Pivot Graph

How do i create a graph similar to pivot table.
I have data
Location, Week_No, Amount
A 01 10000
B 01 12020
C 01 10000
A 02 20300
B 02 15000
C 02 15400
A 03 10000
B 03 12020
C 03 10000
I need to display a line graph as 'Location' will be the line, 'week_No' is display in X-axis, Amount in Y-Axix
I can dispay this data in adf using pivot table. but how do we display in a graph.

i made a pivot query and created the graph.

Top 10 Values in Pivot Graph, but not in Report level..

We have an urgent requirement in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.6
We have one Count measure column and Supplier column in my report. And now my client wants to show all the records in Table level. But, they want to show only top 10 records in pivot graph.
If we can apply calculations like TopN, Rank, they will impact to Table view also. But, we dont want any conditions to table view.
Please guide us how to handle this..

Create one more measure column using topn or rank function and use it only for pivot graph, you can exclude this column in table view.

Hi
I have one chart graph report in 10g.I migrated 11g.
In 10 i selected creteria tab in Time,ID,Name,Addrss,Am1,Amount2,Amount3,........................
In chart graph(Line-Bar) X axis is "Time" and Y axis Vertical bar is "Amount1" and Line is "Amount2)
Now graph result displays based on this 3 columns(Time,Amount1 and ampount2) not based on creteria selected columns.
In 11g
The same report not showing correct data.(Mismatch 10g and 11g)
When i recreate pivot graph report instead of chart graph report and i selected "server complex agg" in pivot view then data will matching.
My Question.
1.10g chart graph and 11g chart graph functionality same or ?
e.g
in 10g
graph result displays based on this 3 columns(Time,Amount1 and ampount2) not based on creteria selected columns.
But 11g retrun based on ceteria selection am i correct?
In 11g,If i seleted this 3 column only in criteria tab then 10g report matching.
2.All chart report in 10g we have to convert pivot view in 11g or no need?

If you edit your chart, check the columns in "Layout > Line-Bar Graph > Bar and Lines > Group by section" you'll see most of your columns here. you'll have to either remove unnecessary columns from criteria tab or drag them in "Excluded" section.
If you pull more than necessary columns in criteria, the analysis result will be shown as per the logic attached to all these columns. Try to keep only columns that are necessary for final output.

Show View doesn't display the views present in the report.

I add a section to the dashboard page. I add a report into the section which has pivot / graph and table view. But, when i click on the reports -> properties - > show view, I don't see any of the views. Why is it so?

Hi Vinutha,
Seems you have not saved the report after viewing result in other views.
Just run them in other views and save it.. go to dashboards now and check

I have a report containing product,store,offers per store as dimensions and spending,Buying households as measures.My requirement is to show 'Store' in a section and corresponding report(which contains product,offers of that store,spending and Buying HH) and individual graphs for spending and buying households( 2graphs).I mean if I have 3 stores, I should get 3 sections of stores and each section should contain corresponding report and graphs. The main requirement is that "USER" should able to export or print the whole report at a time.
I used pivot table to achieve this but I could only show one graph per store but I need two graphs for both spending and Buying HH.Please help me how to achieve.

How to create a graph for the exact values in pivot table

how can i create a graph exactly that shows pivoted values. i created one pivot table and deleted the table view. when i am creating the graph it is not showing the graph for pivot table values.

for that you need to edit the pivot table properties and then select graph pivot results tab in the top middle .. hope this helps

it is better for 2 different questions,make 2 differents threads...
You used the 2ond solution(google???),put in the dashboard...html enabled...and check your pdf again.
Moreover,printing pdf with answer is discouraged...always prefer Xml Publisher.

How change the graph dynamically based on pivot table.

My Report having pivot table and bar chart. Organization Name column set as pivot table prompts in pivot table.So Organization Name is appear as dropdown list.If i choose the diffrent Organization Names the pivot table data is according to the Organization Name but no changes in chart.How change the Graph dynamically based on pivot table.

