Plant stock procurement with budget control

Hello,
Our client has centralized stores which caters to FOS (Factory Operating Supplies) requirements of various projects and departments. Some of the FOS items include u2013 Wielding rods, Personal Protective Equipments (PPEu2019s) etc. These are procured at plant level.
We have following requirement u2013
1)     Above mentioned FOS material should be procured as Plant stock with budget control
We have following queries regarding this requirement u2013
We want this material as plant stock which will be issued as per requirement. If I create PR, PO without account assignment, there is no budget control.
If we procure this material against cost center, material do not come in stock.
Please guide for solution.
Regards,
Milind Dumbre

Hi
If you have PS implemented
then you can use account assignment category Q in PO and WBS element which will control your budget
Or Go with value base contract or Quantity base contract with vendor so you can control it

    Hi,
If you want to update your inventory,Then you have to go for Project only...
Internal orders will not solve your problem , as it will never update your stocks while GR..
As per me there is no option left apart from creating WBS..
If you want to create WBS: follow below instructions:
    Create Work Breakdown Structure
    Prerequisites
You have defined an investment project.
    Procedure
Call up the transaction as follows: Menu Path
Accounting ® Investment Management ® Investment Projects ® Master Data ® Project Builder
    Transaction
    CJ20N
    Choose .
Double-click on Project definitions in the worklist.
    Enter the following data: Field
    Data
    Project definition
    Your number, for example I/2000
    Choose .
Your project is added to the project definitions listed.
    Double click on your project.
There is already a top WBS element. You now add further WBS elements.
On the left hand side of the screen, choose  Templates.
    Choose  next to  Individual objects.
Select  WBS element and drag it to your top WBS element ( New Administration building).
In the Identification and View Selection screen area, enter the following data: Field
    Data
    WBS element (2nd field)
    Foundation
    Choose .

    Enter the following data: Field
    Data
    WBS element (2nd field)
    Windows
    Choose .
Carry out steps 13 -15 with the following input: Field

    WBS element (2nd field)
    Doors
Release the project so that planning can be entered for it.
Select your project definition ( New Administration building) and choose Edit ® Status ® Release.
    Choose .
    Choose .
    Result
Your project is now structured. At the same time, the release of the project triggered the system to create assets under construction (AuCs). You can display the assets under construction for each WBS element. Choose Edit ® WBS element ® Investment programs ® Asset under construction.

  • How to control "Procurement parameter" for plant stock.

    Hi everyone
    I have changed Subject and question as below;
Our customer wants to create P.R manually before MRP running for some of reason.
After create Project/WBS/Network/Activity and assign component to Activity,  when assign
component to activity, set "Procurement parameter""Requisition + reservation for WBS elemen",
then P.R is automatically created. For project stock it seems OK. However when I try to do
same thing for plant stock, I can choose only "Reservation for network". How to control this part?
Experts, please give me your advice.
    Regards,
    Satoru
Edited by: Tempra Samurai on Jan 23, 2010 12:37 AM

    Hi,
Create a Procurement Key in OPS8 and under Priorities give Priority 1 to Plant stock and 2 to Project Stock.
So attach a material to Activity in CJ20N a reservation will be created without AcctAssgcat Q ,Special Stock Q.
Here in this case you can directly issue goods to project also if unrestricted stock is availabe ,here the system will consider only 281 Now.
After you run MRP ,system will create PRs on the basis of Requirement and availabity but without the reference of WBSE because you are creating PR for Plant stock.
    Hope it is clear.

  • For STO with billing how to take material in plant stock without cancelling excise duty

    Hi,
Please suggest for STO with billing how to take material back in plant stock without cancelling excise duty.
    Scenario is
Material transffered from manufacturing plant to depot, material is in transit now, but due to some reason material calls back to manufacturing plant.
Since the excise invoice is raised and material move out of factory client can not cancel excise invoice from legal point of view & client has to pay excise duty for the material movement.
Please suggest how to take back goods to manufacturing plant without cancelling excise invoice.
We have suggested client as there is no provision to take back goods to manufacturing plant without cancelling excise invoice
and to take back material to manufacturing plant stock they have to cancel excise invoice and other related documents.
But client is asking for another options. So requesting you to please suggest any alternative ways for same.
    Thanks,
    Amit

client can not cancel excise invoice from legal point of view & client has to pay excise duty for the material movement
I don't think, there is a statutory rule which says, manufacturer should not cancel the excise invoice generated on their Depot plant.  Justification can very well be given to Excise authorities and hence, ask your client to follow the normal process by treating this as Depot returns.

