Plant Dependent and Plant Independent Requirement.

Hi,
I want to know in details, meaning of "Plan dependent Requirement" and "Plan Independent Requirement".
Rajesh

Hi Rajesh,
PIR(planned independent requirement)  is created for the parent(finished) material in tcode MD61
Then in MD04 you can check the same
Dependent requirement will automatically get created for the child materials(semi finished, raw) of the parent material for which PIR is created
Hope the above is clear

  • Client dependent and client independent in ALE

I am going through pdf learning of an ALE scenario,i couldnot get wat is meant by client Independent and client dependent.
    How can i conclude
    Create message type (WE81){color:green} Client independent {color}
To create a new message type, follow these next few steps:
u2022 Enter transaction WE81 (ALE -> Extensions -> IDoc types -> Maintain message type for intermed. Structure -> Create logical message type)
u2022 Choose Create logical message type by double clicking on it
u2022 Click on change icon to enter change mode
u2022 Click on New entries to add a new type
u2022 Enter the required message type, in our case it is ZINVRV and an appropriate description
    u2022 Save and exit.
Your message type has now been created. The next step will be to link it to the IDoc.
    2.2.1. Link message to IDoc type (WE82 & BD69) {color:green} Client independent {color}
To link the message type to the IDoc type follow these next few steps:
u2022 Enter transaction WE82 (ALE -> Extensions -> IDoc types -> Maintain message type for intermed. Structure -> EDI: Message Types and Assignment to IDoc Types)
u2022 Click on change icon to enter change mode
u2022 Click on New entries to create the link
u2022 Enter the message type ZINVRV and the BasicIDoc type as ZINVRV01
    u2022 Save and exit
u2022 Enter transaction BD69 (ALE -> Extensions -> IDoc types -> Maintain message type for intermed. Structure -> Assign message type to IDoc for ALE)
u2022 Click on change icon to enter change mode
u2022 Click on New entries to create the link
u2022 Enter the message type ZINVRV and the BasicIDoc type as ZINVRV01
    u2022 Save and exit
Your IDoc is now linked to your message type. We still need to link object types and add the message to the model before we can use the message.
2.2.2. Maintain object type for message type (BD59) Client independent
The ALE objects are used to create links between IDocs and applications objects, to control the serialisation, to filter messages in the customer model and to use listings.
For our own message type and IDoc you must maintain object types for the links.
If you want to check the serialisation for the message type, then you must maintain object types for the serialisation. If no serialisation object has been maintained for a given message type, then the serialisation will not be checked for this message type.
To add an object type to our message type, follow these next few steps:
u2022 Enter transaction BD59 (ALE -> Extensions -> ALE object maintenance -> Maintain object types)
    DOC NAME: ALE_SCENARIO_DEVELOPMENT_PROCEDURE
    Version 1 Page 6 of 16
    ALE Scenario Development Guide
u2022 Type in your message type ZINVRV and press enter
    u2022 Click on New entries
u2022 Enter your object type, LIFNR (We need to use the vendor as a filter object), the segment name where LIFNR resides, Z1INVRV, a number 1 for the sequence followed by the actual field name LIFNR
    u2022 Save and exit.
You have now created an object that weu2019ll use as a filter object in the customer model to direct the flow of messages to the various logical systems based on the vendors in the filter of the message type ZINVRV.
We now need to add our new message type to the distribution model.
    2.3. Configuring the Distribution Model
This task is performed on your ALE reference client.
    2.3.1. Manual Configuration (BD64) {color:green}  Client dependent {color}
To manually configure the customer distribution model, read the ALE configuration procedure, and follow these steps:
u2022 Perform the Maintain customer distribution model directly function. (ALE -> Distribution customer model -> Maintain customer distribution model directly)
u2022 Specify the customer model you want to maintain and the logical system that is to be the sender of the messages OR create a new model. (Create model ALE with logical system ALELS1C400)
u2022 Choose the receiving systems to which the sending system must forward message type ZINVRV to.
u2022 For each receiving logical system allocate the message type necessary for communication to the receiving systems as per ALE configuration procedure.
u2022 Create filter objects (in our case LIFNR as the object type with the associated vendor number, 0000018001 with leading zeros, in the object area) for the message types.
    u2022 Save the entries.

