Pivot without Corner Labels in Report
Hello,
I have a simple Pivot (2 Row Labels, 1 Fact). In the Pivot Section all Corner Lables (tick on Row) are visible. When I place the same Pivot into the Report Section I only see the label for the first Row and the Fact. The second is missing. Going back to the Pivot section all labels visible.
I tried to add more rows to the pivot. In the Report Section always the first Row Label and all Fact Labels are visible only. The rest is missing.
Any idea why?
Hyperion Interactive Reporting Studio 9.3.1
Thanks.
Hi,
After you placed the pivot on the Report section, did you try resizing it to let you see all the row-labels ?
Unfortunately, the Pivot section doesn't auto-expand, once we drag it on to Report section. We've to manually re-size it to display all the required fields/columns.

Displaying previous page without running it's report region sql?
Hi, I just created a button which is PREVIOUS and redirects to the previous URL. However I was hoping I could just display the previous pages report results again without re-running the report sql.
The PREVIOUS button seems to re-run the sql ... is there any way of just caching the previous pages sql results and then they are instantly displayed from the next page by pressing the PREVIOUS button?
ThanksScott, this command works great. If you dont submit the current page it is fine. Is there a way to branch back to the previous page disregarding the current pages submissions as if you submit the current page then the command will only branch back to the same page but before it was submitted?

How is it possible to draw a graph using without any label along the x-axis
Hi,
I created a bar-graph using the tabular data below:
public List getTabularData() {
List list = new ArrayList();
String[] rowLabels = {"Allocation","Forecast", "Bookings", "Loaded"};
for (int r = 0 ;r<rowLabels.length ;r++ ) {
if ( r == 0) {
list.add(new Object[]{"Alloc/Forecast",rowLabels[r],new Double(_allocation)});
if ( r == 1) {
list.add(new Object[]{"Alloc/Forecast",rowLabels[r],new Double(_forecast)});
if ( r == 2) {
list.add(new Object[]{"Booking/Loaded",rowLabels[r],new Double(_bkg)});
if ( r == 3) {
list.add(new Object[]{"Booking/Loaded",rowLabels[r],new Double(_loaded)});
return list;
This is creating a two groups "Alloc/Forecast" and "Booking/Loaded". Group labels are shown in the x-axis.
But I don't want to show the labels. Instead, only the graph with two groups without any labels in x-axis. How is it possible ?User,
I haven't tested this at all - you may want to have a look at the [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e12418/tagdoc/dvt_o1TickLabel.html]dvt:o1TickLabel component to see if it can suppress the labels.

Hi we run 2012 enterprise and I see a lot of articles about pivoting without an aggregate but honestly they all seem to use some sort of aggregate function, usually min because they can get away with it.
My data comes in as pk,colA_error,colB_error,colC_error...
Each error is an integer error code an there can be multiples and/or duplicates for the same column in the same pk. An error code can be null.
I'd like to pivot the data as follows...
pk, name of error column, error code. I have no problem getting rid of dupes independently of the pivot query. My column names are static.
Do I have a prayer?thx Scott, my bad. Unpivot was what i wanted and its working fine.
select pk_file,[ErrorC],[Column]
from (select pk_file,
[colA_Error],
[colB_Error]
from [dbo].[v_fileEdit]) p
unpivot
[ErrorC] for [Column] in ([colA_Error],
[colB_Error])
) as unpvt; -
ADF Pivot Table - Render Labels at all times
Hi,
(There already exists another post for this issue, but without any answer.)
In ADF Pivot table the column labels are not static, they are visible only when the mouse is moved over the labels. Is there some way to permanently display labels at all times?
Thanks,

How to display a keyfig without showing UOM in report
Hi
Our users donot want to see Unit of measure along with keyfigure in reports, how do we do this? If it is quantity, in FI area, it gives for something like 1000.000 HS0 or HS 2 etc... How can we change the property on key figure not to display this Unit of measure? Any help would be appreciated. Another question I have is how to delete certain query views from centralized location.
Thanks
PandiriHi
I have the same question. I have a key figure with Quantity type and UOM PC. I want to display quantity number without the units PC.
I think NODIM() function applies it to all key figures right? How do i apply it to only one key figure. the rest of the key figures I want units to be displayed.

How can you create a text field without a label?
I am creating a form and need to create identical text boxes one below another and for space reasons do not want a label on each one. How do I do this without selecting multiple fields?
Sorry you can't remove the label of a field. When the Label is on the Left (either left aligned or right aligned) then you can resize the label (using drag and drop) but there is still a min width that the label must have. You can also change the Label to be Above but that might not work with your spacing either.

Hi All
My issues using an Example,
I've a power pivot with 3 related tables, (two dimension tables and one measure table), then I created a pivot chart using
that 3 tables as source...
The pivot chart is a little complex... it takes some time to rebuild from the scratch... I have added 3 measures to the chart,
M1, M2, M3... but due to a business changes I need to refresh the measures M1, M2, M3 with information from a different source...
i.e. I need to drop the 3 measures from the Power Pivot, then I need to add them again with the same names, but when I drop
them from the power pivot table the pivot Chart Fields Values disappear and the chart obviously is refreshed without the 3 measures... :S
Question: How can I drop a column from a power pivot table, then add it again with the same name without affect the Pivot
Chart Fields... i.e. only when I do the refresh manually the charts are affected... but once the name of the columns are the same.. the charts don't change the layout....
Thanks Very Much!!!
LuisLuis,
Any luck with this?
Thanks!

