Pixel counts for specific RGB values

Can Photoshop CS4 find pixel counts in an
image for specific RGB values?  Where would
you input these RGB values and would you see the pixels highlighted and totaled?

Hi Zeno:
Thank you very much for your response!
Your directions work very well for a single image.  I have an entire series of images and was wondering if I could just enter a specific set RGB values some where and see a total pixel count for each one of them.
When I go to foreground color and enter the RGB values there and then set the color range to zero and press OK, I get a Warning: No pixels were selected message.
Any additional advice that you have would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Bretzfrog

  • Total pixel count for specific shades

I am photographing fixed points along an artificial stream bed and want to document algae growth in it over time.  There may be up to 7 different shades of green (types of algae) in a given photograph.
Can Photoshop CS4 separate these shades and give you a total pixel count of each shade?
I was told by techical support that if you select an area with a tool that the histogram can give you a pixel count (along with the RBG values) for that given area.  Is there a way to click on a particular shade point and have PS computate the total pixel count of that shade in the entire photograph.
The magic wand tool does not appear to be a reliable tool for this purpose.

    Hi Paulo:
Thanks for your response!  When I go to Select/Color Range and set the bar to low fuzziness, I get an eye dropper.  When I click the eye dropper on the photograph, nothing happens in the histogram to indicate a pixel count.  I am missing a step?

  • Quality Operation confirmation only for specific grid Values

    Hello,
When I am doing in process inspection for a specific routing for say the 0040th operation, upon confirmation I would like to confirm only part quatities for a specific grid value alone. But there are certain issues as follows:
    1. When I am specifying the grid values, the same is not automatically copied to the yield quantitites field for confirmation. Moreover the system does not even propose what is the quantity to be confirmed. so the user has to remember and feed in the quantities.
    2. When I am trying to save the partial quantites as per the grid system is automatically raising a partial lot. Why is system doing so? I am not able to figure out why?
Any suggestions on this is greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Aji Kurian Mani

    Hi Aji Kurian Mani,
I am not so sure which transaction code you are using for confirmation. If at all you are willing to perform this through QA32 its feasible.
    1.     All you need to do is maintain inspection point at header level in routing
    2.     At operation level double click on control key. Scroll down up to quality management view.
    3.     There in confirmation menu choose valuation and confirmation.
    4.     You may try using different combinations there as a result of which when you valuate the results for inspection point, system throws a window to input yield and scrap.

  • Photo scanning -- cropping using pixel count for dimensions?

Hello,  I have both an older Photosmart 3310 and a new Officejet Pro 8610.  When scanning using the 3310, I can control cropping of the previewed scan using pixel count (width and height).  I can't seem to do that when scanning using the 8610.  Dimensions are in inches and only.  In fact, my editing options on the previewed scan on the 8610 seem quite limited relative to what I can do using the much older 3310.  Am I missing something?  I want to scan on my new 8610, but I also want some control over the scanned image like I had with the 3310.
    Thanks.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @JGH28 ,
Yes, you are in fact correct. The software definitely has changed over time and is much more limited with the software for your scanning options for the Officejet 8610 compared to your Photosmart 3310. Unfortunately there is not a way to change the options you have to broaden them again.
I would only suggest to ensure you have installed the Full Feature software for your Officejet 8610 to ensure you are seeing the full options available for your printer: HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers

  • SQL Report - Software count for specific hostnames

    Hi all,
I'm currently using the below query to get the count of all software in Add/Remove Programs for a specific collection:
    Declare @CollID char(8)
    Set @CollID = 'XXX00001'
SELECT DisplayName0, Count(*) AS 'Count', Publisher0, Version0, @CollID as CollectionID
    FROM v_Add_Remove_Programs arp
    JOIN v_FullCollectionMembership fcm on arp.ResourceID=fcm.ResourceID
    WHERE fcm.CollectionID = @CollID and
    GROUP BY DisplayName0, Publisher0, Version0
    ORDER BY Publisher0, Version0
Now, what I would like to do is to specify the All Systems collection ID (not a problem) but add a couple of extra condition:
I want to run the query only WHERE the hostnames start with SITE1 or SITE2.
How can I modify the above to achieve the results I'm expecting? I'm getting stuck here and there :(
    Thanks a lot

