Preview: Preview Next or Previous Image w/o 1st selecting multiple images?

I have a folder that contains images. I browse to that folder and click on any of them and Preview opens and I see the image just fine. I would like to browse the contents of this folder with Preview using the arrow keys to view the next or previous image in that folder. When I use the arrow keys I get nothing (just a boink sound). Should I be able to navigate the contents of a folder with Preview using the arrow keys? I have read through the help and didn't see anything not being able to navigate images.
I edited my preview toolbar to include the Next and Previous buttons however these don't seem to work for images in the same folder.
I click on drawer and it only shows the image that I clicked on that opened Preview; it does not show any of the other images that are within the folder...should it?
If I select all (or more than one) image within the folder and then Click Open, Preview opens with the drawer containing the selected images. When I take this extra step, I am able to navigate the selected images in Preview with the up/down arrow keys or the Next/Prev buttons on the toolbar. Is there a way to bypass the multiple selection of images in order to navigate them with Preview or is that just the way it works?

I suspect you may be "putting the cart before the horse." Try opening Preview first. Next, use the Open command from Preview's File menu, or Command + O on your keyboard, and then browse to the desired folder. Select the entire folder and press the Open button. If the Drawer opens and you find it obtrusive, close the Drawer.
You should now find the Next and Previous arrow buttons you added to the Toolbar earlier should function; and if you have Full Keyboard Access enabled, you should be able to navigate the folder using the keyboard as well: Command + Right arrow for the next image, or Command + Left arrow for the previous...

Aperture 3.4.1 automatically switches to the next or previous image

For the past few weeks Aperture has been doing something really odd and extremely annoying. While I'm editing an image, aperture will suddenly move to the next image. It happens primarily when I'm using the stamp tool and am stamping adjustments onto the image. I lift adjustments from one and as I go to stamp the selected image, aperture suddenly moves to the next or previous image. Sometimes I will have go back to the image I am intending to edit as many as 5 times before it stays there.
This is incredibly annoying and killing my workflow. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, what can I do? Suggestions and/or more questions welcome.

Nah, "Highlight Priority Mode" was switched off.

Go figure. It's just random and did I mentioned that I am deeply frustrated with an otherwise excellent program? :-)
If this is bound to happen with our pictures, how can we reliably work with this? I have paying clients who come back to me months and years after and need to have access to their stock of photos.

My MBP didn't recognise my password, started it in safe mode, I can see my files, but I don't know what to do next, as the image of reset password isn't selectable. I just moved from PC. Need help please...

Safe mode is not what you want in this case. Reboot to recovery mode - hold down cmd-R as the Mac reboots. Go past the language-selection screen, click the Utilities menu, then Terminal. Type:
resetpassword
Followed by the return key, and follow the prompts. Reboot normally when done.

I resize my window image so everything is correct portion but as soon as I change window to next page the image goes back to small size. How can I stop this occuring. This happens when go on facebook or any other area. Help me please.

size of the general image that I see reduces toby about a third - I resize it by pressing Ctrl key and using my mouse scroll button to expand the whole image so that it fill the screen. As soon as I go to the next page the whole image reverts back to original size and I have to repeat the action again.

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.

OCR txt on top of image

I received some PDF's that have the OCR txt on top of the original scan. In the case of some handwritten notes it makes them unreadable. I know that in a normal OCR, the image stays on top and the OCR txt goes behind it.
How did this happen? and better yet, how do I switch it back?
For the record, I have never seen this happen.

To remove the OCR output associated with a PDF -
(n.b., Not applicable for OCR output of Formated Text & Graphics (Acrobat 8) or ClearScan (Acrobat 9 & X)
With Acrobat 8 or 9 Pro; use Examine Document. The OCR from Searchable Image or Searchable Image (Exact) is identified as Hidden Text.
The Examine Document dialog has a "button" to click for removing examination detected.
With Acrobat X (Pro); use Tools > Protection > Remove Hidden Information.

Small horizontal lines next to some images?

Sometimes some pics after being imported, have short horizontal lines next to keywords before I do anything with the photos. Is Lightroom somehow suggesting keywords that I should apply to these images?

If so, check if a sub-keyword is already assigned - perhaps you added them in another program.

Placing Linked vs. Embedded Images in Photoshop

Hi,
What is the difference between placing images that are linked vs embedded in Photoshop? Is it the same as in Illustrator?
They act the opposite of what I would think. Embedded ones act like Smart Objects, where if you double click on them they take you to the original (which I would think would be linked), whereas Linked ones are flattened and don't do anything if you double click on them (what I would think would be the case if they were embedded).
If I'm using linked images in a file that I want to have printed, will I have to provide the links to the printer like a packaged file in InDesign?

