Planning Strategies to Stock - Consuming the forecast (PIRs)

Hello,
I want to use planning strategies 10 or 40 (to Stock) but I have a doubt about the funcionality of "Consuming Forecast"
What happens in strategy 40 or 10 when the sales orders/Goods Issues will not consume the total forecast in a specific month (PIRs) ?
What happens to the PIR of that month?
How does this effect the planiing funcionality in the upcoming months?
Thanks for any reply,
Aart

Hi,
The consumption of the PIRs is controlled by definition in MRP View of the consumption logic.
There you can say if it consumes in the past and/or future, and how long into each direction.
Unconsumed PIRs in the past need to be adjusted (there's a transaction for that).
Since both 10 and 40 are MTS, so if at the end of the month there are PIRs left that were not consumed, normally you should have the relevant quantity against that plan as stock. So, as I said, you adjust the unconsumed PIRs, and the stock is carried to the next period, and covers (in part) the next month's PIR (plan), and so on.
This way, if you sold less than was planned, but produced it to stock, it is not wasted, but will be used to produce less in the following periods.

  • Consuming Forecast PIR (MD61) with Stock transfer Orders

    Hello,
We have a Production Plant 1000 in which we load the sales forecast as PIRs (MD61) (we use strategy 10)
    We sell from Plant 1xxx.
After production in plant 1000, we use Stock Transfer Orders to transfer the production stock to Plant 1xxx
From plant 1xxx we ship to out customer (normal sales process with shipping).
The problem we are facing is the following:
The stock Transfer Orders (STO)during a month do NOT consume the forecast loaded in plant 1000! There is no asignment to PIRs!
If I create a regular sales order in plant 1000 (which is not our normal process!), the Sales order quantity is automatically asigned to the PIRs to consume the forecast.
The same thing we want to acomplish with STOs.
I looked at Requirements Type  KSL with Requirements Class 030 (from the strategy 10) but I can not make out were to manipulate it so it will work in our specific situation.
Anyone has done this before or had a similar situation? How did they solve it?
Thanks for any help on this one.
    Aart

    Aart,
I would assume your STO is created in plant 1XXX. So that would create a dependent requirement/reservation on plant1000.
Since PIR is in plant 1000, it should consume your PIR by using consumption indicator 3 (Consume customer reqmts, reserv., dependent reqmts).
You may not have to use consumption ind 4 ( using BADI). Hope this helps too.
Else Brahmankar's solution is the last resort.
    Thanks,

  • Planning strategy 50 consume the STO forecast

    Hi All,
I have a scenerio of stock transfer demand from regional plant to production plant.
The palnning strategy is s et to 50 in the production plant. The requirement is the STO of the regional plant should consume the forecast in the production plant. How can this to be done.
    Thanks
    Chindam

    Hi,
For consumption of PIR by STO requirements you will have to activate the BADi MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS.
When you create a PIR via MD61 in the Items tab specify the CI (Consumption indicator) as 4.
If you want to get this by default then you will have to make changes in OMP6 for requirement class 103. But would suggest making a copy of 103 & then using the modified custom requirement class in a copy of standard strategy group 50.

  • Planning Bill of Material to explode forecast in ASCP 11i.10 .

I like to know if in addition to product familly and model bill of material , the planning bill of material can be used to explode forecast to lower levels and through several levels optionally in ASCP 11i.10 ?

Yes, Planning items and related BOM structures should be supported in 11i10 ASCP. The process is fundamentally the same as it is for Model items.
A key consideration is how you want to consume the resulting forecasts. Planning items are never entered on sales orders, so you will be consuming forecast at the component level below, which are typically models.
You may also want to consider product family relationships for these items. You can consume the forecast at that level and then explode to the lower level items.
For true subassemblies or component forecasting, it is often better to use safety stock in the short term and use a demand time fence to drop the forecast for product family members during that period.

  • Planned Order for stock and planned order for customer requirement

    Hello everybody
I want to make a different, in MD04,   between the planned order for stock and the planned order created for a customer requirement
    Thank for your help

    Hi,
True planned order are generated for both the cases but the planned order generated for sales order will have sales order number in the below column and for stock will show independent requirement. Mainly no sales order reference will be there for make to stock scenario.
    Hope it will help.

