitter again. Can anybody help?
Fifth Generation 60 Gig iPod   Windows XP

After plugging my walkman in and experiencing the same problem, I figured it must be the adaptor. I went to the local Radio Shack and picked up a mini-jack adaptor that was indeed Stereo. Thankfully it worked!!! I can't tell you how happy my family and I are to have all our music available in the family vehicle. Thanks for your help and @#$% Best Buy for selling me not one but two car stereos under the false pretense that I wouldn't need anything else to hook-up my iPod and then not having any idea how to help me when I needed it.

  • Blutooth Problem with car stereo and iPhone5

Got new iPhone 5 yesterday and paired it with car stereo for handsfree use. When I make a call I can use radio answer button and the speakers.  When I receive a call I can only use handset. iPhone 4 worked fine so I doubt it is the car. I deleted and repaired the phone yet still the same issue. Help?

        Hey nippers1!
It does sound like we have a conflict with your device and your car Bluetooth. Thanks for doing that great troubleshooting! I would like to ask, have you checked with your car manufacture to see if the phone was compatible with your car's Bluetooth? Sometimes different devices that have different Bluetooth profiles will work differently. Can other iPhone 5s connect at all? Can your iPhone 5 connect and use other Bluetooths fully? Also, are you having any problems with making and receiving calls in general? Also, is your device up to date? Please make sure it is on the most current software. Please report back!

  • Ipod Adapter for Pioneer Car Stereo

Hi there experts and wannabe experts.
I just got a new Pioneer car deck with a USB iPod connecter. When I connect my iPod (which is 4-5 years old) an error message appears. According to the manual, my Ipod is too old. So the good people at Pioneer want me to buy what appears to me to be an external drive that I would basically transfer all of my music over to. The price is around $130. This seems ridiculous to me and I am thinking there must be some other kind of adapter out there. I'd rather get a new Ipod than that dumb Pioneer dealie. BUT, it seems kinda stupid because we have two older Ipods with tons of memory and they both work great.
    Any ideas?
    Much appreciated!
    -Ln

You need to be more specific. If you're just looking for some kind of interface to work with a radio he/she already has, then I would need to know what kind of radio it is, or if it is a factory radio, I would need to know Make, model and year of the vehicle to give you some ideas. If you are looking for a new radio, then most of your aftermarket radio manufacturers make iPod compatible radios that simply need to have a cable added and you can plug an iPod directly into the new radio and control it with the radio. This allows text to be shown on the radio display as well as charges the iPod. I currently work with Alpine and Kenwood and both of them offer a full speed interface. Full speed is kind of important as some of the older interfaces were slow and cumbersome to operate.
Give me a little more info. and I'm sure I can help you out.

  • USB Car Stereo and Creative Zen To

    Hi all,
I understand that plugging my Zen touch 20GB into a car stereo using its integrated USB port wont work. However, If I drag my MP3s into the Data storage section of my player (so it will be acting as a storage device), will they play through the car stereo with USB?
    Thanks!

    Amraam,
The Data storage section of the Zen Touch isn't of Mass storage class so I don't think it will work with your car stereo system assuming those stereo system work with mass storage class device.

  • IPhone 5 connected to Pioneer car stereo has no sound

I have a Pioneer AVIC-X940BT head unit and an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.01. I connected the iPhone to the head unit via a Lighting to 30-pin adapter. At first I couldn't get the iPhone to communicate with the head unit but after doing a hard reset on the iPhone it is communicating...sort of. If I use Pandora, Aha Radio or try to play my music on the iPhone the controls come up but there is no sound. If I use the iPhone with my headphones I have sound. I install AppRadio from the iTunes store but that didn't help.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions someone might have.
    Rob

Okay... no replies from anybody, but fortunately, it seems that the IOS 5.1 update fixed all the volume issues.  Hopefully this helps somebody else.

  • 6300 connection to my pioneer car stereo

My 6300 connects to my BT stereo but I cant transfer my phonebook from the phone, its says this is because the radio is considered to be a headset according to the phone, can this be altered? thanks.

Unless the BT stereo have a profile that supports phone book, I don't think it's possible. Some BT devices is FW upgradable ask your dealer if it is.

