Planned Order convert to PR

Hi
When I do conversion of planned order to PR, the defaulted PR type is NB, but I would like to change it to ZNB (customised), now I need to change it manually during the PR screen, how can I defaulted the PR type to ZNB. I look at the IMG, in the planned order conversion to PR, the NB there is for planned order not for PR, I cannot find the relationship of the planned order type to PR type..look at PR IMG, cannot find anything as well..
anyone done this before please share, this should be something common as of many company do change the standard PR type of NB to ZNB..

Hi,
The system determines the document type from the stettings u are making in "planned order Profile" in Customising for MRP. There u define the order type, the procurement key and the special procurement key and also the account assignment category. So based on the procurement key and the special procurement key maintained in the Marterial master, the document type is selected.
Production > Materials Requirement Planning > Procurement Proposals > Planned Order > Define order profile
Choose the planned order type - NB1 Within this you specify the P req doc type to be used.
Through MRP group and the different PR document type for MRP generated PR is possible only if you assign the document type to MRP group in the MRP configuration.
You need to perform some modifications in as per OSS Note : 46919 .

Hi Sandeep,
From SAP 4.6C version onwards SAP support partial conversion of a Planned Order into Purchase reqt / production Order and the balance will be available with the same Planned Order number itself.
Later you have the option of converting teh balance planned order qty to either Production order / Pur reqt.
So I can say if your current SAP version is more than or equal to 4.6C then you can convert the partial planned order to Pur reqt now and later the balancce qty to either Pur Reqt itself OR Production Order.

how can i convert planned order directly to purchase order and avoid converting it to purchase requisition? what is the steps can to make it from IMG?

Abobakr,
Requirement can't be met.
But you can think of creation of purchase requisition inplace of planned order & convert this purchase requisition to purchase order.
You can achieve this by maintaining 'Create purchase requisition' as 1 or enetering the item category against the component in the FG BOM as N i.e non stock item.

Convert Planned orders in single shot with a Single PR

Hi,
Is it possible to convert the multiple planned orders into a single Purchase Requsition with in a single transaction.
                      Existing SAP :- MD 16 >Select Planned Order>Convert to PR of a single Planned Order
I am looking for the same like above for multiple planned orders.
                       My Requirement :-
                                  a) Materials from 001 to 030 under one MRP Controller.
                                  b) Planned Orders 001 to 030 for the above materials
                                  c) Want to Raise a single PR for 30 planned Orders of 30 Materials.
So please Let me know the solution/Suggestion/If it is not a best practice.

Define those components for collective processing. You need to define "2" - for Field Indv/Coll in MRP4 view of those material master and you can have daily/weekly/monthly lotsize defined for those items.

Determination of Production Order Type when Planned Order is Converted

Hi SAP Expert,
Is there anyway to determine the Production Order type by Sales Order type when the planned order from APO is converted? Currently, all the planned orders converted from APO will be a Normal Production Order.
The requirement as example below:
>> If Sales Order Type = Normal Sales Order, then the converted Production Order type = Normal Production Order
>> If Sales Order Type = Replacement Sales Order, then the converted Production Order type = Rework Production Order

The Business process is Planned Order - Converted to Purchase Requsition - Converted to purchase order .
Is there any report in SAP , which shhows the direct link between Planned order to Purchase Order ?

Collective Conversion in the Background
As of release 4.0, you can also convert planned orders into purchase requisitions in the background.
This is particularly useful if you use the creation indicator (2) Purchase requisitions in opening period in the planning run. The system creates purchase requisitions in the opening period but outside the opening period, the system creates planned orders. The planned orders must be converted into purchase requisitions in time so that purchasing receives the purchase requisitions in time. To ensure that this occurs you can use conversion in background.
To do this proceed as follows:
To access the screen, Convert Planned Orders into Pur. Reqs in Background, choose Planned order ® Convert -> pur. req. ® In background from the MRP screen.
The screen, Convert Planned Orders into Pur. Reqs in Background: Variations, appears.
Choose Create variant and create a variant.
In the variant, you define the plant, MRP controller and until which opening date conversion is to occur.
Complete the necessary attributes for the variant.
Choose Schedule job. Set whether scheduling is to be carried out once or periodically and enter the dates.
Scheduling once means the scheduling is carried out once on a certain date.
Periodic scheduling means the scheduling is carried out regularly on set dates.
The system automatically converts planned orders into purchase requisitions on the set dates.

Locating Planned order from a purchase requisition

A purchase requisition has been created manually , by converting a planned order . Is it possible to find out the planned order , from a purchase requisition Pls advise.

Once planned order converted in to Production order or Purchase requisition, we can't see any details of the planned order.Planned orders are stored dynamically in tables.once it is coverted,Details can not be seen even in PLAF-Plan order table.
In production order, you can see the planned order number but for PR , it is difficult to get the reference Plan order number.

