Hi All,
I need some help in setting up the system for below requirement :
1.When i am running my planning run at DC 1st I need to consider available stock at my Warehouse ( STO) and then create a PO for Vendor to fulfill any remaining demand .
2.While checking the stock at warehouse i need to check for Main product Stock and then check for Substitute Product stock as well before creating PO
Your valuable suggestions greatly appreciated for Prob1 or Both

• Cutting stock (mill_cut transaction) for vendor consignment

Dears,
We encountered a business process: cutting stock vendor consignment (special stock indicator: K)
Meaning that 1 had a big batch, and it should be cut into smaller batches.
In standard sap, there's a transaction called "mill_cut": cutting stock transfer.
We are using it to cut the normal stock without any problem. Any one have ideas that if standard sap also support the mill_cut for vendor consignment stock?
Underneath the mill_cut transaction, the configuration is movement type 309. (material to material movement).

• Planning Strategies 10 and 40 with Stock Transfer Orders for consuming PIRs

Hello,
I have the following situation in a Client:
One Production Plant (1000)
There exist various Plants to sell products.
The production Plan (PIRs) I create in Plant 1000 (MD61). Monthly buckets.
The planiing strategy I want to use is 40 or maybe 10 (both to Stock).
Consumption of the materials in plant 1000 is via:
1. Stock transfer orders to other plants (with Shipping funcionality) (about 80% of the shipping form plant 1000)
2. Sales Ordes with shipping (10%)
3. Transfer postings from one plant to another (303 - 305 movement type) (10%)
How can I make sure that all these outgoing movements from plant 1000 do consume my forecast? Is this standard funcionality.
Thanks for any reply,
Aart

Hello Mario,
Thanks for your answer. I looked at the note but Im not sure it does apply in our situation.
Let me explain our situation maybe more clearly:
I want to create a monthly Forecast (MD61) with PIRs for Production Plant 1000. (Planining strategy 10)
The stock created in plant 1000, on the basis of this forecast is consumed during the month by:
1. Stock Transfer Orders (from plant 1000 to plant X) - (for 95%)
2. Sales orders (directly) (5%)
The STOs should not be on top of the PIR but should be part of the PIR.
For your information, the stock which is moved from plant 1000 to plant X via STOs, is sold at plant X (not directly at plant 1000).
this stock sold monthly at plant X however, is considered withing the forecast!
I hope this clarifies our situation a bit more.
Thanks for any anwer,
Bye

• MRP consider other plant inventory before procuring from vendor

Hello All,
Is it possible to have standard R/3 (5.0) consider inventory of other plants before creating a schedule line to procure from a vendor?
Example: We have inventory in two plants.
In plant 1000,
requirements of 500 pieces
inventory of 100 pieces
In plant 2000,
requirements of 50
inventory of 200 pieces
In plant 1000, I would like the MRP result to create a stock transfer requirement of 150 from plant 2000 and then a schedule line from a vendor of 250 pieces.
Is this possible? If so any suggestions on how to setup my plants/materials?
Thank you,
Jerry

Hi,
If Plant 1000 regularly receives supplies from Plant 2000 apart from the Vendor, I think it would better if you can maintain Special Procurement Type (Ref SPT 40) for transfer from 2000 to 1000. Then maintain Quota between Plant and Vendor (MEQ1).
However if your scenario is such that stock transfer reqmt should get generated only if when there is surplus inventory at Plant 2000, I am not sure if this can be achieved in Std R/3.

