Generally signing out and signing in (signing out and back into the Creative Cloud application ) will fix this. If it isn't resolving the issue for you, let us know what you see and we can try something else.

  • Bluetooth headset not working with flash files

Just got a Plantronics Voyager 510 bluetooth headset. Works just fine, except when viewing clips at YouTube. Not only is there no sound, the clip freezes after a few seconds. I believe they are Adobe Flash. Now this is on my new late 2007 MacBook with Leopard.
So I figure I'll try the headset on my Intel 1.66 Mac Mine with Tiger 10.4.10. Same thing
    Any ideas.

Apparently Apple cheaped out on the Bluetooth support in the Tiger OS X (or an official profile wasn't even available)....something to do with not having Stereo Headset support.
It is possible to circumvent it: http://blog.david.connolly.name/2007/06/stereo-bluetooth-profile-a2dp-on-mac-os. html However, as indicated on the top of that topic - it is outdated (and IMO too much effort).
In a nutshell - you're being quietly coaxed in to buying Leopard OS X - which does have the Stereo Bluetooth profile installed.
What I don't get is why Apple can't release to us a nice little patch for Tiger to give us the full use of our Bluetooth hardwares.

  • External Monitor Not Working With Macbook Pro

My computer was working fine with an external monitor, then my computer froze, and I had to hold down the power button. When I turned it back on, my computer would not work with an external monitor. I've tried different cables, so it's not the cable. The monitor is being detected by the computer, but nothing is showen on the external monitor. When connecting the monitor to the computer, the computer's screen goes blue, then turns back to normal. I
I cannot reset the SMC by removing the battery, I do not have the confidence to remove my battery, and do not have the time to send the computer to someone else to do it.
I also tried updating my OS from 10.7.4 (Might've been 10.7.3) to 10.7.5.
My computer is a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010), running OS X 10.7.5 Lion.
I need to get this problem fixed ASAP, any help is appreciated.
    Kind Regards,

I forgot to mention, I'm connecting the monitor via MiniDisplay -> HDMI. I've also tried USB -> HDMI and USB -> DVI -> HDMI but none of them seem to work.

  • External isight not working with Macbook Pro early 2008

My external isight is not working with my Macbook Pro early 2008 (2.4 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 6 GB RAM, OSX Lion). It goes warm when plugged into the firewire port but is not recognized in system prefs (lists as "unknown device" and also does not turn on (green light. I tried resetting PRAM and all the other stuff as suggested here but no luck. It used to work fine on a 1st generation Macbook and I remember that one of the first times I tried it with this machine here it turned on for a few secs (green light) but then it just simply stopped.
Unfortunately, I have no other firewire device to check the port.
    Any ideas, dear community?

Our (old) external Firewire iSights can be sensitive to dust, shock, vibration, humidity, and other environmental factors in storage.  (I store my spare in its original plastic shipping case with a new desiccant pack on a solid shelf - never in a desk drawer or other container that moves.)
You have tried several good things and may be finding that your old iSight needs work.
Here are the alternatives I can offer.  Consider any you have not tried in any order you like:
    (1) You can try Apple's suggestions from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
Test in more than one user account and with more than one Apple softwre application.
    (2) My expanded suggestions here: http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/EZJim/EZJimpage4.html
    (3) Reset Firewire ports using the info from this old archived Apple article: http://web.archive.org/web/20090331211534/http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1317
    (4) If you have no local Apple Authorized service Provider who can help you, other service options are here: http://www.apple.com/support/isight/service/
    (5) Consider a new USB cam with current warranty such as one of these: http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/

  • Bluetooth headset not working with 2008 Macbook!

    Hello,
I just got a new Macbook and love it!
But, the other day I tried out my Bluetooth headset and the A2DP headphone choice works great.
But when I change it to headset for use with skype I can hear the person but all they hear is weird repeating static. I listened to myself with skype call testing service and it sounds bad. I looked in preferences of sound and most of the sound bars are purple and moving as if
i am yelling into the microphone. I know it is not the headset for it works with my cellphone and eMac.
Anything I do to the headset doesn't solve this or even brake the pattern in the purple bars.
I turned off the headset when it was showing these bars and they kept going.
It is not the headset. The Macbook is capable of receiving files through Bluetooth so it is not the input of Bluetooth that is the problem.
Also, when I first started the microphone of the headset it was clear then after a couple seconds it started to drown out my voice then it was gone, replaced by shhhhhhchhh.
My headset is a Plantronics 590E.
    Thanks,
    MIBM

    Yes, thank you.
I was recently on Vacation and scheduled a Genius Bar visit and they tested my headset with another Macbook and same thing. I am very mad at Apple after finding this out. I had a feeling it was drivers or something but obviously could not test seeing as I only have one computer running Leopard, eMac runs Tiger. I actually have a third party bluetooth dongle working with my eMac. It is an Iogear dongle and on the box it says all features work with Mac and then I plugged it in and was unable to turn on/off and couldn't use headsets, then after hours of research I found a forum and downloaded a Broadcom driver and voila! it worked. That is also why I wasn't sure if it was a driver problem or hardware.
If anyone needs a tutorial and the driver for a broadcom bluetooth USB dongle I would be happy to help.
    Thanks,

  • Apple Bluetooth Keyboard not working with Macbook??

