How do i get pictures off of my 3G onto my new 4S? i backed up my 3G and tried to restore from back up with the 4S, but the pics did not load. Can someone please help?

Apps and music are not part of the backup that itunes performs.
Everything should always be on your computer. You can transfer itunes purchases to your comptuer: File>Transfer Purchases.
Backing up your iphone does nothing with your itunes content and pics that were synced from your comptuer.

I have Photoshop Album Starter Ed 3 downloaded in Jan 2007 which currently has all my pix (only about 50). Last Aug, a tech downloaded PhotoDeluxe 2 while doing some work on my computer. I have been unable to transfer the pix from the Starter Ed to the PhotoDeluxe. I just purchased Elements 7 and want to move the pix to that application and delete the 2 older Photoshops. No. You can delete it from their iTunes library and make a new one, but it'll remain tied to that iTunes Store account.

You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud. Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.

Problem getting scan of pix from printer/scanner/fax machine

Long used P E to get pix scanned by printer/scanner/fax. Then I bought a slide scanner and installed, and PE brought in slides scanned by separate machine. Disconnected slide scanner. Now whenI try to get pix scanned by printer/scanner/fax, it says it "Can't find the slide scanner" and SHUTS DOWN. How can I reset PE to get the scanned pix from the printer/scanner/fax again. It has no trouble going to the printer/scanner/fax to print pix.

I tried the website and help searching for scan, I have had every PE since
2 and have 48,000 pix in my catalogue, so I'm pretty knowledgeable about
the program. I also searched under file. I usually go to Get photos and
thought it should give a choice under scanner there. Never thought to go to
Edit and Preferences.

Unable to share pix from iPhoto via Gmail

Perhaps my understanding is incorrect. In iPhoto preferences, I set up a Gmail account. In Preferences I also specified that photos be shared via iPhoto. It is my understanding that, when a photo is selected, and Share is selected (arrow, lower right), a share via Gmail will be the result. This does not happen. Instead, I receive a pop-up in which the top six items (Messages, Mail, iCloud, Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter) are all grey-shaded and unavailable for selection. Is there some other step I must take?
N.b., the alternate path, i.e., using the Gmail website to create an email, and using the attach transaction to select a photo from the library–works fine. But this is not as convenient as immediately highlighting a photo at hand and sharing it.

iPhoto has no direct link to Gmail. Mail.app is the path. Gmail may perform the “courtesy” of selecting pix from the iPhoto library. This is done manually. The "Share" interface is not involved. The "Share" interface may go to the mail.app if anything.

Once you have created the project on the laptop, you can use "Firewire target disk mode" to transfer the project from one computer to the other:

Download pix from my camera to my iPod

I just bought my iPod 5G 60GB and the camera connector, but I can't download my pix from neither of my cameras (Canon EOS 350 D/Digital Rebel XT and Canon PowerShot G5).
When I plug in the connector, the iPod gets ready to get the pix, but when I plug in the USB cable to the camera and switch it on, the iPod doesn't recognize it and won't fetch the pix.
What can I do?

I found a tip to that issue.
One must find a CF/SD/MMC reader or whatever kind of memory card one has.
Switch on the iPod, set it on "import photos"
plug the CF/SD... reader in the iPod camera connector,
plug the memory card in the reader
click on "import Photos" and wait until the iPod tells you "ready to connect"
and now one can plug the iPodcameraconnector into the dock connector of the iPod.
Do follow the process without bypassing anything: one might freeze the iPod and have to reset it (happend to me, God knows why)
Normally it should be able to download the pix.

Manage iPhoto pix from iPad?

Hi all. We just got an iPad 64GB. We have about 30GB of photos on our Mac with iPhoto '08.
Our goal is to be able to download/sync the photos from iPhoto onto the iPad and manage them on the iPad so we don't have to sit in front of the Mac...we can just sit on the couch. When I say "manage", I mean very simple things like delete a photo or rename an Event or copy/move pix from 1 Event to another. No editing. It would be cool if we could upload the Events to Shutterfly from the iPad instead of the Mac after we manage it. So if I delete a few pix off the iPad, they will get deleted on on iPhoto later when I connect/sync with my Mac. We will never hook up a camera to the iPad so we don't have to worry about iPhoto stuff vs. iPad native.
Ideas? I've looked around the Apple website and there is no mention of this kind of feature. I also do not believe there is an iLife for iPad yet...

The Mac is running OS X 10.7.5, and the iPhone is running iOS 6.1.3. iPhoto on the Mac is 9.4.3.

