  • Re-using planning objects

    Hi SDN friends,
I have an existing implementation configured.
Now, there is a need to customise the loading for new companies.
So, this means existing solution implemented already must not be changed.
I think I will base on existing solution.
Is it possible to create another set of bps customizing based on the existing solution and using the same planning objects? But existing customizing must not be changed or touched.
for example, can i create another planning area using the same planning objects under existing planning area?
    Please advise me, thanks.
    Regards
    Sanjay

    Dear,
if you want to create new one then solution given by Vlad Stulikov  is good.
If you want to used existing objects only and only for reporting purpose, somewhere else, you can go for multiplanning are.
    hope this will help you.

So if any one know the BAPI for this topic please let me know, and if possible send me your code also it will be really help full.

I didn't find a BAPI to do this. I had to do it by a Batch Input.

  • Currency of Base Planning Object, KKE1, CKUC

    Dear all,
I have a question regarding the currency used to valuate base planning object.
The system stores the total value only in what it calls the "local" currency, actually it is the controlling area currency. We need the figures in the company code currency, not just for display, but for recording, because we use the base planning object to plan costs in easy cost planning in PS, and we plan there in the controlling area currency too.
Anybody has an idea how to get the company code currency instead of the conrolling area currency in the master data of the base planning object ?
    Kind regards
    François

    Hello Guido,
I agree with you regarding the object my problem. However, I have not yet found a way to change the currency of the object. I can change the currency of the header in the cost estimates.
However, easy cost planning ECP does not take this into acount when pricing base planning object in PS, it goes for the object price, which is in controlling area currency.
    Kind regards
    François

  • Base plan object costing sheet

    Hi,
Pls advice do v need of creating new costing sheet for base planning object separately.
We used the existing costing sheet that v already have attached to our other pricing variants because there's no difference of OH calculation. But in base plan object, it doesn't calculate the OH automatical using the given costing sheet. This is our first time of using base plan object for our price simulations, pls advice how and what should we do to get solve this prob !!!
    Thanx

    HELLO
IF OH ARE NOT GET CALCULATED , ITS BECAUSE OF YOUR COST SHEET AND NOT OF BASE PLAANING OBJECT .
CHECK THE COST SHEET , HOW AND WHEN IT CALUCULATE OVEHEADS.
BECAUSE BSAE PLANNING OBJECT REQUIRED ONLY COST SHEET ASSIGNEMENT BY MANUALLLY OR BY COSTING VARIANT.
    THANKS

  • Planning objects listing

Is there a table we can view all the Planning objects to see the relationship?
btw, a very junior question. I cannot cut-n-paste from the gui using ctrl-Y, ctrl-C. Is there a setting I am missing? I have checked the gui setting (color tv). Any setting there I should make to enable?
Hope to hear from you. Thanks.
    Pascal

Thanks Hari79! That was very useful program, points awarded. However, I was looking for something that will list the planning objects in tabular form for ease of saving into a spreadsheet.
    Eg.
Planning Area |   Planning Level | Planning Package | Planning Function | Para Grp
Any thing like this exist in BPS? I believe it could be possible since from planning folder maintenance, I can see quite a lot of details displayed tabular form.
But, I do not know what transaction or program does that.
How about a BEx report that does that?
I also like to confirm that there is not cut-n-paste possible in planning folder transactions to copy the technical names etc.
    regards,

  • APO DP - product characteristic in planning object structure

I am using APO DP V5.
In my planning object structure I am using a bespoke characteristic ZPRD for product. I have navigation attributes for this characteristic, which is why I am not using the standard 9AMATNR characteristic. So, in my planning object structure, I assign ZPRD as the product chaarcteristic (via Edit > Assign prod/loc).
I have defined ZPRD as character 40, with conversion routine PRODU - so that it is consistent with 9AMATNR.
In my solution we are integrating APO DP with a SAP ECC system, where of course the product is defined as character 18.
So, my question is: does ZPRD <u>have to be character 40</u> (to be consistent with 9AMATNR), or could I defined it as character 18?
    Thanks,
    Bob Austin, Atos Origin

