Placing a multi-page Excel document

I have a 103 page Excel document that I want to place into an InDesign document.  Is there a way to place all 103 pages automatically without having to move the place cursor 103 times for each successive page?  I tried saving the Excel doc as a "more friendly" PDF, but it will only place one page at a time (although it does load up all 103 pages on the place cursor).  I'm trying to save myself from having to manually put that place cursor on each successive page and place each page of the PDF or Excel document.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
John

The script for placing a multipage PDF worked perfectly!  It took me a couple of days (on and off) to find this answer (which, in hindsight didn't really save any work time... but it's the principle, right?), but in the future this will make our multipage placements much easier.
Funny, I searched "Help" for a topic on this but found nothing.  You wouldn't know the script for multipage document placings is there unless you knew it was there!
Thanks again!  You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!

Figured it out.  It had nothing to do with the software levels of Safari or Adobe Acrobat.  Here's the fix:
    Open Finder/Applications
    Search "Internet Plug-Ins"
Move any Adobe plug-ins to the trash
    Quit Safari
    Launch Safari
Your pdf document should now render in Print Preview and print properly.

  • Editing a multi-page .pdf document

Running PSE9 under Mac OS X Mavericks.
I have a 49-page document as a single .pdf file.  I'm looking for the easiest way to:
    - Select all the pages so that I can edit any one or more pages in the file.
    - After editing, I want to save the entire file to a new file similar to the original, keeping the original as a "version".
I've tried working with this, and I get hampered with the individual pages acting like separate files.

I am also looking for feedback.  Although having a PDF copy of a document is wonderful, long term and efficient archival for my workplace is tif or tiff.
Very frustrating that the PDF to tiff creates a separate tiff file for each page of the multi-page PDF document.  Are there any options or work-arounds?

  • Saving Multi Page PDF document

On Photoshop CC 2014, I've got a psd document that includes 4 groups.  I'm trying to save it to a multi page PDF document.  When I save through File : Automate : PDF Presentation, I always end up with only one page instead of four in my multi page document.  I'm a PS rookie and can't seem to figure it out.  I imagine I'm missing a pretty important step.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

With Adobe Acrobat yes - but not with the free Adobe Reader.

Alas, for one of those mysterious adobe reasons, it's gone in recent versions. Only multipage file you can make is a photobook.

  • Adobe only prints first page of multi-page PDF documents.

On a military network,  ever since users have been upgraded to Adobe Pro 9,  only the first page of their multi-page documents will print from a particular network printer.
    The OS is Windows XP.
    Adobe Pro version is 9.1.2
Network printer is a Xerox Phaser 3500PS.
Can print other non-PDF documents to the same printer with no problems.
Can print the same PDF documents to other printers in the area and all pages go through.
No error messages on printer and no error message prints out.
I have had the users change their Font and Resource Policy to "Send for each page"
I have reloaded the Xerox Phaser 3500PS drivers.
I have had the users remove and remap the network printer.
I have had them try to print just two pages
I am unable to implement Adobe's Postscript Printer Driver as this is a military network and I cannot install unapproved software on the network printer server.
Any constructive suggestions would be appreciated.

    Figured it out.
Adobe Acrobat/Reader is apparently very picky about printer drivers.
I had to have the users delete their mapped network printers from their Printers & Faxes window.
Then I opened the registry and went to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3
I deleted the drivers for the printer(s) the customer had mapped (e.g. Xerox 6360DN, .. etc.)
    I rebooted the computer
I had the customer logon and remap their printer.
    That resolved the issue.

  • Multi-page InDesign document to single-page InDesign documents script?

I'm looking for a script that can take a multi-page Mac InDesign CS2/CS3 document and split it into single-page InDesign documents. Any ideas or comments?

