PL/SQL process and popup URL
Hi,
I have a PL/SQL process which is called on submit but a button. This Pl/SQL creates a file on the web-server and I then want to open this file in a new browser window using the URL path to it. Can this be done from pl/sql or do I need to embed some javascript somewhere in the page. My eg block is :-
begin
pack.proc(15);
owa_util.mime_header('application/vnd.ms-word');
htp.init ;
owa_util.redirect_url('http://server:port/my_dir/myfile.doc');
end;
The redirect doesnt do anything.
Thanks for any assistance,
Brandon

Page having PL/SQL process and Automatic Row Process for 2 different tables
Hi,
I have a page containing 2 regions A & B.
Region-A content would be updated to table T1(PK : Ticket#).
Region-B content would be inserted into table T2(PK: Attachment# ; FK: Ticket#).
Region-B is used for uploading a file content into T2.
Since I cannot use 2 DML processes on the page for 2 different tables with a common column, so I have a PL/SQL process to update the record into T1 and an Automatic Row Process(DML) for inserting into T2.
Now the issue is in Region-B when I select a file using 'Browse' button and click on Upload button to fire the Automatic Row Process, the success message is displayed but the file is not uploaded into the table. But when I moved the entire Region-B and the Automatic Row Process to a different page and clicking Upload is working fine and inserting the record into the table along with the file content.
An item P10_TICKET_NUMBER with source type as Database column with source value as TICKET_NUMBER is used in Region-A.
I have gone through the forums and found some of the threads below
Re: 2 Automated Row Processes for one page?
Re: Error when trying to create 2 Forms on same page on 2 tables with ID as
where people facing similar issues but here I have followed the solution provided(with one PL/SQL process and other Automatic process) in the threads but still issue persists.
Can anyone throw some light on this please.

Hello,
We have an intranet platform with 8000 users on SharePoint 2007.
We currently have issues every day around 9am or 8:30am : The intranet is not responding (white page loading during minutes) until we kill a process in SQL that is blocking every other process.
The process that is blocking other calls a procedure called : "proc_MatchSchedSubscriptions"
This procedure manage 3 tables :
SchedSubscriptions
EventLog
EventSubsMatches
We notice that the Table EventLog has 1.3M entries after 4 days (this table is cleaned every weeks right ?).
This is a really an issue because if we don't kill the process, the intranet won't work at all. We have to do that almost every morning.
Thanks you by advance,

Hi,
I have a page A with a button, clicking on which will forward (forwardImmediate) to Page B. Even in page B there is a button which will take you back (again forwardImmediate) to page A. When I click the button in Page A, it takes me to Page B without any issues but the page URI still points to that of Page A!! Similarly when I click the button in Page B it forwards to Page A, but the URL shown in the page is that of page B (note that I am not sharing the AM between pages, both are having different AMs). Can somebody let me know is this is the expected behaviour when pageContext.forwardImmediate is used? How this can be solved (to show the correct URL)?
Issue with the above is -
In Page A I have one more button which opens a Java Modal Popup window (using openWindow javascript) where user can create some records and clicking on Close in the popup should get closed and refresh the base page (not full page refresh, only a particular VO is refreshed to ensure that newly created record is reflected in base page). This is absolutely working fine when Page A is opened and popup button is clicked. But when I navigate to Page B (by clicking the button), then comeback to Page A from Page B(again using the button available in Page B), then open the popup and click on Close in the popup, it throws the error "Opener is Null or Not an object" OR "Object required" error (I am using JavaScript "window.opener.submitForm('DefaultFormName') and window.close" in the popup for close button event). Can anybody help me with this? Since this is happening only in the particular scenario (page navigation), I assume that the issue should be with URL or something. Please help.
Thanks in Advance,
ShreePlease use pageContext.sendRedirect() to show the appropriate URLs. Please go through the servlet/JSP topic understand the difference between sendRedirect and forwardURL. But, I doubt if the above would resolve the issue as it seems to be some JS specific error. Please check with the JS code.

