Pixel size/s of movie in iba?

hi, What are the pixel size/sfor a movie in ibooks author? I have a choice in Fotomagico, it can also export to mpeg4, which i suppose is good for iba? Thanks in advance
Andrew

2880 px is the longest dimension that can be loaded using fp 9 and earlier.
using fp 10 that limit was increased:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/496/cpsid_49662.html

• Changing stage size midway through movie

Hi
I have downloaded a Flash movie from a library which I want
to use as part of a larger movie. The downloaded Flash movie is 300
pixels square, while the movie I want to use it in will be 765 x
100 pixels. The downloaded movie has a number of layers and is
around 100 frames in length.
Is there a way of selecting all the elements on the stage and
then a) reducing them all in size, which would be 33 percent of
original size and b) moving them so they are centered on the stage?
Or am I better working on a larger stage (would have to be
2295 x 300 pixels) and then publishing at 33 per cent of actual
size? Does one way have a benefit over the other in terms of
finished file size? If I do it this way, I'm still going to have to
move all the elements across the stage as a group (if this is
possible).
Many thanks for any help.

Found the solution that worked (used ._xscale and ._yscale
instead of ._width and ._height
function resize_movie_clip(clip_loader_name:MovieClip,
max_width:Number, max_height:Number, center_offset:Number )
if( (clip_loader_name._width > max_width) || (
clip_loader_name._height > max_height ) ) // If either dimension
is too big...
if( clip_loader_name._width > max_width )
_root.picsPage_mc.txt_test = "func if 1";
clip_loader_name._width = max_width;
clip_loader_name._yscale = clip_loader_name._xscale;
if( clip_loader_name._height > max_height )
_root.picsPage_mc.txt_test = "func if 2";
clip_loader_name._height = max_height;
clip_loader_name._xscale = clip_loader_name._yscale;
else { new_width = orig_width; new_height = orig_height; }
• Pixel size for web

So i downloaded a flash temp for my bands website. It is my first attempt at flash. The background pixel size is 766x750. I worked off this and am finished the site. Now however when i upload my site it doesn't fill the screen.It's more of a square! I have tried putting 100% in the html publish settings and that works but now everything is stretched and looks awful. Please tell me there is a way around this that doesn't involve re sizing every image in photoshop and re importing it!!!
thanks in advance
DR

A stage of that size is going to be roughly square in shape. If you want your movie to stretch or shrink to fit/fill the user's screen, then you need to use artwork that will look good in enlargement or reduction. There's nothing wrong with using a static size for your movie.

• When I open icloud, desktop is opened with a pixel size of 640 x 480

When I open icloud, desktop is opened with a pixel size of 640 x 480
The normal pixel size is 1680 x 1050 on my desk.
This means that I can not turn the button so all the settings are installed.
How to solve this problem?
I use Internet Explore as your browser.
Operating system is windoes 7 ultimate.

Move the cursor to the very top of the screen, maybe push up a bit. The main menubar should then appear. All the way to the right should be a bright blue icon - click it, and the Safari window should revert to 'normal' size.
Pressing Command-Control-F should accomplish the same thing.
Once it is back to normal size, click and hold on the top portion of the Safari window and drag to left or right to place it where you want it to be. Once you leave it there, the next time you open Safari it should open its window in normal size at that place.
If you need to re-size the window a bit, you can click-and-hold on the bottom-right corner of the window and drag to resize it.

• What pixel size should film clips be?

I'm requesting to have some film clips sent to me, that I will be importing to a film of mine. The person I'm requesting the clips from is asking what pixel size should he send the clip to me in?
He is converting the clips from PAL into NTSC and is asking any format information he need to know before doing so.
Should I just tell him:
Frame rate:24
Dimensions:640x480
Encoding mode: Multi-pass.
These are the setting I took from quick time movies.
Does anyone know?

You probably meant to say video not film.
If the material is DV PAL and he is converting it to DV NTSC, he should give you 720x480 29.97fps 48khz/16 bit clips.

• How do I find the pixel size of a photo?

I have taken a photo or found one online.
It's now on my ipad.
How do I tell the pixel resoution of the photo via the ipad?
I have two of the same photos on my device at the moment and want to delete one.  They may both be 2048/2048, but without emailing them or putting them in Dropbox, and viewing on my laptop, I don't see how to tell.

Get the Actual Pixels App from the App Store. It's free and will tell you the pixel size of any photo you open.

• How do I get the pixel size at 100% on Photoshop CS6 to match the pixel size that will appear on web

I have a 500px x 500px document open but the size that it looks on Photoshop at 100% does not match the size that is 500px on the web. How do I change it on Photoshop CS6 so that it will give me an accurate display of the pixel size?
(I don't know if this needs to be mentioned but I am working on the new macbook pro and just downloaded the new photoshop update for retina displays).
Thank you in advance!!!

Ask in teh PS forum. Generally, though, pixels are pixels. Perhaps you simply have things backwards - as far as I know by default Safari doubles image sizes on Retina devices, which can lead to such discrepancies. There's an option for that in the prefs.

• How do I change the pixel size of my photos?