  • External Procurement with a Valuated Sales Order Stock

    Hi Experts,
I read the following in SAP Help,
For external procurement with a Valuated Sales Order Stock, system generates a purchase requisition from the sales order.
If you are using a valuated sales order stock, the externally procured material is assigned to inventory at the time of the goods receipt. If the sales order item is flagged as carrying costs and revenues, then when the goods issue for delivery to the customer takes place, the sales order item is debited with the costs of the externally procured material.
My question is - it says costs of external procurement is debited to sales order item when " goods issue for delivery to the customer takes place"
           - but in my case, when I made the GR for purchase order (created automatically by sales order), system directly posted the procurement cost as actual costs to the sales order item. There is no delivery for sales order done still.
So actually, when should the external procurement cost be debited to sales order item -- when GR for purchase order is done (or) when  goods issue for delivery to the customer takes place?
    Thanks,
    GAN

    Hi Rafi,
Thanks for your reply. I understand the problem now.
Material which comes from prod order is posted statistically (value type 11) to sales order when GR for prod order is done.
Here, the issue is about a GR for purchase order (assigned to sales order). This material purchased is not used in any production process. Its a material which is supplied to customer along with main material produced in house.
In purchase order, I have given the consumption account (which is cost element 1). Entry was Consumption Dr and GR/IR Cr. So, this posted as actual cost to sales order.
I should have given inventory account in purchase order (with cost element 90).
Its a mistake of using consumption account in purchase order.
    Thanks.
    GAN.

  • SRM 7.0 for Public Sector integrated with FM (Budget Control System)

    Hello!
I'm starting an implementation project of ERP 6.0 and SRM 7.0 for Public Sector.
It would be necesary the integration not only SRM with ERP but with FM (Fund Management), with BCS (Budget Control System) specifically.
Is it possible? has anyone experience on it?
Thks so much in advance and best regards!
    Marcela.-

    Hi,
Certainly... If you have FM implemented in your project, you will have to make integration with SRM.
I did it some 3 years ago and it was quite problematic (a lot of notes were created by SAP on this matter, also as initiative from our project), but since then, I assume, it should not pose specific problems.

  • Stock transfer from Plant to Project with Inspection Lot

    Hello,
Our client procures consumable material in bulk quantity at plant level and then issues it to project as and when required. We want inspection lot to be generated while we are transferring material from Plant to project stock.
    Question -
    1) We are using movement type 412 Q for transferring plant stock to project stock. Is there any other movement available for this requirement?
    2) What configuration is required so that inspection lot will be generated when material is transferred from plant to project stock?
I have tried following configuration but but inspection lot is not getting generated -
Quality Management - > Quality Inspection -> Inspection Lot Creation -> Inspection for goods movements - > Deactivate Quality Inspection for a movement type. QM not active tick removed.
    Please help for resolution.
    Regards,
    Milind Dumbre

    Question -
    1) We are using movement type 412 Q for transferring plant stock to project stock.
Is there any other movement available for this requirement?
Use movement type 415 for transfer posting from unrestricted stock to project stock

  • Beginning Balance of Accumulated Repair Cost and  Budget Control

    Hi All,
My client has two requirements which I have problems working on in SAP.
    1. How do we put the beginning balance of accumulated repair cost of each equipment? Example Equipment A had $ 40, 000 worth of repairs prior to the company's use of SAP, and this balance becomes the initial balance during repair cost reporting (thus if the first work order issued for that equipment in the SAP system costs $5,000, accumulated cost in cost analysis shatll be $45, 000 alread) .
    2. How do we implement budget control in Plant Maintenance, such that a work order that is over budget cannot be released? or needs to be approved by another more superior user before release?
Thanks, answers would be of great help.
    Regards,
    Andrew

    Andrew,
I suspect the only way to do this without Asset Accounting is to create a bespoke ABAP report. You would also need a customer table to hold the repair cost/equipment data. Alternatively, if you have a cost object per equipment (say cost centre) then you could add this value to the cost centre. Either way I would discuss the issue with you finance team first.
In terms of budgetting; this can be done 3 ways:
    - Investment programs (IM)
    - Projects and WBS (PS)
    - Individual maintenance orders (PM)
You can set threshold parameters which determine if the order can be released..

  • Is it required to cost the materials with Price control "V" ?

    Dear All,
Would like to know if we have to consider the items with Price control "V" during the cost run in CK40N..?
Since the system automatically updates the price of the item for price control "V", do we also require to update through cost run?
    Please help me understand.
    Best regards,
    Praveen

    Hi,
Materials with price control "V" is dynamically updated with value whenever there is a receipts.  The system will calculate average rate by dividing total value by total stock.  Hence, cost the materials for this price control is not relevant.  It is recommended to have price control "V" for all externally procured materials.