Dimension build using SQL table and process to fill the SQL table
I have a dimension in a cube that is manually* built by one of our power users. Now I have to get all the member information of that dimension into a SQL table(example : with columns...level0,level0property,level1,level1property etc....) to use that table in STUDIO for member load.
Is there any easy process to do this? Currently I am building each and every row manually in that SQL table and there are 1100+ members in that manually built dimension. Please advice.Thank you so much Glenn!! That worked!! You make our lives so much easier!!

Import and process larger data with SQL*Loader and Java resource
Hello,
I have a project to import data from a text file in a schedule. A lager data, with nearly 20,000 record/1 hours.
After that, we have to analysis the data, and export the results into a another database.
I research about SQL*Loader and Java resource to do these task. But I have no experiment about that.
I'm afraid of the huge data, Oracle could be slowdown or the session in Java Resource application could be timeout.
Please tell me some advice about the solution.
Thank you very much.With '?' mark i mean " How i can link this COL1 with column in csv file ? "

Is it possible to have a fixed column width and a URL link?
I am trying to achieve having a popup link on a column within a SQL report but also have the report column a certain width. I can have either or however not at the same time.
What I did was created a SQL report, edited a column and gave it a URL redirect (page in application) as normal.
For the fixed column width, I used:
<div style="width:250px; height:54px; overflow:hidden" title="#Comments#">#Comments#</div>On Column Formatting / HTML Expression
And for the popup URL, I used:
onclick="window.open(this.href,'_blank','resizable=0,scrollbars=0,width=650,height=300,menubar=0,location=0');return false;" title="Comments"On the Column Link / Link AttributesAndy thank you for your reply, however I either am not completly understanding or there is a problem elsewhere.
I have changed to the code to fit the needs of the application as so:
!http://i41.tinypic.com/2m6mrh4.jpg!
App ID: 523
Page: 23
Item: P23_STATUS_COMMENT
Column to select: Comments
Whenever clicking on the link, the following error is given:
Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
Error ERR-7620 Could not determine workspace for application ().{code} -

Thanks & RegardsHi,
Finally it's resolved...Following is the solution thought to share in the forum:
The configuration of the E-Business Suite environment for DMZ requires profile options hierarchy type to be set
to SERVRESP.
To change the profile options hierarchy type values to SERVRESP, execute the following SQL script as
shown below:
sqlplus / @/patch/115/sql/txkChangeProfH.sql SERVRESP
After successfully completing the above sql script, run Autoconfig in all nodes to complete the profile options configuration.
It's resolved after doing this.. -
How to show result from process in popup page?

Count number of rows from oracle and sql database and generate a report
Hi All,
Can someone help me in writing a java program for the following scenario?
1. Read the number of rows available from oracle table and print the total row count in a Report.txt text file.
2. Read the number of rows inserted in a sql database (after a specific process-just an information) and print the total row count in the same text file Report.txt .
3. Read the Error Log file (which is generated after a specific process say it has success and failed report for each iterations) and print the number of success and number of failure in the same text file Report.txt .
I need the final Report.txt file in the following format:
1. Oracle table <table name> has 500000 rows.
2. After completion of the specific process 300000 rows were added to SQL table <table name>
Error Log Report:
300000 successfull entries and 200000 failed entries were found from the Error Log file.Thanks for your immediate reply.

