Planning Hierarchy -Mass copying

Is there any transaction code avalible for copying the planning hierarchy from one infostruture to another infostructure.

Thanks for your reply, MC9A can be used only for consistent planning but we are looking for level by level planning infostrurcture.
Can yoy provide the way of copying the planning hierarchy from one infostrurcture to another infostrure

Product Allocation: Planning Hierarchy

hello, friends.
in tests, product allocation is performing as required. it is now time to set the data in PRD.
the hierarchy involves Material, Plant and Sold-to. all-in-all, this translates to a large number of nodes (in the thousands, due to the many possible combinations of the 3 levels). it is not practical to do MC61/MC62 manually.
is there any BAPI that would allow uploading of the planning hierarchy? can the database table accomodate potentially 1 million line items in the table SxxxE?

I am not aware of any BADIs, BAPIs to do this. But if there are programs for deleting, regeneration (RMC**, MC**), so there could be programs for creation/generation also. So check the OSS notes blow.
I am also wondering if you could use SE16 since an infostructure is essentially a table and SAP kind of alluded to it in OSS note 674719 - Planning hierarchy: Highest level is deleted.
Also may be you could use Copy From functionality available within the Transactions MC61 and MC62?
I beleive the recommended largest size of the database is 500, 000 ( 1/2 Million) entries. Take a look at OSS note 631323 which talks about this and provides some useful tips. Also check out the notes mentioned within.

Thank you. I have heard of Logic Pro 7, but I have never personally used it. I'm still growing in the world of Composition, and I know that it is something I will be studying in one of my Computer Music classes coming up for my degree. I think it is something I will look into getting once I can justify the price of it. I guess for the time being, I will continue to play and grow in my ability to use and take advantage of GB, and then see what I can do about or with Logic Pro when I'm ready. The thought of spending $1000 for a program is hard to bite, because I've already spent a lot to produce my music, not only electronic music, but also chamber music and so on. I had no idea it would be so expensive to dive deep into the world of composition! lol.

Planning Hierarchy Maintenance with Gaps

Dear Experts,
Iam using flexible planning for sales plan. I am using flexible planning. I wanted to create planning hierarchy with Gaps. I mean at some levels I will not be having any data to enter. For eg. My first level is country and second level is region. I will not have region for some countries. So when I maintain the planning hierarchy I will not have any value at the region level for a country.
How can I achieve this. When I dont enter any value, system throws the error message, enter the values without gap.

HI There,
SAP does not allow maintaining Plng Hier with gaps coz that breaks the planning chain. We had a similar situation & we made up "distinct" dummy values at that level & plugged them in.
The values need to be distinct for each level/segment/CVC (unique), else it'll mess up the planning. The aggregation/dis-aggregation would go for a toss, if the system finds a common value at one given level.
Bottom line, the Planning Hierarchy structure cannot converge at any intermediate level with a common value, it has to be a pyramid structure.

Planning function to copy version A of year 2007 to Version B of 2008 - IP

I have a copy planning function which has a variable on from version and to version and it works fine.I can copy.So version to version for the same year works fine.
           Another requirement is to copy Version A of year 2007 to version B of year 2008.For this in the planning function I made version,year and calyearmonth all 3 as changeable and have variables on from version from year and to version and to year.I don't have a variable on calyearmonth.
          I run the query for version B and year 2008 and CALYEARMONTH 1/2008-12/2008 and it returns empty results as there is no data for version B for year 2008.then I execute the planning function to copy data from version A and year 2007 to version B and year 2008.I am getting the following error "CalyearMonth is not included in selection".I ran the query for 1/2008 - 12/2008.I didn't understand this.
        In the planning function filter I don't have any filter for calyear and calyear month.But it is there in the query.

Hi Siva,
Since you do not have the calmonth as the change characteristic in your plannning function.The values would be copied to year 2008 with month as #.
So there would be no values for months of 2008 and hence you are getting that error.
You need to copy the month figures also for data to be seen in the report.

I am using flexible planning for sales planning when I define a planning hierarchy, I want to include a user defined field also.
The requirement is like this, Planner wanted to see the cumulative sales figures of domestic and exports (Exports will be to more than one country. So I cant use countries for this).
How can I do this?

Thanks for the reply. Since Iam using flexible planning, I will be creating a user defined info structure. But my question is can I include a custom defined characteristic also in the hierarchy which is not available in the field catalogs for characteristics system is showing?
If so where should I define this characteristics first before assigning to the information structure.

How to make a mass copy of all pictures from iphoto?

I bought new IMac and I have a lot o pictures in my old Imac. How to make a mass copy or transfer so files will sorted as they are in old IMac Iphoto?

Are the photos on the old iMac in iPhoto? If so just connect the two Macs together and copy the iPhoto Library from the old iMac to the Pictures folder of the new iMac.
If you already have an iPhoto library with photos in it on your new iMac be sure to rename the old library to something else so it won't overwrite you new library.
If you want to merge the two libraries into one library either the latest verson of Aperture or the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager can be used.

Any function module to change planning hierarchy (tcode: MC92)?

I need to change planning hierarchy for product alloction.
I have tried to do it via transaction recorder, but some screens are missing when I tried to record it.
Could any one please advise if there is any function module that can serve the same purpose? Thanks.

Is that enough to change the technical name in the table RSZCOMPDIR.
Let me give some more information, idea is to change the technical name of all the queries present in a system based on a new naming conventions.
Eg.
Change all the technical name of queries ZQSAP to ZQXYZ.
If there is function module which allows to change the technical name of the queries that not only updates the table RSZCOMPDIR but also all the interlinked tables.

BAPI / FM to update planning hierarchy details

Hi,
I need to update planning hierarchy details. Please suggest.
I see some forums where they say there is no BAPI or FM. I also saw one where it said the BDC did not work.
Have anyone done updation on planning hierarchy details?
I would also like to know if it is a better idea to update the table directly.[For example: if i need to update details in table S350, can i just a update statement on that table].

During the creation of planning hierarchy, after entering the info structure system is generating an error stating that No planning type is maintatined. I don't have much idea on this.. Can any one explain me how to create a planning hierarchy?

We need to have few general orders created on top Functional Locations (monthly) for day to day material postings in that area.
These orders are required to be closed at the end of the month. We need to replicate same set of orders for next month.
So that is the scenerio.
This is an arrangement until we get to the status of positng materials in the very specific equipment work orders.

Periodic Mass Copy Oracle Assets

Hopefully an easy one for you: we have a situation where Depreciation has been run in one of our Tax Books and the period closed, before the Periodic Mass Copy for that period was performed.
Now Periodic Mass Copy doesn't pick up the month that the book is on, only the period prior to it, and hence will not run.
Is there a way to reopen the period in this book. Not looking to re-open GL, just to be able to run Periodic Mass Copy.

Once the period is closed, there is no way you can reopen the period back.
You may need to contact Oracle Support if they have an way out of it.
