Pixma MX410 wireless printing

I have three laptops, each one running Windows 8.1. Every couple of days or so, for the past year, I will lose connection with my Pixma MX410. Even though it's a hassle, on the laptops I can reinstall the drivers through Canon's website and be up and running again. However, when my Microsoft Surface RT loses connection, reinstalling the Canon App doesn't always help. It has now been unable to communicate with my MX410 for two weeks. It's easy to say it's Microsoft's problem, but if Canon can't step in and solve this, I am going to stop buying Canon printers. I just wish Canon could see the importance of this issue and solve it for us, whether it's Canon's or Microsoft's problem, step up and solve it before Canon loses a lot of business. I'm not going to stop using Windows, but I might stop buying Canon products and start buying HP or Epson printers.

  • Canon Pixma MG6120 Wireless printer - can't get to work with AirportExtreme

Canon Pixma MG6120 Wireless printer - can't install mg6100swin104ejs.exe 64 bit wirelss driver on Windows 7 64bit when printer is registered to 10.0.1.X Airport Extreme. Even if I enable Advanced Port Mapping, Printer Sharing the Canon software doesn't recognize the printer if it is registered wirelessly to the Airport Extreme. Canon senior tech support and Apple senior tech support don't know how to help. Any advice for someone who was able to get a Canon Pixma Printer to work with their Airport Extreme from a Windows 7 64bit PC also connected to 10.0.1.X subnet? Your advice is greatly appreciated. The printer once online is pingable at 10.0.1.9 and I can see SD cards and browse photo's just can't get the Canon software to wirelessly activate/install.

To print from an iPAD using the Lexmark S300 series, you need to download the LexPrint app from this link: LexPrint
    Hope this helps.

  • I need to connect my Chromebook to my Canon PIXMA MG3520 wireless printer

I'm having problems connecting my Chromebook to my Canon PIXMA MG3520 wireless printer. Because of the Chrome OS, it will not connect like Windows or Mac. I need help before retire, please.

    Hello Bama-85,
You are correct, printers do not install the same way on Chrome OS. I looked on the Google Cloud Print site and your Canon printer is indeed supported. Follow this link to setup your cloud ready printer.
I haven't setup a Canon printer via Google Cloud Print, but I assume it's as easy as setting up HP's printers on the print service.

  • I have an ipad 2, verizon jet Pak router, canon pixma mg3220 wireless printer. All were working until yesterday. Now I get  no air printer found message. Have shut down everything and restarted. No change

I have an ipad 2, verizon jet Pak router ang canon pixma mg3220 wireless printer. All were working until yesterday. Now, I am getting no air printer message. Have shut everything down and restarted. It did not work.

    See requirements for AirPrint (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356):
If your printer supports AirPrint but does not work then:
Your printer might need a firmware update
Your printer must be on the same WiFi network
Your router must support Bonjour (Zero-configuration networking).
    For troubleshooting:
Turn Off iPad, WiFi router (remove from power), and Printer (remove from power).
    Turn on WiFi router
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on printer
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on iPad
    Try to print.

  • My new Canon Pixma 7250 wireless printer can no longer find my wireless network. My MAC is, Yosemite 10.10.2. I've run diagnostics and Canon LAN printer setup routine many time. Is there a solution? Can anyone help?

My new Canon Pixma 7250 wireless printercan no longer find my wireless network. (It worked fine until recently) I have a Yosemite 10.10.2. I've run diagnostics and the Canon LAN printer setup routine many times. Is there a solution? Can anyone help?

Turn of the MG and unplug the power cord. Leave it off for about a minute and then reconnect the power cord and turn the power back on. Wait while the device attempts to reconnect to your wireless network - the blue wifi symbol on the MG will flash and then stay on once it has connected. If it keeps flashing then you will have to reconnect the MG to your wireless access point via the control panel on the MG.

