Pioneer dvr110D in external case (Conceptronic )

I need help, please!
I have G4 with OS 9.2,Toast 5.2.3,
Pioneer DVR 110D in the
Conceptronic external case with USB2 connection.
And the problem is that the Toast writes the message that "No CD recorder is found".
What should I do???!!
(I've asked that question in someone's topic already but didn't got the answer, so I'm opening the new one)

When I insert a cd to the burner it shows on the desktop, does it mean something?
Yes. But what it means depends on whether it's a commercially pressed CD, a burned CD-R, a burned CD-RW, a blank CD-R or -RW, or any of several kinds of DVDs or blank DVD media. Please tell us which of these possible types of media your drive is able to read, and which it isn't (if any).
If the drive can read all sorts of discs but can't burn any — either using Disc Burner or Toast — then one of two possibilities is likely: either a) the above-mentioned conflict between Apple's disc burning-related software and Toast is interfering, and you need to disable one or the other; or b) the drive unit is not supported by the versions of Toast and Disc Burner you are using.
The appearance of any kind of optical disc on the desktop establishes that your drive enclosure, your FireWire cable, and your Mac's FireWire port are working.
