i used planning stratergy 59 Planning at phantom assy lvl
but the indreq and ordres was not reduced even though the final assy was dlv.
what can i do.

Hi,
1.Have you maintained Consumption mode and consumption period to allow the PIRs.
2.Please maintain Mixed MRP indicator to 1 Subassy planning with final assy in MRP-3 view
3.Set the individual/collective indicatror to 2 on MRP-4 view

Please elaborate the function & logic of planning strategy group used for production planning? How the alternate strategies works under main strategy?

Once Planning strategy is created , Then we need to assign planning strategy in Planning Strategy Group in IMG> Prdn> prdn planning> PIR> define strategy Group,
In Planning stratergy Group we can assign 1 main strategy and 7 alternate strategy.
Ex: If the same material is produced both MTS and rarely MTO means
Maintain a Main strategy as 10 and Alternate strategy as 20
Then when ever sale order comes System will take KSL is sale order, system will consider MTS as per Main stratergy
If you want to procure based on Customer for that Material Then Go to procurement Tab of sale order change the Requirement type as KE. and save, ( system will allow only KSL and KE based On streatergy Group, System will take deafult main stratergy, IF you want to change the stratergy got to sale order procurement tab, change the reqmt type)

Planned order creation with sale order assingment at the run time of MRP

some material item not planed with sale order stock in MRP run time. all setting in material master are corrected as i knowing.having some mistake in setting other configuration.

Planning strategy is Make to order individual collective as individual but still come as make to stock plan orders
Incase of Header material- Plan order is creating in MTS
Check the sale order procurement tab, Is The requiremnt type is relevant to your Stratergy?, if not chnage it to correct requiremnt type and rerun MRP again
Incase of component material- Plan order is creating in MTS
Check for the component material MRP 4 View, individual/Coll.req- as 1. If not set as 1 and rerun the MRP again

Single and strategy plan( What does it means )?

Please explain me what does single cycle plan and strategy plan means.
Following is my requirement.
( Since Swedish mills and other units use not only single cycle plans but also strategy plans , sometimes with multiple operations to each maint item, there is a need for cycle and cycle unit (interval) and work center on operation level on the layout in the report zpm_huvud.
There is also a need for maint plan name, plant section and work center (on operation level) as search criteria in the variant. The reason for this is that we use plan name as grouping criteria for multiple objects in rounds. The criteria work center description text should be changed into main work center.
We also need to be able to sort the answer in the layout in two ways : by functional location or by maintenance plan.
The plans that have object lists and/or have no operation lists also need to be shown in the report. All text on maintenance plan should be shown in the report )
Please explain me this with one example...

say for example you are planning to replace the bearing of a pump every 500 hrs of ruuning ,you use this plan to generated the maintenance order when the operating hours reaches 500 hrs.
Stratergy
In case of DG set there are lot of components to be maintained based on running hours for example for ever 100 hrs filters to be cleaned,every 500 hrs lub oil to be changed.In this case you can use strategy based maintenance plan .you can create 2 operation in the task list and assign to the respective package,so onec the 100 hrs has reached system will create maintenance call object as filters to be changed and in 500 hrs it will say lub oil replacement

Bug in Conversion 4m Planned Order to Production Order.

Hi guys,
While conversion of Planned order to Production Order i got the below error,
"YOU CANNOT MAKE AN ASSIGNMENT TO MAKE-TO-ORDER STOCK"
Message # CO684
Settings i ve done,
MRP3 View for this particular Material i have selected Stratergy as 20.
Please help me to resolve this issue,and what are the settings i need to do.

Planning strategy grp in MTO

Hello All,
We have a pure make to order scenario (Stgy grp 20). In one of the orders, the material master creation group forgot to enter the stgy grp in MRP 3 (It is actually left blank). Also, the sales order for that particular material is created and MRP run taken.
To my surprise, i found that planned orders are still getting generated and are still percolating down to the bottom most level even after not defining the planning strategy group in material master of FERT. How is the planned order getting generated due to presence of a sales order even without the stgy. group? I believe it should not have got generated.
Need ur help..Am i going wrong somewhere?

During sale order creation system will check the schedule line category first ( based on MRP type system will pick the schedule line category) if the schedule line category has CP ( relevant to MRP), system will set theis sale order as relevant to MRP.
and then system will check the stratergy group in material master, based on this requirement type for customer requiremnt is picked, during MRP, system will behave based on requiremnt type.
if the stratergy group is not mainatined in material master then only system will check for MRP group for stratergy type and find the requiremnt type.
If the stratergy group is not find in material master and MRP group, system will trigger MRP for sale order with schedle line category .
In schedule catergory config( V0V6) you can fid the requiremnt transfer tick), this setting will trigger the requiremnt to MRP eventhough stratergy group is not maintained, if stratergy group is mainatained, system will behave based on stratergy group( reuirement type.

Quality plan shud attached automatically .....

