Planning on Product group level

Hi,
We want to do forecast on the product group level.We have created 5 product groups and under each product group there are about 50 materials.Now for flexible planning I have created a infostructure with characteristics Product grp/Material and plant.
Can anyone help me out how i can do the plannig on different product groups with same infostructure.

Please find the below steps for flexible planning.
1.create a infostructrue with characteristics & key figures-MC21
2.Create a planning paramerters-MC7F
3.Create a planning type-MC8A
4.Create a product group-MC84/MM01
5.Create a Planning hirerachy-MC61
6.Create a plan using MC93
and regarding your issue you have to create a planning hierarchy .Once the planning hierarchy is done the data is avalible to create a plan

You can define your various hierarchies of planning in SNP through Master planning object structures. (/SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN - Administration of Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning )

Aggregate planning to support Product Group/Material/SKU 3-level ?

Hello Everyone,
For the AFS and APO integration, we want to have planning run on Product group, Material and SKU.
I know the standard AFS and APO integration will support aggregate planning on Material and SKU level. Will it be able to run SNP aggregate planning on Product group/Material level?

Dear Bin thanks for clarifying
You can try the below two options if its only for a reporting purpose and no capacity planning has to happen at that level.
1. THRU ABAP: Maintian the Product group in the Product attribute field in the Extra tab of the product master and then a Report can be developed through ABAP which can pick the capacity available to consumed by different product groups. As it will already have the product wise capacity consumed it will be easy to map it for the ABAP person using Product group info. From product attribute tab.
OR
2. IN the MPOS of your linked planning area maintain in the char attributes the Product attribute field 1.
By this when you load the capacity view for a particular you can detail all it Product attribute wise too like product wise.
As you will have maintained Product attribute as Product groups you will have the capacity consumed by each product group.
I havent tried 2nd option myself but i am certain to quite an extent it will work.

SOP for product group

Hi experts,
I have a problem transferring planed Sales quantities by product groups to SOP.
I did steps:
1.     Planned sales quantities by material, KEPM.
2.     Created product group with members material, MC84
3.     Transferred planned sales quantities to SOP into inactive version, KE1E
I can see or change SOP for material (MC88, MC89), but plan for product group is empty (MC82, MC83)!!!! Iu2019ve tried to create sales plan for product group transferring it from COPA (MC82), but it doesnu2019t work. Accordingly Break down PG plan (MC76) doesnu2019t work because plan for product group is empty and there is nothing to distribute.
4.     Iu2019ve checked planning type SOPKAPA for info structure S076. Structure row Sales has Aggregation method Total created. Iu2019ve tried to change planning type SOPKAPA, e.g. inserted new structure row. But for product group plan I see the same view, I mean there is no new structure row. Is it possible, that plan for product group used another planning type not SOPKAPA?
The main question is u2013 how to aggregate/ sum planned sales quantities for product group?

I guess,you know the limitations while transferring COPA plan data to SOP in PP module.
however,let me repeat 1.Unit of measure maintained in COPA module and PP module should be same.
further,2.You can transfer planning data to SOP at the product level or the product group level. If you want to plan and transfer data at the product group level, you need to create a characteristic (or characteristics) to represent the product group levels in SOP when you maintain your operating concern. Since in SOP product groups are stored as products in the database, make sure the characteristic you create for the product group has the same type and length as the characteristic "Product" (CHAR 18).
Kindly check these two limitations.

APO DP: Disaggregation to product&plant level from higher levels.

Hi.
We do demand planning on groups of products and for country/region in general, we have around 48.000 CVC's in our current setup. It works very well.
A new situation has arisen where we need to have the forecast split down to product and plant level.
As is we simply don't have the information at this level of granularity.
I don't see how we can add for instance product to our setup, we have around 20.000 products so the number of CVC's in DP would become massive if we did this.
I was thinking that perhaps something could be done by exporting the relevant key figures to a new DP setup with fewer characteristics (to keep the number of CVC's down) via some infocubes, perhaps some disaggregation could be done via some tables and the BW update rules. This still leaves the issue of how to get the figures properly disaggregated to plant and product though.
Does anyone have experiences on how to get the figures split to lower levels from DP when you're planning on a higher level?

