Now I dont know what i have to study next for getting query related jobs.No clue in what country you are. So a general answer:
But besides studying, you'll need a mentor, an experienced person who may help you either though his/her network or his/her own belief you're able to do the job.
Now I dont know what i have to study Besides studying, it is important to gain 'real-life' experience.
OTN forums (where we're now)
and the Oracle Documentation @ http://tahiti.oracle.com
and AskTom @ http://asktom.oracle.com
will give you many examples and explanations.
Do some searches, your question has been asked before.
But in the end: if you want a job, besides keeping up to date regarding technology, you'll need a network as well, I think that's universal nowadays.
Good luck and all the best.

Thanks in Advance.Search in http://www.oracle.com/education/certification for suitable certiifcations and more info:
You may want to consider one of the following:-
    SQL Certiifed Expert (1z0-047).
    PL/SQL OCA (1z0-144 (or 1z0-147)).
As mentioned previouly application express ma suit ... or something down tehe BI line.
Worth checking out the recent Beta's especially perhaps wrt BI. These may suit , or they may be too product specific

  • Oracle Database 11g Administrator or Oracle PL/SQL and Forms Developer?

    Hi,
I am thinking about doing an Oracle certification course- Oracle Database 11g Administrator or Oracle PL/SQL and Forms Developer.
Oracle Database 11g OCP and OCM certification requires 3 mandatory training courses to be completed that costs between $1900 and $3250/each. Oracle PL/SQL certication doesn't require any mandatory training course.
Which one of these would be a good choice? Please advise.
    Thank you,
    Tracy

Regardless of which path you want to take, in order to get the OCP certification in either the DBA or PL/SQL developer track, you must first obtain the respective OCA certification for that track. I'm assuming that since you are still undecided in which path to take that you haven't started working on either yet. If you look at the pages for the OCA DBA and OCA PL/SQL Developer certs and what is required for each, you'll see that the first block of tests for either certification (the SQL based exams) has the same options (1Z0-007, 1Z0-047, 1Z0-051) and passing one of those SQL based exams gives credit towards obtaining both OCA certifications. That might be a good place to start.
Doing one of these tests first might give you some extra time to decide which track you want to pursue. But as Justin said, it really depends on what you do (or plan on doing) in your career as to which path might be more beneficial for you.
As for the OCM level stuff, I wouldn't even think about it until you get the OCP. One step at a time... Same with OCP before OCA. That being said, my suggestions are just that, suggestions. You're free to take any exams/courses in any order, but you won't be able to obtain the certs until you have completed the requirements for each.

  • Create database table using Forms Developer 6/6i without using SQL*Plus

    hello there,
I need help in creating tables in Oracle using Forms Developer 6/6i without using SQL*Plus interface.
    your help is appreciated
    email: [email protected]

please use Forms_ddl package to create a table dynamically
    from the Developer6/6i.
you can check the success or failure by using the
    form_success builtin.
if u want to avoid using the Forms_ddl package
use stored procedure or create a sql querry record group.

  • Development integration with SQL*Forms

    Dear All:
I do work for Intergraph and have a custommer who is asking about any development (like an OCX) for developing SQL*Forms with the help of that OCX (or whatever available tool) from the inside of our "object oriented Automation Server" called Geomedia, which is a GIS (geographic information system). The thing is that they want to use SQL*Forms from Geomedia in order to develop and customize the interface of their tabular data capture modules, keeping the aspect of their outside (standalone) system, developed with SQL*Forms. Is it possible? Is there any thing available for that?
Thanks in advance for your help and comment,
    Gilberto Chavez.

    Wolfram,
I think the answer to your question is going to be no, but can you explain your requirements in detail? I don't understand what you want to do.

  • Still not able to CONNECT to Forms Developer

Yesterday I received gernerous help from forum participant Shay,
who walked me through the setup process (TNS Listener and
TNSNAMES.ora, etc.) but I still cannot connect. I'm missing
    something fundamental.
I have MS Windows 2000 version of Oracle Personal Edition 8i
installed in directory ora81. The version of SQL*Plus that
came with it works fine--I can connect to the database, create,
    drop, insert, etc.
Oracle Forms Developer 6 is installed in directory orant. I can open
the application but not connect. I tried to use Net8 Easy Config to
define a new entry in tnsnames.ora, but every attempt fails in the
GUI's test. (I told Shay that I got the test to work, but I was
mistaken.) Next I manually changed the the tnsnames.ora file in
orant\NET80\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora, which then shows up in the Config
tool but still fails the test to connect. How does this tnsnames.ora
file work with the tnsnames.ora file in ora81\network\ADMIN?
Meanwhile, Personal Edition is running fine. The tnslsnr is running.
I looked both in Services and, using Task Manager, in Processes.
Oracle.exe is also running. I ran lsnrctl status and got the following:
    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)
    (KEY=EXTPROC1)))
...and then it gives status info, which indicates listener is on.
How do you get Forms Developer to connect to the database that is
    clearly running?