  • Ever since I downloaded the iOS 6 update, my car stereo no longer works like it did before

My Pioneer car stereo worked exactly like it was supposed to with my iPhone 4s. By syncing to the car stereo, I could listen to all of my music on my iPhone and receive Pandora in the car.  Since I downloaded the iOS 6 update two weeks ago, my car stereo has basically become inert, no longer syncs to my iPhone and has turned my expensive car stereo into a glorified CD player.  I googled this problem first and noticed many other people had the exact same problem that I have.  Since I can't undo the iOS 6 update (****, I wish I could), is there anyone out there with a similar problem and is there anything to remedy this problem. I will never download an Apple update again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would love to see an update on issues like this.
I have the pioneer avh-3400bh.  Prior to iOS6 on my iphone 4, everything worked as it should.  Upon updating to ios6 on the 4, and now also with the iphone 5, my head unit will play BT audio, but it receives no track/data information.  Using USB, I can no longer use my phone to browse songs, I can only use the head unit control.  the phones tell me that an accessory is connected and won't allow me to do anything.  Same for the pandora app

  • Car stereo not compatible with iPhone since iOS 7

Since installing iOS 7, my iPhone 4S is no longer compatible with my Pioneer car stereo to use video. I can still access my music and contact for bluetooth, but when I try to use Netflix for example, it gives an error message on my phone. This was working normally when I was using iOS 6, so there is a glitch with iOS 7. I can't seem to get any help from Pioneer or Apple support...so I'm asking you folks to help me please! Is there a way to get this working again or do I have to wait for the next software update?

In another thread on this issue, Brendan writes:
Turns out restarting my car and/or rebooting my iphone "fixed" the issue. Apparently this was unrelated to the iOS 7.2 upgrade. Honda + iPhone has been rock solid (even if the Honda Fit UI is terrible), so I'm not sure what to make of this problem. Maybe a glitch? Who knows.
Here is the URL for that thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/25211736?ac_cid=tw123456#25211736
His suggestion worked for me: turn off your car, completely shut-off your phone and let it sit a few minutes. Then reboot phone and start car and try again.
    Good luck!

  • IPhone 5 Bluetooth Audio Problem w/ Car Stereo (Pioneer AVH-P3300BT)

I tried looking around to see if anyone else had this issue, and didn't find an answer.
I have a Pioneer AVH-P3300BT car stereo, and while it doesn't play music via bluetooth, it does have a very nice setup for talking on the phone.
It's always worked fine with my iPhone 4, 4S, and also several Android handsets. It even worked fine on my 4S after upgrading to iOS 6. But now I have an iPhone 5, and the audio quality is just horrendous. I can kind of hear the person on the other end, but according to whoever I'm talking to, my voice sounds garbled and "demonic". The iPhone 5 on iOS 6 is the only device this happens with. Is there a fix for this, or is it at least a known bug? I would hate for my expensive car audio setup to be rendered useless for the purpose I bought it.
The deck also displays other information from the connected phone, such as signal strength and battery level. When the iPhone 5 is connected, it shows a dead battery (even when full) and a completely full signal (which is almost never really true).
I can use the phone with my Plantronics bluetooth headset and there are no sound quality issues there.

Same here. Why doesn't anyone from support offer a Solution or at least reply????
This issue has nothing to do with your brand of audiosystem. I talked to quite a few iPhone 5-ers and they ALL have the same issue.
    @Apple solve this!!!! And reply!!

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen skipping and popping via USB car stereo...

I have a Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD car stereo and have the iOS 4.2.1 installed on my iPod Touch 4th Gen. Since 4.0.2 my iPod Touch has been flawless with playback. We all know the infamous 4.1 problems with the skipping of music via USB car in-dash car stereos. NOW, with the iOS 4.2.1 there is no skipping whatsoever. However, there is a lot of popping in the playback of my car stereo via USB. I've did a factory restore with iTunes and used some dust remover (air spray container) in the connector on the bottom of the iPod and also used the same dust remover on my USB syncing cable that I use in my car. Does anyone know what the problem may be? Thanks in advance.

I can't help with an answer, but i have noticed the same thing whenever i hook my ipod up to my pioneer 510-ub through the usb...all other mp3s and flashdrives work fine. the pops only occur when the ipod is hooked up.
