Pixelated Images after exporting

I  have recently switched from a Mac Laptop to a PC desktop. After I export my images they are really pixelated. I am not sure if lightroom is different for a PC. Can someone please help me.
I have the same settings picked too.

>switched from a Mac Laptop to a PC desktop
That should teach you not to do that ;-)
Sorry bad joke. The PC version behaves exactly like the Mac version so the same settings should give you identical files. Your screenshot doesn't show the crucial setting -> quality. It should be 80 or higher in general. Around 60 or so you'll start seeing blocky jpeg artefacts that might look like pixelation.

  • PIXELATED IMAGES AFTER EXPORT TO IDVD

Help! I'm confused and frustrated. I have imported 65 images from iPhoto to iMovie and added titles, music and a few transitions. The movie plays fine in iMovie full screen on my 20 inch iMac. After exporting to Idvd project a number of the images (most) are pixelated and even more confusing (at least to me), when I return to the original iMovie (which was great before the export) now those images are pixelated also. WHAT IS GOING ON? , how can I avoid this? Hope I am in the right forum.

Bengt: Right now I'm jubilant. Tried your methodology, and results were beautiful. Good burn and no JAGGIES. Then made a disc image and tried a burn from that. Great. If this continues I owe you a "GREAT BIG THANK YOU!!" I have been struggling with this problem far to long. Next I want to try adding some more complex transitions and perhaps some Ken Burns and hoping to see the same SMOOTHE lines. Too bad more people don't know about this for I see others posting about pixelation.
    For now, I remain grateful.

  • AIR - no images after export release built

    Hi,
when I am running my AIR project in Flex Bulider I have images in my application. After export release built there is no images in my application. How can I fix this?

Yeah I had the same problem.  Here is a hack:
If not, then you can kind of cheat. When you publish your .air file, it
will offer you the choice of files to include in the archive.
If you click "back" at this point then you have the opportunity (outside
of flexbuilder) to copy any files you need to the "bin-release" folder
that gets temporarily created as part of the publishing operation. Back
in flexbuilder, click "next" again and you'll be back in the stage where
you can specify files to include, but now you'll have the opportunity to
select the files you just copied to bin-release.
This, however, gets old pretty quickly!

Although, I recommend to bundle all assets up with Apache Ant, but that requires some time to configure a file to do that if you are not familiar with Ant.

  • Problem with image after exporting from Lightroom 5

Good day. Please can someone help me? I have Lightroom 5, and I have a problem in exporting edited images. At issue, do all the necessary settings and retreat noise and sharpness adjustment by brush adjustment tool, however, to export the image, noise and some minor adjustments are lost. Because in Lightroom visualize the way you wish, but after export, is not it the same? How do I get a different result? Thank you all!

    I have the same problem!
Something got broken with my Lightroom 5.6 (Windows 7Pro)  two days ago and I don't see any adjustments made with brush after exporting photos!
It's not a problem of library or RAW files - the same, work fine on other computers (iMac).
I tried to clean the computer with CC Cleaner Tool, and install everything again, but it didn't help.
I already lost 2 days trying to fix it, and I don't want to format the drive and install Windows again
    Can anyone help?

  • Pixelated images when exporting from Lightroom

I recently switched from A Windows PC to the MBP Retina 15". I imported photos to lightroom from my external hard drive in RAW format to lightroom, edited then exported firstly as jpeg resized to 630 x 420 at 150 dpi. The images came out pixelated so I tried exporting at 300dpi even though the images are for web use. They still came out pixelated. So I tried exporting as .tif files at 300 dpi and still they are coming out pixelated... does anyone know why this would be? The raw files don't look pixelated at all.

    PART I
Viewed at 100%, I see no "pixelation" or any other distortion of any kind whatsoever.
Only a 100% view (1:1) shows you your true image.  At smaller percentage views, pixels have to be discarded; at greater percentages pixels have to be made up (invented) by the software.
With the Retina screen you're bound to see very strange things, unless you're using the latest and greatest versions of Photoshop and of your video card, and utilizing the Retina features of the software.
    PART II
JPEG is a lousy, lossy format for maintaining image quality.  Every single time you open or create and save a JPEG, the image quality deteriorates, no exceptions.  Even at the highest quality of compression.
To take a very low resolution JPEG, like you did, and subject it to such a massive enlargement is to ask for demand trouble.  Not only are you also magnifying all the JPEG compression artifacts, but you are "inventing" an inordinate amount of pixels.
If you have to enlarge your images often, start with an image file that has NEVER been a JPEG.
    PART III
Photoshop performed superbly in your case.  That is a remarkably fine enlargement, especially considering the miserly JPEG you started from.  Rejoice!

