Planned service via BAPI

Hi,
I was trying to create a service entry via BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE.
It's giving error 'unplanned services text (some text) not allowed'.
I am using a planned PO. How BAPI is understanding it is a unplanned service.
Any field there in BAPI for this?
Please advice.

But I could not understand the note fully.
It says PLN_PCKG and PLN_LINE of ENTRYSHEET SERVICES should correspond exactly to ESLL-PACKNO and ESLL-INTROW
But ESLL-PACKNOand ESLL-INTROW will be created after service entry creation.
1.Which number I should put in PLN_PCKG and PLN_LINe of ENTRYSHEET SERVICES?
2. Also suppose XI got 10 for creating different service entries in one file.
Now for each entry if PCKG_NO in ENTRYSHEETSERVICES is 1and SUBPCKG_NO is 2 ,then wil it create any problem?
Means for 10 entries should I need to give PCKG_NO 1, 2,3 etc

How to create 'Planned service line' using BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE? Pl. help

I need to create service entry sheet ( SES ) using input data from text file through BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE.
If the input contains service line items, which are not present in PO, it should be treated as an unplanned service and correspondingly 'unplanned' indicator is to be set on ML81N ( Service netry sheet ) display.
I want to make an entry unplanned if the input field external no. ( Field: BAPIESLLC-EXT_LINE ) is not matching with external no. field of corresponding purchase order to which the SES refers.
The BAPI works fine for all cases except one. If the unplanned service line contains field SERVICE_NO value which is matching with a SERVICE_NO in PO, it is invariable treated by BAPI as 'PLANNED'. ie. BAPI decides whenther a service line is planned or unplanned based on SERVICE_NO only.
For eg. Let a PO contains one service line with SERVICE_NO value 1008505.
            If SES input file contains 2 service entries with SERVICE_NO value 1008505.
            While creating SES, the BAPI should treat first entry as 'planned' and second line as 'unplanned'.
            But while running the program, both lines are created as 'Planned' only, since SERVICE_NO value 1008505 exists in the PO.
I need to set the service line planned/unplanned through my prgram, overriding the automatic setting up of BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE.
Hope this clarifies my requirement.

Do NOT USE BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDATA, that FM is obsolete!
Use BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT1 .
To build a reference to your contract you have to supply ORDER_HEADER_IN.

Service entry sheet creation for planned services

Hi,
I have created a service purchase order with planned services. After this I am trying to create a service entry. During ML81N, I give the P.O number and then click on create service entry.
However, to adopt the services from the purchases, there is a service selection tab which takes the user to the services tab of the purchase order and then the user must select the relevant service and click on the adopt button to bring the service into service entry sheet screen.
However, in my case, the service selection tab is not appearing on the service entry screen. Hence I am not able to call the services from the purchase order. I am on ECC 6.0 version.
Am I missing some step in config or in procedure ?

This doesn't sound like a config problem.
If the services are on the PO then you should be able to select the option to choose them from the PO services.
A remote (very remote) possibility is that you may have an authorisation problem, stopping you from being able to use the PO details? Is this possible? do you have authorisation to change this PO via ME22N etc:?

Publish ABAP utility implemented on PI system as Web service via PI itself.

Hello Experts,
We have a requirement where we might need to publish a feature related to user management from ABAP stack of PI as a web service via PI itself.
So scenario might look like
SOAP Client -> PI -> PI (ABAP functionality)
I have seen some blogs on SDN which suggest publishing FM directly using menu options in SE37 (Utilities (M) u2192 More Utilities u2192 Create Web Service u2192 From the Function Module). But then this interface will not be under PI and will be exception to general architecture of having all web services published via PI.
May be its a very simple scenario and I am thinking of solution in complex ways. Any quick inputs from experts on what would be the best way to implement this , will be a great help for me to start quickly.
Can we implement a normal SOAP to Proxy(ABAP) scenario for PI as we do while exposing services on ECC or any other ABAP system as a SOAP service?
Or is there any smart way of handling this scenario?

I will work out on SOAP to RFC scenario & close the thread when scenario works.
Just to Share: Yesterday, just out of curiosity I tried to use proxy scenario where PI system itself was Receiver in our sandbox, the message goes in a kind of infinite loop and keeps processing the message again and again till it turns out to error.
I tried it using the existing Business system for PI where it is configured as Integration Server & I have also tried to create a new business system for a different client on PI system with role as "Application System", but still the result was same.

BAPI stands for Business API(Application Program Interface).
A BAPI is remotely enabled function module ie it can be invoked from remote programs like standalone JAVA programs, web interface etc..
You can make your function module remotely enabled in attributes of Function module but
A BAPI are standard SAP function modules provided by SAP for remote access. Also they are part of Businees Objest Repository(BOR).
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.

Reading instances of SAP business objects
GetList ( ) With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
The BAPI GetList() is a class method.

Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )

Delete( ) and Undelete( ) The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.

