Pixel size representation standard in ADF

This post is related to
Choice list resizeing
What is the standard way for representing pixel values in inlineStyle property for the components? is it to use 20px or 20.0px.
Jdeveloper internally changes to 20.0px if yoy type 20px for the property.
Expecting a reply from Product managers especially Frank or Chris or Shay.

But why Jdev not converts ContentStyle to 20.0px while writing 20px?
Also notice that when u set any style property for InlineStyle & converts to 20.0px, u can
again directly edit 20px in InlineStyle. This change reflects in code editor also. After running page
u can check your html page source to see applied style property as 20px & not 20.0px.
At the end, following the standards is good for proper result but standards are resting inside your result always.

  • Optimum Pixel size for Video????

I used to make my video files 720x486 (0.9px) D1 and they would come out nice... now with iDVD 6 It seems to be scrunching my video (adding small black bars on top and bottom) and causing distortion. What is the optimum video pixel size for the standard and widescreen settings of iDVD??
    cheers@!

    Quoting F Shippey:
If you live in 'NTSC land', Apple suggests that you use 720x540 pixel images for standard video and 854x480 pixel images for widescreen.

  • Any workarounds for the 2880 pixel size limit?

    I have a client that would like a Flash animation that's 5440
pixels wide, to span 3 widescreen monitors for a tradeshow
presentation. Flash won't let me make the stage any bigger than
2880 - does anyone know any ways around that limit?
I Googled it and found out that you used to be able to scale
the SWF beyond 2880 in an HTML file, and it would show well using
Flash Player 7, but apparently that trick no longer works in
    Players 8+.
Any other ways to make a single SWF that can span 3 large
    monitors?
    Thanks in advance,
    - Frank

The problem here is the legacy flash document size constraint of 2880 x 2880 pixels. Why is this limitation still in place? Most screen have landscape orientation and we have this square constraint that turns out to be a waste if you are developing for larger screen displays and anything that is 4:3 or 16:9. Something does not add up here. What if someone needs to make a dual wide screen HD show that measured 3840 x 1080 pixels? We can do setup documents at 3840 x 1080 pixels in PowerPoint, PDF, Silverlight (at least this is what I have read regarding Silverlight), but not in Flash. Why not?
If Flash is a platform… then it needs to spread its wings a bit and embrace all the potential uses that are non-web. Flash represents multimedia delivery to millions, but shackling it to the 2880 x 2880 pixel limitation for a document size is problem for many people now and looming for those working toward have the flash engine as a core component in media delivery. At least give us a dual Wide screen monitor resolution of 3840 x 1080 pixels instead of a square of 2880 x 2880 pixels – which no one really uses (at least I have not seen any sqaure screens lately). Hey, if Adobe decided to shave off on the unused pixels from the 2880 height (2880 – 1080 = 1800) of the format you get an additional 1800 pixels that could applied where it is needed – to the width of the document size… giving us a 4680 x 1080 pixel document. This could then be used for immersive simulation, game situations, and real-world wide-screen experiences.
Sorry I don't have an answer, just the same question. "Any workarounds for the 2880 pixel size limit?"

  • How do I find the pixel size of a photo?

I have taken a photo or found one online.
    It's now on my ipad.
How do I tell the pixel resoution of the photo via the ipad?
I have two of the same photos on my device at the moment and want to delete one.  They may both be 2048/2048, but without emailing them or putting them in Dropbox, and viewing on my laptop, I don't see how to tell.

Get the Actual Pixels App from the App Store. It's free and will tell you the pixel size of any photo you open.

  • How do I get the pixel size at 100% on Photoshop CS6 to match the pixel size that will appear on web

I have a 500px x 500px document open but the size that it looks on Photoshop at 100% does not match the size that is 500px on the web. How do I change it on Photoshop CS6 so that it will give me an accurate display of the pixel size?
(I don't know if this needs to be mentioned but I am working on the new macbook pro and just downloaded the new photoshop update for retina displays).
    Thank you in advance!!!

Ask in teh PS forum. Generally, though, pixels are pixels. Perhaps you simply have things backwards - as far as I know by default Safari doubles image sizes on Retina devices, which can lead to such discrepancies. There's an option for that in the prefs.

  • How do I change the pixel size of my photos?

    Hello,
Please give me step by step instructions on how to change the pixel size of my photos from the time I log in.
    Thank you.

