Plantronics Voyager Legend and my iPhone 4

sometimes my audio will switch from my Plantronics blue tooth to just coming out of the iphone.
i will push the audio button and sometimes it will show the blue tooth still checked, other times iPhone will be checked.
Also, there are times I push the button on my Voyager, hear the tone, and wait for voice control to be activated on my iPhone, but it doesn't happen.
anybody else seen this?   why does it just switch back and forth, and why can't i consistently invoke voice control via my Voyager?  I recently updated the firmware on my Voyager and am still seeing the same problems.

    anyone can help me?

If you have Samsung Android phones, get Viber or Whatsapp, it feels just like texting but it's a free messaging/chat service instead.
But talk to your provider, they should be able to identify if there's any international restrictions active on the accounts.

  • Plantronics voyager legend not pairing to iPhone 6

My iPhone 6 does not recognize my Plantronics Voyager Legend headset. It worked fine on my iPhone 5 with OS 8.02.  Any ideas how to connect the two?

    This worked for me:
To Pair Voyager Legend to a Different Phone or Re-Pair to the Same Phone:
Turn the headset on. Slide the power switch to the 'on' position showing green.
Using voice commands. Tap the Voice button on your Voyager Legend and say “Pair mode,” or  Press and hold the Call button on your Voyager Legend until you hear “Pairing”
Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth feature. While the Voyager Legends LEDs are flashing red/blue, activate Bluetooth on your phone and set it to search for new devices.
    • iPhone Settings > General > Bluetooth > On
    • Android™ Smartphones Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth: On > Scan for devicesNOTE: Menus may vary by device
Select Voyager Legend. Select “PLT_Legend" on your phone as a found device.  If your phone asks, enter four zeros (0000) for the passcode or simply accept the connection.
Complete pairing process. Once successfully paired, LEDs on the Voyager Legend will stop flashing red/blue and you will hear “pairing successful.” from the headset.NOTE To enable caller name announcement, allow access to your contacts if your phone prompts you.Your phone should now be paired with the Plantronics Voyager Legend headset and ready for use.

  • Galaxy S5 and Plantronics Voyager Legend

I got the Voyager Legend Headset when I preordered my S5. The headset worked perfect with my Motorola Razr maxx.
Now with my S5 the headset auto answers every call as long as it is turned on and paired to the phone. Doesn't matter if it's on my ear or not it will auto answer the call.
I took it into a Verizon store they weren't able to determine why. They even grabbed a brand new one off the shelf, paired it to my phone and it did the same thing. I contacted Plantronics whet through all of their troubleshooting and still no change. Plantroncis recommended exchanging it for a new one.
Since I had seen another one already have this issue I thought I'd post this on this forum and see if anyone else is having this problem and see if anyone has found a solution.
    Things I've done.
    1) Installed the Plantronics app and checked all the settings
    2) Updated the firmware on the headset and checked the settings with the plantronics website
    3) Tried changing all the "answering and ending call" options on the S5
    4) Unpairing the headset and repairing it.
    5) Tried using the headset with the s5 in safe mode
Anyone have any more thoughts or suggestions?

I have recently just got the solution.
Even Samsing wasn't able to help. After going through all the settings on the S5 I found the fix.
Go to Settings --> Applications --> Call --> Call Accessories. There is an option for Automatic Answering. Uncheck that.
The headset will now work perfectly.

