Placing PCR on Video Component in MPEG-2 Transport Stream

Hi all,
does anyone here know how to use compressor 3.0.1 to create an MPEG-2 TS (easy enough), but also place the PCR on the video component.
Also how do you about changing the PID values from the apple default?
Kind Regards,
excelsior01

Exactly: "mts". Don´t know about the camera,
but I somehow managed to export from VLC,
don´t know how, and it took about 75 min.
to render that file in FCE.
We are getting there.....
But f... the industry for these incompatible formats!

  • Bridge CS5 - no MPEG-2 transport stream preview

    Can anybody help?
    I m running Win7 64 bit, ProdPremium CS5.
I capture from camera via firewire MPEG files.
The preview in Bridge CS5 is not psossible (only thumbnail is present).
Preview using Windows media player and Nero Showtime is running fine.
No preview in G-Spot (rendering failed-following is the error reported by DirektShow).
What can i do, i dont want install some codecs, not knowing if there will be another failure or not in my system.

Let me follow up on my post about installing 3rd party CODECs:  DON"T!!!!!!!!!!
I did it and ended up having to do a clean re-install of my entire workstation from ground up.  They got in there and next thing I knew Premiere slowed to a crawl and capture went to H**L.  I was told by an Adobe staffer on this forum that I had made a big error in doing that and it was true.
Now I just wish they would help us/me resolve this no MPEG preview in Bridge and Windows Media Player.  Please, please, please!
36 hours and still re-conforming my money-machine.  rg

  • MPEG-2 Transport Stream to QT?

    Hey
Caught in the jungle of video formats....
What do I do with the above?
Plays back in VLC, but not in QT.
No matter how I export it.
    Help! Thanks!

  • MPEG-2 Video, .m2v, Transport-Streams

I have searched through all of the Forum but still no solution.
Like many people here I have QT PRO (on Leopard) and the MPEG-2 Playback Codec (Version 6.4.1) installed. When I record from TV via Cable or DVB-T I always get a MPEG-2 Transport Stream. I know how to handle these and I know how to convert them. My question is regarding the Finder Preview Issue.
When you have selected in Finder to show the Preview of a file it will go for a long cup of coffee when it comes to selecting a .m2v or MPEG Transport Stream file, i.e. the Finder crashes. This is a phenomina since QT 7. Apple promised a better handling of .m2v for the 10.3.9 Update but I cannot see any changes.
I don't need to preview those files if it is not supported. This would be nice to have but I don't really need to. Is there anyone out there who can tell me how to
    1) prevent Finder Preview from crashing or
    2) get this to work
I tried some hints from here like re-associating .m2v with the Quicktime Player but it didn't resolve my Issue. Is there maybe someone from Apple reading this and being able to help out?
    Many thanks in advance.

I may be wrong, but I don't believe "true" transport streams have ever been supported by the QT MPEG-2 Playback component and, by extension, would not be supported by either the Finder Preview or QuickLooK.

M2V/AIFF elementary stream files, "muxed" MPEG (MPEG2/MP2 or MPEG2/MP1), and MOV (MPEG2/any compatible audio) all play fine for me in both the Finder Preview and QuickLook. The only problem are VOBs whose video content play fine in the QT Player but have to have their extension changed to MPEG to play in either the Finder Preview or QuickLook. Frankly, I am unable to duplicate your problem except for "true" MPEG-2 Transport Streams, which, as I previously said I don't believe have ever been QT compatible.

  • How to Import a MPEG-3-ts (Transport Stream) into Final Cut Pro ?

    Hello All;
I just bought Final Cut Studio and I am trying to figure out how to import some video footage that I captured using ArcSoft's totalMedia software via a HD HomeRun High Definition TV decoder. I have verified that the video is being saved in MPEG-2 Transport Stream format but I've tried everything but still can't import it into Final Cut Pro. I've purchased the MPEG 2 Quicktime component but then realized that it doesn't work with Transport Streams. Then I downloaded MPEG StreamClip for Mac which does play the clips on a Mac but I need to obtain the codec so I can import them into Final Cut Pro. Any ideas would be hugely appreciated. Thanks. Tim

    I do:
"You need to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to an editable format, such as those found in Final Cut Pro's Easy Setup menu.
For HD, your best choice is ProRes, DVCPro HD or Apple Intermediate Codec."
    And so does Nick.