  • Planning Strategies 10 and 40 with Stock Transfer Orders for consuming PIRs

    Hello,
I have the following situation in a Client:
    One Production Plant (1000)
There exist various Plants  to sell products.
The production Plan (PIRs) I create in Plant 1000 (MD61). Monthly buckets.
The planiing strategy I want to use is 40  or maybe 10 (both to Stock).
Consumption of the materials in plant 1000 is via:
    1. Stock transfer orders to other plants (with Shipping funcionality)   (about 80% of the shipping form plant 1000)
    2. Sales Ordes with shipping   (10%)
    3. Transfer postings from one plant to another (303 - 305 movement type) (10%)
How can I make sure that all these outgoing movements from plant 1000 do consume my forecast? Is this standard funcionality.
    Thanks for any reply,
    Aart

    Hello Mario,
Thanks for your answer. I looked at the note but Im not sure it does apply in our situation.
Let me explain our situation maybe more clearly:
I want to create a monthly Forecast (MD61) with PIRs for Production Plant 1000. (Planining strategy 10)
The stock created in plant 1000, on the basis of this forecast is consumed during the month by:
    1. Stock Transfer Orders (from plant 1000 to plant X) - (for 95%)
    2. Sales orders (directly) (5%)
The STOs should not be on top of the PIR but should be part of the PIR.
For your information, the stock which is moved from plant 1000 to plant X via STOs, is sold at plant X (not directly at plant 1000).
this stock sold monthly at plant X however, is considered withing the forecast!
I hope this clarifies  our situation a bit more.
    Thanks for any anwer,
    Bye

  • STO Reservation consumes the PIR or NOT

    Hi,
One HALB material has a PIR of 10 qty in PLANT B and also
receives the STOC of 5 QTY  from Plant A.
IF I run the MRP for PLANT B, i'm getting planned order for 15 Qty.
But my aim is Stoc . trasport order should consumes the PIR and It  should throw the Planned order for 5 qty.
    This is possible or not.
    Please guide me.
    Regards
    Chandru

    Hi,
But my aim is Stoc . trasport order should consumes the PIR and It should throw the Planned order for 5 qty.
It depends on strategy what you have used in the HALB of plant B.
During MRP run system will do net requirement calculation.ie,
Plant stock + firmed receipts - safety stock - requirement qty = Available stock.
If it is negative system create procurement proposal.
    For yours 0 + 5 - 10 = -5
So system should create planned order for 5 no's.
But you are getting 15 no's, so check in lot size & safety stock. Remove MRP group in material master.

  • How can I set up MRP to use QI Stock at the Vendor, for Planned Ind Reqmts

    Hi experts,
    We are running ECC 6.0.
In one of our plants, we have a lot of components that are available as QI stock in Material Provided to Vendor status.
We build SKUs (MRP type M3) at the top level in the BOM, and the SKUs use the above components. We mostly enter demand at the SKU level in the plant (LSF).
We have set up the source list for all the SKUs in this plant with MRP = 1.
When MRP runs for the components (MRP type PD), system is able to first allocate the QI stock to any of the requirements that are driven by the higher level SKUs. Only then, it creates Planned Orders for the components to account for the shortage.
Issue : We now enter forecast (LSF) directly at the Component level  (for some Materials). Now, even though we have excess
component stock to handle all the demand (dependant demand driven from the SKUs + LSF at the Component level), system doesn't allocate the excess QI stock to the LSF demand at the component level. It just creates Planned orders.
Strategy Group for both the SKU and Component is 10. We don't have MRP Areas implemented.
I tried setting up the source list at the Component level using the vendor but there is no use.
Does any one have an idea on how this can be addressed? We want to be able to use up the QI stock first before we create Planned orders.
    Thanks,
    Rao

How can you create QI stock first before your planed order from MRP run? Do you know this is not standard SAP ?

  • How to get the PLANNING SHORTAGE in the forecast tab of /sapapo/rrp3?

  • Movement type to consume customer consignment stock in the delivery plant ?

Need MM Functional expertise help to resolve the issue
    They are two plants associated
    1. Deliverying Plant (Customer Consignment Stock) ---> FPP
    2. Recieving Plant (Vendor Consignment Stock) ---> FNT
Recieving Plant (FNT) will send a consignment Purchase Order (P0) to the delivery plant (FPP), which
inturn delivery plant FPP will do post goods Issue (PGI) with movement type 635 {635 --> moves
    the stock from sloc 1000 to customer consignment stock}
Once movement type 635 is completed, it will go customer consignment stock in the delivery plant FPP
    So Far OK..
Recieving plant (FNT) will recieve the stock against movement type 101K into Consignment location, followed
by movement type 411k (to move the stock from consignment location to OWN location).  Once its under OWN location,
the inventory can be utilized for service orders (261)
    Issue:
Not able to find a movement type to consume customer consignment stock in the delivery plant FPP
Note: 1. 411k is used to consume vendor consignment stock
    2. Both plants are in different company codes
Following OSS notes has been checked, but none is addressing the issue
    1. 520024
    2. 610896
    3. 362032
    4. 13006

Customer consignment stock is consumed physically by a customer, the customer reports to you how much he has consumed, the delivering plant creates then a consignment order for consignment issue in the delivering plant, followed by converting it to a delivery and posting goods issue.