  • Voyager Legend will not work with my laptop

I have an HP Pavilion dv6-3120us Entertainment Notebook PC with Windows 7(64-bit). I recently purchased a new bluetooth headset and am unable to get it to work with my laptop. The Previous headset was a Plantronics Voyager Pro which worked great with my laptop, all I had to do was pair it and that was that. My new headset is the Plantronics Voyager Legend and after pairing, it starts installing drivers and all but one are fine.
            Bluetooth AV                                               Ready to use
Bluetooth Remote Control                       Ready to use
Bluetooth AV Remote Control Target   Ready to use
Bluetooth Peripheral Device                   No Driver Found
            Bluetooth Hands-free                               Ready to use
I've uninstalled, reinstalled several times and it didn't help, It shows that the device is paired, but doesn't reroute audio to the headset or the microphone. It shows in audio devices but says disconnected, when I click on 'connect', nothing happens and 'set as default' is grayed out and I cannot select it. I know that there is a separate bluetooth USB adapter available, but I'm using the headset mostly for my phone (which works fine) and occasionally my laptop so I don't really want to purchase it. I've already contacted Plantronics about the issue and this was their response:
"Thank you for contacting Plantronics Technical Support.
If you are using built in blue tooth and not our blue tooth USB adapter unfortunately we cannot assist you with your built in blue tooth, Plantronics does not supply drivers, here is our statement with regards to using built in blue tooth:
If you are pairing the headset directly to your computer, the drivers that are required are for your computer's internal Bluetooth adapter. You will need the drivers supplied by your computer's manufacturer in order for you to use your Bluetooth headset as an audio device.
Different computer manufacturers and computer models will use different internal Bluetooth adapters, so you'll have to contact your computer manufacturer to get those drivers. Most major computer manufacturers have a "Drivers" or "Drivers and Downloads" page on their web site in which you can enter your computer model in order to retrieve available drivers. You can typically find the Bluetooth drivers under the "Network" category. "
I've checked for bluetooth driver updates and it says that none are available, I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the bluetooth drivers from the laptop. Sorry that this is a short novel, but I wanted to make sure to give all available details, any help or advice would be welcome. Thank you in advance.

    Hi Nt_winters,
Thank you for all the information, it is very useful. I understand you are having an issue with HP Pavilion dv6-3120us Notebook with Windows 7 and your new Plantronics Voyager Legend. In the device manager are all unknown devices removed as well as the Bluetooth devices for the headset? Broadcom is recommended for Plantronics Voyager Legend headsets. Here is a link to that driver.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

  • Is there a way to have sounds play in the BT headset and the iPhone?

This was brought up some time ago and the thread was closed unsolved. This is still an issue that needs to be resolved. All phone sounds except for ring only go through my bluetooth headset when it is connected. Phone sounds need to output from the phone when bluetooth is attached. My headset doesn't stay in my ear when I'm not using it so when I get a text I cant hear it. The suggested work around of ending the call from the phone or switching to phone after each call and then having to switch back to headset from the phone before answering from the headset are not solutions.

I would also like this issue addressed.
I am using a Plantronics Voyager Pro+ and when it is connected to my iPhone 4, email and text sounds are not audible through the phone. The phone just vibrates when a new text or email is received.
I don't really care if it plays through the headset, but it should at least play through the phone. I tested the headset from a BlackBerry and the alerts play fine.

  • IPhone 4 and Plantronics Voyager Pro

Apple sells plantronics headsetds,..mine worked great with my blackberry,.my iPhone doesnt pick it up??.Anyone have any IDEA why?

Ok, for those of you who have a Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset, I got a connection/"pairing". This is what I did:
    1) I turned off my bluetooth headset.
    2) Go to Settings in iPhone and turn "on" your bluetooth so that it is searching ...
    3) Then I turned on the headset until I saw the blue light, AND CONTINUED to HOLD DOWN the on/off switch until the blue light was FLASHING.
    4) The "pairing" took place during the flashing.
Holding down the power button on your Voyager Pro headeset acts like as a "hard reset", and starts a "new" search for a new device or new software, in this case it's iOS5 or your new iPhone, or both.
Before doing the steps above my iMac (desktop computer) had the same problem of not "discovering" my bluetooth headset. But after I did the steps, I set my iMac to "discover mode" and the "pairing" between these two devices was successful.
    OTHER bluetooth headsets
Try doing a "hard reset" on your bluetooth device, if you are trying to connect with an iPhone, iPad, or desktop computer that is running iOS5 or Lion.
The problem seemed that my bluetooth headset was trying to connect with devices that were paired with previous operating systems (ie: iOS4 or Snow Leopard). When I upgraded my operating systems to iOS5 and Lion, my bluetooth needed to "start fresh", hence the "hard reset" on the bluetooth.

