PivotTable Operation Failed (Randomly when selecting slicers)

I sporadically get the following error when selecting a slicer in the web version of my report:
PivotTable Operation Failed
An error occurred while working on the Data Model in the workbook. Please try again
Most of what I have found on the internet points to have a syntax error in a measure. However, this error does not always happen and the slicers work fine in Excel so I don't think that is the issue.

Any suggestions for Carly?
You can also try asking this in the Power Pivot forum or an Excel forum.

  • "Package operation failed" error when trying to create ICAP file

Why is this happening? I create a new assignment and then select "Package for Incopy" and I get the error message "Package operation failed". What am I doing wrong?  For draft 1 of my Mac Indesign CS5 file I created a new "assignment 1" and ICAP file and emailed to my PC Incopy CS4 client. They sent IDAP file back and all was well. I need to send draft 2 to client the same way but why am I unable to create a new ICAP file? I can't even replace the ICAP file from draft 1. Please help. Thank you!  Lynn

Did you ever get it to work?
We are having the same problem.
    Indesign CS4 on Mac
    InCopy CS5 on PC
Though we also get an odd message when we reopen the InCopy doc, that there is another version created in 1999 which we might want to use.

  • Outlook 2010: Getting a "the operation failed" error when accepting invite from inbox

One of the people I support is using Win 7 and Office 2010. When accepting an invite in his inbox, he gets "This Operation Failed", however this behaviour only occurs for internal staff who email him through Exchange. I emailed him from an external email
address and he was able to accept the invite and have it appear in his calendar correctly.
We are running Exchange 2007 and his client is Office 2010.
I'm going to try the following to try to get to the bottom of things
    1. Check account settings
    2. Disable antivirus
    3. Try non cached mode
    4. Check Delegate access?
    5. Check event logs
    6. Office updates / service packs
    7. Repair job of Office 2010
    8. Reinstall Office 2010 or install 2007
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Glad your issue has been resolved.

  • IAC operation failed error mac

I've been dealing with the accursed IAC operation failed error when saving edited photos - and apparently this is a common problem on Macs.  I'm wondering if anyone has taken the free update to Yosemite yet and if so does the error continue with that OS? (I currently have PSE 11 & Mavericks.)

Had Elements 12.0.  Upgraded to Yosemite.  Had IAC operation failed error repeatedly.  Tried upgrading to Elements 12.1 at Adobe recommendation. Upgrade failed repeatedly.  Bought Elements 13.0.  IAC operation failed error still here.
    1. frustrated this error remains
    2. peeved Adobe is never around when I need them, and they cast me to the "community".  Help from the community is remarkably good, but I just gave Adobe $80 and their product doesn't work right - they owe me support, and now.

  • The Operation Failed when trying to accept a scheduler by selecting Send A Response

    Hi,
Please help as I am getting error "The Operation Failed" as soon as i select "Send the Response Now" when
accepting schedulers. I have tried to delete & create new profile a few times then i can accept scheduler once before i hit the error again. There was an article which asked to remove all third party add-ins & i have done that as well leaving only
MS Exchange Add-In & OneNote Notes about Outlook Items.
HP EliteBook 8460p - Win 7 Pro, Svc Pack 1
MS Office Home and Business 2010
    Antivirus - AVG

    Hi,
Please follow below steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Please use Scanpst.exe tool to to repair your data file. Please refer to this article on how to use scanpst.exe:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/repair-outlook-data-files-pst-and-ost-HA102749454.aspx
Try to start Outlook in safe mode and see if issue presists. I understand that you have already tried manually removing add-ins, but please try to launch Outlook client in safe mode and see if there is any difference. Conflicts with one or more of the add-ins
    might cause this problem.
Try to disable your Anti Virus and have a try again.
Please have a try and feel free to post back.

  • "SQL Operation failed" When deleting forms EPMA

    V11.1.2.1 - Planning through EPMA.
I have a form which I made to test something that I cant get rid of. I can edit it, I can hide it and I can change any normal setting you would expect on it. When I open it, everything appears as expected. This is happening for just one form, I can create and delete others in the same folder. I've tried renaming it and deleting and that still doesn't work.
I just cant select it and click "Delete": I get an error message saying "The SQL Operation failed. Check logs for details.
Does anyone know which logs in particular might point me to the cause of the problem?
Has anyone had and resolved this before?
    Regards
    Ed

Check the user_projects/<instancename>/diagnostics/logs/starter or services depending on linx/windows. Check the Hyperion Planning log to see what errors are generated in the log when you attempt the delete. You should see an sql error message.
If you don't see any messages you want to set planning property debug_enabled TRUE (the instructions for this are in the troubleshooting documentation for EPM) and restart the server.
    Retry and reexamine the logs.

