    Hi All
We are using KMAT material type for configurable materials.
    Product cost planning:
My question is , Can we save cost estimate for the Kmat materials?
( I am assuming I dont have to run CK40N for these materails , As I am not going to have accounting tab for Kmat materails. and I do not know which materails and operations to use in super Bom and Super routing)

  • CSKA & CSKB Tables -Cost Element+ Controlling Area, Cost Element Category

I have few questions on Chart Of Accounts and Controlling Areas and CSKA(Cost elements (data dependent on chart of accounts)) and CSKB (Cost elements (data dependent on controlling area)) Tables--
    1) One Chart Of Accounts has one or more Controlling Areas. Is there any situation where One Controlling Area contains many Chart Of Accounts.
    2) CSKA Table contains all the Cost Elements under the Chart Of Accounts. So does all these Cost Elements appear under CSKB Table. Are there any Cost Elements which doesn't fall under any of the Controlling Area and only exists under Chart Of Accounts Level in CSKA Table.
    3) In CSKB Table How do we know the corresponding Chart Of Accounts for the Cost Element.
    4) In CSKB Table Cost Element Category depends on both Cost Element and Controlling Area. So does a Cost Element can be Primary Cost Element for one Controlling Area which happens to be GL Account and Secondary Cost Element for some controlling Areas.
    5) Are there any Company Codes under the Chart Of Accounts which doesn't belong to any of the Controlling Area and doesn't have any Cost Elements.

    Hi,
    1) One Chart Of Accounts has one or more Controlling Areas. Is there any situation where One Controlling Area contains many Chart Of Accounts. Never
One controlling area can be assigned to many company codes, but all must have been assigned to the same chart of accounts only. This is the pre requisite for the so called cross company controlling
If some data exists in CSKA table, it mean that, it must have been created as a CE in any of the controlling area
    3) In CSKB Table How do we know the corresponding Chart Of Accounts for the Cost Element.
In CSKB, you wont get the correspondant COA for the given controlling area. If you want to know it pass field value CSKB-KOKRS to table field TKA01-KTOPL to get the assigned COA
    4) In CSKB Table Cost Element Category depends on both Cost Element and Controlling Area. So does a Cost Element can be Primary Cost Element for one Controlling Area which happens to be GL Account and Secondary Cost Element for some controlling Areas.
You cannot create a secondary cost elemant using a key matching with an GL code in cross company controlling. In case of both company codes assigned to different controlling areas this can be possible
    5) Are there any Company Codes under the Chart Of Accounts which doesn't belong to any of the Controlling Area and doesn't have any Cost Elements.
Only In case of CO module is not active for the a company code
Note: If you have more queries, post it separately rather than asking all in one thread. and be specific with your requirement with the actual scenario.
    Thanks,

  • Compounding Controlling areas and Cost Centers

    Hi,
We have only one Controlling area value, say ZC11. I am looking at an InfoObject Master Data table for an InfoObject, and it seems that there are no differences in the records with the Controlling area and Cost Centers with those of blank Controlling areas and Cost Centers.
Is it necesary to define the compounded InfoObject of the Controlling Area to the Cost Centers in this case? I understand that compounding is for use if there are many different Controlling Areas for the same Cost Centers.
What would be the best approach on this?
    Thanks,
    RT

    Hi Bhanu,
May I ask what would be the core change of the SAP InfoObject? I would think that modeling wise, it would be beneficial to not compound if there was just one Controlling area.
I am actually uploading data and I am getting an error that lists the error "value Cost Center/Controlling Area/ Company code is not permitted for characteristics Company Code". I am sending only the value Cost Center but somehow it is looking for the Controlling Area. Should I be sending both the Controlling area and its correspdoning Cost Center?
    Thanks,
    RT

  • The target costs in target cost version 0 are missing

    Dear Experts,
I am getting following error while running Varience cost through KKS2:
Only remaining var. in version 0 - no target costs for 000001061683 0001
    Message no. KV151
    Diagnosis
For the calculation of variances with 000001061683 0001, the target costs in target cost version 0 are missing for the following reasons:
There were no planned costs and/or planned quantities (see earlier message).
The quantities on which the planned costs were based are zero in the time period concerned. This may be caused by the fact that no goods receipt for a cost object (such as a product cost collector or production order) has been entered.
This results in target costs of zero.
    System response
Because no target costs were calculated, the difference between the
planned and actual costs could not be broken down into variance categories. The difference is updated as a remaining variance.
    Please suggest, How to proceed.
    Regards

