Planning for subassmeblies for configurable product

Hi, We are using Material Type = KMAT.
With Variant configuration, customer selects the characteristic values.
This leads to creation of 1st level BOM on saving the sales order.
All these 1st level BOM subassemblies are with procurement type "E" and Special procurement type="52". No GRs are made on these subassemblies.
We get the sales orders throughout the month. To respond to the demand, we intend to plan these subassemblies(without making GRs for the subassmelies) in MRP.
At MRP time, based on sales interactions, upto 60% of the subassembly demand is know.
Question 1:How do we capture the demand of these subassemblies for MRP?
(When sales orders are not created)
Question 2: If these subassemblies are fed as PIR in MD61, will SAP consume the PIRs when sales orders come?

C(SPK-52)
B's BOM
B1(stg 70)
B2(stf 70)
You need to have a stg 70 for subassemblies and enter the qty in demand management
You should not use 52 -collective order for 1st level BOM.
Then with stg 70, when you run MRP. Then the requirement for these assemblies are getting netted off with the qty you have enetered in stg 70.
You cannot have Both i.e. 52/sales order and demand plan to net off. i.e.
KMAT material A
its BOM item
B(SPK-52) and stg 70
C(SPK-52) and stg 70

Planning in APO with configurable products

Dear Gurus
we would like to use APO DP in order to plan the demand of configurable products managing the demand figures only for a combination of the two main products characteristics (model/version) without having in DP all the complexity of the order configuration.
Moreover we would like to allocate this forecast to the plants and make a rough capacity planning. The levelled forecast (MPS) should then be used to explode the dependent demand of the critical components at SKU level.
In order to manage this process I was thinking to introduce u201Cdummy codesu201D that represent the charatteristics combination and u201Cdummy BOMu201D for the explosionu2026. This in order to be albe to use SNP to perform the capacity planning and BOM explosion.
Other scenario could be to make the capacity planning and BOM explosion only in DP (with planning BOM) but Iu2019m not sure of the feasibilityu2026
Could you advise on which could be a possible approach and if you had such similar issue to face? Thanks in advance

Here you may think of using planning product concept. Inshort you may plan on the basis of one of your critical subassembly
and this subassembly wud be consumed for most of the order demands.

Production order split for configurable products

Is it possible to convert an APO planned order for configurable product to a production order in ECC and then to split this order in ECC?
What will be the visibility in APO regarding pegging, GATP...

ATP Check(in SCM ) for a Configurable product during sales order creation.

HI Guru's,
our client is implementing GATP(SCM) and Variant Config(ECC 6.0)
when a Sales order is created for a Configurable Product of 20" width and 10" diameter, and with some other Characteristics, He wants the ATP check to be done for that particular product with specific width and diameter.
Is there any possible solution?

Assuming that you know how to configure Variant configuration in R/3, ATP check in R/3 I will list down the ATP set up and setup relevant to Variant Configuration in SCM.
APO side.
1.Check Definition of Characteristics and Class system:
SAP APO - Implementation Guide -> SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO) -> Basis Settings -> Define Class System (CDP or Classical Characteristics)
2. Check Mode ( use same requirements class used in R/3 mat master)
SAP APO - Implementation Guide -> SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO) -> Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) -> General Settings -> Maintain Check Mode
3. Create a check instruction with your check mode and AE(make to stock SD order) combination and set up the desired ATP check method in it.
SAP APO - Implementation Guide -> SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO) -> Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) -> General Settings -> Maintain Check Instructions
4. Check Control with your ATP group and AE business event.
SAP APO - Implementation Guide -> SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO) -> Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP Check) -> Product Availability Check -> Maintain Check Control
5.Maintain suitable scheduling horizon in SAP APO - Implementation Guide -> SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO) -> Supply Chain Planning -> Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) -> Global Settings -> Maintain Global Parameters and Defaults -> Planning Tab
5. Don't forget to CIF classes and charecteristics
6. Maintain check mode, ATP group, PP/DS horizon, planning procedure 3 in product master.
If you want to trigger production you have to maintain planning procedure 5 in product master and appropriate settings for MATP like configure check instructions, production type Mutli level ATP. you have to have valid BOM and Routings, CIF PDS for the material, maintain production version in material master, etc. That will be quite a complex scenario again.
This should give you proper results. Hope this helps.