I copied this from a post on a reply earlier, but thought I'd start a new post and hope that someone has had a similar problem.
I have the new Apple wireless keyboard that doesn't work on my Macbook. Ironically, the only keys that do work are the top row. Screen brighten or dim, Dashboard, speaker volume control etc...
I've connected it and paired it successfully, but the keys just don't seem to work. (delete and arrow keys also work) After a while, my mighty mouse (wireless) start acting funny, or the track pad button on the laptop itself stops working. Shutting of the keyboard at this point doesn't help and I need to reboot the computer.
I've taken it to Fortune Tower in Bangkok where they have a apple support center and he couldn't get it to work on his 17" mac book pro either. He wanted me to leave it, but I took it back to the international departure terminal of the Bangkok international airport, (had to wait for another flight to China to do this) and returned it to the store where I bought it. But they wanted to see the problem and I showed them that it didn't work. Convinced, then then brought out a new one and I wanted to verify that IT worked but same exact problems.
I suggested that they connect it to another computer? Which they did, an Imac and it worked fine. Then they connected it to a Mac Book Pro, (15 inch) and it worked fine there as well.
Could this be a firmware update issue?
Anyone else having problems like this?
I just hope that this isn't a simple setting somewhere that I've overlooked... but I'll try anything at this point.
    thanks,

I have exactly the same problem! Macbook Pro 2GHz (so not a very recent one...), OS, firmware, etc updated to the latest. My Mac dealer proposed to do a clean installation of 10.5.2 - did not help. Apple Support told me to uninstall the keyboard and install it again (for more help they want money...) I did - same problem. Only function keys and cursor keys work. Funny thing - during pairing the code can be entered and recognized, but later no character cames through.
The keyboard is perfectly OK, since it works with my MacPro without any problems.
The mouse, on other hand, works nicely so far.
Maybe now will someone give us a wise advice?

  • Can't get bluetooth headphones to work with MacBook Pro

I just bought a pair of Bluetooth stereo headphones.  They work fine with my iPad and my iPhone.  I paired them successfully with Bluetooth on my MacBook Pro.  However, when I try to use them with my MacBook Pro it asks if I want to use them as stereo or mono.  No matter which I choose I immediately get the error message "There was an error connecting to your headset.  Make sure it is turned on and within range."  How do I solve this?

There is a forum however it's not the most intuitive to locate. It's located in the Snow Leopard forum and can be found at:

  • External Display not working with MacBook Pro 13" (early 2011)

I just bought the current MacBook Pro 13" (i7 processor). My external display (Benq 20"W, 1600x1050) always says "No Signal Detected!". I've tried it with a DVI-Adapter (Griffin Video Display Converter) and with a VGA-Adapter (LMP Mini DisplayPort-VGA-Adapter). With lower resolution I once got a picture (but with weird lines). On my old MacBook (white, 2.16 Ghz) there was never a problem with this display (also OS X 10.6.6). Who can help?

Check this post if you want more info:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2774718
The gist is that DVI is currently very iffy through Thunderbolt. Mini display -> mini display OR mini display -> HDMI should work fine. It's most likely not your adapter itself but the fact that it's DVI.
If you can, get a mini display -> HDMI adapter and try that (assuming your external has HDMI).
I should hear back tomorrow or Monday from apple engineers with more specific info about this issue and I will update then.
BTW- DVI anywhere in the chain will make things fail. Mini Display -> DVI and a DVI/HDMI cable won't work with any reliability (I've tested it on three completely different monitors).

