Place in Indesign not working

Hey guys
I know this has happened to others but havent found an answer. I have all the latest CC 2014 versions, and my copy of Bridge doesn't have the PLACE IN INDESIGN option avaliable from the contextual menu. Is there a way to fix this?

I changed some Applescripts over to InDesign CS5 from CS3 and now they do not work. Basically all the Applescript does is place a graphic in a rectangle and size it to fit. The problem is that I keep getting an error that says, ...
Adobe InDesign CS5 got an error: "Macintosh HD:Users:User:Desktop:untitled folder:1023SW.tif" doesn’t understand the place message.
I get the exact same error when I run the "Image Catalogue" script that came with Adobe InDesign CS5. The script does everything but place the image. It works just fine in CS3.
Can anyone please help me with this? A sample of the script is below. This is the one that comes with CS5 but it does not work

OK, I figured it out also.
In case anybody out there is having the same problem, this is the line of code I used:
set myGraphic to place (myArtFile as alias)
So I just changed "as string" to "as alias" and it worked.

Place object suddenly not working - please help

I have been using PS successfully for a few weeks now. But suddenly when i go to FILE....PLACE - photoshop is not acting like it used to. It places the object as a "smart object" and i cannot see it on the canvas. The only way to see it is to click on the little thumbnail on the layer - which it then opens in a seperate file. In the good ole days (of last week) when i place a file it would show up as expected. I've restarted PS, deleted preferences, and tried placing multiple files. Some files place "normally" and some are creating this problem for me. PNG's seem to work normally - but JPG's are not placing. So i converted the JPG to PNG - but PS does not fall for my trick - it still will not place the object so that i can edit it.
This is incredibly frustrating. What am i missing in this incredibly temperamental program?

I think this is connected to my problem above - another new behavior.
1. I open a file - PS automatically makes it a background image.
2. When i convert it to a layer - it disappears from my canvas. I can still see the image in the thumbnail of the layers panel - but nothing on the canvas.
What is going on here?

Clicking from Word to InDesign not working

I am trying to copy and paste from MS Word 2011 into the lastest CC InDesign 2014 (10.1.0.71) (on a Mavericks 10.9.4) and it is not working to simply click from Word into InDesign. I must use the toggle shortcut (Command + Tab) to activate the workspace in InDesign, then click my targeted text box.
This is an extra step in my workflow and has never been a problem in previous versions or any other software for that matter. Clicking a window should make that application active.
Please HELP! Fix!

Just realizing this is an issue across displays. Any software that I have on monitor B will not allow me to click into InDesign on Monitor A to activate the InDesign application. I must toggle, or click another application's window then click InDesign, to make it active.

Object layer options in InDesign not working when I revise my file in Photoshop?

I have placed a layered photoshop file on multiple pages in my InDesign document. The photoshop file has a folder for each page that I can turn on in InDesign with object layer options. This works well until I revise the photoshop file in any way. When the photoshop file changes, InDesign updates all of the versions of the placed image to some sort of default, no longering recognizing the object layers I chose before revising the file. I've tried both "update link options" at the bottom of the dialog box to no avail. Any suggestions? I am using CS6, version 8.0. Thank you.

In the Object Layers Override dialog for each instance have you got it set to preseerve the current layer visibility on relink?
That should work UNLESS you change the number, naming or ordering of layers when you edit. If you do that ID no longer knows whaat to do and always uses the current layer visibility in the saved file.

Quick Keys in Indesign not Working

I'm working on:
OSX 10.10.1
Indesign CC 2014.2
When I use my quick keys (cmd+shift) to enlarge or reduce something while maintaining the proportions it wont work. It merely resizes it without maintaining the proportions. In this instance I'm trying to resize a logo placed within a frame. I select the frame, hold down cmd+shift, and click a corner to try to reduce/enlarge it and all it does is distort my image. Any tips would be great!

Are you doing this with the type tool?
Try using the selection tool instead.