C)Define default settings for equipment replication
D)Define Serial Number Profiles-ECC

F)Set up attributes for individual objects
G)Set up set types
H)Set up category
I)Set up views
J)Allow reference product for IO

Runtime exception for configurable products

I am getting a runtime exception for configurable products on clicking the link You can select more product options in CRM 7 b2c application . But when i login with a registered user and click the same link , it opens up and takes to the page for configuration of products .

It looks more like an issue with the loading of the JCO properties before the logon. Can you go to XCM and try reentering the password and save the config. Once done do a test connection and restart the application.
Then set a breakpoint in the BackendBusinessObjectBaseSAP class in the method getDefaultJCoConnection().
Here when the current connection is invalid it tries to read the config properties from XCM. Just check if it is reading the correct values from the config ISA_COMPLETE which is read on the backend object.
In case of mismatch, you need to fix that or you could try to build a new JCO connection with your own parameters.

Configuration is not replicated from CRM to ECC for configurable product

Hi,
We have some materials in the system for which the configuration is not replicated from CRM to ECC.
We create a quotation in CRM and configure it. In CRM, the configuration is complete and components are properly exploded but when we check the same quotation in ECC, configuration is incomplete with respect to some characteristics and product references.
Please find below finding
1. If the same material is created in another plant/company code, the configuration is replicated properly.
2. We have also checked that the BOM is completely maintained for plants for which configuration is replicated. But we dont think so it could be an issue since if we create the quotation in ECC instead of creating in CRM, for the plant (for which the configuration is not replicated from CRM to ECC), it is properly exploded and complete.
3. variant prices are replicated properly even though components are not replicated.
We need to know if we can explode the BOM in the configuration even though complete BOM for the particular plant is not maintained. If its not possible to explode, why it is possible for us to explode the BOM in the configuration in quotation.

the configuration (variant configuration and not customization) that is done in CRM contract is not copied to ECC contract. Is it because that item category in CRM is activated for doing the BOM configuration and the same in ECC is not activated for doing the BOM configuration?
My question is that if item category in ECC is not activated for BOM configuration then is it like that the BOM configuration in CRM will not be copied to ECC?

Values for Characteristics entered on Orders with Configurable Products

I have a system that has Configurable Products to be used in Sales Orders. I have a requirement to provide the values stored against some characteriestics for an online report. Can anyone point me in the direction of tables that hold the values entered for characteristics at the order level?

For a target based production creation of Number of planned orders reg

For a target based production, can anybody explain as to how the planned orders created/altered. The main question is the system generated planned orders can be altered, suppose the system generates 10 planned orders can we alter to 8 planned orders if so how?

The way I understood "Target Based" production is that it is an MTS scenario and the Material is assigned with Planning strategy 11 in MRP3 view.
For this you need to PIR(Target) using transaction MD61 with requuirement type "BSF". Once this is done, you can run MRP using MD02 if for single material or run in background using MDBT transaction. Planned orders are created based on the target(PIR).
You can manually change the planned order dates or quantity in the change mode of the planned order, and system firms this planned order.

CRM RMA orders for configurable products

We have configurable products created in ERP. We need the capability to place the configurable products in CRM RMA order. Any guidence on the steps that are needed to bring the configurable products to CRM is greatly appreciated.
Also Is it possible to place a return order for Configurable product as a whole and individually on a single variant of the product? Serial numbers are associated at both the levels.