Iphoto opens pix from 1 camera, not the other

We had never had a problem using iPhoto with my daughter's camera. But now that I use a new camera, newly loaded pix from HER camera won't open in the edit window; we just see a spinning logo. Her thumbnails are there, and I can find an open her fullsize pix by double-clicking on them in Finder.

Figured out the problem, and it seems like a bug in iPhoto. I shared the entire library from the iMac G3 to the PowerBook G4; however, I only shared select albums from the PowerBook G4 to the iMac G3.
Once I shared the entire library from the PowerBook G4 to the iMac G3, it worked like a charm. Slow...but, it works well nonetheless.

About a month ago I couldn't access 100s of pix from my iPhoto library. I then went through the process of "re-finding" all missing pix. I 2x checked that they opened. Now, I'm having the same original problem! What's iPhoto doin with my pix?

Try rebuilding the library.
Hold down the Option and Command keys then launch iPhoto.
Select: Repar the iPhoto Library Database
Click Rebuild.

How to upload pix from iPhoto back to camera?

I am running iPhoto 6.0.5 and have a Canon Powershot S500. I have occasionally transfered pix from the iPhoto library back onto a Compact Flash card that I then take out of the camera and slip it into a digital picture frame to run a slideshow on the frame. I have before me a long set of instructions that I obviously wrote the last time I did this about a year ago involving setting up a window in Canon's ImageBrowser. I then transferred the pix from Iphoto to ImageBrowser and I was able to upload them from there to the camera. Since that time, my G5 crashed and I lost some programs including ImageBrowser. Since I don't seem to have the original Canon CD and their website does not seem to have the program available, I was trying to get the pix directly from Iphoto to the CF, but I can't seem to get the Export to work. Any ideas??

If the icon mounts on the desktop then it should work.
However, there can be complications. So
1. Try export to the desktop, the drag from there to the icon.
2. If you cannot export at all try Download BatchMod from
http://macchampion.com/arbysoft/
And apply it to the iPhoto Library Folder using the settings found here:

3. If you can export, but the card won't accept it, it is likely that the card is formatted as Fat 12 or 16, which are Windows formats that don't like Long Filenames, non-ascii characters (essentially the 26 letters and 9 digits and nothing else).

How can get 40,000 pix from old computer restored by Carbonite to new computer into PE 11 or 12?

I bought a new, faster, more storage Windows 8 computer.
I had 40,000 pix on old computer tagged with names, event, location, date with PE 11. Also several projects involving hundreds of pix.
Carbonite restored all files (250 gig) from old computer to new, and their tech support says they all are on the new computer.
I bought the new PE 12 and installed it on new computer. It has only found 4,000 pix. I don't at all like PE 12 after enjoying PE2-11 and managing all my pix with it. PE11 was clearer in the pix presentation.
Apparently when imported to the new computer, I lost the tags that went to events, location, and the person tags did not separate family from friends etc. I can't even find my projects.
I was so frustrated with PE12, that I installed PE11, but everytime I try to open the Organizer, it doesn't open.
Help. I am so frustrated. I am pretty sure before I made the transition that I had written all tags to files. When I put PE11 on the new computer, why won't it give me what I had on the old.
This is probably my 10th generation computer change, and I never had such problems before with PE.

Export pix from iPhoto 4.0.3 to a digital picture frame (Tiger OS)

Can't succeed in downloading pix using a card reader. Desired pix moved to an album, then export selected. In dialog box, file export and album name are selected, jpg extension selected, pixel size changed and use extension is selected. The jpg file type and pixel size items conform to frame mfgr specs. The system proceeds to do something as the 100+ photos are supposedly transferred. After proper disconnection from the Mac, the Xd card is placed in the frame but no pix show up. In trying different sizes and extensions, the system prompts that these pictures already exist, as if the pictures are loaded into the card. I have tried creating a desktop file and dragging the album from iPhoto to the desktop with no success ( a subsequent move from the desktop to the card reader icon was planned). How can I be sure that the pix are on the card? How does the system know I want the pix to go on the card since it was never selected? Vince V

Any time you export files from iPhoto (or save files in a Save or Save As dialog box in another application) you have to designate a location for the exported (or saved) files. If you did not designate the Xd card as your location, then the system does not know you want the exports saved there. Where did your exports go? Can you do a Finder Search for them?

Did you remember to select all of the pix in the album before selecting export? It has been a very long time since I've used version 4, but in iPhoto 6 when you click the Export button in the dialog box you described it opens to a standard Mac Save As dialog box. That second box is where you specify the location for the exported files. Are you getting that dialog?

I would recommend a 2-part move, just as you describe here. What did happen when you tried to drag the photos to the desktop folder?