One approach as you mentioned can be creating Z Table where in you set up disaggregation proportion from product group level to product level or product location level.
Product Group X 100 Product A@loc1 10
Product B@loc1 90
Download your planning area data into infocube C and then use BW routines to convert the data from group in infocube C to lower level refereing Z Table....into another infocube..
SAP also provides such standard functionality of spliting the aggregate Demand plan to detailed level
SNP plan..through functionality like location slit or product split.
Essential you will be using same concept in yor BW solution or you may also want to consider the
release your DP to SNP planning area its as solution of diaggregation of data to lower level.

Multi level Product group reg.

i am having BOM levels A->B->C , in the A materials group i have 5000 materials ,i want to take all these under a product group. Also in B materials group i have 5000 materials
how create multi level product groups taking materials as members in a product group.
One more point regarding the product group is how many materials we can add as members under a product group.

follow the menu path
Edit >selection list>parameter
in the selection list parameter screen...enter the material group A and enter
system will give all the list of materials with material grouop A and select all and copy...system will get all the materials into product group...
repeat it for B and C.

Planning at cost element group level

Is it possible to plan values at cost element group level instead of at cost element level in CCA?

Yes it is possible. In t-code-KP06 Cost Center/Activity Input planning, we can select input values in the combination of individual Cost Center-wise OR Cost Center Group-wise and individual Cost Element-wise OR Cost Element-wise. Here if you give Cost Element Group as your input value, you can plan cost for each Cost Element.

Planning Item - Account Group

Dear Members,
I am looking at planning against a summarized level of GL Accounts, which is higher than the Group Account level. However, the BCS team will be consolidating data at the Group Account level. I may also need to load BPS data into BCS to run consolidations on it.
Can you please provide me with the approach/process I can take to ensure that at a summarized level, our Plan/Actual reporting will align even though I will not be planning to the same level as our Actuals and BCS?
Was a multiprovider used? Planning Item - 0SEM_POSIT characteristic added to the cubes? or was planning just done for 1 GL Account per node? etc.

With regard to the implementation I believe you would go through the following ASAP mehtodology stages
Requirements collection with regard to Planning/Reporting
Business Blueprint (mapping the requirements to the content available and to be customised)
Realisation (wherein you would be actually activating/developing the modeling components and testing the same)
Final Preparation (Preparing the production system before go live)
Go Live with the implementation
With regard to BCS and BPS Planning item, I believe if you would like to use planning you would rather be using the BPS planning item, the BCS item should be more oriented towards consolidation of business data.

I am using product groups in SOP as well as in the normal plannning scenario.In the normal planning scenario I am giving my PIR's in MD61 for the entire group.Then I am running MRP in MD02 for my product group.System is generating all the requirements normally for the entire group .
Please suggest me , this process is correct or it will create any problem in any module .

Product Group capacity can not be seen in MF50 output

Dear All,
I can not see the product group in 'total capacity' subscreen in output of planning table MF50.
In MF50 the input parameter i am entering is product group and plant.
In the scheduling tab of input parameters detailed scheduling and capacity planning is tick.
For some product groups i can see in output as "Product Groups / Total Capacity" and also in the rows below it shows "Prod.Grp XYZ" then requirement and available quantity rows. After which the production line rows follows.
For some product groups when enter in initial selection screen of MF50 with same input parameters in output i do not see Product group but i can see "Total Capacity Data" and then the rows starts with production lines. But no information on capacity of product group.
The setup of all product group is same and are created with MM01.

In 'Control Tab' i am not selecting any parameter. So in output i can see all materials in 'Material Data' section which are included in product group irrespective of requirements.
I have issue in upper half section of 'Total Capacity Data'. I can see the different production line rows with Requirement / Available rows with capacity values in each period. Unit is %.
But i do not see 1st row for Product group row with 2 subsequent rows (requirement / available) with unit KG.
I can see these rows only for some product groups but not for all.
For the product groups for which i do not see these rows have capacity requirement in selected periods which can be seen in same output in production lines rows. (where selection in input screen is product group and plant)

Can a same member be in two product group?

Can we plan for a member which is part of two Product group. Right now I see when transfer demand from Second PG, the calculations and PIR out of first PG is getting overwritten. My requirement is to add to existing PIR rather than overwriting it. Is it possible?

