Planning drill through with EPMA members

I have a webform and it displays a field 'Asset Desc' which is member of Accounts Dim. This member is only at EPMA and not in Essbase.
Once the Data is entered through webform, I should be able to drill-thru with 'Asset Desc' along with other details.

What do you mean by it is not there in Essbase? If it is showing up in webform and you can enter data it'll be there in Essbase.
If you perform a search for Planning drill through you'll get lots of article.

  • Hyperion Planning Drill through

    Hello All,
Please suggest Essbase Studio if works for the below scenario of our environment.
We have a Planning cube and Drill through defined in planning cube using EIS in the planning cube. We want to use Essbase studio 11.2.1. instead of EIS and define drill through on the same planning cube.
I did some research on Essbase studio and did not find a way to just specify drill through on planning cube without building the outline from Studio. Can any one suggest if it is possible to define drill through on planning cube from studio or we have to stay with EIS with the current architecture.
    Thanks and appreciate your response.

As far as I am aware there is no direct integration so the outline still needs to be built from studio.
    Cheers

  • OLAP Universe and drill through with Essbase

    Hi all
Has anyone created an OLAP universe on top of Essbase that allows the user to drill through back to an Oracle database?
If anyone has can you please let me know how you did this.
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Dean

    Hi,
There is no way to activate drill-through from Essbase to any other database within OLAP universes.
If you are using Web Intelligence you have 2 alternatives:
<li> The first one is to create 2 data providers (1 on Essbase and 1 on Oracle) and synchronize them.
This is not really a drill thorugh operation but you have both data sources in sync in the same document.
<li> The second option is to create 2 Web Intelligence documents (1 on Essbase and 1 on Oracle) and then parameterize the Essbase document to use Opendoc capabilities (hyperlink) to dril-through on the Oracle document.

    Hi all
How can I achieve drill through from an Essbase cube to an Oracle database?
Is there an option in OLAP universes to achieve this?
If not do I have alternative options?
Thank you for your help and kind regards,

  • Hyperion Planning Drill through to FDM

From Hyperion Planning , when trying to do DrillThrough to FDM a blank Internet explorer page opens. Any setting which needs to be modified to make it work.

you need to import adapter for drill thru capability from FDM. I guess Essbase adapter ES11xG4D.exe is used for both Planning and Essbase

  • Issue with Drill Through Reports in Essbase Studio.

    Hi,
we are using essbase studio to drill through to the source table in Oracle. In drill through definition the query is like , select * from source where (Project IN ($$PROJECTS-VALUE$$)). Project column is located in source table and PROJECTS-VALUES are located in Essbase under project dimension and we will select the values in smart view. we are using smart view to check drill through reports. In smart view, If i select one member at gen-2 level which contains 1450 level-0 members,It is saying as error in executing the report in line 1972. Is there any limitation with IN condition , such that oracle takes only limited values like count of 999.we are facing issue only at gen-2 of project and it is working good from gen-3.
Please let me know is there any kind of certain limitation.

It is possible you are overloading the parser. If the projects table/view is a recursive join, when Studio creates the $$Project-value$$ is actaully returns all the level zero members under the member selected(at least in 11.1.2.X. If the list is huge, it might have problems. I would open an SR to see if there is a limit. It might be number of characters or values

  • Drill through from Planning to FDM 11.1.2 Not working

    Hi,
I have FDM with Essbase adapter installed, version 11.1.2.0.0.
And i have FDM application configured to load data from files to essbase. When in Planning form i am clicking 'drill through' icon on cell with loaded data it opens new window with error:
Error: No locations were found matching the passed intersection values. Please verify:
    1) that the target system (originating the drill through) is properly configured;
    2) that FDM POVs have not been retroactively modified or compromised.
In the FDM error log the following record:
    ERROR:

And we can see that (CatTarget) = N'EXP.011201PDV.BDRS.BUDGET' consist of three joined together elements from three different dimension EXP.011201(account) and PDV.BDR(custom3) and S.BUDGET(scenario).
With other custom dimensions in this select statement - the same error, in front of correct element - string with other joined elements.
Can anybody help me to understand why i have this error in drill through?
FDM error or Oracle RDBMS errors or Planning with Essbase? Something wrong with locale setting may be, with "," or "." delimiter somewhere in the settings?

    Hi there
Are you using member aliases or names? I had problems with aliases in excel not allowing drill through. not sure if this is fixed in 11.1.2
Are you trying to drill through from a level 0 intersection?

  • How to prefix member names in Planning with EPMA load?

    Hi
I use Planning 11.1.2.1 and load the metadata with EPMA.
I would like to add a prefix for all my members (P_TEST instead of the TEST I have in my source file).
I don't find how to do that :-(
thanks in advance for your help
    Fanny

    Hi
You can export the dimensions using EPMA file generator to a text file. You can then edit the file (i.e. add prefixes) preferably using Excel and load it back into EPMA again.

