Place Dialogue Box is HUGE and won't resize

When I hit File Place, the dialogue box takes up the entire screen, and I can't resize it. The only way I can resize is if I hit "Use Adobe Dialog" in the bottom left of the screen. That lets me resize, but if I ever hit "Use OS Dialog" and hit Place again, it returns to the huge size. It has only been doing this since yesterday.

You might also be able to do it without importing the songs again I think. Just highlight the tracks, right click them and choose "Get Track Names". This feature only works on CDs that were imported via iTunes.

You might have voice over enabled. Connect to iTunes and disable voice over under configure universal access.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.6 Sticky Note Icons are huge and can not resize

My coworker is having a problem with the size of the Sticky Note (comments) Icon. It is huge and we can not resize.
When you open the icon, it takes up the whole page. We can change the Font size, but the actual icon will not resize.
The same document opened up from someone else, the icon views normal. We all have Adobe Acrobat Pro V9.4.6. Any suggestions on a fix?

Your reply also helped fix a problem I had with not being able to resize sticky notes. My original display resolution meant that the resize symbols in the lower corners of the sticky note weren't accessible. In Acrobat X, the setting is under Acrobat, Preferences, Page Display, Resolution.

There's a malevolent spam site trying to take root on firefox. "California consumer survey". It inserted a "click OK" dialogue box, blocking passage (and mimicking firefox). I changed preferences to never remember history:got rid of it w/o engaging it.

Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

Accidentally created an On My Mac mailbox Now the mail dialogue box is open and frozen, with a soft pinging sound when I try to close...Can't restart computer until I close Mail, but can't close Mail.

This is my first day with my Mac and my hunch is there's a simple fix for this.

Depending on the size of the browser window the box that asks for name and email for posting quiz results can be very small. Is there any way to resize it? This is with Captivate 6 and Scalable HTML Content turned on.

These are run time messages and you can change it by the below steps:
If you want to modify specific labels that you can't modify through Captivate, you can do this with the file strings.txt, that is located in Adobe Captivate instalation folder >en_US
1. Open file
2. Modify whatever label you want
3. Save.
4. Rename to strings.zdct
5. Replace original strings.zdct file
6. Restart Captivate
I suggest you backup original strings.txt and strings.zdct files - just in case.

Firefox opens in a tiny window and won't resize. Only the upper right had corner displays.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program but I still get the same window that displays the minimize, restore and exit buttons. Exit and minimize work but restore is not available. Resize does not work. I can't get to any controls within the program to make any changes or run a troubleshooter.

Try to rename (or delete) the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

[SOLVED] Dialogue Box in Openbox

Hi all, first post so let me say I'm enjoying my Arch experience thus far and have managed with the wiki until now. My dialogue boxes are huge, I'm on a netbook and whenever I need to open a file or save a file the dialogue boxes open almost off screen.
Is there a setting I have missed somewhere where I can adjust the default size?
appreciate any nudge in the right direction.
Edit: should mention when I use geany text editor and do a "file open", the dialogue box opens to large for the window as well.

Removing the "Security Warning" dialogue box on default when a PDF is opened

I have created a pdf document with a specific data written using iText Libraries. I have actually created a beacon that generates a notification sent to the owner's email when the pdf is opened.
The code is under OpenAction. The problem I am facing is that as I open the document, a dialogue box is opened saying "Security Warning" The document is trying to connect to : URL. How do I get rid of this dialogue box. ? I don't want this dialogue box to appear and allow the connection by default. I have tried playing with the Trust Manager - but that doesn't seem to be the solution, as am trying to execute my PDF document at a remote machine.

There was a lot of media fuss years back when it was found out that PDF files could "phone home", i.e. do what you want to do. So Adobe put this warning in. It wouldn't be much good as a warning if the creator of a PDF could choose to turn it off!

When password security-setting dialogue box is opened, the bottom can't be seen or moved

Using Acrobat XI Pro on my Dell PC, I was trying to add password protection to the document. When I click on the "encrypt with password" button, the password security-setting dialogue box pops up, and I can enter the password. However, the bottom of the page is not visible and I can't move it to click the "ok" button. Any suggestions?

Which Acrobat XI Pro are you using? I think you experience the same problem that was reported on this forum in the past. I believe this problem was fixed in one of the recent versions (11.0.07??). Upgrade to the latest version and the problem should go away.

How do I stop a weird dialogue box from popping up whenever there is a youtube video embedded on a page?

Since upgrading to 10.10.3, I keep getting a dialogue box that asks me to choose an application or search the app store for some purportedly missing app to open whatever video is embedded on that page. I can just click "cancel" to skip through it, but it really slows me down and is annoyingly unnecessary since videos continue to play in a normal fashion when I click on them. I've tried uninstalling and trashing the components of Flash, but the dialogue boxes continue. And I've also tried downloading and installing the latest version of Flash to see if that was the problem, but no success. Anybody else experiencing this? Clearly this was introduced by the latest OS X software upgrade, because this did not occur before that.

I don't understand why I (not a power user) should have to go through this whole rigamarole since Apple is apparently the culprit in introducing this problem to my system, due to the upgrade to 10.10.3, but here it is:

Since upgrading to 10.10.3, I’m getting pop-up dialogue boxes on pages with embedded videos telling me that the app I need to view the video is missing and that I should search the MacApp store to find what I need (which is actually nothing at all). I have to click cancel to continue and the videos can be viewed as normally. This only started with the latest Mac version of OS X, and I blame the problem on Apple, which has apparently introduced some error into my system.

How do I delete dialogue box asking me if I want to set up Dropbox?

I just got a new 15" MacBook Pro retina display which replaced my 2009 white MacBook. I set up the iCloud for the first time on my computer and I must say I'm pleased! I used to use Dropbox so I deleted my account and thought I deleted it from my computer, but everytime I start up my computer, a Dropbox dialogue box pops up and asks me if I want to create an account. Does anybody know how I can remove is? I'd appreciate the help!

For the past couple of weeks I've been noticing this dialogue box which appears and disappears off the screen for about a fraction of a second.It appears at very random times so its not programmed to specific timing.It also provokes the colour wheel to spin, sometimes my Macbook Pro completely freezes for no more than 15-17 seconds.My laptop is only 6 months old so I'm very concerned about what this might mean.My software and apps are all up to date.I've also seen where this seems to be a very common problem for those who are running the OS Lion.I have accessed the logs in my console and one of the most common messages are >>>11/01/2013 08:59:59.115 UserEventAgent[137]: Could not get event name for stream/token: com.apple.time/25: 0x3: No such process. There are about 100 or more lines of this same message in my log.
Any suggestions? I appreciate the help in advance.

If the built-in firewall is enabled, disable it in the Security & Privacy preference pane and see whether there's any change.