  • Thunderbolt 2 external hard drive not working with Macbook Pro (early 2011)

    Hi,
I'm new to this forum and I hope you guys can help me with this:
I've recently bought an external hard drive that works on Thunderbolt 2 (LaCie d2 3TB). When I connect the new drive to my Macbook Pro through the thunderbolt port, the drive isn't recognized. However, the drive works fine through a USB connection.
I thought that Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 are compatible, however this doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe it's because the OS X / driver / firmware version that I'm working on that is not updated? I work on an early 2011 Macbook Pro: OS X Version 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).
Thank you very much for your help!
    Daniel

    Hi danielsh6,
I recently bought the new Lacie Thunderbolt 2 D2 3TB and I had the same problem as you, i have a macbook pro early 2011, those support thunderbolt but many times there is a bug that doesn't let you connect any thunderbolt drives to your computer. The solution I found was installing this update:
    Thunderbolt Firmware Update v1.0
Before doing this I would recommend you updating to mountain lion (not yosemite yet as there is still some glitches and more on preview's macbook pro's).
    Hope this helped!

  • Rocketfish adapter not working with MacBook Pro 13 inch

I have a rocketfish HDMI to mini displayport adapter. I have tried to connect it to a 22 inch monitor and a 50 inch TV as an extended monitor but the MacBook does not recognize the extended display.

  • Old MagSafe Airline Adapter not working with MacBook Pro Retina

I've got an old MagSafe Airline Adapter (one I bought when it first came out) that I'm trying to use with my MacBook Pro Retina (using a MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter). Sometimes the light is green, sometimes it is off, sometimes the battery icon in the menu bar shows plugged in, sometimes not, but in any combination, the machine is not maintaining charge; the battery discharges at a normal rate for just being on battery. For giggles, I borrowed my seatmate's year-or-two-old MagSafe adapter (the one with the right-angle plug) and plugged it into my machine (also using the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 converter). The light on that one turns orange, and though the battery icon shows "Not Charging", the battery is maintaining charge with the newer adapter. (My adapter, BTW, is able to maintain the charge on her 13" MacBook Pro.)
Was there a change to recent versions of this adapter to make the new ones work with the Retina MacBooks where the old one will not?

the green light on the mag safe turns on?
you should reduce your usage to a very minimal amount as I'm sure the airline doesn't output a strong enough signal for you to be running full screen films with high res. Maybe you should close your macbook P and see if it is charged after a little while of not using it.
turn your screen lights down, turn the sound gHZ down, quit all the downloadin'.
if you must run flash make sure you have the latest version (from the adobe site).
You're computer is intense and if you use it more then it's gaining, of course it going to be draining .
But this is probably moot since you're probably on said plane now. or was.
I'd imagine if you're not satisfied with the product you should return it detailing your situation.

  • Samsung LED Monitor TA950 not working with Macbook pro

I bought a Samsung TA950 Full HD LED 3D 27 inch monitor and trying to connect my MBP (early-mid 2009, does not support, MiniPort Audio). Connecting using MDP-DVI to HDMI to connect and MBP detects the monitor, I can see and change Display preferences. The monitor only flashes "no signal" when I disconnect the cables so something is happening...every so often my macbook pro display "flashes" momentarily as if it is recognizing a connection but a)nothing shows up in the display prefs after clicking "detect display" and b) nothing shows up on the external monitor. The monitor did worked and showed the MBP screen when I disconnect the cable, set the MBP display resolution to 1152 by 720, than connect the Miniport cable, the monitors flickers and shows the screen, and after a minute or 2, it goes black and goes in the loop of flickering and trying to detect the monitor

Hi, I got the same monitor the other day and there should be no problem getting it to work.
Use the DP to mini-DP cable supplied with the monitor.
Make sure this cable is plugged into the correct input DP port in the back of the monitor (not the DP port for daisychaining).
Make sure the DP input is selected in the inputs menu on screen.
Plug mini-DP end of the cable into Mac
    Should work ...

  • Hitachi X500 external hard drive not working with MacBook Pro

I purchased a new Hitachi X500 500GB external USB hard drive today and when I plug it into my MacBook Pro the drive makes a clicking noise and never mounts. When I try it on my wives MacBook it boots up fine. I bought one early in the day and the same thing happened, so I returned it and got a new one and the same thing happens. Any thoughts?
Looks like it's formatted with Fat32 when I look at it on the MacBook.
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Does the external drive have it's own power brick? If not, it's bus-powered and may not be getting enough juice to run.
Also try all the USB ports on your MBP. Although they are "supposed" to be producing the same amount of power, posts around here suggest that's not always the case.
If the drive does not have a power brick, you can get an inexpensive powered USB hub (it has a power brick) like this one:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Belkin/F5U403P/
Adding a powered hub fixes problems with bus-powered USb external drives about 95% of the time.

Anyone know about or experience anything similar? Ever since I started using FCP HD on my new MacBook Pro the Flicker and De-Interlace Filters cause severe video defects in the clip that I apply them to. Perhaps something to do with Intel chip? Any help would be well appreciated.