The steps to be followed are :
1. Find out the relevant BAPI (BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE for VA02).
[for VA01 use BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2]
2. Create a Z program and call the BAPi (same as a Funtion module call).

Bapi to VB(Visual Basic)
Long back I had used the following flow structure to acheive the same.
Report -> SM59 RFC destination -> COM4ABAP -> VB.exe
my report uses the rfc destination to create a COM session with com4abap. com4abap calls the vb.exe and manages the flow of data between sap and vb exe.
You need to have com4abap.exe
If com4abap is installed you will find it in sapgui installatin directory , C:\Program Files\SAPpc\sapgui\RFCSDK\com4abap.
else refer OSS note 419822 for installation of com4abap
after making the settings in com4abap to point to the vb program and setting up rfc destination in sm59 to point to com4abap session , you can use the following function modules to call the vb code.

BAPI - BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interfaces) are the standard SAP interfaces. LSMW- No ABAP effort are required for the SAP data migration. However, effort are required to map the data into the structure according to the pre-determined format as specified by the pre-written ABAP upload program of the LSMW.
The Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) is a tool recommended by SAP that you can use to transfer data once only or periodically from legacy systems into an R/3 System.
More and more medium-sized firms are implementing SAP solutions, and many of them have their legacy data in desktop programs. In this case, the data is exported in a format that can be read by PC spreadsheet systems. As a result, the data transfer is mere child's play: Simply enter the field names in the first line of the table, and the LSM Workbench's import routine automatically generates the input file for your conversion program.
The LSM Workbench lets you check the data for migration against the current settings of your customizing. The check is performed after the data migration, but before the update in your database.
So although it was designed for uploading of legacy data it is not restricted to this use.
We use it for mass changes, i.e. uploading new/replacement data and it is great, but there are limits on its functionality, depending on the complexity of the transaction you are trying to replicate.
The SAP transaction code is 'LSMW' for SAP version 4.6x.

What are the methods to migrate data from a legacy system to SAP?
LSMW is used for migrating data from a legacy system to SAP system, or from one SAP system to another.
Apart from standard batch/direct input and recordings, BAPI and IDocs are available as additional import methods for processing the legacy data.
The LSMW comprises the following main steps:
Read data (legacy data in spreadsheet tables and/or sequential files).
Convert data (from the source into the target format).
Import data (to the database used by the R/3 application.
But, before these steps, you need to perform following steps :
Define source structure : structure of data in the source file.
Define target structure : structure of SAP that receives data.
Field mapping: Mapping between the source and target structure with conversions, if any.
Specify file: location of the source file
Of all the methods used for data migration like BDC, LSMW , Call Transaction which one is used most of the time?
How is the decision made which method should be followed? What is the procedure followed for this analysis?
All the 3 methods are used to migrate data. Selection of these methods depends on the scenario, amount of data need to transfer. LSMW is a ready tool provided by SAP and you have to follow some 17 steps to migrate master data. While in BDCs Session method is the better choice because of some advantages over call transaction. But call transaction is also very useful to do immediate updation of small amout of data. (In call transaction developer has to handle errors).
SO Bottom line is make choice of these methods based of real time requirements.
These methods are chosen completely based on situation you are in. Direct input method is not available for all scenario, else, they are the simplest ones. In batch input method ,you need to do recording for the transaction concerned. Similarly, IDoc, and BAPI are there, and use of these need to be decided based on the requirement.
Try to go through the some material on these four methods, and implement them. You will then have a fair idea about when to use which

Initially there will be 20 steps but after processing 1 step it will reduced to 14 for session method.

BI IP Executing planning sequence via process chain not possible

Hi,
we use BI IP and have defined a process chain (RSPC) with value type process planning sequence. When we execute it, we get error message
"Inconsistent input parameter (parameter: <unknown>, value <unknown>)"
When we execute this planning sequence via the modeller or via SE38 RSPLS_PLSEQ_EXECUTE everything works fine. I thougt the cause could be the user of the job itself (job is executed with different user, and variant of planning sequence is user-dependent!), but I changed the user in the job itself as well without results.
any thoughts?

Hi,
I executed with my user and have a SAP_ALL authorization. Perhaps it could be because we use authorisation with the old method (4.0) (-> I'm not sure on this). I also think it has to do with authorization. I'll check this out with our authorization consultant.

Browser based InfoPath form deployed on a Claims based Web Application calling a Secure Web Service via Data Connection

We have a Browser based InfoPath Form deployed on a Claims based Web Application. We are tyring to call WCF Services that are secure using Certificates via the Data Connections on Infopath Form.
Earlier we used to get the Data in BCS External List via the WCF Services and the Data Connections used to get the Data from the BCS External List. Due to Performance Issues, we want to remove the BCS External List and straightaway call the secure WCF Services
via the Data Connections.
Have anyone implemented this scenario.