    First check this...
1.Go to t.code OKEV.Select Controlling Area 2222 and create Plan / Target version.
The standard system supplies the following target cost versions:
Target cost version 0 ( total variance)
The amount of the total variance generates a posting in Financial Accounting during settlement.
For this version, select actual costs as the control costs and standard cost estimate as the target costs.
Target cost version 1 ( production variance)
For this version you choose actual costs as the control costs and planned costs as the target costs.
Target cost version 2( planning variance)
With target cost version 2, the costs from the preliminary order cost estimate are interpreted as control costs. For this version, select planned costs as the control costs and current cost estimate as the target costs. You cannot calculate planning variances for the product cost collector.
Target cost version 3 (production variance of the period)
You compare the planned costs of the period calculated on the basis of an alternative material cost estimate (such as a modified standard cost estimate) with the actual costs of the period on the basis of the yield delivered to stock in the period.
    2.Also try In CO02 goto cunctions...cost...
3.Go to transaction OKV6 these settings control what values are used to update the target costs.
Target cost comes from the standard price calculated when doing a costing run. Actual costs are costs that you incur during the production order (we can reassign costs during the order so this could be different from the standard price).
Target Costs=Actual Quantitiy X the Standard Cost Estimate Price..
Probably the stand.cost estimate will be missing in ur case...

  • Planned Cost - Reporting

I'm using the BC Cube 0CCA_C11 to build a basic budget report. I've built a query that gives me most of the things I needs. I filter by controlling area, cost centre, fiscal period and financial year and version. In my report I have Planned Costs. These are for the whole financial year. How do I build something in the query that shows just the planned costs for the period I have run the report for e.g. if the budget for a cost element is £100 per annum I want the report to show £50 if I run it for periods 1 to 6. Bearing in mind that it isn't always a 1 to 12 split and the budget profile impacts upon the distribution of the budget through the year.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Joel

    There are three currency types

  • CJI3 Report - Balance in Controlling Area currency after settlement

    Hi Friends,
When I run CJI3 report for one of my projects, the system displays the actual costs in Controlling Area Currency and Object Currency. Controlling Area currency is USD and Object Currency is EUR. After settlement, for one of the cost elements, the CJI3 report shows 0 EUR actual costs balance under Object Currency and displays 19.5  USD actual costs balance under Controlling Area currency. This seems to be coming from PM05 order and the the posting dates are different.
Why there is balance shown in Controlling Area currency (USD) (may be due to exchange rate difference according to me..)?
How this issue can be resolved so that I can go ahead to close the project?
One more thing related to the same issue, when I run CN41 (Structure Overview0 report), it shows a difference actual costs balance (3201USD)? Why is it different from CJI3 report? Which report is correct?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Balakrishnan

you need to check two things -
are you settling the PM05 order to WBS before settling the WBS itself
    or
there seems to be another account to make provision for exchange rate fluctuation - check that out

  • Exclude Planned Costs - Define Tolerance Limit - Budget Control

    Hi,
We are trying to customize our system in order to exclude the planned costs of the project of the budget availability control.
Example: If once I have budgeted and released the project I add a component to the project I do not want to any error message to appear. Error should only appear once I generated the Purchase Requisition for an amount superior to the WBSE budget.
We have been trying with the customizing point "Define Tolerance Limit", trying with different combination of the Activities Groups but we haven't succeed.
Has anybody tried this before? Could anybody give me a hint?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
The moment you save the project (after making changes to your project, say, adding new component), system will check against the budget (since AVAC is already active).
We are trying to customize our system in order to exclude the planned costs of the project of the budget availability control.
We have been trying with the customizing point "Define Tolerance Limit", trying with different combination of the Activities Groups but we haven't succeed.
    This is not possible.
As an alternative, what you can do it, before adding the new component to the project activity, you need to update your budget (suppliment) with the expected cost of the componet you are adding. This way, you can avoid this error.

  • How are non-cost center Controlling objects best modeled in PCM?

I appreciate that ALG developed Profitability and Cost Management, and they apparently were unaware of
or did not consider that SAP ERP uses more than a single controlling object of a cost center; specifically
internal order, WBS element, real estate object, etc.
My question is how are these other controlling objects best treated in PCM?
    For example,
I have a planned trade show internal order to showcase my companies products
in Berlin to European retailers.  I have planned travel costs, display costs,
space rental costs on this internal order.
Normally, I would settle this internal order to CO-PA to determine the planned
profitability of my Europen retail customers.  Unless I make this order a faux cost center,
I don't see how to model it in PCM.
If I exclude this order, then the profitability resulting in PCM is suspect --
leaving out a major chunk of customer specific marketing expense.
Or is the process to settle the planned internal order cost to CO-PA, but
transfer the planned costs from PCM back into CO-PA, which would have the
benefit of being mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive.
Jeff Holdeman hinted at the restrictions imposed by planning in ECC.  Yet
without a more comprehensive approach, I am concerned that PCM still
does not represent a complete profitability planning solution.
    Bob McGaffic