  • Plantronics Voyager Pro+  iPhone 6 pair disconnects

Brand new iPhone 6, 128gb.  Version 8.1.3 (12B466).  Paired my Plantronics Voyager Pro+ with it, first bluetooth thing paired with the phone.  Paired easily.
What happens is, if my phone is idle for some period of time and the screen shuts off, when I get an incoming call, I find that the headset is no longer connected, even though the iPhone shows the bluetooth connection is there.  If I wait for a connection to happen, it never will.  I have to turn off the headset, turn it back on, at which point it connects to the phone without incident.
I have three other devices paired with the phone now.  I find that my car's bluetooth has a similar issue - it un-pairs and re-pairs from time to time.  (2014 Mercedes ML350).  My wife's iPhone 5 does NOT have the problem with the car.  This headset, and three others from other manufacturers, worked without drama with my previous phone, a Motorola Razr Maxx HD; my car had the same disconnect/reconnect problem from time to time, so I'm assuming THAT issue is the car's problem.
I've seen a huge number of complaints back late last year, so many I can't wade through to see if there are still issues.  The solution was supposed to be v8.1 of iOS.  Clearly not for me.
Is there some setting I should re-do?  Doing a full reset of the phone seems to be an absurd thing to do, given that this happened with a brand new clean phone and the first bluetooth item paired to it.  I STARTED with a re-set phone...
    Help appreciated.

Hi Susabella, great to hear. However mine is Plantronics Voyager Pro (no Plus, not sure whether it's different) and my iPad 1 still can't find it (yes my Plantronics was in discoverable mode). I read the tread and it says iPad 1 doesn't support HFP 1.5.

may be that's the reasons. Thks for you reply too.

  • Plantronics Voyager PLT-510 not audible with iPhone

    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1701919
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8877788
I'm just following up from the above prematurely archived threads (what is with this forum doing that before an issue is resolved!). I have the same issue and must add my name to the list of those who have reported it.
I have tried this by calling my own voicemail.
When I use the 510 to call myself from my VoIP line or Nokia E71, it works fine and I can hear every word I record.
When I call from the iPhone, the iPhone seems to be trying to employ some sort of 'echo cancellation' and cuts out / lowers volume to zero, any words that I speak below a certain acceptable volume. In other words, I have to shout for the iPhone to 'allow' the words through.
It seems there's always some sort of issue that means allegedly compatible hardware (it says so on the Plantronics website where iPhone is listed), needs to be trashed.
Before I buy a new multipoint headset, is there any way I can make the iPhone stop lowering the volume of the 510 like this, or stop the headset doing the same if it is the cause?

Yes, I also have a Voyager 510 and I also have trouble with the volume (I have a iPhone 3G). The other person on the line has trouble hearing me. This seems to be worse since I upgraded the phone to the 2.2 software.
The Plantronics site claims that the 510 is compatible with the iPhone. I think that this headset worked better with earlier versions of the iPhone software, but I can't be totally sure.

  • Pairing iphone 3G with bluetooth Plantronics voyager PLT 510

Hello! This is my problem: I have a bt. headset Plantronics voyager 510 which I want to use with my IPhone 3G. I make my headset discoverable, my phone recognize it, and with no code, I can use (talk). All time when bluetooth is "on" my IPhone keep searching devices, and is visible. Only option wich I have is to delete PLT 510 from phone memory. Can anyone tell me where I go wrong or what`s happening?

I had a similar issue with my Jawbone Prime. The iPhone wouldn't recognize it. I paired my Plantronics 520 without any problem -- it works fine. I tried the Jawbone again and it hooked right up! I can now use either headset.
Far-fetched, but if you could borrow another headset and give that a try, maybe the phone will cooperate with your Plantronics.

  • Plantronics HD Pro and iPhone 4, ios7

I have had recent problem with my earpiece. I can pair, re-pair, or force phone to route audio through earpiece. I cannot force the Plantronics to assume
control of the phone for dialing when I turn the earpiece on, only when I get or make a call, then select the voyager instead of the iPhone. Then it'll work until I put the earpiece down or turn off.
Where is the command to force the iPhone to relinquish control to the Plantronics when it is present and on, in position.
I thought this was supposed to be an automatic fxn of the Plantronics and why it was as expensive as it is.

To text using your MacBook pro instead of your iPhone use Mail. The address you need is the address of the phone you are texting to. So your iPhone if you have AT&T service is: [email protected]

  • Just purchased an iPhone5 and can not pair my Plantronics Voyager Pro HD.  I can't get a flashing red/blue signal light.

Just purchased an iPhone5 and can not pair my Plantronics Voyager Pro HD.  I can't get a flashing red/blue signal light.

Did you press and hold the power button until the LED flashes alternating red/blue - you may have to hold it for quite a few seconds.  If the LED is not flashing red/blue, then it is not in pairing mode, and I would then call Plantronics tech support as their manual has nothing else to offer (I have the same headset, but I had no problem pairing with my iPhone 5 when I upgraded from my iPhone 4).
In the USA, call 1-866-363-2583 for Plantronics.