I am bit confused with the terms you used..
you cannot confirm activity qty while doing cost estimate... Activity confirmation happens during Production Confirmation
Are you talking about missing activity qty/cost in sales order cost estimate?? Contact your PP consultant... You should have a routing attached while creating the sales order.. If that is there, then Activity cost would show up in the sales order cost estimate

Block plannng for non-configurable products

Hi ALL,
I wish to create blocks on a production rsource as follows,
class- chemistry
characteristics- chem1, chem2, chem3,chem4
when PPDS plans for products with chemistry chem1, the planned orders should be created in the block chem1 and so on, so that similar chemistry products are planned together in the time axis
I wish to know if this type of planning is possible. I welcome everones inputs.

The planning in PPDS happens as per the demand qty and date.
The demand checks the product characteristics and starts
assign in the capacity blocks that you have defined in the block
basis definition and assign for the material class.
Say for eg, for a daily bucket of 100, let us say there is demand of
25 in chem1, chem2, chem3 and chem4 for the material class
chemistry, each 25 will get occupied in their blocks at a
stretch.
Say another eg, for a daily bucket of 100, if there is demand for
10 for chem1, 15 for chem2, 0 for chem3, 15 for chem4, then
each block will get assigned with the capacity demand accordingly
and since there is no demand for chem3 characterisitcs, chem4
will get pushed to the previous buckets

"Alternate" Sales Order Costing for configurable product

We are using condition EK02 to record the statistical value of the product cost associated with a make-to-order (configurable) product. Our current accounting system is moving average, so this EK02 value is based on the current moving average of all the components.
Management has a need to store a second statistical value which would be based on standard cost rather than moving average. This value would be used to assess margins on a fixed rather than moving basis. It would not update accounting in any way.
I understand that the method used to perform order costing is configured in SD > Basic functions > Accounting & costing > Maintain requirements class for costing and account assignment. But again, I do not want to change the current method, I want to add a second.
Can anyone suggest a method for doing this?

For getting margin from standard price in material master ,i think u can use VPRS in pricing conditions.
Use the VPRS and its negative copy for getting actaul margin from sales in pricing procedure.

Promotions at configuration option for a configurable product

Is it possible to apply promotions to a specific configuration options in a Configurable Material?
For example, Material A is a configurable product. It has several configuration options with charges attached at configuration option (i.e. Characteristic value level) through variant conditions. Now if we want to give a promotional discount for a specific configuration option, Is it possible through standard SAP Promotions and Sales Deal functionality?
Base Price of Material A: $1000.00
Confuguration option X : $200.00
Promotion on configuration option X : 10% off of Config Option X charges (i.e. -$20)
Net Price of Material A with Config option X should then be:
$1000 + ($200 - $20) = $1000 + $180 = $1180
If it is possible to handle this kind of promotions in SAP ECC, please suggest the config steps involved to include variant condition type in the Promotions.

Have you checked the downloaded knowledge bases in the CRM tables - COMM_CFGKB or COMM_SCEKB?
If you don't find the entries in one of the above tables (particularly in COMM_CFGKB), then you have an issue regarding the download of SCE.

Config missing, ERROR in CRM for a configurable product.....

Hi friends,
I have a configurable product in CRM, when i try to create a quotation in CRM with that, im getting error as "Configuration missing".
I am not sure why this is coming. I checked the same product in ECC, and when i try to create a quote in Ecc with the same product, im getting no errors.
And more over, in the items, im getting items, like 100, 101, 102, 103.
I want to solve this error in CRM, and create a qoute successfully.
Could anyone give me some guidelines or steps to solve this issue.
I am just an ABAPER, and i dont have any fucntional person at place.
I really appreciate your help on this regard.

Now in the Qutation item configuration tab, i can see the configuration UI with all the drop downs in that. But it has got a message on top " The configuration contains conflict".
when i click details, the following msg is there.

I couldnt understand what is missing.
what i did is, in the ipc xcm settings, i created a scenario, and a jco. its working fine. I updated PROP and URL tables with those scenarios and url.
is there any else i have to do?
Also i have created user exits for almost all formulas. Few are giving errors in the conditions tab? is this because of this?
Could anyone help me on how to proceed.I am checking all the settings once again.