Hello,
Please give me step by step instructions on how to change the pixel size of my photos from the time I log in.
Thank you.

There are basically two ways.
Image>Image Size... This will adjust the quality of the image, allowing you to adjust the pixel dimensions and keep the full image.
In the tool bar on left side of screen 5th icon down looks like a sliding picture frame. That is the crop tool, that will adjust the pixel size of a document by removing a portion of the image, allowing you to get rid of portions of the image you do not want.
There are some other ways to accomplish the above, but these are the basics that everyone needs to know. I recommend playing with these tools on a copy of an image, that way you won't be afraid of destroying an image.

• HT3805 How can I adjust the pixel size of a photo

I wish to upload pictures to a site and they have requested min size 40 x 40 max size 200 x 200  I assume this is pixel size but can find no way of doing this in Aperture.
Surely this is a common enough request?

Use the file export command (Shift-Command-E), adjust the size to whatever you want.
You can make your own preset by pressing the + sign on the lower left corner.
If you forget any of this, just use Apertures Help screen:

• Is there a way to determine pixel size of type displayed in browser?

I'm still wrestling with getting type to line-break as I see it in Dreamweaver.
At 'Actual Size' in Safari, the type is bigger than I see it in Dreamweaver. I have determined that 12px is the appropriate size while working in Dreamweaver but when I view the text online it is much bigger and the line-breaks do not fall where the writer wants them to.
Here is the page in question:
http://www.kgngroup.net/logos_and_packaging.html
I guess I was wondering first, if there is a 'sizeometer' that can identify the actual pixels size of type as it is displayed, so I can tell how much bigger it actually is than what I am trying to build.
TIA,
Ken

Hi
The size of your text is set to 100% in your body elements css, this means that for Safari you will get a default font size of 16px, (providing you have not changed the browsers default settings).
Change the body element font-size to 12px in the css and see what happens.

I've run out of helpful stars to hand out to all of you nice people. Thank you so much, and as the post quoted here also demonstrates, there are 'overrides' in CSS. It struck me this morning as I have been thinking about this, the very first thing to introduction to CSS is that the meaning of Cascading Style Sheets is that there is an order of priority in command, and the troops closest to the front lines get the final say. I would think that the statement in the document would be the final word, but apparently it's the CSS sheet that takes priority in this case.
I think my thinking has been in reverse on this rule, not unusual for me, but now I need to re-educate myself thanks to this problem.

• Illustrator and Photoshop's stroke appearing larger then the pixel size I put.

My strokes in Illustrator and Photoshop CS6 are showing up larger then the pixel size that I put in.  I checked my settings and nothing looks out of the norm.  What could be causing this problem?

• Creating fonts based on pixels size

Hi i'am still a java beginner and i am switching from .NET so anyone can help on how can I create a font based on Pixels size rather than Point Size

You can translate between points size and pixels size using the DPI:

• Exporting Versions to a specific pixel size

I want to export files for a slideshow that requires a pixel size of 1900 x 1200 , can it be done in Aperture ? , I have tried modifying the export preset , it does not work with (Fit Within ) is there another way ?
Thanks
Ray

Trythis,
What exactly is failing?
Your 1900x1200 size is a very strange size. That's not the 3:2 aspect ratio of an SLR or the 4:3 aspect ratio of point-and-shoot cameras. Also, Aperture will not enlarge pictures by choosing "fit within", since a smaller picture already "fits within". I.e., if you have a 640x480 picture, that already "fits within" 1900 pixels so Aperture will not make it bigger.
Also, Aperture will not crop your pictures on export. You may have to crop each picture first so that it has a 19:12 aspect ratio, and then "fit within" 1900 pixels. If the aspect ratio of a picture is 19:12 and the picture is larger than 1900 pixels, Aperture should properly reduce the size to 1900x1200, based on the aspect ratio.

• Is there a way to reduce the pixel size of multiple photos in a slideshow?

I have a Windows 7 computer and use Photoshop Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9.  I recently completed a slideshow that contains about 360 photos, many or all of which exceed the maximum size of 1000 x 750 pixels.  Is there any way that I can easily reduce the pixel size of each of the photos?  If upgrading to the most recent versions of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements would help me accomplish this I would be willing to do this.  Thanks very much in advance for any advice or suggestions.

You can batch process your images to re-size them in the editor using the menu:
File >> Process Multiple Files
Place your chosen photos in a separate folder and then choose a separate destination folder; so as not to overwrite the originals.

• In InDesign, how does one determine the pixel size of a text box? Specifically, we need to write text to specifications of 600 pixel width, and have no idea a) how to scale a text box to specific pixel width, b) how to

This may be a basic question... but in InDesign, how does one determine the pixel size of a text box? Specifically, we need to write text to specifications of 600 pixel width, and have no idea a) how to scale a text box to specific pixel width, b) how to determine what word count we can fit in, and c) how to do it in a table? Thanks!

Set your ruler increments to pixels Preferences>Units & Increments. You can fill the text box with placeholder text Type>Fill with Placeholder text and get a word count from the Info panel with Show Options turned on from the flyout.
From the Transform panel you can set a text box's width and height
