Based on what I see of your example, each row of your pivot table represents the grouping for the totals at the bottom. You are asking for value interaction on the grand total amount, but that's not possible as you have it because the totals are calculated numbers.
However, the desire to click on the "45" in your example is the same as saying "I want to see the details of the 'aa,bb, cc...' grouping."
In that case do your Value Interaction on the attribute corresponding to column that has "aa,bb,cc" and "dd,ee,ff" as its values. If the user clicks on the applicable row, the detail report and can display the details of that grouping.
    Hope that makes sense.

  • Using Measures in Rows Section of Pivot table view

    Hi,
i have a report with 6 columns, out of which A, B are dimensional and C,D,E,F are Fact columns(measures).
My requirement is to take Column A and Columns C,D,E in Rows section of Pivot table view with column F measure in Measures setion and column B in Columns Section.
I created the Pivot view as desired but the measure columns placed in Rows Section are not displaying the correct results
Can someone provide ur inputs on this.
    Thanks in advance.

For Pivot Table view Measures should be in Measures section only, then only those columns will show correct result

  • Exposing null row  in Pivot table

    Hi Gurus
I have a scenario here with pivot table ..when i am pulling the a bunch of columns in my pivot table the measures with null values is getting suppressed but i want to expose all the rows and their respective values (including null)

Sounds like what you want is to view data in dense form. We often do that here on my current project.
There are a couple ways to do it including outer joins, preserve dimensions, and cross joins. Depending on your scenario some options are better than others.
Here is a link that shows how to use cross joins. Personally this one is my preference.

  • One question in measures table heading of a pivot table view when using 11g

    Hi experts,
I have been working on OBIEE 10g for 2 years, and lately I started developing on OBIEE 11g. It is great to discover so many new features which make reporting so much easier and look better, meanwhile, I got confused by some detail changes they have made. I was able to overcome most of the difficulties I have met with, but now there is *1* I can not figure out. Any idea or suggestion is appreciated.
In OBIEE 10g, when we develop a report using a pivot table, we put column A and B in Rows aera and column C Measures aera, the result would look like this:
    / / A / / B / / C / /
    //VA1 //VB1// VC1//
    //VA1// VB1 //VC1//
But now I am using 11g, when I put these columns in the same aeres as I did in 10g, the result is surprising like this:
    / / BLANK / / C / /
    / / A / / B / / blank //
    //VA1 //VB1/|/ VC1//
    //VA1/|/VB1 // VC1//
It looks weird that it should put Rows labels and Measure labels in different lines and create blank labels, and barely makes any sense. I am OK with the blank above the Row labels, but not with the blank below the measure label. A blank label that separates a label and its value is not what I want.
Can anyone help me to make the pivot table look the same as it does in 10g? Or at least remove the blank label below the Measure label?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I am facing the same issue, have you solved it?

  • Pivot table measure heading

    Hi All,
I have a pivot table in the following format.
    Jan Feb Mar
    A 19 22 31
    B 12 21 44
    C 11 23 21
    D 12 34 28
    Where A,B,C,D are Measure Labels
I want to have a heading above the measure label.
    KPI Jan Feb Mar
    A 19 22 31
    B 12 21 44
    C 11 23 21
    D 12 34 28
    How to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Vino

I have no direct solution but may be you'll have to try this once
Add a new column to your first request and just put 2 in it.
Than combine your request with a similar request.
In this request you add a column with 1 in it (to make sure that this will become on the first line) and the other necessary objects.
Instead of your KPI dimension column, you put the text 'KPI' and for the measure an empty value.
Than hide your measure labels in the pivot table
and cast your the column with 1 and 2 in like case when 1=1 then 'KPI' else 'KPI Dimension'
Hope it's a bit clear and it will help you.

  • Extra Measure/Column on Pivot Table

    Hi at all,
i have a problem about the pivot table in obiee11g. I need an extra measure/column or a new table/pivot-table with new measures out of an other fact-table riht behind the first pivot table wich depends on the first pivot-table.
    Thx

Pull columns from both fact-tables, create 2 pivot tables.
Pivot table 1 is with 1st fact table and exclude measures from other fact table.
Pivot table 2 is with 2nd fact table and exclude measures from 1st fact table.
Add 2 Pivot views in the analysis
If it is helpful, please mark as correct or helpful
If this not helped, let us know in detail with columns for both pivot tables

  • Hiding a measure column in a pivot table in BI Answers

    Hi,
I need a report to have a hierachical format such as:
    Top Company
    Middle Company
Customer Name Customer Id Customer Creation Date
To achieve this, I apparently need to add a measure column to the Rows data, but I don't want to show it.
Would anyone know how I can hide a measure column in a pivot table?
    Many thanks,
    - Jenny

Measure Columns can't be hidden like an attribute. How ever you can use custom style sheet for Value and Header Properties to not show the measure.
for the "Custom CSS Style Options (HTML Only)" under measure properties of the column set "Use Custom CSS Style" value to 'display:none'.
Let me know if this worked.

    Try this:
Put the Measure Labels in the Rows section, the Company column in the Columns section, and your Measures in the Measures section.

  • Measure Values are not shown in the pivot tables

Measures without aggregation (in rpd) are not shown in pivot table.
Im trying to add multiple columns in the fact table as measures, one which is summable had has the SUM function and three which are not summable.
The initial report will be as follows and I have been able to get the data displayed.
    Year | Month| Company Name| SUM(C1)| C2|C3
However if I pivot the table as follows data in column C2 and C3 are not Displayed.
    Columns
         Year
              Month
              Company
    Rows
    Measure Lablel
    Measures
         SUM(C1)
                   C2
                   C3
Should we have an aggregation rule applued in C2 and C3 ?

Yes, all the column entries must have agg rule. You can specify one such as 'first' in the pivot table.

  • How to move excluded items into Measures in OBIEE 11g Pivot Table

    Hi All,
Need your help. Previously I have about 25 facts in my pivot table as rows. Now I need to add about 10 more. Adding new criteria only put the items into Excluded section. How can I move all these new items at once to the end of the existing facts? What I can do now is moving them one by one, and in the middle of existing facts, then move it again, because I can point my cursor to the end of them directly.
    Thanks a lot,
    Gajah.

I've tried to drag the fact heading, but I can't point my cursor to the end of existing list of facts (unfortunately they are all in the same fact group name). Do you have any suggestion on how to put the new facts at the end of the list?
    Thanks.

  • Pivot table without any measure columns

    Hi,
I have a requirement where all my report columns are from Dimension tables and i have no measure to display in the report.
But I need to create a Pivot table view for this requirement.
Can someone help me how to represent results in Pivot Table view without measure columns
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Sri,
    Try this it will work.
Add a dummy column in your measure section.
then in pivot view --> measure section --> dummy column -->more options -> format heading -->custom css style --> mark use custom css and give display:none
    and
more options -> format measure values -->custom css style --> mark use custom css and give display:none
    Thanks

    1) Make a duplicate layer of the measure column.
    2) Move the duplicate layer to the far left in the Rows section.
    3) Apply the desired sort order.
    4) Hide the duplicate layer column.
