Pixelated Images Printing

I am new to Pagemaker and Im trying to create a little flyer for my youth group. The images are all jpegs, and when I use the 'Place' option they were showing up fuzzy. So I changed the view to 'high resolution' and now they look great on screen. But, when I go to print them out they are still fuzzy. What am I doing wrong?

It's been so long since I've used PageMaker that I don't remember whether printing files with placed jpegs to a non-PostScript printer sends the jpeg data or the preview. Other image filetypes like eps would send the actual eps data to a PostScript printer, but only the preview (the portion of the image that displays in PM) to a non-PostScript printer like most inkjets. The solution is to print the PM file to a virtual printer to create a PostScript file, and use Distiller to change the PostScript into a PDF, which if done correctly, will produce a PDF with all of the image data that can be printed to a non-PostScript printer.
Whether your (presumably) newer computer with a newer operating system can print to a PostScript file or not I couldn't say. I've always used Macs, so I don't know how to do it in Windows (any flavor). Since you are new to PageMaker, may I suggest you check out InDesign. It is the successor to PageMaker, and works very similarly, only better. You can download a trial version to see if you like it. I think the trial version works for 30 days, then stops working until you enter a serial number (that you would get if you bought it).

Pixelated image printing

I'm hoping you can help with a Freehand printing problem I'm
having. I have several hi-resolution images that print beautifully
from Photoshop but when I import them into Freehand they print very
pixelated. I have tried importing the image at the same exact size
without modifying them and they still print pixelated.
Ideally, I would like to take the Photoshop images and import
into Freehand and scale them down to a smaller image and print
them.
I'm using an Epson Photo R2400 printer with enhanced matte
paper. The printer is set to the correct paper. I'm using Freehand
MX11.0.2 and Photoshop CS 8.0. My images are tiff, RGB, about 61
MB, 300 resolution.
I have a Mac 1.6 GHz PowerPC G5 running OS X 10.4.8.

To add to Judy's list... Make sure that you have your Screen
Redraw
(under Preferences) set to maximum when printing. This will
effect your
print out on non-PostScript printers.

Images printing too small using Lightroom

I have an image that is 316x x 2317 pixels that I am printing using Lightroom 2.3 on Windows XP SP2. I use the Picture Package and add one 4x6 image to the sheet. I am using the Maximize template from the browser. The photo borders are minimum. The image nearly fills the page in the Lightroom viewer just as I expect. The image appears the same in Print Preview. However on my Epson 3800 the image prints about 30% smaller and offset to one corner of the 4x6 sheet.
The problem also occurs when printing from Photoshop CS4.
I am not scaling or resizing in the print driver. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer using the latest driver.

It seems that, embarrasingly I was tripple checking everything for 4x6 prints but actually had 5x7 loaded in the printer!

Images print URL instead of image

I have developed crystal report which shows multiple images(stored as URL pointing to Unix box location where images are placed). Same is publised to Infoview where i can see the images properly.When i am printing the images,its not printing the image instead just showing the URL.
Please help how to resolve this.

--Which viewer you are using to Print ? ( DHTML, ActiveX, Java ?? )
--Whatever viewer you were using, can you change it in 'preferences' and see if you get same error in toher viewers?
--Are you flexible in using Printing the report after it get exported to PDF ? If yes, you can use this setting from CMC ?
--If you export the report to PDF and print from Infoview, does the images print fine?

Graphics2D.scale() producing pixelated images from vectors

I have a set of JPanels that I am using in my game to display the interface. Each one overrides paintComponent() and draws itself using Java2D. That all works great -- you can zoom in, move around, etc. and it all looks very nice and uses affine transformations.
I'm trying to produce very high resolution images from this interface (for use on a poster) and using scale() is creating pixelated images rather than nice, high res images of the vector data.
My code works as follows:
1.) Create an instance of the interface using some saved game state data.
2.) Create a Graphics2D object from a BufferedImage object.
3.) Scale the Graphics2D object so that the interface will fill the entire image (in my test cases, the interface is running at 800x600 normally, and the resulting image is going to be 3200x1600, so a 4x scale).
4.) Call the interface's paint method on the Graphics2D object. Note that all of the paint methods are using calls to fill... and draw...; nothing is getting rasterized in my code.
5.) Write out the image object to a file (PNG).

The white circle in the upper left hand corner is drawn in between steps 4 and 5. It actually looks correct.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is it a deficiency in Java itself? Is there some way to fix it?

Try setting a few hints on your Graphics2D:
g.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_INTERPOLATION, RenderingHints.VALUE_INTERPOLATION_BICUBIC);

Hi!!! I have an iPhone 6, 64GB capacity. All the iOS updates are the latest ones. I'm getting pixelated images on instagram, pinterest and even the icons on the app store, I have tried to turn it of and off but it doesn't seems to work... any idea??.

What do you mean by reboot? Do you mean restore? Because if you haven't restored, then that's the next step. You'll need a computer with the latest version of iTunes and a USB connector.

Pixelated images while playing back a video shot on my iPhone4s

Shot a video of my kid playing soccer and when watching on playback mode on either iphoto or imovie it comes out all pixelated images...

