Pixma 640 wireless woes

Almost everytime I attempt to use the Pixma 640 it does not respond to the commands from the pc at all.  I am connected wirelessly and the router is about 1 foot from the printer but in a different wood cabinet in my desk.  I have to unplug the printer, count to 10, and then plug it in again.  It now works fine for an hour or so before it goes on another "walkabout".
Has anyone seen & solved this irritating issue?

  • Trying to print e-mails from my ipad to a canon wireless pixma 640

I have been trying to print an e-mail to my canon wireless pixma 640 and it tells me there is no connection.  What can I do.

"Airprint" is only supported by Airprint compatible printers.   You can't print to other wireless printers nor through a printer attached to an Airport.  It's unfortunate as I wanted to do the same thing with a printer attached to my airport.

  • My new Canon Pixma 7250 wireless printer can no longer find my wireless network. My MAC is, Yosemite 10.10.2. I've run diagnostics and Canon LAN printer setup routine many time. Is there a solution? Can anyone help?

My new Canon Pixma 7250 wireless printercan no longer find my wireless network. (It worked fine until recently) I have a Yosemite 10.10.2. I've run diagnostics and the Canon LAN printer setup routine many times. Is there a solution? Can anyone help?

Turn of the MG and unplug the power cord. Leave it off for about a minute and then reconnect the power cord and turn the power back on. Wait while the device attempts to reconnect to your wireless network - the blue wifi symbol on the MG will flash and then stay on once it has connected. If it keeps flashing then you will have to reconnect the MG to your wireless access point via the control panel on the MG.

  • Canon Pixma MG6120 Wireless printer - can't get to work with AirportExtreme

Canon Pixma MG6120 Wireless printer - can't install mg6100swin104ejs.exe 64 bit wirelss driver on Windows 7 64bit when printer is registered to 10.0.1.X Airport Extreme. Even if I enable Advanced Port Mapping, Printer Sharing the Canon software doesn't recognize the printer if it is registered wirelessly to the Airport Extreme. Canon senior tech support and Apple senior tech support don't know how to help. Any advice for someone who was able to get a Canon Pixma Printer to work with their Airport Extreme from a Windows 7 64bit PC also connected to 10.0.1.X subnet? Your advice is greatly appreciated. The printer once online is pingable at 10.0.1.9 and I can see SD cards and browse photo's just can't get the Canon software to wirelessly activate/install.

To print from an iPAD using the Lexmark S300 series, you need to download the LexPrint app from this link: LexPrint
    Hope this helps.

  • I need to connect my Chromebook to my Canon PIXMA MG3520 wireless printer

I'm having problems connecting my Chromebook to my Canon PIXMA MG3520 wireless printer. Because of the Chrome OS, it will not connect like Windows or Mac. I need help before retire, please.

    Hello Bama-85,
You are correct, printers do not install the same way on Chrome OS. I looked on the Google Cloud Print site and your Canon printer is indeed supported. Follow this link to setup your cloud ready printer.
I haven't setup a Canon printer via Google Cloud Print, but I assume it's as easy as setting up HP's printers on the print service.

  • I have an ipad 2, verizon jet Pak router, canon pixma mg3220 wireless printer. All were working until yesterday. Now I get  no air printer found message. Have shut down everything and restarted. No change

I have an ipad 2, verizon jet Pak router ang canon pixma mg3220 wireless printer. All were working until yesterday. Now, I am getting no air printer message. Have shut everything down and restarted. It did not work.

    See requirements for AirPrint (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356):
If your printer supports AirPrint but does not work then:
Your printer might need a firmware update
Your printer must be on the same WiFi network
Your router must support Bonjour (Zero-configuration networking).
    For troubleshooting:
Turn Off iPad, WiFi router (remove from power), and Printer (remove from power).
    Turn on WiFi router
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on printer
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on iPad
    Try to print.

  • Pixma MX432 wireless scanning function doesn't work

I just purchased a Pixma MX432 multifunction printer. I set it up for wireless connection. The printer portion works fine. When I run the MP Navigator 5.1 to run the scanner, I get an error message: Canon MP Navigator EX has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I have used a Pixma MX 410 since July 2011, and it worked fine wirelessly for both the printer and scanner until about two weeks ago, when the wireless scanner quit working and I got the same message as above. I tried reinstalling the software with no success.
When the Pixma MX 410 ADF feeder quit working on a manual scanning function, I used my replacement guaranty and bought the Pixma MX 432. I still have the same problem.
    My software is Windows 7.