  • How to reflect consignment stock in the planning book

    Hi
I have an issue were I am trying to pull through unrestricted consignment stock to the SNP planning book.
I am only able to view the unrestricted stock, and not the unrestricted consignment stock when I am working in the planning book.
However I am able to see the unrestricted consignment stock in the Product View in APO
    (/SAPAPO/RRP3 - Product View).
The key figure we use to reflect physical stock is ATD Receipts in the planning book.
I have included the category type CD in the category group ATR, which is assigned to this key figure ATD Receipts
Please can you assist me with this issue.
    Thanx in advance
    Keegan

    Keegan
It is not enough if you associate the category group with the key figure used to display stock. Go to the location for which you are trying to display stock and in the SNP tab stock category group field give this category group. It should work.
The opening stock gets displayed based on the category group assigned in the location master and if the category group in loc master is blank then all stock categories in the default category group ST1 will get displayed
    Thanks

  • Requirement type to consume customer forecast after sales order PGI

    Hi,
We have a requirement wherein we need to consume forecast after Goods PGi. When Sales Order is created the forecast should not be consume.
We have tried strategy 10 with KSL as requirement tyoe but it does not consume forecast at all even after PGI.
Is there any requirement type we can use?
    Thank you,
    Raymond

So you are using 40, not 10! When you have a group of strategies, the main is used as a default. To use the others you need to do things in the PIR definition and in the sales order.
I suggest that you go to a QA system first, either create a new material with only strategy 10, or take a existing material, delete all the planning and sales orders, and change strategy to 10.
Then go through a full cycle of the process, create PIR, procure & stock, create a sales order, deliver from stock, and see that it consumes the way you want.
Consumption parameters that you need to check are on MRP View 3 below the planning strategy group field.

  • Sale order not consuming sale forecast

    Dear Gurus,
I have created a sale forecast using T-code MD81, 'CusReq" is reflected in MD04...I conduct a planning run and planned orders are generated and subsequent process orders and this stock is now credited to WH stock... But the "CusReq" is not disappearing from MD04, as a result of which When I am creating a  sale order Using VA01, it is only showing available qty in WH as remainder after the MD81 Requirement...
How can I make the sale order consume the sale forecast (CIR) that was created using MD81.??

    Hi,
Customer Indepnedent requirement is a sales order as treated by MRP.
The sales order consumption works with PIR not with Customer requirements.
Further in most cases, consumption means not PIR reduction.
it is consuming the planned orders created for PIR's by allocating to sales orders.
For ex; in a MTS scenario,
    PIR ---1000
    PLanned order 1000
    Sales order 1500
    After MRP
    PIR--1000
    PLanned order 1000
    Planned order 500
    Sales order 1500
PIR reduction from MD04 happens when GI happens for the sales order or GR for Production order depending the Planning strategy.

  • Regarding  planning strategies

    Hi,
    Dear Experts,
I have some confusion about strategies which i want to discuss which is as follows,
    For MTS -10
          MTD-20
          Production with final assemble-40 etc.
Is is correct that i am using for make to stock,
    for ROH-10, SFG-10, FG-40.
if not please tell me what are the others which i have to use also want to know more about how a industry choose a planning strategy.
    Your suggesstions are weelcome.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Make to stock: These are the following strategies 10,30,40 and 70 used in MTS
In a made-to-stock scenario, the incoming customer requests are fulfilled from the inventory. The made-to-stock products are normally the consumer products or products which have a monopoly market and are sold out of the existing inventory. Such products are developed and produced continuously over the years till the product comes to the end of its life cycle.
In such scenarios, the shop floor or the production team never knows, for whom the product is being produced. The customer demands and the market situations can only be forecasted and used as a basis for future production. In SAP the forecasted quantity is evidently used in a form of planned-independent-requirement.
Made-to-stock production quantities are entered in SAP through the use of u201CPlanned independent requirementsu201D (transaction code MD61) which are subsequently planned by SAP MRP run. The planned independent requirements can be entered manually or the requirement can be pulled in from forecast or it can be pulled in from the sales and operation information structures (information structures which carry the sales information at levels defined by the organization).
Make to Order:  Strategy no 20 and 50 used in MTO
In a make-to-order scenario, the incoming customer requests are accepted and produced thereafter and ultimately delivered to the very customer. The example of such a scenario can be high end products like jewelry or high end equipments or very costly product. These products are normally configured by the customer and the order is produced according to the customer requirements or by the design provided by the customer. The Sales order is created or configured according to the customer requirements and passed on to the production team.
In such a scenario, the tracking of the sales order from its creation to planning to production to inventorying to delivery can be easily tracked unlike in made-to-stock scenarios, where the incoming sales orders are not tracked in the plant, but are fulfilled by the existing stocks.
Coming to your question, using of strategies is purely depends on the business requirement. If it is make to stock, then you can use the same way you have posted (ROH-10, SFG-10, FG-40)
    Hope it clears your doubt.
    Regards / US
