Planning book connected to Selection ID

Hi,
Is there a standard transaction or table to know the planning book connected to a selection ID?
The requirement here is...i need to change a selection ID, but not sure about the planning book!!!
Any ideas??

Hi,
Go to txn /sapapo/mc77
On the left column choose Master Sel.org. in Profile, Select any planning book belonging to a planning area,
On the right column in Reference, choose All Selection IDs.
This will list all selection ids for that particular planning area irrespective of planning books.

i think like in any other planning book, it should be in the Data view tab in the TB future.
you need to create time bucket profiles though that have the periods you need. And these periods need to be equal to or greater than the Storage bucket profile used in the linked planning area

In Planning Book ICON - Demand Planning

In Planning book in DP
There is a ICOn Load Data (FOLDER) what for it is used , when i press the button the forecast data appear in the display which mean does it pulling the data from Live cache to planning book or from BI
There is one more ICON `
Header information settings
when i click this i can see all my charecteriscs and when i select it is dispayed in the top
how can it be used in bussiness point of view

Dear Raj
In the planning book, you can select more than one product at a time. When you click on one product, in planning book it will show you the data for particular product. In same case business users want to see the all the information together for more than one product.
In this case we can select these multiple products and use this load data icon which will load the data for all the products together. For example
               Month1     Month 2     Month 3
Product A     Demand          10          10          10
Product B     Deamnd          20          20          20
When you select both the products and load the data by using load icon you will see Total demand as below in the planning book.
               Month     1     Month 2     Month 3
          Demand          30          30          30
Now with the Header information, you can select the respective characteristic on which you want see this data disaggregated.

Create manual demand in planning book

Follow the below steps to enter manual demand in planning book.
1) Use transaction /sapapo/sdp94
2) Either you can use selection window or selection profile to load your data(product location combination in a version) for uploading demand.
3) In selection window, select the product, location and version and enter
4) Once your selected items are seen, double click on the location product combination for which demand needs to entered.
5) The data will get populated into the planning book
6) Meanwhile, select your planning book and data view which contains the relevant key figure for which manual demand needs to be entered (say like forecast, demand, dependent demand etc.,)
7) Goto change mode
8) Then enter the suitable demand values in the key figures in the planning book
9) Once the data are entered, save the changes.

Activation of Planning Book and Macro's during Upgrade

Hello All,
We have copied all the planning books and macros from scm 4 to 7.
When I try to login in my planning book with any selection it says 'An error occured during the generation of the macro program'.
If I check the macro's for the planning in the macro workbench it says 'Macro(s) Was/Were Not Generated, Macro Book Was Not Saved'. Please let me know is there any to activate all the planning books and macros.

I guess this is related to your other query. As mentioned there take a look at Note 1331066 which is part of SCM 7.0 SP 4.
One easy way to determine the relevant notes by each application area is to check the Support Pack link as below

You can then open each application area check for relevant notes for your issue. Use 70003, 70002 and 70001 to see the notes bundled in SP3, 2 and 1 respectively for SCM 7.0. The latest SP available for SCM 7.0 is SP5.

The "Details All" view in the SNP planning book is not sorted

The "Details All" view in the SNP planning book should be sorted by Product Description in ascending order.
When all products in the selection ID are loaded into the SNP planning book, and then "Details All" is selected from the Header area, the product description list is not sorted in ascending order.
However when I load small number of products the issue does not occur they get sorted correctly by product description.
Is this hapenning due to standard functionality/Standard macro in Planning book?
Please let me know if anybody has faced this kind of issue earlier.

Hi Rohit,
If you are using Detail All drill down then you wonu2019t get any option for sort as it will load all codes from the selection in the planning book and sorting will be based on product IDs.
but if you drill down from header on detail all -filter, even if you sort the display list there using ascending/descending button for Description, the list that you will get in the planning book after load will be based on the Product IDs agian.
I hope this is controlled from the selection we do in planning book where we select Location/Product, but if your planning is better driven by the description then you can remove the Product ID selection from header setting and have only description in drill down.