  • MPEG-2 with audio but no transport stream?

We have a Leightronix Nexus, which is a new whizbang digital video playback device for cable studios. It supports transfer of MPEG-2 files, but thus far I haven't been able to make a compatible MPEG-2 file with Compressor. Leightronix only does Windows so they've been of no help.
Here are the requirements as listed in the Nexus manual:
-MPEG-2 Program Stream, consisting of a single elementary video stream with an optional single elementary audio stream. In big letters it says "Transport stream is not possible."
The other specs seem fine; I think it's the lack of a transport stream that fouls it up. Compressor, in the audio checkbox, says "Select this to create an MPEG-2 Transport stream with multiplexed audio."
Is there a way to get audio into an MPEG-2 file without using a transport stream? If Compressor can't do this, are there any other (hopefully inexpensive) tools that can?
One interesting thing is if I copy one of the mpeg-2 files created on the Nexus itself (by having it digitize video), it plays quite fine in Quicktime Player.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Or, you can just use a freeware tool like MPEG Streamclip to combine Compressor's elementary .m2v output with its .AIFF audio and produce a multiplexed program stream. The $10 MPEG2 Works shareware app will also do the same (along with several other operations).

  • HT2729 What video formats (avi, MPEG, MOV, etc.) are "playable" on MacBook without adding some kind of converter?  Any?  how?

What video formats (avi, mpeg, mov, etc.) are "playable" on MacBook without any video converter?  Are there any?  How come quick time wont let me play a MPEG?  When you google this question, al the answers make me download some converter (VLC, etc.)

What video formats (avi, mpeg, mov, etc.) are "playable" on MacBook without any video converter?  Are there any?
Depends on what compressed data is in the AVI, MPEG, or MOV file container. E.g., assuming you are using the QT X v10.2 player listed in your hardware profile, a "muxed" MPEG-2/AC3 MPEG file will probably play correctly but an MPEG-2/MP2 or MPEG-2/PCM MPEG file may be problematic. In a similar manner, a Motion-JPEG/WAV AVI file probably won't play the video but play the audio while a DV audio/video AVI file will probably still play correctly.
How come quick time wont let me play a MPEG?
Agian, it depends on what you mean by an MPEG file here. A "muxed" MPEG-2/AC3 file in an MPEG, MPG, TS, or MOV file container should play correctly while the same data in a VOB file container will neither load nor play. Further, this file is not only playback compatible with the QT X v10.2 player but is now conversion compatible to H.264/AAC MOV files on my system which was a surprise to me. On the other hand, if the MPEG file contains MPEG-2 video muxed with MP2 audio (a common PC compression combination), the file will likely have audio/video sync problems and/or freeze up entirely. However, this latter file plays back correctly and without problem in QT 7 with the Apple QT MPEG-2 playback component installed. (For the moment I assume the new support capabilities, as well as, the latest audio problems here may be associated with the system audio upgrades begun in Lion and completed in Moutain Lion.)
When you google this question, al the answers make me download some converter (VLC, etc.)
QT is in the process of being totally re-written. Unfortunately, the addition of new capabilities comes at the expense of making the "new" QT structure less and less compatible with legacy compression formats and file containers and likely signals the eventual end of QT 7 and its "Pro" capabilities in favor of higher definition, more efficient compression technologies.

    Hi All ,
I have done the installation of the ffmpeg for trans-coding video, changed the environment variable .
i have also test the video in the First profile "Firefox HQ ogg" it is successfully transcoding and running successfully in FF through http://localhost:4502/etc/dam/video/hq.html but when i drag and drop the video in the video component provided in sidekick.it is not even buffering.I have also checked the design mode and set the profile to "Firefox HQ ogg". but no luck
    any body have any idea???

