Planning to buy Dv6t series laptop.

hello,
i am planning to ask my friend to order the HP Pavilion Dv6t series laptop from US.i stay in india.wanted to know will i get the services from india if the product is in warranty period.thanks in advance.

From posts I have seen here by others_the answer is no. Only laptops sold in your region are eligible for local warranty service. That would leave you with the need to mail your laptop to someone in US to have it serviced in event of problems.

  • Planning to buy a New Computer But Afraid

I am planning to buy a new Laptop. I'm afraid that my applications will be deleted especially games that have saved data in my iPod Touch. For Musics and Stuff i'm not worried as I can organize again in my new iTunes on my new laptop. Any solution for this? I've search online but no useful respond to my problem

Did you see my post to you in that other thread?

Also. Don't get rid of your old PC before you make sure everything is working OK on the new one. This seems basic, but you would not believe the number of folks who do this.
If you keep the old PC you can always keep using it until the new one's setup is perfect.
Just a thought, to make you less afraid!

I am using for Autocad my Windows HP Laptop. However i want to shift to Apple world and plan to buy new  MBAir 13". Is it has enough power to install bootcamp and run Autocad?

I don't know, but I would assume that the MBA can install and can run Autocad with Boot Camp.
The question is more, can the software be effectively used with such a small display.
Audocad and vector packages such as Adobe Illustrator are typically run using large screens, so a lack of display real estate may mean the process is frustrating, even if it is possible.
I face the same thing - I am considering an MBA 13" and need to run Illustrator, and that would mean a lot of scrolling.
I  think you would be advised to ensure you bought an MBA with a high specification of processor and memory to give yourself the best chance of success.
Is there a Mac version of Autocad you could switch to, to make for less complication? I've managed to shift all but one of my Windows applications to OS X now, and only occasionally use Windows on the system.

Hi all,I am planning to buy apple air or pro laptop for my office use, kindly give ur suggestions, will it work structural design software like staad pro ETAB,cad in apple laptops?

    Hi VigneshCivil,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Without knowing the specification requirements of the applications you will be using, I can't give you a specific recommendation. But I have provided you with the specifications of the two screen sizes of both the MacBook Pro Retina and the MacBook Air to compare with the requirements of your apps. One caution I would provide is not to go with the bare minimums required for the app, doing that would not give you optimum performance.

  • How do I install memory into the Pavilion 17z-F2 series laptops?

How do I install memory into the Pavilion 17z-F (17z-F200, product L2H13AV) series laptops?
HP appears to have no maintenance guide available for this model series. What's up with that?
Please, do not offer the generic (and out-of-date) Pavilion 17 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. It does not appear to apply to the 17z-F series. This guide instructs to remove the bottom service panel which I could have figured that out on my own. However, the 17z-F series does not appear to have any removable panels at all. I took an up-close look at the Pavilion 17z-F100. And, it does not have any removable panels on the underside, except for the battery. So, I presume the 17z-F200 to be the same.
I am a computer technician. And, this is the first laptop I have seen without any service panels. I am probably going to have to disassemble the entire outer-shell to install memory (or to replace the hard disk drive once the time comes). But, every laptop I have worked on in the past had its own special array of hidden screws or special tricks for disassembly. So, having a maintenance guide is a necessity to avoid damaging plastic mounts, clips, guides, etc.
    This question was solved.

    How about this one:
    Pavilion 17z Manual
Don't get me started on this. It's one of my pet peeves, too. HP is not the only one doing this. Acer and Toshiba, etc. also are selling "closed" systems now. I hate it. I will absolutely never knowingly buy one but I am spending a lot of time here answering questions just like this. Good luck and let us know how you do. Sounds like you will be fine.

Hi, planning to buy MD101, I will most be working on photoshop, playing live/audio production, occasionally render videos, mild gaming-prototype.gta4 types..my question is mac or windows? my budget stops at MD101 and no further :/

    Hey thanks for the reply
its not like i must...but i do prefer apple for build quality and the way the os uses the hardware..
Priority of the laptop will be:
1- Going live with it, using softwares like ableton like or garageband to trigger samples and ambient patches with MIDI keyboard.
    2- Designing on photoshop
3 - Occasional video rendering mostly non hd but good quality like youtube 720p
4 - Gaming when i am bored - I am not at all into gaming but i would surely love to play some
But i want something that will be durable/storngly built and its hardware/processor good enough to run for 3-4 years.
Now if a laptop then which one?
    Thank you

  • Can I upgrade the T2310 CPU in Satellite Pro L40-15D series laptop?