A client is an independent business unit within an R/3 System, Data in the R/3 are classified as cleint-Dependent and client-independent.
Client-independent data such as ABAP Programs, R/3 repository objects throught the entire system. Other data is client-dependent. meaning, it can be viewed from one client. Cleint-dependent data includes customizing application and user data.
    Eg.
Scripts are client dependent, means the changes done to SAP scripts in particular client will not be reflected in other client.
Smartforms are client independent, means changes done in one client will be reflected in all the clients.
    Server : ECC6
    Client : 100 , 200 , 300 , 400
Now suppose you have developed report in DV server client 100.
Then you will be able to see that in all clients.
Hence this is called as client independent. You can change anywhere and changes will be reflected to all ...
Now suppose you have developed a script in DV client 100.
You will not be able to see that in client 200 or 300 or 400 unless ytou copy that from client since it is client dependent.

  • SALES ORDER AND CUSTOMER INDEPENDENT REQUIREMENT

What is the difference between sales order and customer independent requirement?
    Where these are used?

    Hi Sachin,
If you get an order from your customer you create a sales order in your system. Refering to this SO you can create (e.g.) delivery document and issue your goods from your stock.
In case of PIR (planned independent requirements) you don't know who your customer is. You can use these requirements e.g. for forecasts, MTS environment.
In MTO environment SO will generate PrdOrd, and after the confirmation your goods will get to SO-special stocks from where you can ship them out. You won't produce in this environment independently from SO.
In MTS environmnet you can use both SO and PIR. E.g. in case of planning startegy 11 MRP doesn't calculate with your SO, only PIRs are considered. This strategy is very simple: you input your production plan as PIRs. These PIRs will generate PldOrd, then production orders will be issued and after confirmation your PIRs will disappear. It doesn't matter how many SOs you have, it doen't matter how high your stock levels are...MRP displays them only for information purpose.
In strategy 40 (MTS) both PIRs and SOs (and stock levels) are considered, and (one) purpose of PIRs is to level your production (you will produce even thiough your slaes figure are low > later you can fulfill high demands from stock and you won't have to increase your production quantities). SOs will consume PIRs based on the rules you define.

  • What exactly is the diff between client dependant and client independant te

    Hi gurus,
What is the diff between client independant and client dependant term.. I initially had a confusion related to client independant and client dependant Transport requests, where else are these words applicable, do they apply to data as well, if so how? any links to help me understand the difference..
    regards,
    kishore

    Hi Kishore,
Client Independant: These objects are not specific to any client. And it is universal which can be viewed, changed across the clients.
Client Dependant: These are the objects can be viewed, changed for the client for which it has been assigned. Other clients do not have access on these objects.
In SAP, all objects are finally stored as tables. "Mandt" is key field which determines whether the object is client dependant or not.
Client Independant transport requests will make the transported objects available across the clients. and Client dependent transport request make the objects available only for the client mentioned by field "Mandt"

  • Difference between client dependent table and client independent table

    hi all,
i m new in sap pls tell me the difference between client dependent table and client independent table.
    tell me in detail.
    thanks and regards
      vikas saini

    HI
Client dependent Means if you create that data in one client is limited to that client only and it is not accessable in other clients
Like SAP SCRIPTS and STD texts data
where as Client Independent means the data if you create in one client that is available in that as well as in other clients
Like SMARTFORMS, All dictionary Objects data and Repository objects data like Programs, Fun modules, tables etc..
There is no specific reason behind why scripts are client dep[endent and smartforms are client independent!!!
As for SAP -- Scripts are called client dependent because if you create client in say,200 it would be available in that only.If you want to test the script in client 300 then it won't be there, you will have to go to transaction se71 in 300 .Then Utilities-> Copy from client.Give the source as 200 & form name(i.e. script name) & copy.
Few more reasons why....? Please read below:
    SAPscript technology is based on a mainframe product from the 1980s.SAPscript forms have always been -- under the hood -- relatively passive objects, with minimal embedded logic. These forms were designed to be driven and controlled by ABAP programs, much in the way ABAP programs read in database tables to produce reports;
if you ever download a SAPscript form (e.g., via utility program RSTXSCRP), and look at the portable text file it produces you'll see what I mean.
Many text objects (e.g., invoice header texts) are bound directly to documents which are client-dependent, so it makes sense for these text objects to also be client-dependent. From a complexity standpoint, SAPscript forms are close enough to these text objects where I can see how it made sense at the time to make them client-dependent too.