  • Pixelated images after burning

A friend of mine is using iDVD to create a slideshow of some photos. The photos look great, and after burning, when playing on either tv's or even other computers, no matter the screen size, all the images, as well as the text that pops up, is all pixelated. But on her computer, they look fine.
She is using RAW images, could this be the problem? She has tried burning for both Widescreen and Standard, with no fix.
I told her to use jpegs, haven't heard back if that worked or not, but thought I'd ask.
    Thanks!
    Jordan

You gave your friend excellent advice. Most Jpegs will work fine. If you wish to add RAW image files as well then I'd suggest doing so to the dvd-rom section of the dvd (and there is a preference you can select within iDvd that will automatically do this for you).

We're going to need a lot more details aobut exactly (EXACTLY) the steps you follow after you do the export, because normally I would say this is one of the easiest things possible in Lightroom. Are any files moved or renamed or disks unplugged in between the time of export and the time when you try to edit again?

  • Muse, pixelated image after trying to fill a box

Ok so I am trying to fill a box of 1003 px x 577 px with an jpg of 1100px by 4000px. I am trying to make a scroll image in a box with motion. I am having the problem that for it to show the image in good quality it has to be in "original" or "tile". In both cases it's not filling the box that I created with the same width of the jpg. I am having always the same problem. The only way I always fix this is making the image tremendously small in height. This should not be happening. The only way I can get it to be the width that I am creating the box and jpg image is to Fill-"scale to fit"... and it's pixelated.
Could someone help me with this unbearable problem please. I will really appreciate the gesture.
    Thank you.

THANK YOU SO MUCH BARBARA! I really appreciate you taking  the time to reply to my simple problem(eventhough at the time it was so frustrating). Thanks again. Leanne

  • Pixelated images when exporting to a PDF

I am having difficulty every time I export to a PDF. Many of the pictures in side the .indd file are extremely pixelated. They have all been linked properly and are high resolution to begin with. Not sure what is going on. Any suggestions and/or help is greatly appreciated!

    What is your output resolution?
Are you using transparency, drop shadows, or other special effects?

  • Jagged images after export to .mov format

    Hi everyone reading,

When the encoding to the .mov format is finished and I play
my new created movie in QuickTime

How can I get a real clean and proper encoding from a .fla to

    Welcome to the discussions, evorot69.
If your original file is an MPEG file, you'll need to use MPEG Streamclip in order to convert it to an iPhone format WITH the audio.

  • Pixelated Text after export FCP5

My problem is that whenever i export from final cut pro 5 to a quicktime movie the text that i have created in LiveType always turns out very pixelated as you can see here: http://homepage.mac.com/jrthib1/distortedtext.png
The text looks fine when working in the canvas even at full screen.

    thanks in advance!

Couple of possiblilites, though I don't use LiveType enough to really qualify this answer, but you might try...
changing your Field Dominance to 'Lower (Even)' in both FCP and LiveType...could try 'Upper (Odd) if that didn't work.
You may be ok with Field Dominance set for 'None', but you should make sure that...
In the 'Attributes' tab of the LiveType inspector, make sure that the 'Offset/Y' (vertical axis) is on an even numbered integer. Much like basic FCP 'text', if the vertical axis (in the Viewer window/Motion Tab) is not on an even numbered integer, the nature of interlacing can create problems.
I'd also try using 'sans-serif' fonts like Arial, Helvitica, Verdana...
'Serif' type fonts with 'tips' or very skinny lines/portions of the text, like Times New Roman or Big Caslon cause the problems associated with interlacing as discussed in paragraph above.
Hope that helps. Post back if you've not resolved the issue.

We see similar posts weekly and daily. You can search the FCP and LiveType forums for your terms.
The most likely explanation is that you are trying to evaluate your interlaced text objects on a reduced scale and progressive display device. If you watch them on a tv set, for example, I'm betting they look just fine.

  • HELP!!??? Trouble with PS CS-6 displaying/ producing grainy and pixelated images after being imported using PS Bridge and Camera-Raw 8.5

Help!??? I am having trouble with PS CS-6 displaying/ producing/ saving grainy pictures when import NEF files!!!
    Hi all,
When I import all NEF or RAW files into CS6 from Bridge and Camera Raw from the Nikon D200 and D5000, they become grainy/ pixelated.  However, RAW files from the D800 did not have problem. I set the Color Space in my Nikons to AdobeRGB, in PS Camera Raw 8.5 to AdobeRGB, in PS CS-6 ColorSpace to AdobeRGB, and Save As Jpeg with Max quality (12). When comparing between CS-6 produced file and the original, I can see a big drop in quality and the picture become grainy and pixelated. What can I do to make this right? Any help/ suggestion is appreciated.
    Thank you!
    HN

Can you show us a screen-shot of the raw in Camera Raw that shows this noise, or if you only see it in the saved JPG, then show us a side-by-side of the raw in Camera Raw and the JPG?  Show the same area of the photo and zoom to 100%.
It is normal for raw photos to have grain but you can mostly remove it with the Luminance Noise-Reduction sliders in the Detail tab of Camera Raw.
The amount of grain depends on the ISO sensitivity setting on the camera.