I think you're confusing Albums and Projects.
each time i connect my camera to the laptop, i import the photos to a new album,
No you don't. You can't import to an Album, you import to a Project. A Project has a Box like icon. Projects are a reflection of the organisation if the originals on the HD. Move a shot from one project to another and the file moves too. You cannot have a photo in more than one project +without duplicating the file+.
Albums, on the other hand, have an icon like a Blue Book. You can have Albums that refer within a single project and Albums that refer all over the Library. Create an album (File -> New -> Album) and drag the images you want to it. The Files remain in their respective projects and are simply linked to the Album. Photos can be in 100's of Albums with no duplication.
I have previously created an album called 'the best shots of 2010',i now want to add some photos to this album
Use ratings and a Smart Album and do this automatically.

How to map Product Group for the Materials in BW.

Hi All,
We have an requirement for one of the report called as Progress validation Report.
We have to craete thsi repotr which would pulll out Inventory value, Production Plan value, Total Lates, Current week deliveries and WIP for a quarter.
Cube whihc provides details about production plan has data by Material, plant and product group wise.
But rest of the cube from which we extract the key figures does not have data by Product grop wise.
Product group is been picked from PGMI table in R/3.
How I can related the materials which are in other cube to the respective Product group.
Material and the relevant prdoct group data doesnot flows in BW.
There is even a scenario where ahve seen a material falls under 2 product groups..
PLease guide as how i can realted already existing materials in the Cube to the product group.

Hi,
Product Group is master data for material master. It is part of Matreial Clssification data in R/3.
Please check if you are having the same already loaded as attribute of Material master. I guess it will be there, if it s not there then you should try to load the same in material master object which you are using in all the cubes.
If the maintinenece in master data is nopt possible then you got to populate the same in cube.
There will be a combination of keys (materail/plant/prduct family etc.. ( for which Product group will be unique). then load product with the help of these key combinations in all the cubes via update routine.
There is one more way to have this but which is performance intensive.
You may create one master data object called Product Group and keep material number as attribute (with compunding all other key fileds to get the unique combination). Then you may create an infoset using cubes and this master data object. Join the materail numbers in all. Display this object in report.

I have created a product group heirarcy in SOP. I want to view the the complete heirarchy in a report format. I do not want to use a graphical output like MC91/MC92. I need something like multi level BOM structure on Prod G heirarcy but not in a graphical format.

Are you working in an SAP version ECC 5.0 or 6.0?Then follow these steps.
1.Create a material using material type PROD in MM01.
2.Assign the materials to the product group in MC86.
3.Create a plan for this product group in MC81 for an inactive version.
4.Disaggregate the plan or create a production plan in MC76 for the same inactive version.
5.Transfer the requirement's to demand management in MC76 from inactive version to active version 00.
Check and revert back.

Production Report using Product groups.

Hi PP Gurus,
We want to develop one Production report that will include Product group.
We are using single level Product groups. Say PG= XYZ and PG members are A, B, C, & D. Since REM without RP and with daily confirmation being used we'll sort the results through MSEG table after passing MBLNR and MJHR from table MKPF using Movement types 131 (that will exclude Reversal quantity i.e through Movement type 132).
My requirement is to bring Product group in production report that will club above mentioned materials.
If anybody already worked on such requirement, please help me out.

Since REM without RP I'm using no need of AFKO table.
Used logic as below:
Taking BLPK-BUDAT as input:
1. Select PGMI-PRGR, PGMI-WERKS to get PGMI-NRMIT.
PGMI-NRMIT = BLPK-MATNR to get BLPK-PRTNR.
BLPK-PRTNR = BLPP-PRTNR to get BLPP-MBLNR.
BLPP-MBLNR = MSEG-MBLNR, MSEG=MJHAR to get MSEG=ERFMG
Sort through MSEG-BWART = 131 negative 132.
2. Select PGMI-PRGRP, PGMI-WERKS to get PGMI-NRMIT.
PGMI-NRMIT = BLPK-MATNR to get BLPK-MENGE.
Sort through BLPK-VAART (B) negative BLPK-VAART (S); donu2019t select BLPK-VAART (BS).
Addition of BLPK-MATNR corresponding to BLPK-BUDAT entered.
Both logic are working.