Thanks Torsten, you put me on the right direction.
If somebody's interested, this is the query I'm running now:
    Declare @CollID char(8)
    Set @CollID = 'XXX00001'
SELECT DisplayName0, Count(*) AS 'Count', Publisher0, Version0, @CollID as CollectionID
    FROM v_Add_Remove_Programs arp
    JOIN v_FullCollectionMembership fcm on arp.ResourceID=fcm.ResourceID
    JOIN v_R_System_Valid rsv on arp.ResourceID=rsv.ResourceID
    WHERE fcm.CollectionID = @CollID and rsv.Netbios_Name0 LIKE '%SITECODE1%' GROUP BY DisplayName0, Publisher0, Version0

  • Cluster trees: suppressing counts for docs without value for metadata attr?

    Hi,
Using metadata cluster trees on 11g in the SES standard UI, has anyone tried to either not show rows without the metadata value or to change the standard value "Miscellaneous" to something else? If so, could you provide some details on how you did this?
An quick example of what I would like to accomplish. Let us say I have 100 documents in my result set, and 30 of them are without a value for "Author". If I create a cluster tree on metadata attribute Author, I would like to configure whether or not the 30 documents without author shown in the Author cluster tree. Secondly, I don't like the term "Miscellaneous", so I would like to change the value to "Missing value" or something like that if I decide to show the docs without value in the cluster tree.

  • How do you set RGB values for colors in Numbers?

We are trying to set a specific RGB value for the background cell shading in Numbers.   Please help me on how to accomplish this?

And another way is with short scripts.
This one gets the RGB values of the background color of a selected cell:
--get background color of cell -- like a "dropper"
--if none set, returns 'missing value'
tell application "Numbers" to tell front document to tell active sheet to tell (first table whose class of selection range is range)
tell the first cell of the selection range
set bkgrRGB to its background color
              end tell
    end tell
And this one sets the background color of selected cells to the RGB values defined in myBackGroundColor:
--sets background color of a cell
    property myBackgroundColor : {8607, 65513, 1548}
tell application "Numbers" to tell the front document to tell active sheet to tell (first table whose class of selection range is range)
repeat with aCell in the selection range
                        tell aCell
set its background color to myBackgroundColor

  • How to find RGB values of an image in MIDP 2.0?

I am builiding a midlet in which i m supposed to take an image and than i want to find RGB values of all pixels
.After Finding the RGB values i want to store them in an array, and sort that array to find 5 Most repeated element of that array. Also i wanna construct color from those 5 Values and Display Those Colors. Can Anyone
    Guide me Through This?

I have not used Vision much but I would be very surprised if you would be able to do this directly.  It should be straight forward to get an average intensity with or without Vision (convert image to 2D matrix and average the values, for instance) -- the difficulty will be correlating the calculated values back to Lumens, etc. This could likely be done but it would probably require you to come up with the calibration curve and would be sensitive to setup changes, dust on the lens, equipment aging, etc. and these things should not be discounted.  This is why, particularly if  you're in a production environment, you'd probably better off buying a commercial meter and talking to it via a driver than to try to do it yourself -- they've already taken these things into account.
One more thing, in the picture you attached, any luminosity calculations you made would probably be skewed low as the white is saturated (railed) in spots and those under-reported values would affect your average.  If you did try to come up with a Lumen calculation, you would probably want to turn your aperature and/or exposure down before creating the calibration curve.

  • NEF to DNG 6.5 results in different number of unique colors, pixels and RGB values

I took pictures from my old Nikon D40. I converted them with the standard settings from NEF to DNG.
I then used UFRAW under Linux and saw that the pixel size increased from 3039x2040 in NEF to 3040x2040 in the DNG - and that the live view RGB values were about 5% higher for NEF that for DNG.
"FastStone Image Viewer" shows the same increase in pixel size. Additionally, it shows that the DNG has roughly 93,000 unique colors compare to 90,000 for the NEF file.
More pixel, different RGB values, different counted unique colors - what's going on here? This doesn't look like a 1:1 conversion?

Not exactly sure what you're comparing.  For raw data you need to be comparing the original mosaic data values (not some converted result, or even partially converted result like demosaiced result).   Are you sure that's what you're doing?