• Stock Pegging Report for Vendor Stock in Subcontractor scenario

Hello all,
As we know, CTM pegs the component inventory available with subcontractor when the parent FG demand drops in. Now, my requirement is can we extract a report that can give the details of all demands that are pegged to the stock?
1. This report should be run in batch after CTM such that it extracts a snapshot of all demands pegged to inventory of components under "vendor stock".
2. This report will give a clear picture to the supply planners about the inventory that is not pegged any demands and can take appropriate action as necessary if there are demands directly for the components.
3. The report should be available in a tabular form listing each of the coomponent materail and the quantity that is pegged and quantity that is not pegged.
If any of you have worked on generating such report earlier or have any ideas to extract such a report, it will be highly appreciated. If my question is not clear and needs further explanation, please let me know. I can describe with examples and numbers.
Thanks,
Chandra

Hi Chandra,
The closest report in terms of various building blocks (table, structure, FMs etc.) is /SAPAPO/DM_PEGKEY_REORG.
The inspiration can be taken from this report and a new report with ALV Grid can be bulit.

• Companyu2019s own special stock for vendors

Dear guru.
I need to use a special stock valuated for materials not located in our company provided to vendor.
I donu2019t want to use stock O because I use that for subcontracting.
I donu2019t pay the vendor for managing this stock so I canu2019t use special stock K.
Which special stock can I use ? Can I use special stock W also for vendors ?
Thanks.

Hi,
Normally you will be providing the material to vendors for subcontracting purpose.I do not think so that there is a stock indicator for just keeping the material with vendor.
But on what purpose you will be providing the material to vendor? Only for stock keeping purpose? Will you be paying any holding costs for the same?

• Stock Placement during Return Delivery in Ware house

Hi All,
We have a scenario where client while returning the material to ware house want to place it in different bin. Currently the process is carried out through LT0G but here system is proposing the destination bin (original bin) as the same bin from where the batch stock is picked. Now due to some unavoidable reason before PGI user wants to unload the batch stock and place is it different bin. For this purpose currently we are first confirming the Transfer order created for return of batch stock to original bin and again creating a new TO to place the material from original bin to new destination bin. how can we avaiod cration of this extra Transfer order.
BR
Mukesh

LT0G provides the option to place the stock in a different bin than it came from, this is even he usual way in our warehouses since the bin where the material was picked from is again occupied by other stock.
The TOs are actually evidence, they shall usually reflect the physical movements in a warehouse.
if you have already moved your material out of its original bin, then you need another TO to get it back or into any other bin. TOs are not even just an evidence, they are instructions, they are the communication method to instruct a warehouse worker to do something. So you should not try to avoid this important step.

• Safety stock not covered by schedule lines in planning run

Hi !
In our organization we are trying to implement scheduling agreements and automatic creation of delivery schedule lines through MRP. We have MRP type PD and it considers the reservations created by PM orders and Production orders as requirement elements. When I do the planning run, it creates schedule lines for the PM order reservations and purchase requisition for safety stock. I need it to create schedule lines for all scenarios. Kindly help and suggest a solution.

hi all,
i moved the the stock within the warehouse(bin to bin).my client requirement is move the stock from one ware house to another warehouse in same plant /storage location. so i need the configuration steps for that.
appreciate your help always,
yours
muthuraman.d

Hi
Hope you are using different storage location for different warehouse within same plant.
Use Movement type 311 - Location to location stock transfer to transfer the material from one warehouse to another ware house.
Make the Auto TO enable at the movement type level so that system will generate the TO automatically when you do the transfer posting. Also possible to confirm the TO autmatically at movement type level.
Hope it helps.

• Can system consider the unrestricted stock when planned with MD50???

Hi,
We have scinerio where FERT with Strategy 20 (MTO Process) is planned with MD50 against the sale oder. Every time Dependent items stock needs to be posted with Movement type 412E against that sale order or else dependent items stock though available in unrestricted is shown as unable against that sale order no. Enitre cost of the FERT material is accounted against sale order number.
Can we avoid posting of sales order stock?? can we make system to consider the unrestricted stock when planned with MD50.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
John

if u want to consume the unrestricted stock, why u implemented MTO??
what was the requirement to implement MTO, when u r asking such question in support............