  • Video component and mov's

I am trying to insert a looping movie into flash using the video component. All seems fine i get the video in with no problems and used actionscript to loop the file but when i publish the file it seems to play it like it is on fast forward and occasionally plays it at the correct speed before doing its own thing again!
Does anyone know if it doesnt like mov files? I have compressed in h.264 and jpeg 2000 to no avail! I am new to this flash and video so maybe i am doing something wrong? I need the video file to be very small (under 100kb for an advert). the original file is 700kb, I used QT pro to reduce it to 88kb and it plays fine until i throw it in flash. I also tried it in flv and avi format using adobe encoder but it whacks the file up to 700kb again!
Any ideas? Help asap would be good with ad deadline today!
    Thanks in advance

    Hello JASCHI,
iPhoto doesn't really have the means to get movies into an iTunes format. iMovie 8, on the other hand, does have this ability.
If you can open the movie file in iMovie, from the Share Menu, you can send an iPhone ready copy directly to iTunes. You can find more information on the iMovie support page:
    http://www.apple.com/support/imovie/
    Good luck,

  • Video Component in 5.5

    Hi -
I am trying to use the OOTB Video component in 5.5. I have installed ffmpeg. I am overriding the arguments to it by using the custom arguments only in the etc/dam/video/hq.html. This is what I have in custom arguments --b:v 64k -threads 2
When I upload a test video to hq.html and run the transcoding, i get no errors. When I add that video to DAM, it also transcodes properly (atleast it throws no errors) and I see ogg,flv and the thumbnail created. However, when I drag that video into a video component on a page, it drops ok, but does not play at all. Is there a problem with the transcoding (even though I get no errors)? The documentation does not specigy which version of ffmpeg to install, so i have installed the latest. I have also tested with mp4 and a .mov file and get the same result. Is there something wrong with the codecs I am using? What codecs should I be using? Thank you for your time.

I noticed that you did not mention the h.264 (m4v or mp4) rendition (from the High Quality H.264 profile) being generated. Might be an issue with ffmpeg for just this encoding - but you should see that in the error log. You'll need this profile rendition for Safari and Chrome (and for the hq Flash fallback for older browsers).
Otherwise: did you define the profiles to be used for the video component in the design dialog of the video component? The ootb geometrixx design uses "High quality h.264" and "Firefox HQ ogg".

  • Apple Video Component Cable only for audio

I want to buy an Apple Video Component Cable to use it with an iPhone 3GS and also with an iPod 5G.
The cable will be connected to the TV and to the audio receiver.
I know that this cable is not compatible with the iPod 5G, but in this case I only want to use it to listen to music. Therefore, only audio with iPod 5G, audio/video with iPhone 3GS.
Does anyone know if using this cable, despite the fact that video won't work on iPod 5G, audio will work fine on iPod 5G?
I'd like to know that before I buy it.
    Thanks!
    Andrés

    I'll answer my self.
Yes, it does play music on the iPod 5th gen.

  • Video with Synched Slides used as a Video Component ?

I would like to take an existing Synched video and slide show
.fla file and convert it to a FLV file for insertion onto a page
with multiple videos. I was willing to try and convert to QT format
and then convert to FLV and drop the video component on the page,
however CS3 reqiuries you to output in flash 5 format for QT
conversion....... CS3 wont let you convert synched slides and video
below flash 6. Hope this makes sense to somebody.... I suppose
there is a much better way to handle what I am trying to do.... Any
help would be most appreciated ....

It seems like your trying to composite......Did you try after
    effects?
I think you can do this easily in after effects.

  • Why can't I File-export-render video into a mpeg 4 rendering into a small .mov file format in cs6?

I create short videos using the PS frame animation panel. I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page.  If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. • AVI files delete video component

Hi... New problem. Pretty significant as it brings my current project to a stand still. I capture video files of my screen with "Debut". It is a trial version but I don't think that has anything to do with it. I get great video clips from it, one of which is attached. They are AVI files. When I import to Elements there is no video component, just the audio. It makes them an audio file in Elements.... Hmmm....

Please check out the following for the VLC Media Player download
    http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
A while back I looked at one of its version for conversion and was ready to throw it out the door. Hopefully the latest version will be helpful.
So, we will be watching for your progress to guide us.
The VLC player is a favorite for video playback of all kinds. Conversion part????
    You wrote
[I downloaded the 'convertavitomp4' program and it worked. I have the video in the timeline, slightly blurry of course. Do you think chaging the wrapper would produce better quality or not?]
At this point, not sure what that conversion program is, but check your project preset choice and make sure that you render the Timeline by pressing the Enter Key of the computer main keyboard to get the best possible view of the Timeline content...you could also just press the Render button above the Timeline. But if you have no colored line or a green line over the Timeline content, no rendering of the Timeline is possible. The rendering is to get the best possible preview of the Timeline AND non colored line or green line over the content means you already have the best possible preview.
    More later.