  • Airport Express and Canon Pixma IP4500 wireless printing

    Hello,
I bought an Airport Express and set it up as an additional wireless network at an 5Ghz N mode. It's conneted to a Linksys Wireless router modem/router. Internet connectivity is fine from both iMac 24 and MacBook. Both use OSX 10.5.4.x
Airport is set up via USB with a Canon Pixma IP4500 inkjet. When connected directly to the iMac, it prints fine. When I connect the IP4500 to the Airport Express, I get an Error 300 - basically saying the printer is not responding.
The whole point of the Airport Express was a faster network for both wireless printing and playing iTunes wirelessly from the MacBook.
Any tips on what could be a common problem for this printer?
    Thanks

    I had a similar problem
I had to "add a new printer", so one printer refers to the directly connected printer and the other refers to the printer connected to the airport (bonjour).
    Greetings.

  • Print from my ipad to my CANON PIXMA MP620 wireless printer?

Is there any way to print from my ipad to my CANON PIXMA MP620 printer configured as a wireless printer?  I see several apps in the app store (e.g., "CANON Easy Photo Print"), but the MP620 doesn't show up on the list of printers supported by the app.

See if Canon has an app to print to you or use a 3rd party solution like Print Central or Printopia.

  • Canon Pixma MP500 wireless printing problem

I've got this USB printer connected to an Airport Extreme base station. Wireless printing used to work fine, but doesn't anymore. I ensured that printer sharing is set in the Airport admin utility. Yesterday I spent about 30 minutes with a guy from AppleCare trying to troubleshoot this issue to no avail. Printing works fine if I plug the USB cable into the Powerbook. I'm using Canon-supplied drivers. But that was also the case when wireless printing used to work. So this problem is a bit strange and frustrating.
My guess is that some security update or change in the OS is causing the problem. The Apple guy agreed, though he had no idea as to what the specific issue might be. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rich

    Hello Rich, Phil and Dave,
I'll see if I can offer some advice to you all...
    Rich,
Okay, first of all I want to check what you see in the Printer Browser > Default Browser. Under the heading Printer Name should be Canon MP500 and under the heading Connection should be Bonjour. If you select the printer, the Name, Location and Print Using should be automatically populated (Print Using should show Canon IJ Printer). Do you get this?
If you do and can add the printer, then what happens when you attempt to print something?
    Phil,
The -9672 is usually caused by the printer reporting it is a different model to the selected driver. Picking a different printer from the list of Canon's doesn't always work, as there is often control information in the driver comms that are specific for a model (otherwise you could have one driver for every printer). You should try running the Repair Permissions option in Disk Utility. Updates sometimes set some values back to system defaults, which can impact the ability of Mac to correctly identify a peripheral such as a printer.
    Dave the drummer,
Do you notice the Airport signal strength when the printing fails? I have seen some printing fail like you describe when the signal drops too low. Is your wife's iBook located closer to the Airport than your PBG4?
Also, I would try running the Repair Permissions option in Disk Utility.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • My Macbook Pro will not find or use the downloaded driver for my new Canon Pixma MX479 wireless printer

I have been fussing for hours with a Canon Pixma MX479 printer I received as a gift. The printer was obviously designed for PC control, and has terrible instructions for setting up the wireless capability, but I finally found a few hints online about how to add a WPS printer to my Airport Extreme, so I can finally detect the printer. However, when I try to add the printer, either under System Preferences or while just doing a print, my MacBook requires that I download a driver from Apple to use it. When I attempt to do that, I get a message the driver software is unavailable from Apple and that I should contact the manufacturer for the driver. I have already downloaded and installed the Mac OS driver from Canon twice, but my MacBook apparently can't find it. So I am forced to use Airprint in order to communicate with the printer. I would like to use the proper software to make sure I am accessing all of the features the printer offers. Can anyone tell me how to associate the downloaded driver with my printer when I am attempting to add it?

  • I have an airport extreme with a HP Folio laptop and cannon pixma MX882 printer. when i am VPN'd in thru Cisco vpn and try to print the wireless print connection stops. i Un-VPN and it prints. then i have to go back into VPN to continue?how do i configure

i have an Airport Extreme wireless router, HP Folio laptop (company supplied) and a Canon PIXMA MX882 wireless printer, copier, scanner and fax.
when i am VPN's in thru CISCO VPN to my company Intranet site I cannot print wirelessly. i have to turn off VPN, priint and log back into the company intranet site.  is there a way to configure the router so that it is not blocking the signal?
    Tx

The problem is not the router.. the issue is the vpn has put your computer in a different IP range with a different gateway. When you turn off the vpn the computer returns to local lan and can print.
Some vpn software allows you to set gateway to use local net instead of remote gateway or access to other webistes or local lan.
    Read up the issue.

