PL/SQL Errors in OTN XMLNews Application
I try to install the OTN XMLNews Application.
My database is 9.2.0.4 on Linux
When I run the xmlnews.sql script I get the following errors:
SQL> SHOW errors;
Errors for PROCEDURE UPDATEXMLNEWSDESC:
LINE/COL ERROR
8/5 PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
8/12 PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
When I query user_errors and recompile I get:
SQL> select object_name, object_type from user_objects
2 where status='INVALID';
OBJECT_NAME
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------OBJECT_TYPE
UPDATEXMLNEWS
PROCEDURE
UPDATEXMLNEWSDESC
PROCEDURE
SQL> alter procedure updatexmlnews compile;
Warning: Procedure altered with compilation errors.
SQL> alter procedure updatexmlnewsdesc compile;
Warning: Procedure altered with compilation errors.
What is wrong?

I created the tables by hand, edited the script so it did not drop the user and create the tables. The script the ran with out any errors.

I had gone thru metalinks and i found few docks saying change of width of file_name
I am enclosing the details
the below is the change i did in rep_<server>.conf
<engine id="rwEng" class="oracle.reports.engine.EngineImpl" initEngine="1" maxEngine="1" minEngine="0" engLife="50" maxIdle="30" callbackTimeOut="60000" classPath="$ORACLE_HOME/reports/jlib/oraclebarcode.jar">
and i had made an entry in reports.sh as mentioned in one of the docs in metalinks.
and i had changed the width of

The code in

which means the server is picking the jar files....
can any one tell me what can be the issue......
Advise me at the earliest................
cheers,
ALIHi Aamir,
The problem is that divisor by 0 (zero) is not possible.
So you need to make sure that in your calculation there's no division by zero.
In your case :bugamt is equal to zero then you will get this error.
So just make sure that :bugamt is not equal to zero.
You can do this as follows:
function avggFormula return Number is begin
IF :bugamt != 0 THEN
:cp_1 := (:bugamt-nvl(:totexp,0)/:bugamt)*100 ;
END IF;
return(:cp_1);
end;

Error while assigning an application to a user
Hi All,
I am new to Oracle Database Lite. I have created a new user and i want to assign a Sample application which comes while installing the mobile server. But while assigning the Sample application to a user through the application page, i got "ERROR: VIRTUAL PATH IS NULL" and when i wanted to assign the Sample application to a user through the user page, i got "Error in executing " Save application ":oracle.lite.web.resource.ResourceException: CONS-10050: Rollback failure: java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Connection reset by peer: socket write error "
So can any one help me how to resolve this error so that i can assign the application to a user?
Any help is welcomed.
ShrikantThanks Scott. I've also been looking for a pattern of consistency that would point to the cause of the problem but have been unable to find one. I was hoping that others may have experienced the same error and could help to shed some light here.
I dug around some and found that the wwv_flows_alias_idx constraint is a unique index on the alias and security_group_id columns of wwv_flows. My application has an alias that is the same for all installations so I thought that somehow a previously used value for security_group_id was being generated causing the unique constraint violation. Can you tell me how that value is generated during the install process? Is it some sort of hashing function?
Thanks -

Hello,
strange, you have the same message in SQL Server forum, but we can see Oracle DB here:
SQL ERROR
Without developer traces it would be difficult to say. But it looks bad enough because of kernel 6.20 patch level 1511 (definitely dboraslib.dll has similar patch level) and Oracle 8.1.7 are out of support since years.
best regards -

regards,
krishnaiah.Hi,
This is usually a SERVER SIDE DATABASE PROBLEM or SQLNET LISTENER (server side) PROBLEM. The client side should initially be ignored and instead the server should be investigated. In rare cases, this can be caused by client
side memory or other resource problem, or a DLL version mismatch, but this is
unlikely.
Enlist the assistance of your DBA. Then reproduce the ORA-3113 error on your
client application. Ask your DBA to look at the database side Alert.log and
trace files and look for ANY activity. Any activity that coincides with your
ORA-3113 will be a clue.