• Exclude stock at a storage location from the Productionn Planning run

Hi,
We have to exclude a storage location from the Production Planning run. We already implemented a user exit in CIF and changed the stock at the storage location to a category Z1 that is not relavant to SAP, but the stock at the location is still being consitered for production planning.
Please suggest a way so that it is excluded from the Production planning
Regards,
Sireesh

Hi Sireesh,
Please try these following options.
1) Filter this storage location in the programme /SAPAPO/RMSDPDEP by writing customised code with an abapper, so that it will drops the storage location stocks not getting planned during deployment
2) Try anyof these user exists
APOBP011 Enhancement for Stock BAPIs (BUS10504)
APOCF011 Inbound Processing: Stock
APOCF027 Customer-Specific Enhancements: Stock
3) Exclude the category from the ATD receipts category group maintained in the master data

• Issues in Planning Run

Hi Experts
I am facing the following problems in PPDS
1)How to align the backward logic in PPDS with our practice to minimum stock balance.
2) Some production plan set in SCM is getting advanced to previous week automatically before production orders are generated.
Please give your sugesstions on above issues.
Regards
Rave

Hi Rave,
Please be specific and descriptive when you post your questions.
1. 1)How to align the backward logic in PPDS with our practice to minimum stock balance.
Any planing run tries to create equal amount of receipt for an order. I guess you are more talking about maintaining the right lot sizes to make sure that the receipts are not bigger than the requirements. Try using Lot size grouping by days with day or week interval. Lot for Lot and Fixed and both end up in creating more order qty. than the requirement. Also try the PPDS heurisitc MRP with shelf life that would consider shelf life of products. What works and what does not really depends on your business and there is not really a general rule.
2) Some production plan set in SCM is getting advanced to previous week automatically before production orders are generated.
I don't understand what you are talking about. Please describe your issue. One of us here may be able to help.
Thanks.

• Frequency of Planning Run ?

Hi Experts,
I have a query with respect to the frequency of planning run in APO SNP..
1. If i receive forecast from DP once a month, shoud the frequency of SNP planning run should also be month ?? What all conditions should prompt me to take the SNP planning run on weekly basis inspite of getting the forecast from DP once a month ??
2. If i take SNP planning run monthly, then what should be the frequency of Deployment and TLB runs..?? What factors should be considered before deciding on the frequency of deployment and TLB runs..?
Your inputs would be highly helpful in deciding on the frequecy of plng runs in my project..
Thanks & Regards,
Krishna

Hi Krishna,
The frequency of your planning run will depend on the type of ur network. You havent given any details of ur network(the Supply chain) over which the SNP run will happen.
SO, let me assume that you r dealing with a Customer,DC and Factory, basically 3-level N/W.
Now, u r releasing demand from DP once a month and that forecast is on the Customer level, then the main factor is that whether you have any business process of capturing the sales from the Customer level. If you have that, then in which frequency?
If you can decide upon the frequency of the Sales updation from the Customer level, then we come to a scenario where the Customer requirement on the next level(D.C) is getting changed depending on the frequency of the Stock updation at the customer.
If the scenario is some sort of this, then ur SNP run should be in parallel with the frequency of the Stock/Sales updation at the customer level, because fresh requirement should flow to the lower level(D.C).
This can be one factor to decide ur frequency of ur SNP run. Like this, there may be many depending upon various Business Scenarios and Ur Supply Chain.
Now, coming to the Deployment and TLB run frequency, the main point of decision will come after gathering the business requirements. The frequency of TLB can be dependent on:
a) Stock holding capacity of ur source location--if there is a scenario that ur source location is not capable of holding stocks, then the frequency of ur TLB run should increase in order to Push the Stock to the next level.
b)Suppose you have found that, the demand of one of ur D.C is very less for a month. In that case u can run Depl and Tlb for it in lesser frequency in respect to other D.C whose demand may be much more.
So in a nutshell, Ur Deployment and TLb should depend on ur Business Scenario, the Products( fast moving, medium moving..), Capacity Constraints of ur factories, ur Parameters for ur modes of transport.
I hope i am able to clarify queries to some extent.
Regards
Sunshine