  • Operation failed when trying to Save a Custom Function to the Repository

When attempting to save a Custom Function to the Repository in Crystal Reports XI R2, I get the following error message:
"Operation failed: You do not have edit right on: "Default folder for custom functions".
Where is the default folder for custom functions and how do I grant it the "Edit" right?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi Jim,
To give rights to a user or a group to save custom function in the Repository:
    1. Open the Business View Manager
    2. Logon to your BusinessObjects Enterprise as the Administrator
    3. In the "Repository Explorer",  right click on the "Custom Functions" folder, and in the contextual menu, select "Edit Rights"
    4. In the "Edit Rights" window, add the user or group that you want to give the right to save a custom function to the repository, and set the "Edit" right to "Granted". Finally, click on the "OK" button to accept the change.
The user will then be able to save a Custom Function to the Repository in Crystal Reports XI R2.
Also, note that it is important that the "Everyone" group "Edit" right isn't set to "Denied" as every user is part of the "Everyone" group.
If the group "Everyone" is set to denied, it will take precedence to the user rights, so nobody will be able to save custom function. So ensure the "Everyone" group right is either set to "Inherited" or "Granted".

    The system is as follows:
Size of .pst file: 2.3 GB (Unicode format so there should be plenty of space left)
    OS: Windows 7 (64-Bit)
    Application: Outlook 2013 (32-Bit)
The user upgraded from Outlook 2010 a few months ago and the error message has only recently started appearing on startup. I thought it was a corrupt mail profile, so I have already tried creating a new mail profile, as well as the repairing tool in Outlook.
I even tested another email account and that worked just fine. So apparently it is something wrong with the specific user's account/profile and not something wrong with the computer - since my email account worked fine on his computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same error message, only in my situation Outlook would only open successfully every 4 or 5 attempts. When Outlook would open (versus just hanging at the splash screen), I would get two dialog boxes with the warning/error message.
After I clicked okay I could get into Outlook.
Previously I experienced this problem running my Office 2010 client with my Exchange 2007 mailbox on my old laptop.  The problem followed my mailbox through an Exchange 2010 migration (so new Exchange org), client upgrade to Outlook 2013, and a new
laptop (so I knew it wasn't a corrupt profile).  This led me to the conclusion that it was a corrupt item(s) in my mailbox.
To resolve the issue, I archived *everything* in my mailbox to a PST file, ran SCANPST to fix the corruption, and then uploaded everything back into my Exchange mailbox one folder at a time, stopping after each folder to close and restart Outlook so I could
narrow down which folder had the corrupt item if the problem recurred.  I'm happy to say my issue is now resolved.

  • "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found" error when double clicking on an ics file

    Operation System: Windows 8 Pro
    System Type: 64-bit Operating System
Office: MS Office Professional Plus 2013
I am getting "The attempted operation failed. An object could not be found" error when I double click on an .ics file to an appointment to my calender. My outlook.com account's data file is set as default and this error only occurs if
that is the default data file. I thought that maybe my profile is corrupted. So, I opened up a new profile with the below steps and only add my outlook.com account there:
1-) Open up the Control Panel and go to Mail section
    2-) Click "Show Profiles"
3-) Click "Add" and give a name to your profile.
4-) Configure your outlook.com account (with Auto Account setup, not manual steps)
5-) Finally, set that profile to be used always.
Then, I opened up the Outlook 2013 and clicked on the .ics file to add that appointment but got the same error.
Is this a known issue or specific to me?
    Thanks!

yes, I have the same problem.
The workaround of saving the ICS file and then importing it into the current calendar
    works,
    but the ICS calendar
displays in other section, NOT in the section of my old events.
    why  ??

  • When you try to send or to receive email in Outlook 2010, you may receive one of these error messages: 0x8004010F: Outlook data file cannot be accessed. or 0x8004010F: The operation failed. An object could not be found.