    Cisco vpn client..
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/239113
I did not search much.. just grabbed the first article I could find that explains the issue.
The whole point of the vpn is whilst it is connected your computer is NOT part of the Local Lan .. it is part of the Remote LAN via the vpn tunnel.
It is also a security risk using split tunnelling so often it will not be allowed.
Plug the printer directly into the computer via usb or whatever.. Local connection will work.. not local lan.

  • Canon Pixma MX 450 printer showing offline with OS X 10.7.5

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I joke with Canon's IT department that I keep them employed! I was calling them at least twice a week for a few weeks to try to fix the problem, but was unable to find a resolution. I returned a less expensive Canon printer today, in a desperate attempt to get my wireless connection to work! I just installed a Canon Pixma MX450 wireless print, copy, scan, fax with my OS X 10.7.5. Everything seemed to be going great. The setup was fine when communicating between the router and printer; none of those connections failed. However, once I installed the software from Canon and tried to setup the wireless connection from the computer to the printer, the printer could not be detected wirelessly-I had to pull out the 'ol USB. With the USB, the printer was detected. The test print page printed, which game me a false hope! I tried a dummy page from Pages and Word both, but nothing prints. The printer error indicates the printer is offline and not connected. This is the same problem I had with the less expensive Canon. Help! I want to be able to use the wireless function that I paid for to print. Thanks

When you connected the MX450 to the Mac via USB cable, it would have created a printer in Print & Scan for this USB connected printer. If you then disconnect the MX450 USB cable from the Mac but then attempt to print to the MX450 using the printer that was created for the USB connection, this will result in the "Printer Offline" message.
So, are you trying to print with the MX450 printer that was created for the USB connection?
If you are not using the USB printer and definitely using the printer that you created when the MX450 was connected to your wireless access point (wireless router), then try removing this printer from Print & Scan and creating the printer again.
If you cannot find the printer when you try to add it again then check the wireless network settings via the control panel on the front of the printer. It will confirm what wireless network it is connected to and what IP address it has acquired.

  • Can't connect my Canon Wireless Printer to my iMac

I am new to imac and I am having trouble trying to setup my wireless Canon Pixma MG8150. Its not being recgonised by my imc even though I have the wifi connected to the printer. Can anyone help? Do I need the Airport Express Base Station for this?

I have Canon Pixma MP560 wireless printer and scanner. Have you installed the Canon software and drivers on your iMac? You can go to Canon website and find the software based on your printer model. Maybe this is what you need: http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/Products_OLD/MG8140MG8150.aspx? type=download&page=1
You can filter by software and by your operating system. I typically install all of them except the My Image Garden because as far as I know it's for organizing photos.
After installing, the Wireless Setup Assistant can be used to help you connect to your printer. Or you can also add/remove printers and scanners in your System Preferences.
The printer and your iMac need to be connected to the same router so they are on the same LAN.

  • Wireless Printer connection to Time Capsule

I have a Canon Pixma MP620 wireless printer that I'm trying to connect wirelessly to my Time Capsule. Is there a way to do this using the touch button method? Most access points have a button that can be pressed to receive a signal from another wireless device so they can sync but I haven't seen anything like that on my Time capsule

So you plugedd the printer into the time capsule usb right?
You need to re-add the printer in the system preferences one more time because the location has moved.

  • My MacBook Air will not print wirelessly to my Canon Pixma MX410

I recently got a MacBook Air computer from work.  I have not been able to set up the wireless printing at home via my Canon Pixma MX410 printer.  I can get it to print from my MacBook Air if i connect it via USB.  and I can get the Canon to print wirelessly from my personal Dell Laptop.
No matter what I have tried: Downloading the Printer Driver MX410 Series 106702.pkg
and still i get the same error.
The Printer is not Connected.  I don't understand how that is, when i can still print from my other computer.  There is some setting that i do not have correct on the MacBook.  What do i need to adjust?  I can't seem to find where it might be in the System Preferences.  When i look at Network  It show's i'm connected to my home Wireless Network.  but i still am unable to print.
    Please help.