Unable to get xAxis and yAxis label in report
Hi,
I am creating a timeSeriesChart under Report tab for one of my Plugin. As per the management plugin guide, I am trying to get a display label against my X-axis and Y-axis coordinates. But in the final report there are no labels displayed for X axis and y axis.
l_param_values := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_LIST();
l_param_values.extend(4);
l_param_values(1) := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_RECORD(
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.sqlStatement',
'SELECT MD.COLUMN_LABEL, MD.COLLECTION_TIMESTAMP, MD.Value
FROM MGMT$METRIC_DETAILS MD WHERE MD.TARGET_TYPE=''my_custom_plugin''
AND MD.METRIC_NAME=''SNChasActualTemperature''
AND MD.TARGET_GUID=??EMIP_BIND_TARGET_GUID??
ORDER BY MD.COLLECTION_TIMESTAMP'
l_param_values (2) := mgmt_ip_param_value_record (
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.ChartParamController.chartType',
'timeSeriesChart'
l_param_values (3) := mgmt_ip_param_value_record (
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.ChartParamController.width',
'400'
l_param_values (4) := mgmt_ip_param_value_record (
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.yAxisLabel',
'Degree Celcius'
l_param_values (5) := mgmt_ip_param_value_record (
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.yAxisLabel',
'Time'
l_curr_order := l_curr_order + 1;
l_curr_row := l_curr_row + 1;
l_element_guid := mgmt_ip.add_element_to_report_def (
p_report_guid => l_report_guid,
p_element_name_nlsid => 'IPMSG_USER_CHART_FROM_SQL',
p_element_type_nlsid => 'IPMSG_ANY_TARGET_TYPE',
p_header_nlslid => 'Chassis Actual Temperature',
p_element_order => l_curr_order,
p_element_row => l_curr_row,
p_parameters => l_param_values ,
p_targets => null
Any pointers would be surly of great help.
Regards
SanjayHi Sanjay,
Use 5 instead of 4 in the l_param_values array declaration line:
l_param_values.extend(4);
Also, "oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.yAxisLabel" should be "oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.ChartParamController.yAxisLabel". The extensibility guide doc has a typo (does not include ChartParamController in the namespace) and this will be addressed in the next update.
and you have "yAxisLabel" twice. I assume one of these you intend to be "xAxisLabel" except "xAxisLabel" is not supported (this value is implicit).

Localization of CrossTab row and column label Crystal Report RPT file
Dear all,
Does anyone know how to support multiple locale texts (English and French) in CrossTab Row and Column Header labels and grand total labels? Is there a way to parameterize text objects CrossTab in one single Crystal Report RPT file to use some sort of locale resource file containing text string for different languages based on the users of RPT at runtime? The idea is to use one single RPT file to generate report for different locale text for CrossTab Row and Column abels and grand total labels instead of creating RPT files per locale?Hi,
Does the database have a column that identifies the language? If it does, then you could create two separate cross-tabs and place them in different sections and conditionally suppress the section depending on the language from the database.
That's the only thing that can be done in my opinion.

Localization of labels in report
Hi,
I am trying to localize labels used in reports - for this i've created report in Crystal Reports 2008 designer. I am using JRC to edit the labels used in this report. Japanese character inserted appears as question marks in viewer. when i used the same edited report in other machine i saw the correct characters, which means report is editted properly but somehow could not be rendered properly.
What is this problem? how is localization of report content handled using JRC?
Thanks
-chitveshIs it in the web viewer, applet (desktop) viewer or PDF?
Question marks indicate a character encoding issue.
Which version of the JRC are you using?

Top 10 Values in Pivot Graph, but not in Report level..
Hi Frnds,
We have an urgent requirement in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.6
We have one Count measure column and Supplier column in my report. And now my client wants to show all the records in Table level. But, they want to show only top 10 records in pivot graph.
If we can apply calculations like TopN, Rank, they will impact to Table view also. But, we dont want any conditions to table view.
Please guide us how to handle this..
Regards,
RaghuCreate one more measure column using topn or rank function and use it only for pivot graph, you can exclude this column in table view.

Setting Margins for Mailing Labels in Reports 6i
I would like to know how to configure the margins (vertical/horizontal properties) for different mailing label formats. I am unable to correctly set them to use for Avery labels. MS Access has a great label wizard that brings up a variety of mailing label formats and allows you to choose from the list. I have found nothing similar in Oracle Reports. Have been a DBA/developer of Oracle Applications for 20+ years. Help!
Where you set the measurement ?
Did you follow this ?
@ Report Object Navigator
1. Select Layout Model >> Main Section then properties
set Width, Height and Orientation under Section
Adjust your layout and
Try...
Hope this works..

My Multi Issue v14 App (24124) was just rejected by Apple. Apparently because storage of the data (folios?) was not iCloud compatible. Is this related to v14? Would building a v15 app resolve the issue? or is there some other problem? Please advise..