0x8004010F: The operation failed. An object could not be found.
    1. reviewed Profile instructions
    2. Ran SytTools thinking it would fix the error. NO although I could send received I ended up with a giant pst
    3. Back to Profile Instructions.
    4. Set up new profile with my email address. email address tested well. Run Outlook. loads as outlook data PST
and  gmail address PST.  Deleted all the Gmail subscriptions to improve speed. Original error was gone but have two GIGANIC PST FILES.
    5. Set up another new profile with my email address and a named pst.  Run Outlook under that Profile -
comes up with newly named pst and the gmail addrress pst (although I can't figure out where that pst is located. Will not let me use email address as default Profile.  Tried different approaches and still ended up always with the gmail address pst.  Deleted
all profiles but email address and comes   up.
    6. Should I just go ahead and use the gmail address pst  I need to import data or download data from gmail
    to get last years correspondence.e
    7. Outlook is my lifeblood, I am in communications and every submitted email gets moved to a file with an update.
    Help?
    8. One option is to merge psts but might make worse mess.
    Thanks.  Beautiful Beach weather here!

To resolve error 0x8004010F , identify the current location of your default Outlook data file, and then create a new Outlook profile.
Step 1- Locate the default Outlook data file
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    In Control Panel, click Mail.
In the Mail Setup - Outlook dialog box, click Show Profiles.
Select your current Outlook profile, and then click Properties.
In the Mail Setup - Outlook dialog box, click Data Files.
Select the Data Files tab in the Account Settings dialog box, and then note the name and location of the default data file for your profile (a check mark will denote the default data file).
    Click Close.
Step 2 - Create a new Outlook profile
Step 3 - Configure your new Outlook profile as the default profile

  • "Active Directory operation failed on DC " when assigning Send As permissions on a distribution group

I'm trying to give a mailbox user Send As right for a distribution group. But the cmdlet comes back with this:
    Get-DistributionGroup MyGroup | Add-ADPermission -user albert -ExtendedRights Send-As
Active Directory operation failed on <DC fqdn>. This error is not retriable. Additional information: Access is denied.
    Active directory response: 00000005: SecErr: DSID-03151E07, problem 4003 (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0
        + CategoryInfo          : WriteError: (0:Int32) [Add-ADPermission], ADOperationException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : FE24751F,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.RecipientTasks.AddADPermission
What could be the problem, considering the items below :
    - inheritance is not broken to the level of the distribution group object
    - the account used to run the cmdlet is a member of the Organization Management group
    - creating a new distribution group in the same OU and running the command works as expected; checking the permission for this group against MyGroup (using Get-DistributionGroup testgroup | Get-ADPermission | Sort-Object User,AccessRights | ft user, accessrights, extendedrights, properties)
    shows no differences.
    - adding the permission using ADUC results in the user being able to Send As the group, however I'm trying to find out the root cause of the Powershell cmdlet execution problem
    - there is no Deny permission on the group's ACL
    - the group didn't have the "Hide Membership" feature of Exchange 2003 applied, so there shouldn't be any non-canonical ACL issues

Anyone ever come up with a solution to this?  I get something similar when Activesync tries to create objects on user containers.
Exchange ActiveSync doesn't have sufficient permissions to create the "CN=Test User,OU=Domain Users,DC=domain,DC=com" container under Active Directory user "Active Directory operation failed on DELL7S09.domain.com. This error is not retriable.
    Additional information: Access is denied.
    Active directory response: 00000005: SecErr: DSID-03151E07, problem 4003 (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0
Make sure the user has inherited permission granted to domain\Exchange Servers to allow List, Create child, Delete child of object type "msExchActiveSyncDevices" and doesn't have any deny permissions that block such operations.
    Details:%3
So...I get this after I introduced a MS Exchange 2010 SP3 RU8 server into my environment.  You can find LOTS of people suggesting the same fix but I've not found anything that deviates from those fixes:  check the "inherit permissions",
and give full permis to msExchActiveSync devices for the Exchange Servers security group, blah blah.
I got to this point by following a Migrate to Exch2010 paper by MS.  I have no Win2k servers, my old Exchange server is Win2003r2SP2 with Exch2003SP2 fully patched.  The Exch server is also a DC.  I installed a new 2012r2 server and then patched
it.  Installed Exch2010SP3Ru8 and all seems well.
The old Exch2003 server is still in production.  My iPhone army connects remotely for mail, and all works great.  I created a new Test User in AD, gave it a mailbox on the 2003 server, and waited a bit.  It eventually shows up in the Server
Manager on the new 2010 Exch Server.  I send it a bunch of emails, connect to it with an outook client on a Win7 machine, all works.  I go to the SM on the 2010 box and migrate the mailbox to the new server.  It works.  I can connect with
outlook, send receive mail to other users in the org.  I then try to connect with my iPhone and I get the message in Event Viewer over and over.
Went so far as to Promo the new 2012 server to a DC.  seems to be fine.  Now am wondering if I Demote the old Exch2003 server will it help...or cause a new crop of issues....