Error in updating ALV field catalog in selection tool for Planning Book

Hi ,
I am Implementing BADI '/SAPAPO/SDP_SELECTOR' to upload Custom Fields Data in Planning Book Selection Window under APO Location Product. These Custom Fields are maintained in Custom Table.So from Table whatever Custom Fields are availabe all the fields needs to be available in for selection. Once selection is done the same data to be uploaded into Planning Book.
This BADI is working Fine upto 4 fields but if any extra fields are added in the table 'Error in updating ALV field catalog in selection tool' error Pop Up is coming. Here i am using Folloowing Methods
1). INIT_OBJECT_LIST
2). F4
3). LOC_PROD_VALUE_LIST
Please help on the same if u have any idea or clue.

There are more than one ways of doing this.
The best option is to create a freely definable attribute (Spro --- APO >> Master data >> Freely definable attributes) at material location level and now you will automatically be able to see the attribute when your create a selection id. But you have to make sure you add logic in your material cIF user exit or create a custom program in APO to populate the desired values for the freely definable attribute for all materials in the selection

Hi,
You will get details of of the user who created the selection IDs and date /time details from the database table /SAPAPO/TS_SELKO (Header Selection Variants) .
You may create a simple query for this or an elaborate ABAP report.

Hello does anyone know if it is possible to call a selection profile in a planning book using a popup box?
i.e. perhaps using a macro ?

Just wondering what is the business need this pop-up, based on user settings list of selection profiles already filtered and displayed in the planning book. User can select the profile just by clicking the list of selection profiles provided.
For the web enabled users, they can select data view, and selection profiles before they view the planning book screen. Check with your technical person they should be able to tell you if the same can be used and built a pop-up.

As suggested by Kapil, Please check for authorization error. You can also view SU53 immediately after you enter into Planning book.
C_APO_FUN is the authorization object which has two key functions C_SELECTION and C_SELORG. User of C_SELECTION is - If user is not assigned C_SELECTION function then selection icon does not appear in Planning Book.

Can you check if ''Selection profile" is checked in the ''view selection" option in the top left of the planning book for the user?
you can choose the hide/show the Selection profile tab, planning book/data view and macros tab using that function.

Display Characteristics-Planning Book Selected Objects

Dear Experts
Product , Product group and product category are 3 char. in my Planning Book
by using shullfer we selected to show one of the char. but i want the display of selected objects (Top left box of the Planning book) to be showing all the 3 characteristics. based on the filter criteria specified.
Just displaying one char. specified in show is not enough.

Shyam Kumar,
Once you have a selection ID with the 3 chars, you could use Show as only one char, lets say use 'Product' Char here. You can use the Header settings to include the other two - Product group and product category and then drill down on all 3 Chars Values as you wish. You can save this header settings and next time the user logs in, you need not redo these settings.

Data selection not showing in Planning book

Hi everybody,
We were using one info cube on APO side and so from cube the data will be shown in the APO planning book..
Now we modifed the cube on APO by adding new infosource and new mappings from BW side with data marts.. I can see the data is successful loaded to cube, but the slection it self is not showing.. i dont see anything related to cube and so i couldnt run the planning book.. My point is data is available in cube bu planning book now have no data...it is not showing any data..

There might be few things you should probably check
1) In the planning object structure just activate the POB. through the context menu.
2) I think you might have assigned the Infocube into the Planning areas as Infocube Fed key figures. Make sure that all the characteristics remain the same. There might be inconsistency between the char of the new Cube and the already existing PA.
3) Create time series to the PA or perform initialization of the PA.
4) Try creating a CVC manually and see if it allows to create.
Atleast now you should be able to see the key figures in the Planning Area.
Let me know if it works.

Business Objects and Demand Planning Book

Has anyone combined the functionality of Business Objects and Demand Planning into a single view? The requirement is to provide enhanced analytics (near real-time) within DP. We are on version 5.0. Ideally, it will a single view (table and graph -similar to standard layout) where both DP and BO are called with the same selection. I have a method to access the data near real time. What are the options to acheive this? Any ideas will be helpful.

Thanks Dave. I created a virtual cube in APO to connect BO. I can retrieve the data fine. I was wondering if there is a way to integrate BO and the planning book so that I will have one view to see both applications. For example, I called /zsapapo/sdp94 and get the planning book and BO analytics. Essentially, I want the BO to replace the standard graphics in the planning book. So, I would have a table at the top and BO dashboard at the bottom of the planning view. Any ideas how to achieve this?
The other question is around using a function module or BAPI to connect a virtual cube to LC to retrieve real time information. Are you aware of any drawbacks to using a function module or BAPI to retrieve data instead of the DataSource?