    Hi Deepak.
You can verify is the cost center was posted on document running tcode SE16N on the FALGFLEXA table, put the document number to do research.
After you can trying to post the new document through Tcode FB50L choosing or not a legder specific, then verify the document was posted correctly running the Tcodes SKb1 or Se16N with FAGLFLEXA table again.
Also you can check this link Checking the Allocation of General Ledgers to Cost Centres

  • Planned cost/target cost/control cost

    Dear Expets,
Ps guide me on the below.
Difference between - planned cost/target cost/control cost and Plan qty/target qty/control qty in MTS or MTO.
your response will be highly appreciated.
    regards
    Raman Rana
Moderator: Please, avoid asking basic questions

    Dear Raman,
    planned costs:
The costs anticipated for a particular undertaking (such as an order).
    Target costs:
The costs expected to be incurred when a specific quantity is produced.
In Cost Object Controlling, the target costs are calculated on the basis of the planned values of a service unit (such as the planned cost of a production order) and the control quantities (such as the yield delivered to stock).
Target costs can be used for purposes such as:
    u2022     To determine variances
u2022     To valuate work in process
    u2022     To valuate unplanned scrap
    Control costs:
The costs that are compared against the target costs when the variances are calculated.
In Overhead Cost Controlling (CO-OM), the control costs are always the actual costs.
In Cost Object Controlling (CO-PC-OBJ), the control costs are either the actual costs less the work in process and scrap or the cost calculated in the preliminary cost estimate for the order, depending on the target cost version.

  • Uploading capital planning/cost control/project delivery mgmt modules in Primavera Unifier 9.12

    Hello All,
I have successfully installed Primavera Unifier R9.12 on my system. I had searched a lot but I didnt find any document which tells you how to upload capital planning/cost control/project delivery management module in Primavera Unifier R9.12. Can anyone pls share the steps or document.
    Thanks
    AKHIL

    HI Akhil,
I'd love to help you in this area but i only know the product from a tech/install side of things.
My functional colleagues had the exact same gripe that you have regarding sample data - unfortunately with the way Unifier is designed in regards to it being both customizable and difficult to delete/change some objects it doesn't quite lend itself to having sample data the way P6 does.
    Good luck playing/learning the tool

  • Difference between COPC planning and cost object controlling

I want to know why do we have to calculate the cost of a manufactured product by both COPC planning and Cost object controlling by order?
Will the cost of a manufactured product be different in COPC planning method and cost object controlling method?
if we use only cost object controlling to calculaute the cost of a manufactured product without using COPC planning wht will be the implications?

    Raja,
Yes the cost can be different. The cost calculating thorught Product Cost Planning may be static, you calculate it by period it is more for planning prupose ans to set standard. The cost calculated through Cost Object Controlling is resulting from your actual transactions, and the are few variables that could increase or decrease the cost of product. For example the overhead cost (Increase of salaries) can directly affect your activity rate at the work center and impact cost of your product when the production order is complete. You need both costs (Cost Planning and Cost Object releated) so at the end of the period you can calculate variance betweeen your plan cost and your actual costs.
    Hope this clarifies your doubts.

  • Copy a group of cost centers from one controlling area to another

    Hello,
is it possible to copy a group of cost centers from one controlling area to another?
Or a group of internal orders?
    Thanks
    Jasmina

No. If you used any upload tools like LSMW, perhaps you may use that for uploading the second controlling area.

  • Cost of Sales activation in Controlling area

    Hi Friends,
Please let me know the IMG activity where we can check if 'Cost of sales accounting' is active in a controlling area or not.
    Please help me navigate.
    Thanks & regards,
    Shilpi

    Hi,
It's more accurate to say whether it's active for company code.
IMG - Financial Accounting - Financial Accounting Global Settings - Company Code - Cost of Sales Accounting - Activate Cost of Sales Accounting.

  • Deactivate Cost center accounting in controlling area

    Hi all,
Could you describe the consequences of the deactivation of CO-CCA in the controlling area?: should I expect incoherencies ?
The activation (deactivation) code setting is free in OKKP transaction. My first deactivation test show me it's possible to make new postings in FI (FB60) and the cost center is not necessary anymore.
In fact in my case I don't need to check FI-CO reconciliation.
    Regards
    Pascal Cuenin

    Hello
Why this type of requirement is coming into our mind. SAP controlling has very good funtionalities for internal reporting. If you deactivate cost center accounting then how your management would see...cost center reporting, budgeting, controlling
for example you have cost element salary,,,,,with one gl for a company,,,how you will distinguish salary with reference to a division , dept, location....
how you will get your assessment, settlement, costing all these for which CO functionalities are developed