Publisher 11.1.1.5 graph and pivot problem

I use publisher 11.1.1.5. My graph (for RICAVO) show only integer values and pivot table (for QTA) get the error message. Only normal table generation is successful. I used layout template editor.

The problem seems to be scientific notation. Values that are higher than 1000000 are automaticalli conver.ted in scientific notation and they aren't recognized in graphs and pivot.
Indeed online analyzer show this values with the integer part only, i.e. 4,5E10 is showed as 4. How i can avoid automatic scientific notation?

Problem with graph pivoted result

Hi Experts,
i created one report in pivot table view , in that one column having values like 30%,30-40%,40-50% so on...
so i placed that column in column section so..in the pivot view i got the column values like above..but, when i tried to check the graph pivoted result i am getting 6 to 7 individual pie charts(for 30% one pie chart,30-40
% one pie chart so onn..) for my report which is not required..
i need only single pie chart,,..
can any one help me pls

See the issue is very simple..
Solution is what I'm not able to get
when you put any column in section in pivot view its gives different views based on the column in pivot..
but unfortunately these views are placed vertically 1 below each other rather than placing them horizontally
If you can try by yourself in pivots the same thing you will get a better idea on what I'm talking about..
Drag a column into sections in pivot.. when i say sections it is something like row,measures,columns,sections,page in pivot tables..
Please check for solution and get back..

Problem with Pivot Table with Graph: Line Bar Combo

Hello people!
I have a problem with pivot table and line bar combo (all in the same view (pivot table))
I have some measures and one dimension in my report.
--------------measure1---measure2---measure3
Dim A.1
Dim A.2
Dim A.3
If I choose my graph line bar combo automatically choose "line" measure 3 (last measure in "Show Controls"). How can I do if I want my measure1 for line and I don't want modify my pivot table?

Ok, I'll explain my problem again. In my pivot table I add graph vision and I want in the same view (Pivot table). My graph is "Line Bar Combo" and I don't know how but the last of my measures belongs to right AXIS, if I change order of my measures I can see in my graph the measure that I want in my right axis BUT also it changes the order of my pivot table.
This is my problem. I think that I can do that with different views but I lose my selector view to view graphic and my pivot table at the same time.

I upgraded to the new Jdeveloper release and the Preview works.

I created a new application and the graphs work ok.

This just occured today 6/22/09.
When ever I preview a graph or pivot table i receive this message:
oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25002: Definition model.DataControls.dcx of type null not found
I drop the query on a form as a table and it works fine.
I have used Graphs before, and ahve never recieved this error.
I just remenbered, I was using the previous release of Jdeveloper when I built the graphs.
Probably nothing !!

I checked and the model.jpr is there.
I re-installed jdeveloper but the same error occurs.

I search my entire C drive for datacontrol.dcx and *.dcx and no files found.
I am usiing ADF.
The new application that I created that works in preview does not have this file.
I unstalled jdeveloper, downloaded a new copy, deleted Oracle directory, installed jdeveloper and results are the same.
Is the datacontrol.dcx file the same as the "datacontrol in the Data Controls Folder "?
The datacontrol is present the Data Controls Folder (model.jpr model.appmodule)
There are 3 messages in the log pertaining to DVT listed below.

Pivot Table - Stack Graph - mouse over for legends

Hi,
I have a Pivot table with Levels as the x axis, like level1, level2, level3, level4. The Y axis is stacked with Project names, each stack with the cost of the project. There are 40 projects, and the Legend looks too crowded because of so many projects.
Is there a way to display the Projects and the cost, when the mouse rolls over the stacks, currently it displays only the cost?

How do i change cursor when mouse over a Chart,Graph or Pivot table in 11g

hello everyone...!!
I wanted to change the cursor shape from that hand to an arrow .
As we know whenever the mouse cursor rolls over any button or pivot table ,chart or graphs it changes to a Hand shape, i wanted it to remain in the default arrow shape.
This is for obiee 11g.
Please help.

the above sol will only help you to see the cursor on the local machine
to make it visible on every machine
goto column properties >> additional CSS>>in css write cursor:default
then save changes system wide for these data type
Also make the same changes in the other datatypes also.......
