i want to know the relation between bom,dependencies which we are creating in variant configuration for make to order scenarios and the planning table or variant table.
if i create a new charecteristic in a class it will not visible in planning profile selection
how to make it visible and the method i want to know

Updation of the indicators of NETCH & NETPL in Planning File entry(MD21)

Hi,
Can anyone explain me when the indicators-NETCH & NETPL will be updated in Planning File entry table(tcode-MD21) for a material in a specific plant .
Actually, we observed that these indicators are updated only when we do Goods Issue through backflush during Production order confirmation. If i do goods delivery using tcode-VL01N(mtype 601), these indicators are not updated in planning file entries.Can anyone suggest me what could be the reason for this.

"The planning file record for a material also has a u201C_net change planning in the current horizonu201D field which will be set if the change in the materials receipt or issue_ element is valid in the planning horizon. This indicator will help you choose only those materials which have undergone a change in the planning horizon; through the use of a planning key, in an MRP run, called u201CNet change planning in the planning horizonu201D.

In MDRE we can only get this message :
Number of set planning file entries : _____
And in table DBVM we can get the complete list of material irrespective of fact that Planning file entry is earlier maintained or not.
I only want to find the material list whose entry is not there but maintained by the batch job.

Planning file entry and purchase orders

Hi all:
The documentation for MRP planning states that the planning file entry is updated for relevant changes to the material that includes among other things creation of purchase orders for the material.
In our system, MRP requisition creation does update table MDVM as part of the MRP run. However, purchase order creation does not update the planning file entry, even though the documentation says it should.
Anyone ever encounter this? Are there controls that need to be set?

Not sure where you had read that a Purchase order creation updates the PFE. Have a look at this.

Planning file entry for MRP Area

Hi,
To create planning file entry in the background at plant level we use Transaction MDAB. I would like to know that if MRP area is active than whats the T-code for planning file entry in the background at mrp area level?? To create manualy in the Trx md20 we have that option to select mrp area & plant. So please let me know yours view on this.

Dear,
If planning file entry are there on plant level then system will convert same on MRp area level. Have you check that tables? (DBVM)
For planning file entry at MRP area lvel , use report RMDBVM00 (transaction OM0F) to convert the existing table MDVM with the planning file entries into table DBVM. The conversion is also described in MRP Customizing: TA OPP1 -> Planning File Entries.
There is no need of MDAB just check your entry in MD21 take a MRP run at MRP area lvel and come back if any problem.
If you want to schedule it on MRP area lvel then use the MDRE or use program RMMDVM10 and in variant here select the MRP Area redio button.

The SYSVAL table entry for the database version (16) does not match the required version

We upgraded from Tidal Enterprise Scheduler (TES) 5.31 to 6.1 on fresh Windows x64 2008 R2 servers. I did a fresh install but our DBA restored a copy of our database from pre-prod which was at 5.31. I get the error below. Note, SQL went from 2005 to 2012 during this upgrade. Do I need to change a value in this table to reflect the SQL change?

I had this error last night while applying a patch to 6.0. However in my case the version was 21 versus a required version of 23.
As far as i know 6.1 is not compatible with the 5 db schema, so you will need an update / migration plan for the db also.

Issue related to planning file entries.

Daily around 50,000 materials are getting flagged with the planning file entries ( NETCH , NETPL & BOM Expl ) in around 10 - 20 sec .
As this is imapcting the MRP run , we need to now the reason why these planning file entries are created .
Note :-
*)   All these materials has been linked to the configurable material in MRP view
*)   There are no changes in these materials
*)   There are no changes in the config mat , BOM , routing .
*)   There are no batch jobs or Idocs processed at the specific time when planning file entries are created
     Assuming that the Time stamp of last update for planning file entry in DBVM is in UTC (Universal time)
*)   We have also execute the program for consistency check of planning file entries , however even this did not help

We just upgraded from 4.6 to ECC.
In 4.6 , the number of entries flagged with NETCH per day was around 3000 & the MRP run was taking around 30 min to finish .
After upgrade the MRP run is taking around 8 hrs to finish
As per our analysis , the main reason for the MRP performance is the number of planning file entries flagged with NETCH , NETPL & BOM re-explode indicator .
When we checked the update time stamp in table DBVM for all the 50,000 entries , we observed that all these entries were updated within a time duration of 15 - 20 sec.
In this paticular time duration , we checked whether there were any batch job or idocs getting procesed , but there were none .
As these entries are updated almost daily & there is no centain time when this happens , we need to know whether there is a mechanish with which we can find the specific program which created the planning file entries .
If we find the program , we can debug it .
As planning file entries are created in a number of cases ( may be creation /changing of master data or transaction data ) , we are totally clueless which standard program or Z program is causing the issue

Without delete PDP table entry, I want to Order PO in R/3. How can I do it?

I am using SRM 5.5 with Extended Classic Scenario and Plan Driven Procurement(PDP).
My question is: I was unable to create PO with reference PR/RFQ/Manually in R/3.System is giving an error message 'you can order locally(SRM)'. Which material group and Purchasing groups are maintained in PDP table. If I delete this entry I can Order PO in R/3.
Now I don't want to delete PDP table entry and I want to Order PO in R/3. How can I do it?.
Please focuses light on this issue. Highly appreciate.