Assistance needed, we purchased an PIXMA MX432 today, initially printing via LAN through an AT&T modem from two windows 7 64 bit OS laptops and one Apple Lion OS laptop.  Went to dinner, came back can no longer print, message states that printer is not responding or is offline.  Printer status: ON icon: green light. WIFI icon: blue light, unplugged waited three minutes and plugged back in.  Same status, no print.

  • My Macbook Pro will not find or use the downloaded driver for my new Canon Pixma MX479 wireless printer

I have been fussing for hours with a Canon Pixma MX479 printer I received as a gift. The printer was obviously designed for PC control, and has terrible instructions for setting up the wireless capability, but I finally found a few hints online about how to add a WPS printer to my Airport Extreme, so I can finally detect the printer. However, when I try to add the printer, either under System Preferences or while just doing a print, my MacBook requires that I download a driver from Apple to use it. When I attempt to do that, I get a message the driver software is unavailable from Apple and that I should contact the manufacturer for the driver. I have already downloaded and installed the Mac OS driver from Canon twice, but my MacBook apparently can't find it. So I am forced to use Airprint in order to communicate with the printer. I would like to use the proper software to make sure I am accessing all of the features the printer offers. Can anyone tell me how to associate the downloaded driver with my printer when I am attempting to add it?

    Hi Dwntso!
Welcome to the Canon Forums and thanks for posting!
So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know any error messages you're seeing either on your computer or the printer, and the version of OS X you've got on your MacBook as well as the way you intend to connect to your printer (USB or networked via WiFi or Ethernet).

  • Pixma MX430 Wireless Connectivity Problems with Mac OSX 10.9.4

My Pixma MX430 suddenly refuses to connect wirelessly to my Mac running OSX v 10.9.4. I was able to fiddle with settings and nudge it to work but it now steadfastly refuses to play ball. I have no CD drive incidentally. I would be grateful for any suggestions as I need to print and scan documents urgently.
    Many thanks for your help.
    Jenny

USB 3.0 is an international standard. Yes, it's compatible with OS X 10.9.x
Reviews on Amazon from other iMac users have been positive.
Just like with USB 2 hubs, some devices aren't happy sharing.
I can't tell for sure it's the hub's fault. You need to try other combinations of connection.

  • Airport Express and Canon Pixma IP4500 wireless printing

    Hello,
I bought an Airport Express and set it up as an additional wireless network at an 5Ghz N mode. It's conneted to a Linksys Wireless router modem/router. Internet connectivity is fine from both iMac 24 and MacBook. Both use OSX 10.5.4.x
Airport is set up via USB with a Canon Pixma IP4500 inkjet. When connected directly to the iMac, it prints fine. When I connect the IP4500 to the Airport Express, I get an Error 300 - basically saying the printer is not responding.
The whole point of the Airport Express was a faster network for both wireless printing and playing iTunes wirelessly from the MacBook.
Any tips on what could be a common problem for this printer?
    Thanks

    I had a similar problem
I had to "add a new printer", so one printer refers to the directly connected printer and the other refers to the printer connected to the airport (bonjour).
    Greetings.

  • Problem connecting Canon Pixma IP5200R wirelessly

    Hello
My problem is this: I have successfully set up my IP5200R printer to print wirelessly in conjunction with my iMac and Airport Extreme. However, if I temporarily 'switch off' the network's WEP protection which I have to do from time to time to allow a pesky laptop PC to use the wireless network, when I later reactivate the WEP protection the printer is no longer detected and I get an error 306 when I try to print anything. I then have to reinstall the printer using the USB cable to get it back on the wireless network which is very annoying. Is it possible to toggle between WEP off and WEP on without having to reinstall the printer each time?
Many thanks, and apologies for any clumsy descriptive terms used to describe this problem. I hope you get the general idea!

    Modesto:
I have a Pixma 800 and I assume setting up yours is the same as mine. You have to connect the printer to the computer via USB cable directly and set it up wired with the setup disc that came with the printer. After you've done this disconnect the USB cable from the computer and connect it to the USB port of your router. In my case, it is the Airport Extreme station. I'm not sure after this but I would go to System Preferences under the Apple and then click on printer and Fax. If you do not find the printer there, click on the "+" and after a time, the printer should show up because the printer driver has been downloaded. I don't know if your printer driver has been downloaded with the Apple OS software. Then click on the Pixma 800 which should show up and then click add. I'm not sure about the rest but you must first make a direct USB connection between the printer and the computer. I hope this starts you on the way.

