Planned Order to STR Conversion - incorrect Valuation Price

Hi Experts
Not sure if you've encountered this before:-
Material A in Requesting Plant has Valuation Price of USD10.
Material A in Supplying Plant has Valuation Price of USD20.
Material A is planned through MRP in Requesting Plant with Planned Order as the output.
When Planned Order is converted into STR (MD14/MD15), the Valuation Price appearing in the STR picks up USD10 (from Requesting Plant), even though Supplying Plant is correctly defaulted in the STR.
Any idea on the above?
Another observation - for the same STR created, if the Supplying Plant is cleared in Change Mode (ME52N), system will reassign the supplying plant accordingly, and the Supplying Plant (USD20) is now correctly updated into the STR.

the valuation price of a purchase requisition is always copied from material master valuation view of the ordering plant.
there is no difference for requisition that is used for a stock transfer order to a sister plant, compared to a requisition that is used to purchase from an external vendor. It would be very confusing if SAP has a logic break within.
the valuation is used for release strategy.
most requisitions do not know from where they will be fullfilled, source determination is not mandatory in requisition creation process. this is the usual task of purchasing department. Hence the requisition can only know the valuation price of its own plant.

Hi Gurus,
We see planned orders in MD04 for a material. Please explain me how and when the system will convert this planned order to PR. The material is externally procured. please exaplain me about the MRP elements and and their relationship in MD04. I 'm new to MD04. Here is hte eexact scenario. Theere is a planned order out there with date of 11/20/2009 that is actually trying to meet the requirement from a sales order for 11/20/2009. The Order finish date is 11/15/2009. Order start 11/07/2009 Proc. type F Planned opening 10/23/2009 Order type NB, GR ProcTme 5. We are tryin to procure this material via STO from a different plant.
Now please exaplin when will the planned order gett converted to PR. Do we have to automatically convert it? please explain these specifics

In addition to the instructions given to you by Ram,
1. Configure Stock Transport Requisitions OMGR
2. Configure Stock Transport orders OMGN
3. OMI8 ensure that you have defined PR number range, you should also define Item numbers. If you are always going to procure from the same source plant, you probably want to set up a special procurement type. Should be similar to SAP standard '40' but pointing to your specified supply plant.
4. If you are using standard document types, your order profile should be OK. If not, configure in IMG > MatlManagement > Consumption Based Planning > Procurement Proposals > Define order profile.

Planned order to Manufacturing order conversion

Hi Experts,
We are in SCM 5.0 & R/3 ECC 5.0. I have developed one RFC function module in APO, for planned order to manufacturing order conversion, using BDC for transaction /sapapo/rrp2. This rfc function module, iam calling in r/3 program.
The issue is, using this enhancement, if i put the conversion indicator tick in APO, it is not converted into manufacturing order & subsequently not transferred to r/3 via CIF. But, if i do it directly in APO through normal transaction, it is getting converted into manufacturing order & the same is transferred to r/3.
What could be the reason ? Any help is appreciated.

First of all I think there is inconsistency in what you have reported as the problem.
"This rfc function module, iam calling in r/3 program"
"using BDC for transaction /sapapo/rrp2"
Transaction /sapapo/rrp2 is to query Orders in APO and not for setting conversion indicator.
Use transaction /SAPAPO/RRP7 instead for mass conversion.
Also remember just setting the conversion indicator will not suffice. The Planned Order with the Conversion Flag needs to be saved that will trigger CIF transfer.

hI Gurus,
i am Prparing document About Planned orders and their Conversion Methods.... as of My understanding There are 7 different Planned Order types are there
NB - Standard Purchase Order
LA - Stock Order
RS - Reservation
KD - Individual Customer Order
KB - Consignment Order
OE - Run Schedule Quantity
VP - Planned Independent Requirement
so normally LA is generally used Order type. KD is used in MTO scenario, OE in REM manufacturing.
What is the use of VP order type Why it will Generated ?

Regarding VP plannes orders, take a look on the following note:
1595312 - Message "61322 - Planned order XXX may not be changed"
This note provides the following information regardin VP planned orders:
The planned order has the special type VP. Such planned orders are created when Planned Independent Requirement for a planning strategy such as 'Planning without assembly', 'Planning at Phantom Assembly Level' or 'Planning with a Planning Material' is created, for example.
VP planned orders should be listed on a separate segment on the MRP List (MD05) or the Stock / Requirements List (MD04). They are used to trigger the procurement of the components and they are not yet "real". They should be only relevant for production once a sales order for the finished product exists, in case of planning without final assembly, or when the production of the final assembly is executed, in case of planning at phantom assembly.

Hi Sabhapathy R,
The price in the Purchase Requisition is the Valuation Price of the material master.
If you press F1 in the Purchase Requisition on the field Valuation Price at tab Valuation , you will see the SAP documentation:
Price in Purchase Requisition
Shows the price of the requested material per price unit.
Use
The price and quantity set out in the purchase
requisition determine the value of the purchase requisition item or
purchase requisition. In turn, this value is applied in determining the release
strategy for the requisition.
In Customizing for Purchasing under Purchase Requisition ->
Define Screen Layout at Document Level, you can set price and price unit.
The Valuation price field can be set as a mandatory or optional input
field.
Procedure
Input mandatory:
If a material master record exists for the
requested material, the price is automatically taken from the valuation
price field.
This is explained in several threadhs:

The price of the Info Record will be determined when the Purchase Order is created.
If you want price to picks from your Info Record when the PR is created, then check for a user exit or BAdI.