Sorry I'm coming in at the end of a discussion, but there was not enough input from the O.P. Mike. Are we working on a folder of multiple ID files, or just one? Do we need to export all pages of documents or just a range? What platform is needed? Generally how many pp per document, how many documents? Cleanup needed on master pages or swatches etc?
    I'm talking in Applescript here.
Do master pages really need deleted? If not, then no problem, just leave them in. My guess would be to just have your original ID docs in a folder, and an output folder. Start a script, select your input and output folders. Script grabs first document, counts number of pages. Repeats X number of times. Delete pages except the page of current loop, do a Save-As into output folder with new doc name. Reopen (or undo) and repeat page deletion and Save-As with new name. Go to next loop with next original document.
I've written a bunch of loops that do some of these basic functions. I can't see that trying to duplicate the page structure on a new document would be very efficient in any language. Seems like too many pitfalls that could snag you, like master page items or locked items or document preferences you have to account for.
Even with my script there may be text flow issues with linked boxes.
Mike, any additional input on what you need? Thx

  • Is there a script for CS5 to export a multi-page InDesign Document to single page InDesign documents

    Hello,
I am having trouble finding a script or utility that would allow me to export each page of an InDesign CS5 document as multiple single page InDesign documents. I have found one script that does this for CS3, but nothing for CS5. Thank you for any help.

Generally speaking, if a script doesn't run in a later version, you can put it in a subfolder withteh correct version number as the name and it will work. For CS3 that would be "Version 5.0 Scripts" without the quotes.
That said, if you have Acrobat pro, it's probably easier to use the extract pages command...

  • How do I globally change the font across all pages in a multi-page PDF document

I have a 500 page document. I suceeded in changing only the font on the first page using Acrobat Pro and selecting "Edit Text and Images", selecting "All" on the first page and changing the font.  It worked perfectly.  Now I want to apply that font change to the remaining 499 pages. Any ideas?

Sorry Bill, not how it works. You can select text across a page boundary using the normal multi-select tool for copying, but you cannot edit across a page boundary. If you try to activate the ETI tool from the Content Editing panel or use the context menu "Edit Text" item, Acrobat will trim the selection to the current page only.
The previous two responses are correct - you must either repeat the edit by hand on every page, or go back to the original document and make the changes there (which is the expected workflow for such a drastic alteration).

    New mac for Christmas!

What have you tried?  I generally drop the excel file on the Numbers icon in the doc.
If you want the files to remain excel files you should get excel.  If you are ok transitioning to Numbers give it a try.  Numbers will export to excel once a file is open but does NOT natively save excel files.
You can also try OpenOffice or LibreOffice for free.

  • How do I save one page from a multi-page pdf document?

Can I take a 65 page pdf file and save it as 65 individual pages?

I know if you are using Adobe Acrobat X, you can go to the "Tools" section and then under "Pages" you will see "Extract". If you click on that while your document is open it will show you your options for extracting the pages and saving them as individual PDF files. Be sure to check the box "Extract Pages As Seperate Files" and this should help get you on your way. I hope this helps answer your question on extracting pages from a multiple page PDF.

  • Printing Multi Page PDF Document exported from iPad

I e-mailed a PDF file from my iPad using the Numbers e-mail feature. I was sending it to my office (PC dominated!) to be entered. When she opened the attachment it looked fine, but, when she went to print it, this 6 page document tried to print on one page. I had page breaks inserted, and it did print on my Mac, but, it didn't print on her PC and it didn't print on my PC Laptop. I couldn't adjust any print parameters to have it print on more than one page, so, as it stands, the iPad is a totally useless tool for me. Anyone have any ideas?

I am having the same problem. I am not able to print my number documents on a PC, my multipage Number documents are shrunk to one page when trying to print as a PDF. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Multi-page pdf documents show only the first page in safari

I suspect QT is the culprit, when I right-click the page and click About QT Plugin... nothing happens, when I then click the page [plugin failure] button shows up.

You need to maintain the relative folder structure that was used when the links were created. For example, the first link in the catalog list (0.1A 3SH Standard), is pointing to a file called "TOC-01a.pdf" that is in a sub-folder called "0.1A" under the folder where the main PDF is located.
You should really try to get the entire thing as a zip file, or have the creators of the PDF change their links to ones that point to URLs, or you'll need to spend a lot of time on re-creating the folder structure for all the links in this file (which you don't have access to unless you have Acrobat, anyway)...