}I'm just codding the second half which is for connecting to oracle databse and calculates the row count and displayes in the command prompt.
then connects to SQL database and counts successfull insert in the table.(row count) and displayes on the command prompt.
can you simplify the above code so that i can call the oracleDB() method and SqlDB() method seperately from another calss file using the object of this class?
I'm ok if the report can be seen in a command prompt. FInally i need to calculate the success and failure count from the log file. will let you know once i'm done with codding. -
Refreshing Page after PL/SQL Process Completes
Reader's Digest Condensed Version: I have been unsuccessful searching the forum for a method to Refresh the current page AFTER the execution of a PL/SQL Process defined on the same page.
War & Peace Version: I have a page which displays multiple records for editing on P1001. I also utilize a checkbox in combination with a button to perform some intermittent steps. Essentially, the user selects a row to "clone" by checking the appropriate checkbox and clicking the "clone" button. The first thing the button executes is a JavaScript function on page P1001, which calls a popup window (P1010) so the user can select a new value for the primary key. This is required to maintain data integrity of course and avoid duplicate records. Page P1010, contains two text fields with Popup links for each. The user can either enter their values directly, or use the link which will calls another JavaScript function to call a popup page P2 to display the results of an SQL query. Once the user makes their selections, another JavaScript function on P1010 passes back the selected values and stores them in hidden variables on P1001. At this point, I want my PL/SQL process, CLONE_RECORD, to execute examining the values from the record to-be-cloned and the new primary key values. The PL/SQL checks the database to see if the record already exists. If it does not, then validation of the data occcurs and a SQL insert string (myInsertSQL) is generated. I then "execute immediate myInsertSQL;" and "commit;" from within my PL/SQL. The procedure terminates, and at this point I want the original page P1001 to refresh. If the insert was successful, the new cloned record should be displayed along with the other previously displayed records.
I am having issues with the timing because I am able to insert the cloned record into the database, but I have to manually refresh my page to see the resulting new record. I know that PL/SQL is executed on the server and that JavaScript is executed at the browser, but how can I synchronize my process, or at least perform an HTML POST(?) to refresh the page at the end of my PL/SQL procedure?
As always, any assistance is greatly appreciated.
MovingTarget
PS. I am using HTMLDB 2.0 so please be kind.MovingTarget,
Before I get into this I want to make sure you understand that in general, unless it's a really long process, you want the submitting page to have an On Submit process that calls your PL/SQL process. Then you can provide a branch back to the same page if you like or to any other page for that matter. Also, the PL/SQL error handling in ApEx is not too great right now but there are plans to improve it in the next version. In the mean time you have to use some tricks if you want to display "pretty" messages on exceptions.
I'll tell you how I would approach this and let you tell me why it would not work or what I'm not getting...
You have a main page, that in order to submit, needs a pk value populated from a popup (pu1), which in turn calls another popup (pu2). I'll create an imaginary situation in which I might have the same pages... I'm populating a users table (legacy) with a pk that is a combination of the employee's dept and name. The pu1 shows departments and pu2 shows emps in those departments.
So, I click "add new user", then click on a button that opens pu1. I see the departments and then click on another button that opens pu2 to see the names. I click on a name and user JavaScript to close the popups and populate and item on the parent page with a string that is made from the employees department and name. NOW I click "save". The page submits and calls a PL/SQL process that passes in the values from the parent page to the INSERT process. After the process is run a branch redirects the user back to the same page and displays the success message from the PL/SQL process.
I hope that didn't just make things worse! lol

Source for Custom Action Table in SQL 2008 and above.
Up till SQL 9.0, there used to be a CustomAction table in SqlRun.msi but this file was removed in the later versions. Is this still there in any other file or is there an alternate source for pausing the install process at a certain stage?
yupSQLrun.msi is removed from 2008 onwards but it was not used for stopping intall process as per below link it was used for starting SQL server and getting info about list of application installed

My TechNet Wiki Articles -
Hi all,
In the middle of the last week for my final year project and having to convert to an Oracle database due to compatibility problems with university Tomcat Server and MS Access. I'm having trouble connecting to the Oracle database and would appreciate some help please.
Running on Windows 98 in the lab here, and the Oracle 9i, release 9.2.0.2.0, J2SDK1.4.0, Classes12.zip installed OK.
Code for connection looks like this inside the constructor of my class:
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
cardSaleConnexion = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:[email protected]:1521:sid","user_name","pwdt");
System.out.println("Connection Successful ");
And I'm getting the following error when calling the constructor in a driver program:
java.sql.SQLException: Invalid Oracle URL specified

Please reply on a very urgent basis.
Kind regards,
PeterTry ojdbc14.jar as the JDBC driver instead of classes12.zip.