  • Update image after export and overwrite

I am on XP64, but I expect this may apply to vista too. LR 2.3
    1) I save my adjusted raw file as a dng to the same folder as the original raw using the export function under the file menu.
    2) I decide to do some more adjustment and export again using the same file name. I select overwright to update the existing dng with my new adjustments (I only want one dng file).
    3) On inspection I find that the dng file is not updated. I have to sync the folder to get the new settings applied to the dng. Would be nice to have this done automatically.

    Patric,
Thank you for the advice. I did a sample on a separate sequence: same settings but field dominance none. I exported into 3 formats: appleprores 422, H.264, and MPEG-4. The quality is not much different. It still appears interlaced on the output.
I ended up applying the "de-interlace" filter on a few clips inside my first sequence with Upper (odd) field dom., and exported it and it looks good, except it does not play smoothly but that might the issue with my hard drive or fire wire connection as I have the export on ext. disc.
I must learn more about field dominance and why my camera records in Upper odd. I thought that there should be an output codec that would accommodate that field so I would not have to convert to progressive at all. Do you agree?
    Thank you for any suggestions,
    Izabela

  • Image pixelation artifacts on export in lightroom (bug?)

    Hi!
I've just noticed that while exporting a picture from Lightroom that the output quality was quite pixelated. I had added a few filters etc so I figured it was because of this. So I loaded (imported) the image as the original and compared it to an external viewer both at 1:3 (300% zoom).
    This was the result:
    http://adiza.nexticom.net/lightroom.png
Most visible artifact on this picture is if you look at the guy's back where the red and black colors cross. You can se major border pixelation in Lightroom where as the original image displayed to the right does not. These artifacts are actually exported when I save the image from Lightroom.
As you can see I am running the software in QEMU/KVM kernel virtualization. Though I have verified the results in a pure win32 environment aswell. And besides, the image rendering is a software based process as QEMU/KVM will only display the actual pixels rendered by the OS/program (everything else looks quite ok, right? :-))
Got any workarounds? Similarities? :-) The picture looks really bad after exporting. :/
    Mikael

Hi again, Tony and Lee. Thankyou for your input. Phyllis: Interesting!
I've conducted an experiment with a few softwares on converting/exporting images and compared the results with LightRoom.
    1. To make sure that the image program I was using actually converted the image (applying full export) rather than just copying the file I converted it to a .png lossless file first and verified that it looked OK.
Unfortunatly LR and LightZone could not read .png, but I verified rewritten .JPG file by md5 checksum.
    2. The softwares used to load the PNG and then export (resave) it to 100% quality JPEG used was:
LightRoom, F-Photo, LightZone, GIMP, Google Picasa
To address the "interpolated by nearest neighbor" theory while displaying > 1:1 I've taken screenshots of the pictures displayed at 1:1 aswell as 1:3.
    3. The viewers used to view the files were (sorry for lack of choices, but should prove the point):
Opera (web browser, but it can show images! ;)), Gnome Eye, GIMP
    4. Results! :-)
    1:1
    http://adiza.nexticom.net/lr_experiment/geye_1_1.png (LR bottom right)
    http://adiza.nexticom.net/lr_experiment/gimp_1_1.png (LR bottom left)
    http://adiza.nexticom.net/lr_experiment/opera_1_1.png (LR bottom left)
Atleast I see that it's a remarkable difference with the LR export. Looking close at the hat and the coat he is wearing in contrast to the black is far more jagged in the lightroom export.
1:3 (GIMP could just zoom 200 or 400%, so picked 400%):
    http://adiza.nexticom.net/lr_experiment/geye_1_3.png
    http://adiza.nexticom.net/lr_experiment/gimp_1_4.png
    http://adiza.nexticom.net/lr_experiment/opera_1_3.png
Zooming to 300 or 400% in the same viewing program makes the jaggedness show a lot.
Tony: hope this experiments shows what you were referring to.
Though if this is indeed a bug or quality issue of lightroom I would be quite dissapointed knowing that my photos processed through it would be degraded. Especially if I spend $299 on the program.
Thoughts about this test? Anything else I should conduct? Something I have missed?
Even though how it may sound, I would just like this resolved and over with so that I could use LR as it is a great tool :)
    Mikael