I have already activated auto asssignment indicator , still it is not picking inspection plan & also, i will narrate the in brief i have created inspection plan & assigned customer to that inspection plan. when i am creating lot for that customer inthat lot that customer specific inspection plan not appearing for manual selection also. if it won't get attach automatically to that lot then atleast it should appear for manual selection, in my case it is not appearing

IP10 parameters in strategy plan

We're trying to implement the strategy maintenance plans in our company. Taking a look to the help.sap.com we've ascertained the use of the parameters in maintenance plans and the use of strategy.
We've followed the steps:
1-Creating the strategy: three cycles (1-every two months, 2-every 6 months, 3-every 12 months).
2-Implement the strategy in the task list at every operation.
3-IP01: Creating the strategy maintenance plan with the task list and associated parameters.
4-IP10: we have scheduled the maintenance plan.
Our problem: the strategy works, but none of the parameters in the tab 'scheduling parameters' work in the way that SAP explains in help.sap.com (horizon, shift factor, tolerance...). We're using time-key date as scheduling indicator. The unit in scheduling is 'month'.
Do you know the reason? Is there any incompatibility between scheduling parameters and strategies?

What is the use of OR and AND functions in counter based maint plan

I want to create a counter based maintenance plan...
I entered the measurement reading for the counter, reading is 4000 hrs
IN IP43
I created the counter plan with cycle as 6000 hrs. Once the document reaches 6000 order will be created. While creating the maintenance plan, in the maintenance schedule parameters, i check there is OR and AND functions avaliable...
I know the basic use of both the functions..
But what is the significance in the maintenance plan....
Will it give any effect, between the schedule date and measurement docu entries...
Since i need to maintain like... once the counter reaches 6000 hrs only order should be created.. it should not create once the date as been reached... since due to present condition, i am not running the DG....

If you want order to be created only after certain Hrs to be reached to cycle value then you may opt for single cycle or strategy cycle
can u explain how to do it...
In single cycle or stratergy... if u schedule the plan itself, the dates will be populated.. it will calculate with respect to the annual reading we have entered in the measurement document...
My DG overhaul to be taken in every 6000 hrs... i create a plan... i have given the annual reading as 8000 hrs... if i schedule the plan for 5 yrs... wat will be the call objects...
Then i am running the DG for 3 hours a day... my annual running hrs will be 1000 hours.. but my order will be released since it has crossed the dates...
how to control... is it possible to do it in IP43 with multiple counter...
How to do this ?

Im in FMCG industry, act here no critical phases are running , only batch management is maintained, also maximum production depends on sales order and some products always make to stock , what stratergy i want to use , also i can i go for process or production order
if i go for prod order what happens,
which is best production or process order?
also suggest the stratergy.

In MRP view 4, set planning strategy 40 (Planning with final assembly). The consumption indicator is important (see in user parameters of PIR Tcode MD61) and also specify the consumption mode(backward/forward) and consumption period (no. of days).
Batch management in FMCG is used to control the materials in WH FIFO. So I dont think there is a need for PI orders here. Unless your product is highly critical viz. pharma or chemical products...

Normally Str 40 works in the both ways, but its still a Make to Stock stratergy which also considers SO.
but this does not behave as a pure MTO as you would not get the SO reference in production order.
If you want it that way, one option would be to combine these stargtergies 10 & 20 in a Zstartergy group
& assign it to the material. Latter when creating the SO for the line item you the option of selecting
the requirement type, & based on this the Production order would be created as MTS or MTO order.

Hi Sivaram,
I haven't worked in Steel but worked in Cement industry. Cement is another input to construction industry, just like steel. In India, both have seasonal demand. But I would give a generic suggestion here, though you can check with your network in other steel companies having similar product offering as yours, about the forecasting model they follow.
Choice of forecasting model is not industry dependent. Because within the same industry, each player has a different product mix, different set of customers and in different geograhies. Forecasting model is selected based on the analysis of historical data. So you can take last 2 years available data to start with.
Demand Planning provides the following statistical forecasting models: constant model, trend model, seasonal model, trend and seasonal model, Croston method with exponential smoothing, linear regression, and causal models with multiple linear regression (MLR).
Time series models are the most commonly used forecasting methods.
The flow chart is like this:
Raw Data collection --> Data analysis --> Analyzed data --> Forecasting Model selection
You can use plotting as a method of Data analysis,
We need to find the best forecasting model, so that it gives us the most accurate demand. There is no systematic approach for the selection of a forecasting model and you need to find the best for you by trial and error.
The following factors impact the model selection: (1) Forecast Horizon (2) Data Availability / Requirements (3) Pattern of Past Data (4) Level of Detail in the Forecast (5) Cost Factors (6) Accuracy and (7) Ease of Application.
So use the historical data, analyse it, try using the available forecasting methods one by one to forecast for a period during which the actual data is already available with you and find the one which is best matching the actual figures. The model giving most accurate results, or the one with least forecast error, would be the one you are looking for.

Go to MM02 check what stratergy u have maintained in MRP view then see the Requiremnet type KEy according to that u need to give the req before that in MD61 click on user parameters and And give Requirement Type Key and save
then Run MD02 u can get the Pllanned orders according to the req

here my scenario is project with project systems.and manufacturing of material inhouse.
for my project i will create WBS element, Network. and assign finished material to tht network. also i will schedule for the requirment dates. and i will reserve it.
so here how can i get the requirments into production planing.
i can run MRP directly for my projects and system creates Pln order,
then i will convert it into production order, then issue of finished goods to netrwork.
if i use above procedure which stratergy i can apply. is it possible to apply Stratergy 20 or 70
can any one suggest on this,

Hi,
Are you sure that you need a strategy group?
If you use MRP type PD, it will see the reservation that you have generated and will use this as a requirement to generate the production (planned order). If you have set the material to internally procured only then the planned order can then be easily converted into a production order.
Have you tried this in yout "play" client?