The client owns the technology and has contractors manufacture the product.
A planned order is generated by the client and based on the type of contractor, some of them are converted to Purchase orders and others to Purchase requisitions.
Is this possible? I was thinking, planned orders ans purchase requisitions are completely different entities. Planned orders are for internal manufacturing which are subsequently changed to Production orders and purchase requisitions are for external procurement that would be converted to Purchase orders.
But converting the Planned orders to Purchase Requisitions and orders is what I could not digest.
Is there any possibility of this case?

Also include purchasing view for this material.
When you run mrp using md02, a planned order will be created for the rquirement (Eg:say 100 nos given using t.code md61).
Use t.code md04 to view the stock/requirement list.
Here double click the planned order, you can see tabs such as convert into purchase requisition, into production order, into process order.
Click convert into pur req & enter 50 Nos. Then a pur req will be created which can be further converted into pur order.
Again come to md04 screen.
You can see a planned order & pur req for 50 nos.
This planned order can be converted into production order & 50 nos can be produced internally.

How to trace planned order data after it has been converted into production

However, I need to trace if this planned order is generated by MRP
run or created manually. I can't get any planned order info from

Hi,
Once fully converted, the Planned Order data will not be available in the Table : PLAF.
If it is available, then You can have the details with the Time Stamp and User data from PLAF.
But, the refrence will be available in the Production Order.
You want to make a Track of the Planned Order details and the Quanity, then you need to have/create Z tables so that the data will be availabe.
This is how most of the Organizations keep a track of the Planned order data.

Convert Sale order to Planned order in PPDS

I have nearly 400 Open sale orders to be uploaded in R/3 with some 6000-7000 line items,which needs to be converted to Planned order and subsequently to Production order in APO-PPDS .
I tried using tcode RRP3 at all stages(Multi Level ), which is manual and time taking job.Is there any way to automate RRP3??
I also tried via RRP2 by Sale order which is again a manual job.
Can anybody suggest the correct method with FM/BAPI sequence.I also tried CDPSB0 and then RRP7, BUT because there is no field for quantity, the planned orders are created based on PDS, which does not match my requirement.

Sales orders are not 'converted' to planned or production orders. Sales orders are demand, planned orders are supply. They are different objects with different purposes.
You mention that your PDS is not suitable. Creating large numbers of orders using non-PDS compliant master data can cause future consistency problems for these orders.
Exactly what do you wish to do, that cannot be done with the standard tools /SAPAPO/CDPS80 and /SAPAPO/RRP7?

Planned orders are not converted into process orders in ECC.

Dear All,
The issue is that Planned orders with conversion tick are not publishing in ECC as manufacturing orders. We did check the relevant master data consistency between APO and ECC and it seems fine.
We have tried to send the conversion from APO to ECC,all the orders stuck in the R1P inbound queue with error - Order no. XXXX does not exist
Message no. C/006.
Based on above message and error we found SAP Note 515740 - Inconsistencies in table CIFORDMAP for this issue.
Used the transaction SE38 and created RCFORDCH report and 'Checking inconsistencies in table CIFORDMAP'
Here it shows order series stuck in queues no longer exists.
But not sure how to reconcile the inconsistency in the CIFORDMAP table.
Would appreciate your advice.

Hi Sajit Singh,
Could you take some sample items struck for order conversion and check
whether active PPDS & SNP PPMs available.
In some cases, conversion will be affected for want of PPMs. If it is the
case with you, try generating the PPM first for that sample item and retry
converting the orders.
Could you please check and confirm this.

Error while converting planned order to production order for config materia

Hi experts,
While converting a planned order to production order for a configurable material.I am getting the following error meassage. Message No.CO684,
"You cannot make an assignment to make-to-order stock"
( DiagnosisThe component cannot be allocated to an individual stock because make-to-order production and engineer-to-order production cannot be executed with this order.
A possible cause is that you are trying to create an order with reference to a sales-order/project, where an account assignment to a sales order/project is not allowed in the settlement profile that is assigned to the chosen order type. This is inconsistant.
System ResponseThe following responses are possible:
Order processing is cancelled.
The system resets the special stock indicator back to the original value.
Procedure
Choose another order type).
I have checked some of the threads related to this error. But no where there is any solution.Please tell me if there is any settings to make so as to work on this scenario.

Hi,
This will be a MTO scenario. Please check your requirement type,Requirement class and strategy type config along with your Item category and schedule line category from SD.
Also check your Production order type config and settlement profiles.
I mean to say that you need new production order type to be configured for specific above mentioned combination.
Are you working on a production system..?? is it the first time you are creating the order for this config material..??

Unable to convert SNP planned order to PP/DS planned order in RRP3

Hi,
This is an in-house production scenario. SNP planned order are created based on forecast, now i want to convert those SNP planned orders to PP/DS planned orders in product view. While converting i am getting the following error message.
Conversion canceled with error
Message no. /SAPAPO/RRP707
I have checked the SNP, PP/DS PDS, it looks good.

Conversion SNP -> PP/DS SAP002 is scheduling heuristic
Heuristic for Conversion SNP->PP/DS as SAP_SNP_SNGL used for order conversion.
