CLDC will support jdk1.2 that's Personal java. So if you develope program using jdk1.2 it will support pda computer. Before u run this program using Pjee(personal java emulatior enivronment).
u run this program using "pjava file name"

you've got fixed point libs available, but theyre not exactly fast.
It is possible to recompile the KVM and enable floating point support, but none of the embedded implementations have this support, so its a pointless excercise.

How to install cldc/midp to phone without them?

I'm a Java developer new to mobile java, working on a totally new project which is at the stage of deciding what phones to use and purchase for testing. I understand the concept of cldc/midp as a standard cross-phone platform but have the following very basic question: can you (or how do you) install these prereq's on a phone that doesn't have them initially when purchased? Is this a problem or a non-issue (perhaps you just load them as with Java jdk onto a desktop)?

If I understand you right, you want to know how to add API:s ie MMAPI to a phone?
Well thats impossible.. the only way you are going to get support for new api is if the manufacturar adds it in the next firmware (That never happends) . So if you buy a phone that is the tools you have.. Nothing els except the ones you write your self.

J2ME CLDC/MIDP emulator for Compaq iPAQ

I would like to run J2ME CLDC with MIDP on my Compaq iPAQ 3650. I am NOT interested in PersonalJava at this time. I have two questions:
1. Has anyone tried to put the J2ME Wireless Toolkit emulator on iPAQ, with or without Swing? J2ME WTK currently requires Swing, but it seems like that AWT may be used exclusively instead with some slight modifications.
2. Does anyone know if there is an applet/AWT version of a J2ME CLDC/MIDP emulator that I can use for demos?

I am performing some research on the compatibility of MIDP/CLDC and current devices. It is a well known fact that some applications (MIDlets) will operate fine on some devices, while other devices require 'tweaking'.
Mikko Konito (writting for IBM) says "manufacturers often deviate from the [MIDP] profile" (link: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/wireless/library/wi-design.html) which explains why these tweaks are necessary.
I would like to hear your views on what else could cause such "incopatibilities" with mobile devices and MIDP.

I worked about 5 years in J2ME development and porting. From the beginning of J2ME (MIDP-1.0 and beginning of MIDP-2.0) porting was a great business - every manufacturer and almost every handset type was different in many aspects.
Now the situation is a little bit better and also handset manufacturers are more responsible for their work.
But still - you must care:
- different display sizes
- different media capability (sound formats)
- diferent sets of API implementations
- ...and different BUGS in the MIDP implementation!
While the basic MIDP was implemented poorly at the beginning, now it seems that the MIDP itslef is implemented well on most of the new handsets, however the situation repeats with various new and non standard APIs (PIM, M3G...).
Simply - it's always good to test particular application on particular handset to be sure...

First thing to try is the latest version of Lightroom (currently 5.6). If it don't crash, then problem solved - upgrade.
If Lr5 won't run on your machine, then Lr4 instead.
If both Lr5 and Lr4 crash on your machine, then at least you know it's a not a Lightroom version problem but something wonked in your system.
If you can't figure out how to resolve the crash on the system you have, then it's time for a new system (or try another converter/editor app).
PS - A few things to try:
* After re-installing new version, if that doesn't fix it, then get rid of all Lightroom-related data files (rename them so they can be restored), in case problem is in Lr data file.
* Remove all non-essential hardware in case problem is hardware/driver.
* Startup up machine with minimal software services.
* If still no go, consider updating driver software, including mainboard drivers and/or bios firmware if need be.
* Of course run all the system hardware and software diagnostics you can - problem could be failing disk or ram..
* Check system event logs for any clues.
If you don't know how to do some of these things - ask.
Do not say "you've tried everything" unless you want a lecture - there is most definitely something you haven't tried. It's like when you can't find your car keys - you haven't looked everywhere - there is somewhere you haven't looked!
PS - Has Lightroom EVER worked on your machine? what's changed since then..

The converterbean provides the remote home interface and remote interface. At the same time I have developped the j2ee application client named convertappclient. When I access the conveter bean at host computer A through the script 'appclient.bat' as 'appclient -client convertappclient.jar', the client can access the bean sucessfully. Now I want to access the bean through the script 'appclient.bat' at host computer B,what files should I copy from host computer A to host computer B;and what the command line should be like? Thanks!