  • Create independent requirements in SAP R/3 using Java Connectors

    Dear Experts,
I am an Developer and have this requirement .
My part is to deliver a program [an EXE program] that can read an input file and create independent requirements in SAP R/3 accordingly using these function Modules.
One thing that is very important to Notice is that,  to keep requirements synchronized in SAP with an external requirements plan[flat file] I will have to:
    1) Read the existing requirements for a material/plant combination using the BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_GETDETAIL from the Java program and
2.) Update any existing requirements that don’t match the external requirements source through BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CHANGE.
3.) Create new requirements using BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CREATE.
Please help me how do I go about this.
Your Help will be appreciated .

    Hi
    I not understand your question.
¿Need the steps to make the exe program?
    1.     Make the JCO communication between Java and SAP R/3
    2.     read the flat file and use BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_GET to display detail for planned  independent Requirements.
    3.     Update any existing requirements that don’t match the external requirements source through BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CHANGE
    4.     Create new requirements using BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CREATE.
    5.     call BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
Important message of SAP documentation for BAPI_REQUIREMENT_CREATE > Caution: Method is obsolete as of Release 40A!
Try reading the documentation for this BAPI.

  • Planning dependent and independent requirements in DP

    Hi,
We have a material A here that has a BOM defined. The components of the BOM are all dependent on the initial material. There are some cases where theBOM is recursive, meaning that the components of BOM could include material A. Now, I also have some more components that are infact independent of this material but are necessary for material A but it's dynamic. How do I plan this scenario in DP?
I think DP-BOM does the dependent requirements planning for the material A.
How do I plan for the dynamic components? I have some history on how they are generally consumed. So, should I plan them separately, I mean the material A along with the dependent components and the independent dynamic no. components? But the problem, I am guessing, comes up when we forecast more of the independent components and plan fewer for this month....Can somebody suggest me something?
I think I am correct in going for DP-BOM instead of CBF as I donot have variants involved here.  Please correct me if I am wrong, we use DP-BOM when we need to plan on simple BOMs (no variants, multiple BOMs etc.) and use CBF in case we need to deal with variants involving characteristics.
    Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

the realignment will depend on the realignment table. So if you devise a way to keep that as dynamic as your changes in the components you should be able to do that
there are quite a few ways you can achieve your means... the realignment thought occured because i was posting another answer on it
am sure there will be other issues we havent foreseen that might arise when you actually try it
here is another alternate you might want to try.... just some more vague thought....
if you are on SCM 5 (if you are on another version there are other ways of doing this)
    1. create CV Cs based on a worklist that lists the dynamic components ... (you can automate this if you want - as long as there is a reference spreadsheet)
    2. Create a selection profile that has the Main component and the dynamic components (lets assume there are 3 components and this will be a 1:1 ratio with the main productA)... now the total of the forecast for this selection profile will be say 100
    2. Run a macro that will multiply the forecast with the number of products in it (so 100*4) . this will make the forecast 400
    3. If you have set a disaggregation on the forecast KF that is equal distribution (this may not be the case in your business scenario) you will get 100 on each of the selections
am sure there are a lot of holes in this that can be plugged or variations worked on...  depends what works easier for you...and the amount of maintainance and data involved ... it will all boil down to the business process

  • Independent requirement and dependent requirement

    Hi,
Can anybody explain me what is dependent and independent requirement in PP?
    thanks

