Planning on installing HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless Printer

I have Cisco Network Magic Version 5.5.9195.0-pure0  (base installed on Windows XP (SP2) - ethernet cable connected to a new  Linksys router E2000.
Cable connection (via Comcast) to the internet
Will this HP printer be a good choice (has wireless and Ethernet connectivity) to use on my new home network
Just installed the Linksys E2000 and the Cisco Network magic software.
Do I need to install the HP Officejet Pro 800 pronter drivers on all PC / Laptops in my network (currently 3)
             Thank you,
                       Len ........

HI,
THis looks like a issue with the printer itself as it indeed is a vertical mis. A cartridge issue would cause a horizontal issue. What you can tru is cleaning the carriage rod, the metal bar that you see in the printer, and carefully clean the transparant strip. Do this very carefully as its pretty delicate and if it breaks the unit is ready for trash.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless Printer - A809n.says it's out of ink but has new cartridge

about 6 monhs ago the printer stopped printing stating it was a out of ink (black) after i replaced the cartridge it stopped again after about 10 days. i contacted HP and they basically told me to get a new printer. i decided to try a new cartridge again and reboot etc, etc. it still would work i use my other HP printer before looking to buy another. i read on the internet that this was a frequent problem with the HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless Printer - A809n. and it might be an printhead problem. i replaced the printhead and any low  or outdated ink cartridge. the printer worked perfectly for 4 weeks. now i am having the same problem. this sticks. it is leaving a bad taste . i have been a loyal HP user  i feel HP has made a questionable product and is not standing behind it.

  • My Officejet Pro 8000 wireless printer prints to only 4x5" on 8x11 sheet when printing mult pages

My Officejet Pro 8000 wireless prints to only 4x5 inches on the 8x11 sheet when I try to print multiple pages per sheet from an Adobe file.  The print preview shows the paper dimensions to be 8x11, and the four Adobe pages are properly scaled to fill the 8x11 printed sheet, yet when printing, all the printing is condensed to the upper left quarter of the sheet.

What did it? I was still trying to figure it out

  • Unable to Delete Older Printing Presets -- Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless Printer with OSX v10.6.4

I find that, after upgrading to the latest Officejet Pro 8000 A809 (989005) printer driver, I am not able to delete Presets that were created with earlier versions of the Apple/HP supplied printer driver.  I am using OSX v10.6.4 and v2.0.3 of the HP Printer Driver.
When I try to print from an application the Presets that had been previously created appear on the menu, but 'Delete" is not available as an option for any of those older Presets.
If I create a new Preset, it appears in a section of the menu listing below the Presets created by earlier versions, and the Delete option is available to remove any Presets made with v2.0.3 of the driver.
I would like to delete the earlier Presets, since are no longer necessary given the changes that have been introduced in the latest versions of the HP printer driver.

If you have HP software for pre-10.6 Snow Leopard, you must uninstall the software using the 'scrubber' option.  Also, you do not need the hp software at all - both print and scan drivers are built into the OS.  I'd recommend uninstalling, but make sure to do it this way:
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
    Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Hold the Ctrl, Opt and Cmd keys and click on Uninstall
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click Continue and let it finish
    Restart your Mac
    Now, run a Software Update.
Next, remove and re-install the printer in System Preferences, Print & Fax.
You do not need the software now since Snow Leopard has both print & scan drivers built-in. Scan from Preview or Image Capture apps. Scanning from the front panel of the printer does not yet work.

  • Installing HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless problems

I'm having a problem installing my printer.  When I first installed it I could use it as a local printer (usb wired to my computer) and it printed fine.  I have a laptop and purposely bought the wireless printer so that I could use it with the laptop.  My father came over and tried to hook it up wireless and couldn't get it and now that I've tried to go back and use it wired, it freezes up on me.  It gets an error printing and when I troubleshoot it it says its fixed yet it still won't print.  Also, when i delete the device and try to install it again, it comes up with 2 copies of it installed on my computer.  I am running Windows 7.

Tell me about your network - router brand/model, encryption type (WEP, WPA, etc) and ISP type (DSL, Cable, etc).
Where did you get the software for the printer?

  • Officejet Pro 8000 wireless printer is "not connected."

My Office Jet worked like a dream until I had to change my network settings, specifically my wireless network password.  I reconfigured the printer with the new password, but now whenever I try to print, I get an error message saying the printer is 'not connected.'  If I connect via USB cable, it works fine.
The network configuration printout shows that the printer is connected to the wireless network and the diagnostics (wireless on, wireless working, etc) all read PASS.
    I am using a MacBook.
    Help?

try this on the touchscreen of your printer ...
    - go to "Setup"
    - select "Network"
    - make sure the "Wireless Direct" feature is enabled
I was having the same problem(s) and this solved my issue

  • Any experiences with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless printer?

I'm thinking about buying it after reading the XL black ink cartridges yield 2200 pages. It's not an all in one. I don't need it, already have 2 of them. My Epson CX4800 constantly needs to have the print nozzles cleaned and has banding problems. I can clean them, get them clean, then in the middle of a several page job, it starts banding again or loses a color. How are the HP printers with this problem? All the friends homes that I go to that have HPs seem to print much faster than the Epson I have also. Thanks in advance.

  • Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless printer

I have black ink seeping out below where the printheads are located, on the right of the machine.  The ink cartidges are on the far left of the machine.  The printer works, and I have done all the various print diagnostic/calibrating tests.
Anyone have any idea why, and from where exactly, it is leaking, and is there anything I can do about it myself?  The printer is 4 years old and has worked very well, and is still working.

Changed printheads since black ink spots on printed material.  Worked for a week and now happening again. Any suggestions?

  • Firmware update for HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless to fix load paper issue - as for the 8500?

Is there any hope that that soon will be a firmware update to fix the issues loading paper and the printheads for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless printer?
A month or two ago there came a firmware update to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 wireless, which has some of the same issues,
and allegedly should have the much of the same load-mechanism as the 8000 printer.
It would be great, as we are on the fourth (4) replacement of this HP 8000 printer. For example, it would be great if we could use normal (80g) paper and not has to use (HP) 90g paper, as this prevents us from using the duplexer and only print on one side.

Thanks for the advice to contact HP tech support!
I have tried in multiple ways since November 2009 to contact HP, when I got the first (of 4) printers. The first 3 printers was subsequently replaced.
Finally in late June 2010 I got the message that there was coming an firmware update for Windows, but not for Mac's. The firmware should improve among other things the paper pick up (load paper issue) and the print-heads life.
I have applied the Windows firmware on the printer from a pc, but still seems to have load-paper issues, even using HP Bright White paper, when printing from Mac's. I have not tested the printing from a pc, but assumes that a firmware upgrade the printer, and are not specific to a certain OS.

  • Can't cure a "MSI.BufferChm - Error 1603" problem and install Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless software.

I'm trying to install an HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless A809N. OS = XP Pro SP3. I keep getting a message:
"Fatal error during installation.   [code 1603?]  [error situation code: 27764920]
The older version of BufferChm cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."
I tried all the suggestions on this support page:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02455020&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us
except that in solution two, some of the services wouldn't turn off  due to "Access Denied".
I finally gave up and installed the basic drivers and hoped that once they were installed, I could install the full software. But no dice! How do I fix this "MSI.BufferChm" problem?
    Thanks.

I don't blame the consumer-users in this forum, but when HP advertises the forum so prominently in so many places as one of their "solutions", they should provide employee help here.
I googled and it seems to be a problem for a lot of folks.  And a lot of references back to this forum.  I didn't follow too many of them and didn't spot a solution.  There may be one - I just didn't see it.
This is from Microsoft and has several ideas I didn't see on the HP site.  Microsoft Link  Take a look.  MSI is a microsoft thing, not HP.
As for HP employees, there are some that monitor this group unofficially.  Hopefully you'll get some attention now.  Or at least from some of the other folks who may have even more computer fixit experience.

  • Printing to hp officejet pro 8000 wireless

After my 10-year-old DeskJet was incinerated by lightning, I purchased an HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless. Now I cannot print CD inserts; the driver says the printer is offline. However, I can then successfully print a Word document, for example, without making any changes.

    Hi there,
On the IOS system, if you have e-print installed you have two options for printing wirelessly - through e-Print or AirPrint.
To print from AirPrint (which comes pre-installed on apple devices) , you take the route that you have outlined - if no wireless printer is found then there has been a problem during setup that you should be able to fix with the help of the AirPrint troubleshhoting steps below:
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-topics/mobile-printing/mobile-print-help-iphone-ipad.html
If the e-Print app is installed you also have the option to print using the e-Print app. The route to printing here involves opening the appa nd selecting the content that you want to print. You'll still need to be able to find your wireless printer so if you have any issues, the troubleshooting guide below shoudl help:

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless, Mac OS 10.7.2 can't get it set up to run wireless

I have an iMac, OS 10.7.2, Airport Extreme router, and an HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless.  I recently replaced my router with an Airport Extreme.  My printer setup CD is for OS 10.4 or 10.5.  I'm trying to setup the 8000 wirelessly but without much luck.  As I understand it, the HP 8000 setup is now included in OS 10.7.  I followed some of the items from another post on this topic with OS 10.6.  Somehow I can't seem to get to the place were the printer install asks me to choose a network.  I have updated all of the software, setup a printer connected with a USB cable.
    This question was solved.

I figured this out (with some help from the Print Doc on "Is there driver for Deskjet 3050 for Mac OSX 10.7).  Once I stopped thinking like the Mac OS 10.6 approach with an hp utility things were easy.
    - delete any previously set up printers
    - scrub the old hp software
    - remove the usb cable from the printer if you have one connected
    - reset the printer network to hpsetup (press power button, network button 2x, cancel 3x, release power)
    - print out the wireless network test report (press network button and update button 2x). verify ssid is hsetup
    - change the mac wireless network to hpsetup
    - go to the sys pref > print scan
    - add the 8000 printer
    - click on the options and supplies and go to the printer webpage
    - use the network wizard and change the network from hpsetup to your network
    - finish
    - go back to the sys prefs and change the network to your network
    - go to the printer and print out the wireless network test report (press network button and update button 2x).  Check that the SSID is your network
    - try printing something to your printer.  It might take a little time the first print.