Hi, ( I apologise if this has been asked before but when I search ' Satellite pro l40 series' I found no relevant answers )
I've been searching around the net & so far found some conflicting answers to this question so hopefully this forum may be able to help.
    I have a Satellite pro L40 15D laptop and I wish to upgrade the Intel Pentium Dual-Core 1.46 Ghz T2310 CPU to a Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4300 2.1GHz 1MB 800 CPU or something similar.
I have found the following information from http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Toshiba-Satellite-L40-14N-Notebook.7294.0.html
" f you consider a CPU upgrade, there are not many options available. The Intel GL960 express notebook chip set supports only up to 533 Mhz FSB processors. So, most of the up-to-date Core 2 Duo CPUs (with 667MHz) cannot be used. "
But then I have also read that the GL960 can run processors of 800Mhz?.
I also asked the question on ebay from the seller of the T2310 CPU & received this answer
"SHOULD be okay, but your T2310 has 533Mhz FSB and the T4300 has 800Mhz.
Most modern intel motherboards should easily accept an 800mhz cpu, but I cannot guarantee. Might be an idea to see if you can find out if there are other models of Toshiba L40 that also have 800mhz chips, as that would be a good indicator.
And if I can not upgrade too a T2310 because of the 800mhz is their a 533mhz cpu that will be compatible & more powerful for audio production than my current 1.46 Ghz T2310 CPU.
I have only had this PC 4 years from new,it would seem to me to be not very resource friendly if this laptop has not be designed to handle upgrades.
    Thanks for any guidance.

    To quote
'Problem is that CPU upgrade is not supported and all you do is on your own risk.

    Helpful link thanks :-)
Of course any upgrade I did personally would be entirely at my own risk .
So it's not a good idea as mentioned .
I would still like to know if technically it is possible and if so it's most probably been done & maybe works fine, rather then half answers .

Alternatively do you guys have any suggestions, other than buying a new laptop, of ways to increase the performance for music production.
I already have 1.99 GB of ram installed .
Would using a external USB sound card and bypassing the internal sound card give me a little more processing power . I believe it's the real time processing of audio effects etc that make audio production demanding on a cpu.Could that processing somehow be shared with a pro audio card? .
Either way thanks for the help guys :-)

  • Planning to buy macbook pro for logic - dual or quad?

    Hi
I am planning to buy a MBP, my budget is tight, as I also will have to upgrade
Logic and Native Instruments stuff to run on the new machine.
If I buy the 15'' 2.8 Ghz dual core, I will upgrade to 8GB right away.
I guess the 15'' 2.4 Ghz quad core should be faster, but then I might have
to defer upgrading to 8 GB (but it will done for sure at some point).
Does Logic take advantage of quad core surplus performance?
    What do you guys suggest?
    Thanks a lot

I was pondering the same decision, and was "steered" by an Apple salesperson to a Mac Mini with Lion Server instead.
How could I give up a laptop? Easy: as I travel less and less for business, and this way I get quad-core, i7 performance for under a grand. Add 8GB of RAM, and swap out one of the two 500GB drives for a fast SSD (such as one from OWC), and you have a perfect combo for Logic Studio.
If I really need a laptop in the future, I'll probably go for an refurb i5 Air, when they drop a little in price.
    Cheers!
    Tony.

  • HP pavillion or sony e series laptop?

i am looking for a laptop for college. which one is better for light use and worth the price. HP - 15.6" Pavilion Laptop - 8GB Memory - 750GB Hard Drive  special features include backlit keyboard, beats audio system, hd webcam and finger print reader. Sony 15.5" vaio e series laptop 6gb memory- 750gb hard drive special features include Bluetooth; backlit keyboard; HDMI output

This is going to sound like a cop-out, but assuming they're comparably priced, I'd strongly suggest going with whichever one has more comfortable keyboard. Your hands are going to spend a long time on those keys, so having something that you can type on comfortably is a huge plus.
In terms of specifications, both of those machines are more than adequate for light use and the 15.6" screens are going to give you the most value for your dollar (they get more expensive moving in either direction from that point). I would be sure to try closing the screen on 'em both a few times-they're consumer grade laptops, which means the quality of the hardware can vary widely and there are some out there that just don't feel solid.
As far as the brands are concerned, my experience has been that the Sonys tend to be a little more solid but also a little more expensive to repair and replace stuff like chargers. I've had good experiences with HP, but they feel a little lighter to me.
    Hope that helps.
I do not now, nor have I have, worked for Best Buy. I have only supported them with a very expensive electronics and musical instrument habit.

  • Planning on buying a new mbp does the screen still dither??

So I am planning on upgrading from my old macbook pro which had the infamous artifact dithering in Windows making the screen appear grainy and undesirable to use. So my big question does anyone have a new macbook pro and see this problem? Or has apple finally fixed this problem cause I use Windows for work and it kills me to look at the grainy screen. Thanks!

My macbook's about a year old; it's not one of the brand-new, redesigned ones though. I have never had the issue that you're talking about in boot camp. I think they fixed it awhile ago, I remember seeing a thread about it somewhere. I wouldn't get a mb though. I was required to purchase a macbook pro from my university. All students needed one since the workers in the entertainment industry choose macs over pcs. However, If you know computers, you'll know that you're paying over 1000 dollars for simply the name "Apple". Meaning, if you were to buy a pc laptop that had the same if not better specs than the Macbook pro, you'd save about 1000 dollars. Plus the aluminum case might look cool for a week or so, but scratches and dents extremely easily. Over half the students in my class alone have had lcd problems as well. Mine got a small but noticeable crack from overheating in boot camp because when I close the lid the computer only sleeps about 1/3 of the time. Don't get me wrong, apple/mac puts out some good products (like the ipod, Ibooks, G4, etc.) but I think that their design for the macbook just doesn't add up to the ridiculous price tag. The redesigned ones may be different, as I haven't gotten the chance to test-drive one yet, But as of now, my recommendation is a pc laptop.