  • How do I input a specific color value for a shape?

I've been trying to figure out why I cannot input a specific color that I want for a shape. I'm not just choosing a color that looks nice, I'm trying to match it to a solid color in the next clip. Ive tried to use the eye dropper to get the color from the next clip but I cannot copy anything outside of the color pallete provided. I know the value of the color (from 0-255 it's R:191, G:211, B:217) but all FCPX has is 0 - 1, which is some other kind of color value system I've never seen before. Does anyone know how I can put that specific color value into the shape generator?

  • Counting pixels of a specific colour

    Hello.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to load an image into
flash and count the pixels of a specific colour in that image?
I'm trying to develop an application that loads images with a
white background, then counts all the white pixels and returns the
    number of non-white pixels.
I don't need a step-by-step explanation of how to achieve
this (although I'd be immensely grateful if anyone would go to that
trouble), for a now a simple yes or no, and perhaps a few clues
    would be plenty of help.
    Thanks in advance.

Extract the bitmapData from the image you load in - this will
be in Bitmap(loader.content).bitmapData. Then you can loop through
the bitmapData pixels with BitmapData.getPixel() and keep a tally
    of white/non-white pixels.

  • How to get the RGB value of each pixel of a hole image?

    Hi,
I'm trying the get the RGB(between 0 and 255) value of each pixel of a hole image. I writte this code:
    public void convertImage()
         int w = bufferedImage.getWidth();
         int h = bufferedImage.getHeight();
int[] rgbs = new int[w*h];/* create a new array */
         bufferedImage.getRGB(0,0,w,h,rgbs,0,w);
         for(int i=0; i<10; i++)
             System.out.println(rgbs);
But the value rgbs[] contain an 8 bits integer, it's possible to have the RGB of this.
In other case, do you have another sample of code to help me to get the RGB value of each pixel of a hole image?
    thanks.

Hi, I am currently working on an application which requires the generation of color histograms that are a representation of a given image ie; myImage.jpg. I have made use of the JAI API and used it's Histogram class to generate a histogram vector for the image that I provide.
However, upon closer inpsection, I have realised the following:-
    (1) The image, as it contains multiple colours is a multi-banded image ie; this means that each individual pixel in the image contains multiple colour samples (I assume) ie; Red, Blue Green. Due to this, a "separate list of bins represents each individual band". This means that for myImage.jpg, there is not ONE individual vector that contains data such as "400 pixels purple" "5000 pixels yellow" etc but there are indeed 3 vectors that represent the image.
I have found this to be true using the getBinSize(int band, int bin) method call - the first parameter being 0,1,2 for Red Blue or Green.
My basic (or complex) problem is that I basically want to generate 2 color histogram vectors that represent 2 separate images and then compare these vectors "side-by-side" using the vector comparison algorithms that I have already developed.
Is there a way of using Java's Histogram class and it's associated methods to be able to store all colour information for an image in only ONE vector?? I am pretty certain that this is not possible, so my dilemma is now: - If I have an image and it is represented by three separate vectors/histograms, then how can I possibly compare these to say whether an image matches or not.
When a pixel is analysed by a program, what seems to be the result returned is how that pixel is made up in terms of Red, Green or blue ie; a purple pixel is X blue, X red and X green and hence 3 vectos existing.
Can anybody offer advice on how to achieve this task of looking at a pixel and simply determining it's actual color. I would preferably like to keep my code that I have already developed ie; the use of the Java Histoogram class but any other offerings are appreciated.

  • How to get RGB value from pixel of an image.

hi, i need a little help... Is there any EASY way to get RGB value from point of an image? I searched javadoc but i only found very complex getRGB method working only with regions, and saving data into arrays.
Is there any other way that can use for example image.getGraphics() (so, i mean to get RGB from point of Graphics object) ?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Here adding to the words of “Tim”, a forwarder is a DNS server on a network used to forward DNS queries for external DNS names to DNS servers outside of that network. You can also forward queries according to specific domain names using conditional forwarders.
A DNS server on a network is designated as a forwarder by having the other DNS servers in the network forward the queries they cannot resolve locally to that DNS server. You can refer information regarding forwarders and how to configure from beneath link.