  • Reg. Stock account with sale order (E)

    Dear Friends
How to purchase row, semifinished and accessories material against sale order (Acc.assignment cat.E)
If I purchase without account assignment mean materials are posted to it's material type correctly, but when I use E the material account goes to consumption account. How to prevent the material from going to consumption account and should come to under Stock account. Pls help me
    Thanks
    Rajakumar.K

    HI,
First I want to Let you know that it is standard setting that when ever you procure with Blank account assignment category ,it Goes to the Stock account that is defined in the T code OBYC--
    in the trsaction key BSX.
But know you are saying that you are using a account assignment category E.
Which says cleary that it has to a Sales order comsuption account.
KNow the question is wheter the you are able to See the Stock in MB52 under Special stock indicator E
or after GRN it is going to the consumption directly.
it happens completly depending on the acount assignment category setting
SPRO--> MM --> Purchaing (OLME) > Account Assignment> Define Acc asign.
in this for the account Assignment E check ..the below
Consumption Posting -- ?  ,if it E ..then it is for sales Order.
Account Modificaition--?  it would having some Key..
this KEy is the one against which GL the consumption should GO..(here you can change your GL if required)
it is maintained in OBYC-- Trasac - GBB> and in that gainst the key eg --VKA ..the GL is maintained .
and the other thing is Special stock indicatoe -- ? -- if it is E ..then it is allocated to Stock.
Hope so i am clear .on what to be done

  • Budget Control at top level WBS only

    Hello All,
I have a requirement from client where I need to activate the Budget control (90% warning and 100% error). I have done the setting accordingly.
Now the scenario is such that when client is doing budgeting, they are allocating the budget only at top level WBS (they have a different legacy, where they are doing there detail planning n budgeting, but since they want the feature of budget control in PS, they will do minimal budgeting in PS). As per my settings when I budget top level WBS and save the availabity control is activated (with no budget on lower level WBS). Now when I try to do some postings/or assign that WBS to PO, even with a value of 1 USD, i am getting an error of budget exceeded, which is fine as per the settings as that WBS is having 0 budget.
The requirement from client side is such that they want AVAC to be activated only at top WBS and do postings to lower WBS. But if the total of lower WBS exceed the budget of top WBS, they should get an warning or error. For example:
    WBS level  BUDGET ACTUALS
      1               100
      2                              50
      2                              50
so as soon as the actuals touch 100, the system should give an error/warning. Note that the 2nd level WBS are not budgeted in SAP, so budget is 0 on them.
    I have 2 questions:
1.Is it possible to activate AVAC only for top WBS ?(without any enhancement/development)
2.How the AVAC will work, if the total of 2nd level WBS exceeds the budget of top WBS (as explained in example above)?
    Awating your replies.
    Thanks
    Sarang

    Thanks Virendra, it was useful.
I tried other way round also i.e. by not marking the release tab in OPS9 and activating AVAC in CJ30.It works in that way too.
For my other question, regarding activating AVAC only at top level, we can achiebve that by using transaction control in user status.
    Thanks
    Sarang

  • Actual Cost of Product with Price control "S"

    Dear Gurus,
Is there any report available where we can know the Actual Costs of Materials with Price Control "S".
In the material master field the actual cost in the "Moving Price Tab" of the material with Price Control "S" is available, but is there any report available for plant level?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amit Dhanurdhari.

    Hi Amit,
-- Under Standard Costing, you value your inventory at Standard Costs and any variances in Production Process will be settled to Price Difference Account. You will not be able to find out actual cost per unit. In Multi-level BOM scenario under Standard Costing (CO-PC), variances don't get rolled-up to the next level, only costs get rolled-up.
-- Under Actual Costing - Material Ledger, You will be able to find out the Actual Cost per Unit. Variances get rolled-up to the next level.
To explain difference between Standard Costing in CO-PC and Material Ledger briefly....
You have given Price Indicator as "S" in the material master of "X" material (semi finisher or finished) and you are doing Standard Cost Estimate for arriving at Standard Cost per tonne. Let's say, the Standard Cost per tonne is Rs.1000/-
Now, when you created production order for 10 tonnes and received output of 10 tonnes (GR). But the total cost incurred on that production order is Rs.1100/-. In this situation, actual cost per tonne is Rs.110.
But, because you are following Standard Costing, When you post GR against this Production Order, inventory will be posted at Standard cost only, i.e., Rs.1000/-. and the balance of Rs.100 will be posted to Price Difference Account. (and parallally the variance of Rs.100/-) will flow to COPA.
So, it is clear that, though, at Production Order level you can see the actual cost, at "material" level, you will not be able to see the actual cost per tonne.(as long as you are using only Product Costing and Standard Costing)
Alternatively, if you maintain Price Indicator as "V", you will able to get the Actual Cost per tonne at material level, but there will be no scope for establishing standard cost and comparison with actual thereof.
But, the same is possible if you are using Material Ledger (CO-ML). If Material Ledger is active, you will be maintaining "S" in the material master, still, the variances will be settled inventory and you will be able to get the actual cost per tonne. (bothe Standard cost estimate, actual cost per tonne will be possible).
Pls revert back for further explanation
