Planning using BPS

Hi,
I am trying to do Account Planning Using BPS. All the key figures have been defined in BPS with the layout. Now when I try to access thes kpi, and the planning profile in CRM in CRM_ACC_PL (Account planning). it gives the following error:
You have no authorization for Display of planning profile 4TPM9910.
I have CRM _All role without the basis auth. Please suggest.

Hi,
Please check your authorization in BW-BPS for ur user ID. You should have authorization for that planning area as well as the infocube.
You should also have authorization for a trusted system in BW.

Limit on records while loading flatfile using BPS GUI.

Things done,
1. planning function of type exit
2. one FM for initialize the data and one FM for loading the data.
3. the first FM is been modified to ask for a file using select file popup
4. the data is getting loaded into the system succesfully.
5. the file type is tab separated text file with extension .txt.
Questions:
1. Do we have any limit on number of records loaded into the system using BPS ?..
2. can i load more than 20,000 records in a single step or we need to break these records into chunk of 9999 in INIT FM ?
3. If there is a limit, please share the code if somebody has already done it.

I have not faced this situation before so can't say with certainty about the limit on number of records. 
However I would like to suggest you the option of loading Flat File to your Transactional Cube using Update Rules. 
Agreed that Planning won't be available when data loading is happening but if data loading is once in a bluetime affair then this should be a very good option as we know you can load a Text file containing huge number of records to an InfoCube in a controlled manner.

Hi,
activate BPS_STAT0 and check how much time is lost in what areas. Typical pitfalls:
- Bad level restrictions in the functions running on layout display (Hi Stephen!)
- Bad programming in data slices or characteristic relations, which are checked per cell
- Bad programming in exit variables used in the levels

First of all those errors look more related to HBR, though if it worked before I would restart services then log into the planning app and then try again.
Have you tried a different form as well one without an ampersand &.

I have got the needed explain plan using hints in my query. I need to capture it using stored outlines.
I am using Oracle 10.2.0.3.

Planned useful life in periods

Hi,
What is the use of Planned useful life in periods in Asset master in depreciation area.

Together with planned life in years is used to represent total life of an asset. For i.e. if your asset total life is 7.5 years, you will enter number seven in planned life in years and 6 in planned lilfe in periods.

BDC - Creating Inspections Plans using T-Code QP01

Hi All,
I want to Create Inspection Plans using QP01 transaction using BDC.
It having 4 screens. Third and Fourth screens having line item details.
I did recording. Upto First and second screens data is populating properly, coming to third screen data is not taking even though bdctable having data (in debug mode i found). I don't know hw to resolve this problem.
Can u please explain hw to populate line-item details, possible give some example coding .

Consolidations Planning using BCS PCtr 'Entire Hierarchy time dependant'

Hi All,
We are doing CONS planning using BCS Profit Center and this infoobject has the 'Entire Hierarchy time dependant' property and we have two hierarchies one for 2010 and one for 2011.
If '0PLANDAT' variable used for the 'Key Date' in the Input Ready Query prooerties, would it take care of bringing up the hierarchy appropriately depending the Plan Year (Fiscal Year) or the period chosen for the planning.
Is there some place I can find the documentation and the logic for the '0PLANDAT' SAP Exit variable?

Hi,
a key date in BW is the date that will be used to read time dependent objects as master data attributes or time dependent hierarchy nodes. These time dependend objects all have valid_from, valid_to fields, when the key date is in the interval the corresponding record will be taken. Observe, that a key date has no link to a time characteristic here.
The idea of 0PLANDAT is to have a variable the can be used in the customizing of time dependent objects in the planning model as characteristic relationships and in a query. The 0PLANDAT settings can be found in the planning specfic settings for an InfoCube in the planning modeler; to use 0PLANDAT in the query ensures that the same key date is used in the planning model and in the query.

Creating multi counter plan using LSMW

I am trying to create multi counter plan (transaction IP43) using LSMW. I am using direct input object 0460 for creating it. Object has IBIPMPLA structure as header. How can i pass multi counter data in it ? Problem is line item level values like 'Maintenance cycle' (ZYKL1) are at header level structure IBIPMPLA.
Anyone has cretaed multi counter using this object, please help me with it.

The standard method used is CREATE_ORDER_SRVPLAN.

Load members and sort in Planning using ODI

Is it possible to load the members and also sort all the members, after the load, when loading into Hyperion Planning using ODI? If there are new members after the previous load, the new nembers are being added at the end. I tried to sort my source but it's the same. I also had SORT_PARENT_CHILD set to Yes.

There are sometimes issues with the sorting using the parent/child option, I think it stems from the old days of HAL as that wasn't the best at sorting.
The options are use the planning sort member utility or depending on how you loading the hierarchy you can order it before it is loaded, if you are using a repository you can create a view to return the members in the correct order or use an id to badge the members in the correct order.

Can Smartview be resrticted to a Planning use?

I am using Planning 11.1.2.1.
I would like that users can use Smartview for Planning use (data forms, workflow, calculation, ... on Planning connection), but cannot do ad-hoc analyse on Planning or Essbase application (same usage as add-in excel).
Is it possible?

What I understood from the post is that once in Smart View, the users should only be able to select Planning Connection (which will give them access to Forms/Workflow, etc) and not the Essbase Server connection (which allows ad-hoc analysis)
So what was trying to convey is that if Administrator does not add a Essbase server connection in the Smart View Panel connection list, users will not have access to Ad-hoc analysis feature of Essbase.