  • Planning to buy new PC.

I'm planning to buy a new customized PC on which I would like to install Solaris 10.
I've received an interesiting offer based on Asus P5KR motherboard together with the
    Intel Q6600 and PCI-E GeForce 7300
I've been browsing through the hardware on the Sun website, but haven't found back this motherboard
    on the list.
Does somebody already installed Solaris on PC with this mainboard?
Could there be any potential issues using this mainboard?

Are you planning to buy a desktop, or laptop... and are you going to edit HiDef video?
If you are going to edit HiDef video, especially that from a DSLR camera, you need "somewhat" more than Adobe's minimum specifications
    i7 CPU
8Gig MINIMUM ram, 16gig might be better
2 7200rpm hard drives, or SSD and 7200rpm hard drive (as already mentioned)
ATI graphic card with at least 512Meg ram (1)
Read computer specifications to find one with Firewire... or, if a desktop, buy a Fireware card that uses a TI chip http://forums.adobe.com/thread/940242
    (1) Premiere Elements does not use the GPU for hardware acceleration like Premiere Pro, so a more expensive nVidia card is not really needed... minimum 512meg video ram, 1Gig of video ram if you are also going to use Photoshop for large pictures

I bought a DOS version of the W520 since I already had a copy of Win7, getting support from lenovo's website for drivers are terrible, and I still haven't figured out why my bluetooth adapter isn't being recognized or listed in the device manager. Build quality of the laptop is great, and it's matte black and brushed metal is gorgeous, but the support is a bit lack luster
Brushed metal? you seem to talk about another laptop.
I'm happy with my W510 after having memory module problems that i solved, the screen is great FHD and it's fast and built like a tank.
It is an old fashion conservative laptop, it's not for everyone, but you get what you pay for.
However i do feel Lenovo shouldn't have added USB3 ports to the laptop as they are not supported by BIOS at boot, also i think most manufacturers should drop Displayport as HDMI is standard on all projectors and TVs these days.

The Nokia Asha 503 is on sale in some markets already and you might make a bargain. However, I do not know for whom this model was made for, especially when I compare it to Nokia 700 (Symbian), Nokia 311 (Nokia Series 40), and Nokia Lumia 720 (Windows Phone) available on second-hand market – just look at the screen resolution. I guess you ask, because Google Android is no option. Is a Mozilla Firefox OS v1.3 device available in your country?

  • Planning To buy MSI K9N Platinum + AMD X2 3800+

    Hello everyone,
as the title as Iam planning to buy a MSI K9N Platinum board with an AMD X2 3800+ for a new system build. Ive been out of the game for a while, the last time I was really up to date on computer technology is when the AMD XP 2500+ Barton was the hottest thing on the market, some what of a new comer to dual core technology. I have a few questions, mainly about the board it self. I did a little searching and that answered some of my question but I have a few more.
Ive read a lot about the shutdown problems from the board when transferring large files or burning DVDs. I have a few questions about that.
From what I see so far, this is a very informative forum and I appreciate any and all information. So here goes:
    1) It says on the MSI website that the ram slot for this motherboard is at 1.8 volts. The ram Iam planning to get is OCZ Platinum EL XTC PC2-6400 1GB 2X512 DDR2 CL4-5-4-15 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit. On the OCZ website it says that the ram modules run at 2.1 volts. My Question is if I stick this ram in the mother board will it boot long enough for me to go into the bios and change the ram voltage to 2.1 volts?
    2) Now Ive read about the shutdown problems with this board. Ive seen a lot of people up the VCore to 1.35V. If I do this along with a bios flash, will this take care of the problems?
    3) Now the dealer that Iam buying my PC from didn't have this board in stock for the last week. He just got them in 2 days ago this week. Therefore Iam assuming he has the lastest version of these boards. Now are these problems taken care of on the new version of these boards? If not what can I do to get rid of them?
    4) Is there anything else I should know about this motherboard?
    Thanks for the the help.
    Ron

Yes, you could set up manually the voltage to 2.1v perfectly I've got one k9nsli p, with an amdx2 3800+ whit 2gb ddr2 (512x4 twins pack corsair xms2 ddr2 800) that works at 1,9v

My shutdowns problems was resolved by unnistallin' nvidia IDE controller, nothing about vcore or flashin bios... I keep original bios version 1.0 & Core center shows vcore at 1.33v

Good question... 2morrow I'll check on the box of my k9 the part number and will post it

The first week, I was desire burn my k9  shutdowns... shutdowns.... shutdowns... after I find the cause of that ShiX$/#(! (nvidi IDesuxs controller) my life is happy!