I think you can do in both sides
let me know your scenario too well.
I am in classic scenario
i can create a PR - if i have valid unique source of supply , PO will be created in ECC
If i have more than one source of supply , my PR will get EPRTRANS TABLE ENTRY with EPROFILE updated in EBAN table and my ECC pr wil be transfered to SRM and create a sc and this cart will be in cockpit.
I believe your PR has EPROFILE , thats why you could not create a PO in ECC side.

How to you assign a source of supply for PRs ? I wanted to know. so i can expalin easilyand any jobs you create to create a Auto POS in ECC after assign a source of supplt to your Purchase request.

Maintain Entry Parameters - Production\Repetitive Manufacturing\Planning\Planning Table\Maintain Entry Parameters
Maintain Row Selection - Production\Repetitive Manufacturing\Planning\Planning Table\Maintain Row Selection
For the capacity planning in the planning table you can maintain different profiles.

Can you clarify that why do you make direct table entry in J_1IPART2?.
If already Part I entry is there, then you can ahead through J1IEX -> Post -> Vendor - Interal Excise Invoice Number ->
Give Part I Number as input.

Problem in REM Planning table.

Hi PP Gurus,
We created one material with REM profile 0004 with MRP1, 2, 3, 4, BD1, 2, Accounting 1, 2, Costing 1, 2 and Work scheduling views. In Work scheduling view weu2019ve not maintained any Production Scheduler and Production Scheduling Profile except Production storage location. Whenever weu2019re accessing Planning table (MF50) getting the errors
1.     Date adjust. level incorrect: Plant 1001 /ord.type PE / prod.sched. *
2.     No lead time scheduling: Plant 1001 / order type PE / prod.sched. *
3.     No capa. data determined: Plant 1001 / Ord. type PE / Prod. sched. *
One more thing. If we donu2019t put any sales order OR PIR using MD61 Planning table is not showing any details in Material Data rows of Planning Table. And system is not allowing to create any Planned Order manually. What might be the problem?
If we put any Sales order or PIR using MD61 though the Rows in Material Data get visible but system is not showing any calculation changes in u2018Complete capacity datau2019 rows. We mean to say system is showing Available capacity but not showing any Required Capacity at Production line.

In OPU5 Rate base scheduling active tick mark for scheduling and generate capacity with selection ID 02.
Scheduling level -rate-based scheduling
Scheduling type- Backward.
Then check the planning table section parameter
SPROProductionRepetitive ManufacturingPlanningPlanning Table--Maintain Entry Parameters.
Please check scheduling level and other parameters?
I hope u have not maintained any prod scheduler at work scheduling view.
Please change this and try again run MRP with planning mode -3 deleted and recreated with lead time scheduling and check the result
The production line what u have selected at planning table should be same with, production line define at "production version"

Issue in Planning file entry creation for materials

Hi all,
There are some materials for which there are no planning file entries inspite of having MRP data and valid MRP type.
The reason (1) could be that those materials might have been created before MRP was activated for that plant. Another reason (2)is that materials created by certain batch SAP programs do not trigger the creation of a planning file entry automatically, the way a MM01 normally does when you create a material. Otherwise when a material is created with MRP data & valid MRP type, the material will be automatically included in the Planning File.
Please let me know whether my understanding on the above( reason no.1 & 2) is valid or not. Is there any SAP / OSS document / SAP help related to this information on reason (2) that you can share with us? If you could share any link of any such document, it will be really helpful.

Reason could be
System will maintain the Planning File Entry Automatically once MRP is activated for particular Plant (T.Code OMDU).But if Materials are created Before this activation then you have to do manual entry of those Materials in Planning File using T.Code MD20 or using Background job MDBT.
If you create the materials or upload materials before activation plant for MRP this may be the cause for this.
Go to OMDU here is tick mark for plant activation for MRP if you activated after material master creation then system will not create planning file entry for these material.
In my case every thing was maintained than also no planned order generated? Pls put some more fact on this.
Before running MRP we used to run MDRE. But in the result spool list there is no content
Create the variant and run it in Back ground
For this you need to you need to create the variant for planning file entry and its consistence check in OMDU and execute it to avoid such type of issue.

Table entries not getting displayed in desired format

In my adobe layout I created a table . I used data format Align Right and align middle for the table entries. In the Output some entries of the table are not displaying in align right and align middle.

That is pretty to much information to help you.
You need to share your technical setting. How did you create the table? Subforms, Table-assistent... what are the values in? Format, what happens when you also pass more than 1 digit to the numbers in the first row, does it show up correct?
So please share more details and explain exact what you have tried to fix the issue. The community is able to help you, but not meant to suggest enaything you could have done.

Operations are not getting despatched in capacity planning table

Hi Experts,
I am using capacity planning table (Graphical) to level the capacities and sequence the process orders. The start date of my orders are very well in future and sufficient capacities also is available in resources. But when I go to CM25 and select one order and click on despatch, system is not despatching it. This is the case for almost all the overall profiles.
The surprising factor is, this function was working fine earlier without any issues. I havent done any changes in configs which will affect capacity planning.
What can be the reason for this? Any thoughts please?.
One more thing. Is there any option to avoid the capacity planning step if Iam using R/3 and manage it by some other way?

Most likely you didnt define the rowsource key properly. Please look under <install>/errors folder for any file there.