Planned price in material master default in valuation price in PR

I want to default planned price of material master in valuation price of Purchase requisition,
Currently MAP is defaulted in valuation price field in Purchase requisition.
Is this possible by using any user exit?

Yes this is possible .you have to use the BADI ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST and method PROCESS_ITEM if the PR created manuallly or through MRP. Try this User exit also MEREQ001
If the PR created through sales order you could use user exit in sales order program name:SAPMV45A and subroutine : USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_ME_REQ in the include MV45AFZB.

Creation of production order from manual or conversion from Planned Order

i would like to know why does the production finish date differ when we do manual and conversion of planned order into a production order?

When a planned order is created it just uses the Inhouse production time defined to derive the dates, whereas incase of production orders, it would try to schedule the operation and based on that the scheduled dates are derived. The other possibility is the different scheduling types are used for Planned order and Production order. Check transaction OPU5 and OPU3

Hi,
Root cause behind this problem is, no Routing found.
First complete below settings.
- Go to OPJG And create defult Operation creation in case of no Routing found.This setting will generate the default Operation incase of no routing found during Order creation.
- In T.code OPJF Create automatic selection parameters (Selection ID) for Routing.
- In T.Code OPL8 Maintain Selection ID for Routing and also maintain type of Routing selection (3 - Automatic Routing selection)

Overflow during arithmetical operation type P COMPUTE_BCD_OVERFLOW comes when the maximum of the internal ABAP field that is 99,999,999,999.99 many be quantity, cost value UoM conversion etc.
Please check how this UOM (unit of measure) is defined in transaction CUNI. In this transaction, you may have set the Value-based commitment indicator. This indicator controls whether commitments for the chosen unit of measure are recorded on a quantity basis or a value basis.
Please search OSS note for this dump and also raise this to OSS.

Planned order to production order conversion in APO

Hello Rajib,
The following are required -->
1. Active Intergration Model for production orders in R/3 .
2. Distribution definition (T.Code /sapapo/cp1) in APO.
3. Retransfer settings (optional, read the F1 help here,before setting one) (T.code /sapapo/cp3)
Also make right setting for transfer for inhouse production in /sapapo/rrpcust1 in APO.
Then create a planned order and check the "Conversion indicator" in the product view (/sapapo/rrp3). or use transaction /sapapo/rrp7 to convert orders in mass.

Planned order to Purchase Req. Conversion

Hi,
What program is running in background to convert the planned order to PR? Check the criteria specified in this program for this conversion.
If its a custom program, discuss with your abaper on the program logic. If it is a std. program, then let us know the program.
Also go to MD04 & try manually converting the planned order to PR, if system allows the same, then the issue is with the program.
Another option is run MRP with Create PR field with option 2. Once the planned order falls within the planned opening date, system converts the planned order to PR automatically.

Is system convert planned order to purchase requisition automatically or to be converted manually by md14/md15 ?
If system convert it automaticallly what is the setting of the same?

after planning run you need to convert the plasnned order to PR manually.
i fyou want the PR directly- then mainatin the Procurement type as F External procurement
then in MD02 slect the Create purchase req.1Purchase requisitions

Error in Conversion of Planned Orders to AFS production Orders

Dear Mam/Sir,
We are working in AFS Scenario.There are following observations during
AFS BOM/Planned order conversion/Material availabilty as follows:
1) When Item category 'T'(Text Item) is used ,with 'witout fixed qty. indicator'in AFS BOM,then during the MRP Run BOM gets exploded & dependent requirements are created for AFS /non-AFS Components. But, when Bill of Material Tab is accessesd in the Planned Order system throws error'REQUIRED PARAMETER MISSING WHEN CALLIN UP MODULE MARC_SINGLE_READ'.When this planned order is converted to Production order, Order reservation is created only for NON-AFS(std. component).
2) When a Planned order(with all BOM components item category 'L') is converted ,then system gives error in material availability check : Message no.AG022'An error occurred during Remote Function call on the ATP Server'.
3) When for a AFS material BOM components with item category'L' is used an order is created.during material availabilty check system shows missing part. The moment a 'text' item is added in BOM the for the same order system commits all components.Though components are missing.

Hi,
Good to know that your problem is resolved.
But the error you mentioned appears may be because of configuration problems.
You should check what is account assignment category mentioned in the corresponding requirement class for the strategy group you have used in the materials master.
Also you should check the settlement profile that you have used for your order types.
The account assignment category and settlement profile maintained, must be set properly so that allowed transactions are executed.
Also, there is problem with the message itself which appears for many reasons. More particularly when you are in MTO / ETO scenario or using WBS to create orders.This make it difficult to check the correct cause of the problem!!

During conversion of planned order into production order -CO40 i get the message
" 02.08.2013 date comes after end of valid factory calendar. (Please correct)
Message no. 61062 ".
But in routing i maintain the correct dates & also in Planned order.
Pl give solution .

Hi,
Please check what is the factory calender maintained ..what are the working days and also that the work center which u have defined for this material,what is the capacity and is there any other operations might be engaged till 2013..these parameters work center might be overloaded
And also check in material master what is the scedule margin key i.e. Float after production and before production.
In House production time u have mainatained..
Then u have done forward or backward sceduling..
Please check ..hope this is clear..

Field setting when collective conversion from planned order to PR

Dear expert:
Is there any way(except ABAP enhancement) to add the field "tracking number" in MD15 when I conduct collective conversion from planned order to PR. Seems in standard config this field in not included in this screen. I have set this field as a mandatory field, but even though when I conduct the conversion, this field still can not be displayed in the MD15 conversion screen.