    There are basically two ways.
Image>Image Size... This will adjust the quality of the image, allowing you to adjust the pixel dimensions and keep the full image.
In the tool bar on left side of screen 5th icon down looks like a sliding picture frame. That is the crop tool, that will adjust the pixel size of a document by removing a portion of the image, allowing you to get rid of portions of the image you do not want.
There are some other ways to accomplish the above, but these are the basics that everyone needs to know. I recommend playing with these tools on a copy of an image, that way you won't be afraid of destroying an image.

  • HT3805 How can I adjust the pixel size of a photo

I wish to upload pictures to a site and they have requested min size 40 x 40 max size 200 x 200  I assume this is pixel size but can find no way of doing this in Aperture.
Surely this is a common enough request?

Use the file export command (Shift-Command-E), adjust the size to whatever you want.
You can make your own preset by pressing the + sign on the lower left corner.
If you forget any of this, just use Apertures Help screen:

  • Is there a way to determine pixel size of type displayed in browser?

I'm still wrestling with getting type to line-break as I see it in Dreamweaver.
At 'Actual Size' in Safari, the type is bigger than I see it in Dreamweaver. I have determined that 12px is the appropriate size while working in Dreamweaver but when I view the text online it is much bigger and the line-breaks do not fall where the writer wants them to.
Here is the page in question:
    http://www.kgngroup.net/logos_and_packaging.html
I guess I was wondering first, if there is a 'sizeometer' that can identify the actual pixels size of type as it is displayed, so I can tell how much bigger it actually is than what I am trying to build.
    TIA,
    Ken

    Hi
The size of your text is set to 100% in your body elements css, this means that for Safari you will get a default font size of 16px, (providing you have not changed the browsers default settings).
Change the body element font-size to 12px in the css and see what happens.

I've run out of helpful stars to hand out to all of you nice people. Thank you so much, and as the post quoted here also demonstrates, there are 'overrides' in CSS. It struck me this morning as I have been thinking about this, the very first thing to introduction to CSS is that the meaning of Cascading Style Sheets is that there is an order of priority in command, and the troops closest to the front lines get the final say. I would think that the statement in the document would be the final word, but apparently it's the CSS sheet that takes priority in this case.
I think my thinking has been in reverse on this rule, not unusual for me, but now I need to re-educate myself thanks to this problem.

  • Exporting Versions to a specific pixel size

I want to export files for a slideshow that requires a pixel size of 1900 x 1200 , can it be done in Aperture ? , I have tried modifying the export preset , it does not work with (Fit Within ) is there another way ?
    Thanks
    Ray

    Trythis,
    What exactly is failing?
Your 1900x1200 size is a very strange size. That's not the 3:2 aspect ratio of an SLR or the 4:3 aspect ratio of point-and-shoot cameras. Also, Aperture will not enlarge pictures by choosing "fit within", since a smaller picture already "fits within". I.e., if you have a 640x480 picture, that already "fits within" 1900 pixels so Aperture will not make it bigger.
Also, Aperture will not crop your pictures on export. You may have to crop each picture first so that it has a 19:12 aspect ratio, and then "fit within" 1900 pixels. If the aspect ratio of a picture is 19:12 and the picture is larger than 1900 pixels, Aperture should properly reduce the size to 1900x1200, based on the aspect ratio.

  • Is there a way to reduce the pixel size of multiple photos in a slideshow?

I have a Windows 7 computer and use Photoshop Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9.  I recently completed a slideshow that contains about 360 photos, many or all of which exceed the maximum size of 1000 x 750 pixels.  Is there any way that I can easily reduce the pixel size of each of the photos?  If upgrading to the most recent versions of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements would help me accomplish this I would be willing to do this.  Thanks very much in advance for any advice or suggestions.

You can batch process your images to re-size them in the editor using the menu:
    File >> Process Multiple Files
Place your chosen photos in a separate folder and then choose a separate destination folder; so as not to overwrite the originals.

This may be a basic question... but in InDesign, how does one determine the pixel size of a text box? Specifically, we need to write text to specifications of 600 pixel width, and have no idea a) how to scale a text box to specific pixel width, b) how to determine what word count we can fit in, and c) how to do it in a table? Thanks!

Set your ruler increments to pixels Preferences>Units & Increments. You can fill the text box with placeholder text Type>Fill with Placeholder text and get a word count from the Info panel with Show Options turned on from the flyout.
From the Transform panel you can set a text box's width and height

  • How do I change the pixel size when converting Word doc to .pdf?

When converting a Word Document to .pdf the file size is too large. How do I reduce the pixel size?

Typically a Word file's content is text which has not image association.
For whatever images might be in the Word file you'd want to adjust image resolution in an image editor prior to bringing the image into the Word file from which the PDF is made.