Start the Oracle Net8 Easy Config from the start menu. Add a new service name:add the name of your database. Choose "Bequeath" as a type of protocole because you are connecting to a local database which is on your own machine. Change the default SID to the name of your database.
I think it will work .

  • Calling Stored procedure in Oracle 11g from Oracle forms developer 6i

We have Oracle 11g (11.1.0.7.0 ) database (64 bit) installed on Windows Server 2008.
In this database, we have stored procedure ABC(arg1) which is accesing a table in another instance through DB LINK. If we EXECUTE this procedure from SQL/TOAD. It runs successfully and generates the desired output.
If we write the contents of the stored procedure in the PROGRAM UNIT / ANY TRIGGER in FORM 6i then also, It runs successfully and generates the desired output.
It is also mentioned, that if we try to use any table in the same instance (and not through DBLINK) then it works fine.
However, if we try to call this stored procedure (which is  accesing a table in another instance through DB LINK) from  ORACLE FORMS  6i  in WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger then the FORM BUILDER gets hanged while compiling the form developed in FORMS 6i.
Please provide a solution to this problem.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE.
    Hemant Singh.
    Asstt. Manager(IT)
    Software development team.

Forms 6i was never meant to run against a 11g database, this was not tested and is also not supported.Well, that is not completely true. Developer 6i is supported against a 11g database, but only for Oracle Apps R11. That means that for most other customers (not Apps) Forms 6i will work against an 11g database. However, only Apps R11 is supported, and patches are only created specifically for Apps. We are also running Forms 6i against an 11g database without (well, minor) problems.
In this case, you need to find a solution. You can try to put the stored procedure in a package. The package body, with the reference to the remote table, will be hidden from Forms this way.

  • Where to buy the study guide for Oracle Forms Developer 9i or 10g

Hi, I am learning Oracle Forms Developer Build Internet Application. I am comfortable with SQL and PL SQL. I need authenticate Oracle Study Guide for Forms Developer which will help me in learning basics to advance level but I cannot afford the classroom course, it is beyond my pocket capacity. So I would like to know if Oracle sell only the study guides. I inquired at Book Shops in my area but did not get any help.

    Affan wrote:
I just went through Oracle Press and Sybex websites and it seems none of the books available suits my requirement. Not everyone can afford class room training unless it is fully or partially sponsored by their employers. And I don't understand what people learn in just 5 days. All the information you need to learn the products and pass the certification exams is available in the freely available Oracle documentation. Sure, it's nice to have the Oracle University training or exam prep books which is often specifically focused on the topics on the certification exam, rather than having to combine data from a few different manuals. But there the free Oracle documentation is pretty darned complete and you'll likely learn more from working through that documentation than you would from the Oracle University material just because you've got to do the work to put things together.

  • User Defined Components in Forms Developer???

    Hello everybody,
Just three questions on which the answer I can't find:
    1. Can we create our COMPONENTS (GUI or anything) with and for Forms Developer 2000 ? And If yes how (does anyone knows any documentation???)
    2. Can we create a program splash screen for a program in Oracle Developer and If yes how ( is there any tutorial ?) ?
    3. Can we (and how) install our application icon in Forms created with Dev2k? (You know the small icon appears in the top-left corner of the application window)
    Thanx in advance,
    George ;-)

    Hi George,
Yeah u can change the icons of application window. U have to do the following steps
1)Attach the PL/SQL library D2KWUTIL.PLL to your module.
2)In Pre-Form trigger use the following procedure/function from the attached pll.
    Win_Api_Utility.Get_Active_Window function
    Win_Api_Session.Change_MDI_Icon procedure
example of how i did in pre_form trigger
    declare
    a pls_integer;
    begin
    a:=Win_Api_Utility.Get_Active_Window (FALSE );
    Win_Api_Session.Change_MDI_Icon (a,'c:\npmis\icons\rt_exit.ico',0);
    end;
for more information on the package see form help.
    Hope this solves your problem.
    enjoy.....

