Plant Maintenance wether we can consider the power consumption of equipment
hi
In plant maintenance the client want to know the power consumption of each m/c ie is equipment if it is possible then how what are steps and where i have to enter that data. pls guide us
hi Navin,
Create the measuring point for machine and then ask user to create the measuring document to capture the power consumption.
i hope it will help.

Is there going to be a firmware upgrade for mountain lion customers that have a Macbook with a soild state drive so we can use the Power Nap feature?
here: http://www.apple.com/osx/whats-new/
"Power Nap requires a Mac notebook with built-in flash storage. May require a firmware update."
We have to wait for the Firmware-Updates. Some are already here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5394
And I am shure, that you will need for Power Nap one of the newer Macs with SSD from 2011 and 2012. -

Where can one get power consumption figures for PCI-E Cards?
as i wrote before im putting together a fairly decent rig, and im doing some heavy duty research into the actual total power requirement for it, using PSUCalc2003.v2 spreadsheet to calculate the total, however ive been unable to get the power consumption figures for my nvidia based graphics accelerator a Gigabyte Tech GV-NX62TC256DS with turbo cache, my guess is that this card is at the lower end of the power consumption spectrum but it would be nice to know the exact figure,
any ideas on where can i get those figures ?
thanks.....If you buy the 5770 from Apple as an upgrade kit it has the cable(s) - two for the 5870, one for 5770.
If you bought a mac pro mid-2010 it may very well have come with cable(s), that I have never read or heard from others.
OWC has not always inicluded cables but has charged extra, as they did with eVGA GTX285 where Apple sold with cables, and buying from OWC added another $30? or more to the cost with cables "extra" is what I recall. -
Since I have upgraded from 7.1 then the power consumption increased slightly unbelievable. I have new batteries in my iphone 5 and when I had at ios 7 so was consumption that allows the battery envelope in two days and with ios 7.1 so is it only 12 hours before I need to recharge the battery.

Checking the power consumption of mac mini
i have a PPC mac mini. Is it possible to monitor/check the power consumption of the mini, as well as peripherals attached to it, say like an external firewire disk. System Profiler doesn't give such information.
should this post have been under the category of "using OS X"? If so, could the moderators move it to the correct category

A server grade UPS may have some monitoring ability that you could access, but otherwise, you would have to hook up some test equipment to get the actual power consumption. All is not lost, since pretty much all electrical equipment (especially if it is sold in the US) has a label that tells you what the maximum power consumption is. The label usually states the voltage and the current, which multiplied together roughly equals the number of watts - in the case of a PPC mini, about 85 watts.

Anyone know where I can buy the power cord for intel imac
i lost the power wire to my imac and i don't know where to buy it
anyone know where can I get it and how much it costs?Newer iMacs use ordinary computer power cords commonly used on all sorts of electronic equipment.
The power cord used on G5 iMacs (I think) is different but is also readily available. Either one will cost you less than $10. -
What is the power consumption of the 15 inch rMBP?
I have the 15 inch Early 2013 Retina MacBook Pro. Does anyone have the specs for power consumption while the laptop is charging but asleep? I ask because I have an "eco" surge protector that I'm trying to confgure but I think the rMBP uses over 15W when it is charging so I can't use the surge protector "auto shut off slave outlets" feature. Thanks in advance.

What is the power consumption of an iMac in sleep mode?
Like most people, I let my iMac "sleep" overnight with all sorts of things set up on it. I want to buy a UPS to make sure that even if the power is interrupted, it will stay on in sleep mode.
So, my questions are:
How much power (watts) does a 20" Core Duo iMac w/2GB memory use in sleep mode?
How much battery power do I need to buy? (I'm not an engineer; I don't know if, say, 400 watts for 60 minutes would let me use 10 watts for 2400 minutes, etc.)
Thanks!
iMac Core Duo Mac OS X (10.4.4)I also found this page, which suggests that the Core Duo processor has cool (ha) features:
"the Core Duo processor introduces new integrated per-core digital temperature sensors and advanced thermal management. One advantage of this is that if a sensor shows that one core is running hot, the thermal system will automatically lower the frequency and voltage to both cores to cool the whole chip off."
Supposedly, the Core Duo also has Enhanced Deeper Sleep (yikes) which can take processor power usage down to an amazing 1.8 watts. I don't even know if an off-the-shelf iMac can make use of EDS, which must be enabled in the BIOS of the computer.
However, I still don't have the answer to my question - How much power (watts) does a 20" Core Duo iMac w/2GB memory use in sleep mode?

What is the power consumption of airport extreme
I have bought a time capsule which is fits close to my TV and HIFI but I realized it gets really hot, would I have a similar problem with Airport Extreme or is power consomption lower ?
The TC has a maximum power consumption of 34 watts; the AEBSn uses around 22 watts. Both will run "hot" as they employ large heat sinks just under the top surface to dissapate heat. It is important to allow for enough area around either base station to allow for an adequate exchange of heat from the device to the surrounding air.

MacBooKPro, I can switch the power on and off, but booting takes for ever
I am a new Mac user and have had this machine for a couple of months and in the learning stage. Yesterday I had downloaded some mp3 songs and were trying to play them with itunes, individually they would open but i couldnt import them to the music library. I noticed the machine slowly and by this morning, it has crawled to a stop. I can switch it on and off, but when i switch it on, it takes a long while for the apple logo to come on and then it takes ages for the screen to appear and when i click on something it takes many more minutes for it to open. So in fact I am frozen out, since i cannot open anything...but the machine can be powered on and off.
do you think that there is a relationship between this freezing and the mp3 downloading and trying to play it with itunes?
what might this be? Can any one help me with some advice. The apple support is closed for the night so i cant even call them. Thank you so very much...Hiya Ibncochini,
welcome to Apple discusions, if you can power your book on, can you open "Activity monitor"? (found in applications/utlities).
What may have happened, is that itunes is still trying to import the files. Now, also, whilst the threat of viruses is not as bad as on Windows PC's, I always scan my "new arrivals" (i.e. all files, even music files purchased from the apple store) with clamxav , which is a basic, but free;
But for the moment, I would not suspect anything harmful, other than that an application is trying to run something. (your logs should reveal, found in console )
Hopefully, your activity monitor reveals the offending application that e.g. takes all the processor power and you can click on it and "force quit" (from the Activity monitor menu).
It might also be a good idea to look at +verbose mode+ which will tell you what is happening during the booting up.
Any of the above any good? -
Hello, im about to but an ssd and dont want to pick a drive with more energy consumption to reduce the battery time so i wonder if someone knows the conumption for the Hitachi HTS545032B9A302 drive on the new macbook pro or in worst case if someone dares to approximately guess the consumption in W(Watt)
Does the hard drive label say 5V 700ma?
You might look at the Hitachi spec sheet for the A300/A301's, which have the same power specs: http://www.hitachigst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/techdocs/FFA370A7BF845F87862574FE0003 054C/$file/TS5K500B_DS_final.pdf -

Can I keep the power cord plugged in when battery reaches 100%l?
Hello,
I'm assuming the battery stops recharging when it reaches 100%, right? In other words I can keep the power chord plugged in without any risk of "overcharging". Correct?
Thanks.toni1964 wrote:
Helpful, thanks. FYI, 2 Apple agents at Mac support have advised otherwise (said I have to remove the cord).
How bizarre....I have a 2.5 year old MacBook that gets great battery life (~4hrs) and begs to differ. Anyway, Thanks for the Star!