As far as Printers go, I always thought they preferred flat files, but I think it's always wise to consult them as to their requirements.

I have a lightbox that was working fine. It works fine when I
view it on my machine, but as soon as I upload it, the images for
the next and previous button don't show anymore. Why could this be?
Seems like the paths are right, since it works locally(they are
relative).
Any ideas what I could look at? Kind of at a loss.

How do I stop Apple Script from leaving a Text.txt file with each image downloaded using Photo Downloader in Adobe Photoshop CS4_Bridge???

I use Adobe Photoshop CS4_Bridge _Photo Downloader to import images from CF Cards into my 11" Mac Book Air. I have an issue with the Text files
that seem to accompany each and every image that I do not need. How do I stop Apple Script (which I assume is the culprit in this case) from interferring with this process.

Your iWeb Site is stored not on your iDisk, but on a file named Domain.sites in your ~/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ Folder.
If , for whatever reason, you wipe your HD and/or lose this file (Get a new computer, Re-Install your OS, Stolen Laptop, Crashed HD, Etc.) without backing-up your Domain.sites file then you will have to re-build your iWeb sites from scratch again.
Of course you can edit your Published HTML files in a different program such as Dreamweaver or even Text Edit. You just can't edit Published HTML files in iWeb. Not at this time at least.
Use iWebBackup to backup your Domain file to a Blank CD or DVD. Backing up your Domain file to another folder on your computer is not fully backing it up. If your computer gets stolen you still lost the file but if you have your Domain file burned onto a CD you have a backup!

HT3717 How do I remove a bullet that is appearing next to an image? Is this a bug?

I am using Keynote 6.1 and I am getting a bullet point to the left of my images. It only appears in presentation mode, not edit.
With the new formatting tools, there is no "bullet" option if you are on an image, which suggests that it is a bug. However, if there is a clever workaround, I would love to see it.

Placing a mask over another image

Hello,
I am trying to create this image from scratch. I have a transparent eagle and a flag.
I end up with something like the above but the flag overpowers the features of the eagle.
So from start ot finish what are the steps assuming that both the eagle and the flag
are already inside a Fireworks CS6 document.

1) add a layer mask to the flag layer, and paint in some black/grey with a smooth brush to control the affected areas of the flag better
2) set the layer mode to overlay or soft light. Adjust transparency as required.

Help producing text and image next to each other in output.

I've been trying to produce a PDF and HTML version of a Highlights for Users section using FM and RH in TCS3. All of our documentation is produced in Framemaker and RH is used to produce the WebHelp output. What I would like to have is text left-justified next to an image, separated by a company-coloured line for each highlight, then same again for each highlight.
I have tried importing images into FM which are right-justified and run into paragraph, and I could probably fiddle this just for the PDF using carriage returns but I cannot get a decent RH WebHelp output.
I/m completely inexperienced in trying to produce fancier type of output and until now have only ever had to import screenshots with figure caption with text before and after. If the above is badly explained this is what I would like to see in both PDF and WedHelp

I'll try that. Would I then have to have an image restricted to the size of the Table? At the moment I restrict
the image size in PDF to the width of the page, but allow full-size images in the WebHelp output. I like this
scenario as I think that more people use the html, but from user surveys PDFs are needed for printing out.

Need to insert text next to image in popup.

It works great, but now I am messing with it.
I have managed to get the images, or at least the first one, to open in a popup, great. Trouble is I want to be able to have text next to the image in the popup window. I tried <title> to see if I could do it with a tooltip, which would have been crap, but didn't work anyway. I can't think where to put the text, and how? <h1> didn't work either, it flashed up before the imagewall opened.
Here is the popup code:

I think I should use a caption of some sort but lord knows how. I think I could make a second image with the text included next to it as a the popup, but this is for a dress hire shop and that would involve photoshopping the second image every time a change was made. I want the text to be editable just in a text editor.

The problem is that you are opening a .jpg image in the popup.

While that does work... all you get is an image.
A better way to do the popup window is to create a new, small HTML Web page that contains your image as well as any text or other content you want. Because it's just a regular HTML page, you can style the text and page layout (including links) with CSS, just as you would any other Web page.
so then you href would look something like this:

Scroll to very bottom of page and see multiple popups, each being a small HTML Web page simply displayed in a popup window rather than a new tab. View the source code if you need further info. I'm using a slightly different method to open the popup, but the idea is, use an HTML page rather than just an image.