  • Oracle JDeveloper or Forms Developer

    Hi all,
I am currently developing web based application using JDeveloper with BC4J and JSP. Somehow I have seen the demo on Oracle web site of web based application develop using Forms Developer and deploy to 9iAS with applet use for creating user interface on the web browser. You seem to be able to create better interface with Forms Developer (it is like running windows user interface on the web browser). So I would like to ask any experienced Oracle Developer to give some pros and cons of these two approach and how it migth be integrated to create a powerful web application. Please shed some light on this matter, this would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards

Check out http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms/htdocs/FormsJavaSOD.html - this touches on the differences between JDeveloper and Forms as a development tool.
Forms uses PL/SQL for its business logic where as JDeveloper uses Java. You can still build "Forms like" applications in JDeveloper as well - this is a feature called JClient which allows you to build Java Clients (Forms is a Java Client as well).
Of course you could also develop your application with BOTH tools and blend them together; for example, a Forms application calling Web Services built in JDeveloper - the options are limitless!! ;o)

  • Can sql*forms version 3 run in oracle 8 or higher database

I support an application developed many years ago with sql forms version 3 - has .inp files for the source code. It is currently running on a 7.3.4 database. My bos has asked why the database cannot be updated to a newer version. It is my understanding theat newer versions of the database do not support the types of triggers used in sql*forms. is this correct?
    thanks

all objects documented below are located in C:\...TNS_Admin folder (instant client install path similar to path structure mentioned by EdStevens). The tnsnames.ora and SQLNet.ora1 were copied from Development_Suite\NETWORK\ADMIN.
Here are several key entries from tnsnames.ora :

    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (LDAP, TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT, ONAMES, HOSTNAME)
Here is Listener.Ora - looks totally wrong - likely created when I installed 11g_r2 is my guess
    # listener.ora Network Configuration File: C:\Program Files\app\Oracle\tns_Admin\listener.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

  • Source for oracle 9i Forms developer certification

    Hi,
Someone told me that oracle 10g & 11 g are mainly for those interested in database administration. But, since i am interested in developers certification i want to go for oracle 9i forms developer certification ( I want to have knowledge about Forms, reports etc)
Can we learn it without any tutions ??
If yes, can you please specify websites or book names??
    Thanks & regards

    closeguy2005 wrote:
    Hi,
Someone told me that oracle 10g & 11 g are mainly for those interested in database administration. Wrong.
I could write an essay, but some of my views are:
I am sure the Oracle would regard databases Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g as later versions of the Oracle Database that are generally upwards compatible with 9i but also with newer and better features.
Because there are significant(ish) adminstration differences in these database versions there is emphasis of these database administration certifications.
On the developer size yes PL/SQL has also improved, but the requirement for a newer certifiaction exam (at OCP level) was perhaps not quite so pressing:
This seems to be addressed version of the pl/sql exam, 1z0-144 (in beta), but from history even after 1z0-144 is fully released most forums vistors will go for 1z0-147 rather than 1z0-144 (see 1z0-007 versus 1z0-051 posts).
Also note that newer tools versions may not be closely coupled to newer database versions.
But, since i am interested in developers certification i want to go for oracle 9i forms developer certification ( I want to have knowledge about Forms, reports etc)
I suspect from a developers point of view oracle 9i forms developer is so similar to oracle 10g forms developer there is not much need/demand for a oracle 10g forms developer certification. (I would expect more emphasis to be put on producing an application express certifiaction anyway)
Can we learn it without any tutions ??
    Not impossible but hard.
Oracle Recommended course woudl be: [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getlppage?page_id=212&path=FMDT]
If yes, can you please specify websites or book names??
    - And courses:
    - Oracle have some self study CDROMs : [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getSearchResults?p_output_style=T&p_search_category_id=1278&p_search_format=2]
    - There may be some fair/good courses arround. In india I think, butt am not sure, sql_star are an authorised partner and give forms training. Beware of unauthorised training.
    - In terms of books
There are probably more bad forms books than good ones, and most are going out of print (consider second hand). Some sites like amazon have reviews.
    - Websites:
    - If you see or are given any websites at a miinimum check the URL through [http://www.certguard.com]
    - The one site I know of is [http://www.iselfschooling.com]. Its not got a RED at certguard, and its not got a full green either. Theres a few lessons you can get for free. For learning forms definitely no problems. If going straight for a certification then may be bad. But I believe its more training orientated than dump orientated and I believe their using original materials (if anyone knows different please let me know and certguard know and I'm have for this post to be edited or deleted).