Hi Ram,
As these are browser based InfoPath forms, you have two options
1) Deploy as sandboxed forms
In this case you have to create a secure store application id and then set the credentials for that account.
You then have to export the data connection to Data connections library and modify the .udcx file to utilize the newly created secure store application id.
This may sometime give issues related to sandboxed code service. You have to give permissions on the secure store for the user account which the sandboxed code service is running.
2) Deploy as administrator approved forms
This would be ideal way of doing things as you have full control over the web request if you write code behind InfoPath forms.
3) Deploy as a Hybrid solution
a) Write a full trust proxy solutions (extend SPProxyOperation class and override execute method) and make the web request call inside this and return the response
b) Invoke above operation from the sandboxed InfoPath form's code behind by SPUtility.RegisteredProxyOperation(four part assembly name, operation args)

Return NULL when invoke Web Service via UTL_DBWS

right now, i'm using UTL_DBWS to acces Web Service via database.. but when i'm trying to get data from WEB SERVICE, using utl_dbws.invoke , i got NULL value.
It happened if The result more than Varchar2 / 32767 byte.
i'have tried to change code by :

Invoking Siebel CRM OnDemand Web Service via BPEL

I'm trying to invoke a Siebel CRM OnDemand Web Service via BPEL. Basically, the Siebel guide says to post to a url with user/pwd to get a session ID returned from a cookie. I did that using embedded java and have the session ID as a variable in my BPEL process. My problem is with now calling the Web Service to perform the action. I have a WSDL from Siebel, but the guide says to use an HTTP post with the session ID in the url and the XML in the body. How do I do that? Shouldn't the WSDL handle that when I create the Partner Link? Do I need to use more embedded Java for this or can I set up a Partner Link? I created a Partner Link and it shows the methods I want to use, but I get the following error when I try to call it because I don't know where to add the session ID:

The Siebel OnDemand web services can accept the siebel session token in the URL. Append ';jessionid={%sessionIdFromCookie%}' to the end point. Obviously this has to be done dynamically. Refer to the article called 'Making BPEL Processes Dynamic' (http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/bpel_cookbook/carey.html) pay particular attention to the 'Eliminating address dependency at run time' section.

Create Support Message via BAPI with additional partners

Hi all,
i need to create a support message (slfn) via bapi / function module. The basic creation is no problem with BAPI_NOTIFICATION_CREATE.
But i need to set additional partner(functions) like "approved by" in the support message. With this bapi i can only set the processor and creator of the message.
How can i add additional partners via BAPI call?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Daniel,
i do not think there is a standard functionality for this.
you can use function module CRM_DNO_UPDATE_PARTNER to set partner functions to a message. You will have to build your own RFC enabled function module around this, though.
Then you can use it to add your partners after the message was created.

We are in AFS system and we try to reduce a quantity in sales order via BAPI.
We recive back an error 8w 280. We are not able to find wich is and where is a problem.
Does anyone have experince on that problem/error message

After BAPI_PO_CREATE1, you have to run BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to post
the data.
For example, from SE37:
You can goto menubar: Function Module
Test-> Test sequence,
Fill in BAPI_PO_CREATE1 then follow by BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT .

Proxy restful services via osb

Hi,
I would like to proxy my rest services via OSB for monitoring purpose. I did configure a simple GET call to use OSB proxy, I did it by creating a business service and point the URI to use the absolute URL of the rest Services (i.e. http://localhost:port/myRestMethod) and then created a proxy service pointing to my business service. Is this the correct way of doing it? Also I have the following questions:
1. is there a way to make the URI for the rest service dynamic?
2. How should I configure a post?
I would appreciate any kind of help or if you can point me to some kind of documentation or example. I am very new to OSB and don't have much knowledge about it.

You can set the headers of the request quit similar to the ones you use for the get and delete parts. If you want to POST or PUT JSON/Xml/Text to your rest service you have to fill the $body variable with the contents of the request you want to send. When you use a proxy service I would suggest adding a route to block at the end of the PS. The route block contains a route to the business service you want to call.
When you send the $body in the request pipeline to the business service the $body variable gets updated when the business services receives a response.
What I usually do is add reporting blocks to your request and response pipelines that contain the $body and $header vars. That way it's easy to see what requests you are sending and what kind of responses you are retrieving.

Handling unit creation in existing shipment via BAPI or IDOC

Dear all,
Dose any one tried and succeed packing deliveries items in an existing shipment in the shipment level via BAPI or IDOC.
I tried to use IDOC massage type SHPADV. The problem was that it's creates a new shipment with the same deliveries and pack their items, although I entered the existing shipment number.
With regards to "BAPI_SHIPMENT_CHANGE", it is seems like this BAPI is not an option. It is update the shipment in any shipment field but not creating HU in shipment level.
Dose there any solution via those options or there is any other solution.

I tried simulating this LSMW (message type- PREQCR1, Baisc type -PREQCR101) and it is working fine. I used creation indicator = R in item segment - E1BPMEREQITEM and have not updated value for this field in Header. So try without any value for CREATE_IND in HEADER and just pass R in item.