While running the livecache server test a native sql error occures
We are using scm4.1 livecache 7.5.0 And every time we are running the livecache test program he is dumping
whith the following dump
patch level scm & scm_basis is 8
Runtime Errors DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR
Except. CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR
Date and Time 31.10.2005 16:50:55
ShrtText
An SQL error occurred when executing Native SQL.
What happened?
Error 600 occurred in the current database connection "LCA".
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
How to correct the error
Database error text........: "Work rolled back: DbpError -28814 in
APS_ORDER_CH"
Database error code .......: 600
Triggering SQL statement...: " ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
? ? ? ? ? ? ? or'"
Internal call code.........: "[DBDS/NEW DSQL]"
Please check the entries in the system log (Transaction SM21).
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
use the following search criteria:
"DBIF_DSQL2_SQL_ERROR" CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERRORC
"/SAPAPO/SAPLOM_PLANNING" or "/SAPAPO/LOM_PLANNINGU08"
"/SAPAPO/OM_ORDER_CHANGE"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
Save->Local File (unconverted)".
2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
"System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.
The exception must either be prevented, caught within the procedure
"/SAPAPO/OM_ORDER_CHANGE"
"(FUNCTION)", or declared in the procedure's RAISING clause.
To prevent the exception, note the following:

the error DbpError -28814 denotes that an object cannot be found.
Can you maybe tell me your exact liveCache version (incl. Build level) and LCA Build?
Additionally, please copy the relevant error information from the file (/sapdb/data/wrk/<SID>/)knldiag.err into this thread.
Which exact 'liveCache test program' are your referring to (which of the /SAPAPO/... transactions)?
Kind regards,

Hi All,
I am trying to implement SSO authentication for my APEX application. I have registered the application as a SSO partner application.
I have set the authentication scheme to Oracle Application server Single Sign On.
When i run the application i am getting the below error.
Error in portal_sso_redirect: missing application registration information: p_partner_app_name:g_listener_token:HTML_DB:ofss220104.in.oracle.com:5050Please register this application as described in the installation guide.
Please help me to resolve this.
Thanks and Regards,
SuhasSuhas,
After you registered your application as a SSO partner application did you use the information from Oracle SSO (home URL, success URL, Logout URL, app_name etc) and loaded it into the APEX_SSO schema using the regapp.sql script from the ssosdk?
Step 4 of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/testcontent/sso-partner-app-100552.html#INSTALL

How to create a view in sql workshop depending on an application item value
Hello,
How coud I create a view in SQL worshop based on an application item value? For example select id, name
from gg_provider
where user = ' || :USER
So basically each user would have it's own view. But it does not work like that. I think when I use :USER then the database takes database user not the user logged in to apex application. How would be possible to use application user to create the view?
Thank you very much.Instead of
:APP_USER
use
v('APP_USER')

insert into table
select * from table(fn_split('2,4,2,5,7'));Do you understand what a string literal is? You cannot provide a varchar2 string that exceeds 4000 bytes from within SQL. Fact. It just cannot be done.
If you are passing the string from a user interface using a datatype that supports more than 4000 bytes, and you pass it directly to PL/SQL code by calling the function or procedure directly (not using SQL) then you can use up to 32767 bytes for your VARCHAR2.
The code you've posted (which happens to be some of my own code posted years ago on these forums) takes a VARCHAR2 as an input. You would have to change that to accept a CLOB datatype and work on the CLOB instead. However, you still wouldn't be able to pass in a string literal of more than 4000 bytes from SQL for it.
Looking at your other thread: Seperate the string value
... it looks like the 'user' is trying to pass in a table definition. What is it your application is trying to do? Surely you are not trying to create a table at run time?
So explain, what is the business issue you are trying to solve? We may be able to provide a better way of doing it. -

Shailendra DevYou are using Java import syntax. You should use @page directive in JSP pages. Refer to: http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/syntax/2.0/syntaxref2010.html
[The line "org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /result.jsp(1,4) Invalid directive"
in the stack trace tells you that there is no @import directive] -
Recently i upgraded my SharePoint server 2013 to SP1, after the upgrade i received following message in manage database Status page " Databases running in compatibility range, upgrade recommended"
for Business Data Connectivity Database. Then i ran Sharepoint Configuration wizard, which fixed that error on that page but i am getting a error message while accessing BDCApplication page in manage service applications pagein central admin"
An internal database error occurred in the Business Data Connectivity Shared Service. SQL Error Number : 229
Sys Log :
The BDC Service application failed due to a SQL Exception: SQLServer host WSQLD05\DV. The error returned was: 'The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'proc_ar_GetAdministrationMetadataCatalogByPartitionId', database 'sp_BusinessDataConnectivity_DV13',
schema 'dbo'.'
I checked the Db role of the service app pool account, it has SPDataAccess permission over the Database. i cant recreate another application without knowing the root cause. I hope i can get better option to troubleshoot the issue.
Thank youAs per the error message, you can at least grant the BDC service application pool account the EXECUTE perimssions on the sp_BusinessDataConnectivity_DV13 database