  • Print from my ipad to my CANON PIXMA MP620 wireless printer?

Is there any way to print from my ipad to my CANON PIXMA MP620 printer configured as a wireless printer?  I see several apps in the app store (e.g., "CANON Easy Photo Print"), but the MP620 doesn't show up on the list of printers supported by the app.

See if Canon has an app to print to you or use a 3rd party solution like Print Central or Printopia.

  • For all, (or at least some), with wireless woes, just check..........

Had a wireless drop today. For a good few minutes too. Very unusual for of late. Anyway, was using my browser and it took a while for the page to load, the wait lengthened an then; 'You are not connected to the internet'.
I clicked the Airport menu bar icon and it said my network was there. I opened Airport Utility and sure enough the AEBS was there. Every now and then I do a hard reset on my equipment any way so thought I'd try one then, just before I did though I noticed that my router, (DG834), had only two of its usual three lights up. The power light and the LAN port light. The internet light was flashing orange which according to the manual means 'ADSL Training'. Airport appeared normal.
My point is, all those times I assumed Airport was the problem. But maybe it is the router. I assume most people who run wireless networks have the router hidden away and so can't see what it's doing.
Before you flame me, there will be some people who do have genuine Airport problems and this post is not directed at them.
Just next time you have a signal drop check the router status too, and if by the time you get to it everything is normal, check the router logs to make sure it has always had a connection.

OK 6 weeks into this I now have a new tuner card and some updaters drivers. Computer stayed two weeks at the shop! It seemed to work when the techie booted it up in front of me.
Now the worst feeling of all. I get home, boot up  and the Raid controller on my MSI 655 board starting denying access to arrays! can't do anything!
I read the MSI 655 forum boards asking for solutions and ALL i read is about super dissatisfied customers having to deal with RMA issues because this is a junk mobo!
WOW! You need help. You turn to your manufacturer. You read boards hoping for solutions and  time after time people dish the 655 and I don't see techies admit or much less come to the rescue of owners.
I bought a mobo and two cards becAuse of these boards and now I can only regret that decison.
I guess the marketing department is doing a much better job than the problem solving department at MSI

  • Laserjet P1102w & Mac Wireless Woes (Have tried everything!)

Feels like I have tried everything, so I turn to here.
Installing (reinstalling, actually) a P1102w on a Macbook running Leopard. I had this printer working beautifully a year and a half ago, no problems whatever. Changed the network name, everything fell apart. I went away for a few months and have come back to a new ISP and router/modem and am now trying to set it up on the network.
Here is everything I have done so you have a sense of how this is failing me:
    Installed drivers from the cd
Plugged in the printer and configured the HTML Config and the Wireless settings in the HTML Config exactly as every thread and guide on this website tells me to do. It finds my network, it takes the WPA key and says that everything is fine.
Tried accessing it via "Bonjour" on Safari--it doesn't show up.
    Tried powercycling everything, doesn't work.
Tried resetting the HTML config settings to factory default on the printer numerous times, nothing happens.
Tried setting my own IP address for the printer within the IP Range of the router/modem and connecting to it that way--no luck. Whenever I add the printer connected that way it says the sheets have printed within the print queue but nothing happens to the printer.
Have managed to connect to the printer under the AirPort drop down, the ad-hoc, but that still doesn't do anything.
The printer when plugged in via USB works perfectly. When (as directed) I delete the USB printer from my Print/Fax list, unplug the USB Cable and attempt to re-add the wireless printer (As I did a year and a half ago) nothing shows up in that list.
It used to show up as the printer name + Bonjour under "Kind", it doesn't any longer. Bonjour is turned on in HTML Config.
I have looked at the youtube videos and searched these forums and others with zero luck.
I called Tech Support but unforunately they are now charing you to fix problems (I'll leave my complaints on that for another thread...ha). I am sure $25 is worth it, but when you're a student and $25 is about half of your weekly food budget, it's hard to justify tech support.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Also, this sounds totally stupid, but stay with me.
I just went into the Add Printer window with the USB unplugged and, as usual, there is nothing there.
I clicked to "FAX" and then back to "DEFAULT".
When I clicked back to "DEFAULT" for a milisecond the printer name and "BONJOUR" flickered and was gone. It happens each time that I switch back to "DEFAULT". I can see it for barely a moment and it is gone.
The wireless light on the printer is also flickering pretty constantly.
    Perhaps this information will help...