    HI,
You can define the product out put lengh in customizing setting of APO.
And also this setting is independent of R/3 system.Kindly refer
the following help information on this customizing setting:
'Specify Output Format of Product Number
    Dependencies
Effects on SAP R/3 systems via SAP APO Core Interface (CIF):
The settings made here are independent of the SAP R/3 system and only
influence the conversion of the internal SAP APO display to external SAP
    APO display.
As with conversion of SAP APO data, there is also a similar conversion
of the internal SAP R/3 display to external SAP R/3 display. So that the
numbers also appear immediately on the interface, it is recommended that
you use a corresponding conversion in SAP APO and in SAP R/3.
If the SAP APO is planning for several SAP R/3 systems, it may be
necessary to make the identical numbers from different SAP R/3 systems
unique in SAP APO. It is usual to use a prefix or suffix to do this. In
this case, the internal SAP R/3 display and the internal SAP APO display
are different. The conversion between the internal and external SAP APO
display thus also differs from the conversion in SAP R/3.'
    Hope this will helps you.
    Regards,
    Sunitha.

Is the Business Planning object available to everyone? If so, how do they get enabled?

I'm trying to enter any Planning Object Structure and get the same issue as above.
I have had a look at this link Planning object structure name 9ADPBAS is invalid but the suggestion of activating all BW content doesn't seem to have resolved the issue. I have activated all InfoObjects in the Admin Workbench.
    Any help would be appreciated

  • Planning object structure name 9ADPBAS is invalid

i am trying to access the DP planning book but then it pops up with this error "Planning object structure name 9ADPBAS is invalid".
can anyone tell me as to why is this happening and is there a way to resolve it.
    Thank you in advance.
    suresh garg

    Hi Somnath,
We are on SCM 5.0 and face a similar issue
After the installation the standard MPOS - 9ADPBAS and the Planning Area 9ADP01 are not initialized.
This is even before the custom planning areas and MPOS is transported.
Is there an installation issue here or is it normal for this to remain inactive after the installation ?
I also read a previous note by you on a similar issue ( 9ADPBAS) that said -
Can you check what is the entry against your user name in transaction Assign User to Planning Book (/SAPAPO/SDPPLBK). Make sure that against transaction /SAPAPO/SDP94 the planning book and one of the data views of the planning book are correctly mentioned. If not add the entry and save while exiting. Next time you open Interactive Demand Planning the error should not come.++
This is assuming that the planning book / data view you are trying to access is not linked to Planning Object Strcuture 9ADPBAS "
Is there a way to rectify this while setting up the system ?
    Or
Should we go by setting up the user in the trasaction (/SAPAPO/SDPPLBK)
    Or
    Is there any other option.
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Liz

  • Planning object structure

    Dear friends,
in a new APO system i want to create planning object structure. when i tried to create planning object structure i got an error saying Invalid planning object structure. its just not letting me create POS. pls guide.
    Thanks

    Hi Vinay,
    Please check on the following
    1)  Check the naming convention for the POS that you are creating, like whether it has any special characters etc.,
    2)  Check whether the sap notes 1106607 & 1098568 are relevant for you

  • APO DP - deactivation of a planning object structure

I am using APO DP V5.
When trying to deactivate a planning object structure, I get message /SAPAPO/TSM792, and cannot deactivate.
    Any ideas on this?
    Thanks,
    Bob Austin.

    Hi Bob
Please check whether your planning area (planning area used to POS) is
    linked to consumption group.
If Planning area is linked to consumption group, you might get such a error
    message.
You can check whether your planning area linked to consumption group or not
    in following menu.
    IMG->APO->SCP->DP->Basic Setting->Consumption->Maintain consumption group
if it is related, please cut the link and try to deactivate again
    best regards

  • Characteristics in Planning object structure

    HI,
When we create any Master Planning object structure ( MPOS)we see characteristics at right side of MPOS from where we have to select the required characteristics to left side and then these characteristics would be a part of our MPOS.
My question is from where these characteristics comes from. I looked at RSA1 and it seems they comes from there but some of them comes from unassigned nodes and some from Info providers.
Could any one tell me the logic of the characterists that appears while creating MPOS.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards, Mukesh

    Hello Sujay,
    Thanks for your help.
I just want to understand the differences in characteristics that I see in RSD1 and I see in RSA1 ( assigned and un-assigned nodes both).
In RSD1 do we all characteristis that we see in RSA1.
    Thanks in advance.