The size of the hard drive that the OS resides upon is not of concern as long as it has enough space for you operating system, the applications and a swap file.
The reason you NEED to keep you media files on a second drive is that it is TOO MUCH to ask of one drive to deal with all the system level read/writes AND to also seek, find and play all your audio AND video AND renders AND graphics and who knows what else you've got going.
to get the best possible playback.
1. Run Diskwarrior and Disk Utilities to make sure the files/directories are clean.
2 Disconect the system from any network.
3. Turn off any screen, power, disk power savers
4.Make the file self-contained
5. Have ONLY the external drive that the media resides upon connected through the firewire bus.
6.Shut down and reboot the machine before you start.
7. Pray.

Pixelated images in safari, please help.

Hi everyone,
Hoping someone can help me with a issue i have with my new macbook pro.
When browsing the net, safari and firefox show really pixelated images. I thought it might be my internet connection compressing data or something, but i have tried other computers on the same internet connection and the images show perfect...
So this makes me think its the macbook. I have upgraded snow leopard from 10.6 to 10.6.2 and updated safari, but unfortunately this didnt help my problem. So now i have ended up here, asking you people, coz im out of ideas.
I will include some screen shots so you can see exactly what i mean.
Notice the bad quality images and even on google's banner it is pixelated heaps...
Please help if you can. Its very annoying. Cheers.

Yes, I see the big ugly squares. They are what appears whenever extremely heavy JPEG compression is applied to a low-resolution image tht has relatively large areas of similar colors. Something somewhere is applying such compression to the pages, or portions of them, that you are viewing in your browser(s). Your MBP is not doing that: it can't. Either the page images (or parts of them) are being compressed by the website owners or, if every web page is affected, they are being compressed by your ISP in the process of being transmitted to you, as Gordito suggests. That would greatly increase the speed of page loading, but at the expense of image quality. You wouldn't see the image degradation on an iPhone or cell phone — the screen is too small — but on the MBP's high-resolution display it would be much more apparent, IF the MBP were receiving the signal in the same highly compressed form as the phone. If the MBP receives the same web pages through an ISP that doesn't over-compress them, they'll look the way they ought to look. So if you are receiving these web pages through a cellular ISP rather than through a broadband connection, take the MBP to a wifi hotspot and connect through wifi instead. I bet things will look different then.
Compressing images is something a web browser can't do: a browser just displays the signal that comes to it.

Up graded to CS and images print out are green.

I am using 10.4.11 operating system. I upgraded from Photo shop 7.0 to CS and all my images print out green. The printer is a Epson Stylus C88+. The images on my monitor look the same as 7.0. I do a nozzle check every day.
Does any body know why this happened?

I have an image printing question for an HP 8600 Office. I am trying to get a decent quality image to print
on regular paper. I gather that I will not get the quality of a photo printer. I gather I'm supposed to use

Images come out grainy (rastery) when embedded from an MSPaint project, and if I use Word. However when I printed just an image from image viewer it came like a photo ... but I can't remember what I did. It definitely is capable of printing better. My cartridges all check out, etc. I did the Print Quality Report ... I sure wish I could get that quality when I print other things.
I tried messing with different settings from the Print - Preference. The Quality (Best, Normal, Draft) doesn't effect the outcome. I tried going into Print - Preference - Media and it makes a difference. I can't figure out which is the best setting for plain paper ... but it's not plain paper. The image rendering algorithm appears to be different for different Media settings. I also tried setting the Advanced Resolution to Maximum DPI. I haven't been totally methodical about this as I was in a rush.
I see that the printer is being "smart", perhaps a little too smart.
So my question is multipart:
- Is there documenation on the what the Print - Preference - Media settings do?
- How do I get it to not use grainy/rastery image method, but use the nicer photo method?
- Should I print Maximum DPI?

First I'd recommend this document on Changing Print Settings in Windows 7. This document should show all the settings you're looking into.
Also, another thing to keep in mind, when you select 'best print quality' and 'photo paper'. It will only be as good as the source image.

Mirror image printing not desired

I have been an HP printer user for many years but this stumps me. Recently my printer will give me a mirror image of what I am trying to print. It usually does this with PDF's and Internet documents. I have gone into the Advanced tab to check to see that mirror printing is off but I still get it. I am currently using Vista and have tried to check for any updates.
I want to clear up this problem before I upgrade to Window's 7. Any help is appreciated!!!!!

Here is a link to a post that has some good information on mirror image printing and what has worked for some other people. You should be able to go to Control Panel>Printers>right click on printer>Properties>under General tab click Printing Preferences>under Advanced Tab click Mirror Image ON. However, like i said others have had some issues with this. Hopefully you will find the link below helpful.

Okay - So, I teach photography and have my students print contact sheets from iPhoto version 08. I have one student (out of forty) having the following problem (I have removed preferences, reinstalled iPhoto, used the iPhoto updater for 7.1.5, reloading the printer driver and upgrading the system software to 10.6.8 {I teach in a high school, so no funds for newer software})
The problem is isolated to one student - the others on the same machine do NOT have the same problem. When this student selects more than 5 images, the resulting output looks as if he has taken a screen shot - the palettes on the left of the frame show and the titles he has inserted (using Batch Change) are moved on to the pictures.
At this point, I am going to let him screenshot his submissions, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Image Printing Problem

I make use of Crystal 10. I have a report that print 1 page per record. This page include data and 3 images. Recently, this report started to print some pages correctly while other pages images printed black. Would appreciate if someone can highlight what happen because after rebooting the crystal report server, the problem goes away. Need to find the root clause and not reboot server all the time.

Need a lot more info.
Are you using CR Enterprise?
Are you using a custom application you or someone else wrote?
You'll have to monitor the WEB servers resources or local browser cache etc.
What have you done so far to debug the issue?
