PL/SQL code to capture email with an Attachment from the POP server

Hey guys,
With the help of this forum and Billy I am able to capture the email from POP3 server and display it to the user. But now my query is how can I get an Attachment from the email using PL/SQL's UTL-TCP method ? Right now the attachment is displayed as string of characters.

Seeing that none-one has bitten on this, I will have a very quick nibble.
Dealing with attachments can be complex - especially if binary. Attachment will be (should be) encoded using 7 bits. This requires you to un-encode it.
Attachments also require you to parse the mail body looking for the attachment boundary markers (as specified in the e-mail header).
The RFCs detailing the Internet Message Body and attachments will have the actual gory technical stuff.
It will make a lot more sense when looking at an existing MIME message ("raw" e-mail) when reading these RFCs - as you can fairly easily see how the MIME message was created with the attachment boundaries and headers.
Of course - also realise that as soon as you have decoded that attachment into a "proper" binary for your platform, you have a potentially malicious payload that could be "accidentally" executed. So safe guards are also needed.

Sending email with excel attachment from an ABAP report

Hello All,
I am using the function module SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send an e-mail with an excel attachment.
The code works fine for less than 255 characters in each row of excel file.But for more than 255 characters , the excel file received has data upto 255 characters only.
Can someone please suggest how to send excel file with more than 255 characters in each row ?

SOA Suite 11g - Email with attachments (Attachment from SOAP attachment)

Hello,
Can any one please help as to how I can do the following in Oracle SOA 11g:
Using a BPEL process how can I send an Email with attachments where the attachment itself is coming from a SOAP attachment.
The back ground is that we have portal sites from where the users can upload a document and then from their a SOA service is invoked and the attachment would be passed as (SOAP attachments) and then emails have to be send to users containing this uploaded document as the attachment.

How to send e-mail with an attachment from remote database server.???

I have tried the simple mail sending and with the attachment using UTL_SMTP. But the problem is , it is sending the mail with attachment of the file name i give, it takes and creates that file and sends as attachment not from the actual file location. I am trying to attach the file which i stored in remote database server.

Emails are not delete from the handheld/server

Hello,
Our client has Blackberry 8330.
Emails are not deleted nor from the server nor from the phone. Maybe there any other setting set? Or are these settings set wrong?

As discussed in the KB I linked for you, it depends. If, in the top grid, there is a YES in the Wireless Deletion column for the subject email service AND you have further configured, as per the KB you found, for deleted item reconciliation, then yes it should delete from the server when you delete from the HH.
Note that there may be a time lag, however -- deleted item reconciliation tends to be one of the lowest priority activities inside of both BIS as well as the email providers systems...I've seen it take up to 24 hours (not normally, but that's the extreme that I've witnessed).
Further, I believe that the on-HH setting for "Keep Messages" should have no effect on the server...deleted item reconciliation is a function of the end user actually deleting from the HH...not the auto-removal by virtue of this setting.

Emailing Your Own Attachment from an XFA Form

Is there any way to send an email with an attachment from a XFA PDF created in designer?, where the attachment is not one of the "built-in" options (XML, pdf etc.).
I want to be able to email the encrypted XML.
If not, how can XML data be securely submitted?

Issue to send email (using sp_send_dbmail) with an attachement located in other server within the same network

I have two servers. One is for databases (DB) with the mail server configured and the other is for SSIS without mail server. Both servers are in the same network. On the SSIS server the SSIS package exports data from the DB server table
to xls file. The file is saved in SSIS server. When I created a task to send the email (using sp_send_dbmail) to attach that file, I got the error message:
Error: Executing the query "EXECUTE [msdb].[dbo].[sp_send_dbmail]
@profile_na..." failed with the following error: "Attachment file H:\test.xls is invalid.".
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Where are you running this?
If its in the other server (DB) you need to use UNC path to the SSIS server folder where file resides
Also the executing account should have access to the folder as well as the file. So If you're running this from a job make sure you either provider folder and file access to sql agent job service account or create a separate proxy account with the required
permissions and configure the job to use the account

Issue in sending the email with XL attachment in ECC version

Hi,
I have an issue with sending the email with XL attachment. My program is sending a mail to the receiver with XLS as attachment. Recently we have migrated from 4.6B to ECC version. Same code was worked in 4.6B.But it is not working in ECC version.When i try to open the attachment, i get a Dialog Box with the following message
"The file is not in a recognizable format.
1. if you know the file is from another program whih is incompatible with Microsoft excel,click cancel,then open this file in its original application
2.If you suspect the file is damaged, click help for more information about solving theproblem.
3.if you still want to see what text is contained in the file, click OK.Then click the text import wizard. "
when i click OK, the excel sheet is opening with all required data.
Can anyone kindly tell me why this is happening.

Html email with blob attachment and authentication

I have been looking for a plsql package to send html emails with blob attachments. The html portion and the blob attachment are more than 32k.
Also the email server needs to be authenticated.
Does anyone know of something already written to do this? I’ve found lots of code that does one or two items but not all.
Must:
- Authenticate
- Html email
- Accept blob as input parameter for attachment
- Exceed 32k
There are so many routines, I’ve been searching looking for one which does all.

This works for authentication:

My requrement are, to send emails to particular person "PDF" attachment and "XML" attachments.
i did pdf by using convert spool to pef and send email to that vendor.its working .
But i dnt know how to send email with XML attachment.Is there any function for convert spool to xml and email to that vendor.Please send me code ASAP.