  • EPM 11.1.1.3 Drill back with Hyperion Planning and Financial Reporting

    Hi,
I'm trying to drill back data with Planning thanks to FDM but it doesn't work.
In fact Planning server and FDM server are not installed on the same machine. My user is both admin on Planning application and FDM one.
When I drill back my data the url provided is the planning one and not FDM server one. I've set up application properties on Planning Application such as FDM_BASE_URL with
"http://servername/HyperionFDM/AuthorizedPages/IntersectionSummaryByLocation.aspx", and the restated my webserver, but it doesn't work.
    I've the following errors :
    Server Error in '/' Application.
    The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
    Requested URL: /HyperionFDM/AuthorizedPages/IntersectionSummaryByLocation.aspx
    Best Regards
    Eric

When you say drill back, are you saying you want to drill through to the source database or whatever it was you loaded the data from?
If so, my question is was this data loaded using FDM ?
Also I would run the validation tool in EPM Diagnostics and make sure everything is ok on the web end.
Not knowing exactly what your setup looks like, this is all I can suggest for now.

Normally if the drill through report fetches a wrong combination of members or huge amount of members than the way it was designed in the Drill through Report template. The database may fail due to improper query. Check the database and table status. Also fetch the report with proper combination of members.

  • EPMA Essbase Studio Drill-through

If I deploy a Planning application via EPMA is it possible to configure drill-through from Planning via Essbase Studio?
    Thanks,
    Jz

The drill-through path from Planning is from a web-form to FDM.
Can this hack drill through from a Planning web-form or would I need to created reports in Planning to drill-through?
The Studio documentation only talks about Reports...
    Thanks,

  • Drill-Through from Planning in 9.3.1

    Hi All,
We are on 9.3.1 and want to implement drill-through capabilities from Planning. We are building our dimensions in DRM and through HAL uploading it in Planning. We are not using EIS. Can someone guide me anyway to implement this. We don't mind using EIS but I have read in some forum that you can do this bypassing EIS but not sure how to implement it.
Can anyone please guide me. Thanks in advance...

I really wanted it to be from Planning web forms but if it is possible with SmartView I can take a look at it. Custom VBScript would be a real pain as we don't have that kind of resources so have to give this functionality using what we have.
I found some documents which talk about this process from Planning web but couldn't really figure out what needs to be done. The docs are below:

  • Drill through from Planning to Oracle

    Hello,
Quick question: If I load data into Hyperion Planning using ODI, will I be able to drill through to the source which is an Oracle database ? If not, what do I need to be able to do the drill through ?

I might run into an issue with that: My infrastructure uses single sign-on (using OAM). FDM does not support single sign-on according to the platform matrix. But it apparently does support it for HFM applications. Single sign-on is also a Connection Option, according to the DBAG for FDM. (which really confuses me: Why does the platform matrix say SSO not supported but then it does work with HFM and it is one of the connection options?
But anyway as far as I know, the above is not the case for planning. Is my understanding correct? If a user provisioned using single sign-on has accesses a data form in the planning application, is there any way he/she will be able to drill through to the source Oracle 10g/11g database? Users also need to push planning and forecasting data from the planning application to the Oracle DB.
    Maybe there's a workaround?
Any insight into this will be greatly appreciated as always.

  • FDM Drill through capabilty from Hyperion Planning

    Hi,
I have currently some questions regarding the Drill through capability from Hyperion planning.
I successfully loaded a multiperiod excel file into FDM with the interface with this property :
Account     Centre     Description     Legal Entity     BU Product     Currency     Version     Application     Customer     Supplier
    A     C     D     UD1     UD2     UD3     UD4     UD5     UD6     Default Supplier     V     V
    ROYALTIES          Default_Site     SOI - Prime - 4 - 3400/4000 Å -     COMPANY_INC     4.PRO.RD0003.PF     USD     Sales Initial     App_1     Customer1     Default Supplier     100     200
When i did the drill back I could see all the info except the description. It is true that description field is not present in Hyperion planning but I thougth I could see it in the drill back.
On top of that I have been to my FDMApplication directory to see the file that is used in the drill back (SAMPLE0748.dat) and open it with notepad. I can see all the information except the description column.
Does anyone know how I can keep in FDM all the informations I want from my first excel file ?
    Thank you,
    David

I understand what you explain to me and I agree.
Only one problem is that I don't think in my Hyperion Application I use the account description or Description 2 that would explain the fact I can not use it in the drill back.
So my next question on this topic is, how do I make sure that I can copy attributes values in FDM into Planning.
For your info I check on the workbench and "Account description" & "Description 2" are under my application "Attributes dimensions"
By the way I have an other question wich is not far from the last one.
Regarding the drill back if do an import like this :
    CUST1     (Mapping)     GROUPCUST1      100
    CUST2     (Mapping)     GROUPCUST1 200
Will I be able to see in the Drill back CUST1 & CUST2 ?
by the way do you agree with this discussion Dimensions/Fields Displayed on Drill through screen ? Because it is something I wanted to do in FDM...
    Thanks again,

I am using ERPI to load data from Oracle GL 11.5 to Hyperion PLanning 11.1.2.1.
The data are well loaded. Tje drill-through from Hyperion Planning to FDM is ok.
But whe I try to execute the drill-through from FDM to Oracle eBS, I have the following error message :
    Invalid ERPI URL
Return value from erpi web service : java.lang.exception: Invalid DataKey (33487765): No record found.
    ERPI Data Key value: 33487765
I have another application with the same source and the same target and the drill-through is ok.
Thanks in advance for your help

Are you modifying the source value in any way before import into FDM? Using an import format in FDM for example?