Seeing places in iPhoto - not working from some photos

Hello WWW...was hoping someone could please assit...I recently upgrated to Lion and some of my photos in iphoto are not showing "places" I attemted to "rescan location" and this appears to literally do nothing! Attempted to veiw info in the photo and all this shows is the camera (sony nex 5) that date and time the photo were taken etc but still no gps co-ordnates...How do I easily "see" my places in my 1000+ photo taken on our family holiday.

The way you assign places including a demonstration video according to the iPhoto help is:

If you have photos that don’t have GPS information, including print photos that were scanned to a disk, you can still map your photos in Places.

CS5 InDesign not working properly anymore

I recently just finished a project in InDesign and the program worked completely fine. I turned on my computer to use the program and when it opens, it's nothing but a gray window. I'm unable to use any of the tools or do anything in the new document. I also tried to open my existing projects and the same thing happens to them, it just shows up as a blank gray window. I haven't done any major changes to my computer or any updates of any sort so I have no idea what's causing this problem. Any ideas?

Place call is not working in HTTP trigger script

All,
I have basic hello script with HTTP trigger and CUCM trigger configured as well. I am trying to dial out an extension and play an prompt in my script. Running UCCX 7.0.1 with premium license. The place call step doesnt start at all when I do the debug. HTTP trigger and response works fine. Anything I am missing in the script.

Create a Contact-type variable. Set the Place Call and Play Prompt to this second contact. You cannot play a prompt or make a call to the triggering contact when the script was triggered by an HTTP contact instead of JTAPI.

CS5 InDesign not working on Mavericks

I just purchased a MacBook Pro running Mavericks OS 10.9.4. I installed CS5, v7.0.4. When I open InDesign, it tells to update all my third-party plugins. How to I do this?
I have updated InDesign - didn't help. I have reinstalled and then updated InDesign - no difference.
I have tried to follow the instructions in the InDesign Help/Troubleshoot InDesign third-party plug-ins (cpsid_50846), but I don't have a user library as outlined in step 1, nor do I have the Configure Plug-ins dialog box as outlined in step 3. All of my plug-ins are Adobe as confirmed in the extension manager.
What do I do?

Aperture and Places does not work

Hi,
i have the newest Version of OSX Lion and of Aperture 3. The Places function does not work. All Buttons and functions which are assosciated with the function of GPS are grey. I have no possibility to push any Button that has something to do with GPS Information. The Map ist a little bit light and i cannot zoom in it. It also has noch Needles to show locations. If i import some Pictures with geoinformation, aperture do not show it on the map. Some ideas please! Thank you very much.

Fault Tolerance not working between CSMs

I have two CSM modules in two differnt switches (Bridge mode) configured for high availability. After noticing one of the CSM modules was in failed mode, I reset the module. With both online a "show mod csm 3 ft" shows both modules active.
I can no longer access the real servers.
When I remove the module that I reset (Primary) I can access the servers using the backup CSM.
Whe I remove the backup CSM and insert the Primary, I cannot acces the servers once again.
The FT vlan is VLAN 7 configured on both switches and is the only allowed VLAN on the trunk.

The plan is to take a working CSM from a DR site with the same config to try in place of the not working active. I did not want to risk taking the working stanby and moving it and possibly having an outage at this time since this is a production switch being heavily utilized at the moment. I wanted to verify there was not something in the config that was not configured properly.

Lumia 710 CAMERA NOT WORKING.

Hi, I am having a lumia 710, today when i started to use my camera it wasn't working. When i press the camera button it just crashes/ closes. Even if i tried from the camera options in the menu, same error. My flash light application too does not work.
Yes, i have already updated my firmware as well.

I having same problem.... My lumina 710 camera and flash light application is not working even after restore factory setting. if i take photo in full sunlight i can get picture. if i took picture in dark place flash also not working and i am getting black image.

The radio is not working in my ipod nano, and has the correct zone, how can I make it work?

I bought the new Ipod nano, and the radio is not working. I live in the USA, and has being setting in "America" zone, but is not working!! I plugged the headphones, and I tried in different places, and I not working!!!
What could I do?

Check if the headphones are inserted all the way in till you hear a click. Hope this helps!