    Neha ,
The function of <b>Demand Management</b> is to determine requirement quantities  Goods/products.<b>Customer requirements</b> are created in sales order management. To create a demand program, Demand Management uses <b>planned independent requirements</b> and <b>customer requirements</b>.
To create the demand program, you must define the planning strategy for a product. Planning strategies represent the methods of production for planning and manufacturing or procuring a product. Using these strategies, you can decide if production is <b>make-to-order production(MTO</b>) triggered by sales order  or if it is not triggered by sales orders i.e make-to-stock production (MTS).
Let me explain with one example.
Finsished product "A" has BOM and BOM items are "B" & " C".
There could be a demand for Product A from customer or from Planned independent requirement . planned independent requirements are maintained in the system (t code MD61). so when you run the MRP for a Finsihed product A it also creates the dependent requirement for items B & C ( B /C are dependents, for product A ). in turn the requirements for the items will be fulfilled by raising the purchase requisition , if procured externally or production order if it is in-house.
    hope this explanation is helpful.
    Thanks
    Kiran
P.S  Pls award points if you find the answer is helpful.
    hope this

  • Activity dependant planning and Activity independent planning

    Hello gurus,
Can anyone please explain the difference between the Activity Dependant Planning and Activity Independant Planning with some examples
    thanks
    rihana
    Please, search Web

    Hi Rihana,
Activity indipendent planning : Activity-independent cost planning covers both primary and secondary costs, but does not refer to a specific activity type.  Eg : internal and external distribution
Activity-dependent planning : Activity-dependent planning of primary and secondary costs, on the other hand, enables you to plan both fixed and variable costs. You may require this functionality if your costing system uses flexible standard costing based on marginal costs. In this release you can carry out flexible standard costing based on full costs.
This means fixed costs are used to calculate the cost rates and are in effect converted to variable costs.

  • PIR ( Plant indepenent requirement)

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I am looking at using PIR ( Plant indepenent requirement) for Material procurement at Fert/Component level.
Production process will be thru SO route.
Deletion of PIR post procurement is difficult, hence we want a settinh where PIR should not raise more than one demand.
    Pls help.
    Gops

We want PIR to be used only for material Procurement planning and do not want to complete the make to stock scenario.  At the same time we are unable to delete the PIRs raised once material is procured, which is resulting in duplicate procurement.  We want a solution where one PIR should not raise more than one demand even if it is not deleted.

  • Differentiating Between Dependent and Independent Data

    HI,
How can I make a differentiation between dependent and independent data?

    HI,
If you double click a Transfer requirement in SE10 or SE09 and then press F4 in the field category, you will find some helpful information.
Client dependent or independent transfer requirements include client specific or cross client objects in the change requests. Workbench objects like SAPscripts are client specific, some entries in customizing are client independent.
If you display the object list for one change request, and then for each object the object attributes, you will find the flag client specific.
If one object in the task list has this flag on, then that transport will be client dependent.
You can also find a list of the high class objects in SAP, here you will see the flag on/off. Use TCODE SOBJ.
Start STMS and double click on the request itself, you will see which type of request it is (Workbench -> client independent or Customizing -> client dependent).
I recommend you to import every request on each client without looking inside the request.
    Reward Points if found helpfull..
    Cheers,
    Chandra Sekhar.

  • Multiple Dependent and Independent Samples

    Hi,
Can anybody explain about Multiple Dependent Samples and Multiple Independent Samples with proper Examples?
    Regards,
    Raj

    dear Raj
    Multiple Dependant Samples,
Suppose you have sampling scheme in which the lot size is 10, sample size is 5. acceptance number is 1 and rejection number 4.
Now during RR you found that 2 values are ok and 3 values are not ok. So the system is in confusion because it requires 4 to reject. So system proposes you another sampling plan by which you can further do testing and record the results. The defects get cumulated and is then valuated. you can do this 7 times. For this you need to maintain c1,d1,c2,d2 ,c3,d3 for the same sample size
    Hope this helps

  • Activity Dependant and Independant Cost in real time scenarios

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I know what is activity Dependant and independant costs.  But i would like to know in the realtime scenario what are the costs that would be treated as activity dependant costs and how thay will be handled.
You answer would be suitably rewarded with points
    Thanks in advnace

    Hi
In real time based on client practices, the cost/activity plan will be based on activity dependant cost.
ex: There is Quality control department and it carries out testing of the products.
now, to get plan/budgeted cost/activity, we can choose the requied cost elements to be planned for the period.
    like:
    the cost elements are
    QC cost elements
    Salararies & Benefits
    Indirect Materials
    Indirect Expeneses
    and fixed expenses
for above cost elements we do cost/activity dependant plan and calculate the cost per i hour of testing based on parameters.
